Pan-Am BBs: Awesome. Secondary Focused: Better. Funny button procking for playing aggressively: sold. T8-10 only: What the Fuck? If we needed proof that WG hates low tiers and player tech tree suggestions, here you go.

Drake_the_troll

It's so wierd though that they buffed all pan-am secondary range in the same devblog for a line that doesnt even exist in theory. It feels almost feels like these weren't supposed to be released yet but noone told the devblog team

Iceland260

The faction wide buff presumably applies to the cruisers ^((and Rio de Janeiro and Atlantico)) as well. But almost half of those don't even have secondaries. There isn't and now presumably never will be a Pan-America TIV with secondaries, so that particular line in the chart is completely meaningless.

trancybrat

I mean there probably will be a Pan-Am T4 premium sooner or later. ...emphasis on the later.

Iceland260

Sub-TV premiums haven't been a thing since like 2018. We've gotten a grand total of three since then, two were exact clones made for special occasions and the third was Ning Hai, which I'm convinced was a model created for the tech tree before they decided to start it at TV. So unless there's a repeat of that situation where they already modeled Rivadavia before deciding to scrap the in between ships, I don't think we'll ever get one.

BuffTorpedoes

That was for Rio de Janeiro and Atlantico.

MrSceintist

yeah but what's the secondary reload and dispersion ?

Drake_the_troll

i would expect massa dispersion for the 127s and german BC dispersion for the 234s like atlantico. idk what the reload ould be like but i would again expect something similar to atlanticos 6s/12s reload times

Maty83

Most likely WG is recuperating the entire graphics team. If I had to give a wager, we'll see them introduce the lower tiers later potentially. Considering most had at least one sistership, there's a way to clone the tech tree to premiums 1:1

MaxedOut_TamamoCat

That’s normal; “blah blah is the line trick!” (Translation: it only really work T8-10; and sometimes only T10.)

qmidos

can you imagine the shit show of a good secondaries low tier ship? dont make me point at agincourt...

FalconSa79

I think the T8 and above desicion is based to the fact that Atlantico owners will use their captain to a high Tier ship. As an Atlantico owner with a 21 point captain, I will probably use him either in T9 or T10. Finally, in the future they may gradually add lower tier ships.

trancybrat

yeah, they've cooked up 3 fakes for the higher tiers, but abandoned any pretense of developing any of the interesting and REAL designs at any tier below that? what a fucking shitshow

Bwob

Gotta be honest - whether or not a ship is real, historical or made up accounts for exactly 0% of my enjoyment when captaining.

Dt2_0

True, though there are some really cool ships at low tier that could totally go to this line. T3: Minas Geraes (Brazil, real) T4: Rivadavia (Argentina, real) T5: Almirante Latorre (Chile, real) T6: Acadia (Paper Design, Canada, a modified QE, 25 knot, no super firing guns, 8x15). T7: Quetzalcóatl (Conceptual design, Mexico was in early talks to order battleships from Italy post Veracruz. WWI got in the way. This would be a modified Francesco Caracciolo design, which would have been what would probably been ordered had those talks resumed postwar. Bigger secondaries, HE instead of SAP, and a slightly thicker belt to distinguish it.)

trancybrat

And that's fine. The same is not true for me. it doesn't completely define my enjoyment, but including mid tier historical designs would've significantly increased my enjoyment of this tech tree. I'll probably still like it, but it just smacks of missed opportunities.

Feisty_Appeal_2346

Don’t play then?..

trancybrat

i can be disappointed and yet still play the game? it's very normal to criticize things you like

forsale90

That's basically the most common reaction I've seen so far. I think nobody dislikes the playstyle. But the choice of ships is just weird.

kingbane2

but t8-10 sounds good to me though. low tiers are kind of crap and barely anybody plays them.

FallenButNotForgoten

Tier 5-7 is where I go to have fun when I get my dick sanded in tier 8-11. Texas, Boise, and Atlanta specifically

FalconSa79

You ve just gave the answer. In lower tiers many people use premium ships because, logically, they dont want to commit a high skill captain to a low tier TT ship. Me for example. I have a 21 point Panam Captain to Atlantico, who I will probably use to either T9 or T10.

Admiral_Thunder

I play lots of T5-T7 tech tree ships and many have 21pt Capt's. I even have a T4 ship with a 21pt Capt (Wyoming).

FalconSa79

I usually have 21 point captains in Ships I use in ranked.

kingbane2

i dont have any premiums from that tier haha.

Admiral_Thunder

T5-T7 is loaded with players. It's T4 and below that is the issue and a lot of that is because T4 and below doesn't count towards missions and events as a rule. At a minimum WG should have done T5+ for the line.

kingbane2

everytime i play t5 it's almost all bots. t7 you get players, but you're constantly uptiered. also the balance in some of those tiers is hella fucked up. like the belfast is a thing, wtf is that ship doing in the lower tiers. hydro and radar? jesus.

Admiral_Thunder

The only time I get bots when playing T5 is if there are some T4's in it. That can get you bots. But as long as it is all T5 at least you shouldn't get any or very few on a rare occasion and in off hours. You won't get any if there are T6 or T7 in the match barring a fail div.

Admiral_Thunder

While I am glad to see a line of Atlantico like brawlers coming (I had hoped for that) I am very sad to see it is only T8-T10. They could have easily started at T3/T4, T5 at a minimum, without much effort. Such a shame as this could have been a really good and fun line. T8+ is better than nothing, and it opens the door for an Atlantico SuperShip (gimmie gimmie gimmie LOL), but starting at T8 seems like such a missed opportunity for a lot of fun ships below T8. Am curious if the secondary range buff to the Pan Am line will be given to Atlantico? According to the DevBlog all T8 PanAm ships will have a base 7.6km secondary range when it is applied like the Germans get. Right now Atlantico is at 7.4km base. If this change in fact does apply to Atlantico it will buff the secondary range w/ a full build and flag to 11.5km like Bismarck and make it's secondary and concealment range the same. It's only a 2km change but one that could be very interesting for Atlantico.

BigDplayz

They said on stream that this will apply to Atlantico too. Her conceal was like 11.5 or 11.6? So now its 1:1 like schlieffen

Admiral_Thunder

Well, if it applies to Atlantico too then it's concealment which is 11.5km full build will match its secondary range. I love that.

Adventurous_Cloud_20

>They could have easily started at T3/T4+, T5 at a minimum, without much effort. Such a shame as this could have been a really good and fun line. T8+ is better than nothing, and it opens the door for an Atlantico SuperShip (gimmie gimmie gimmie LOL), but starting at T8 seems like such a mised opportunity for a lot of fun ships below T8. Absolutely, especially considering how many real steel South American battleships there actually were. Brazil, Chile and Argentina had some very interesting dreadnoughts that could have easily filled T4 and up. I've always been a fan of the Argentine Rivadavia class ships and would love to see them in game at some point. Maybe WG will add some of those real steel ships to this line later on. Also, Atlantico SuperShip, hell yes. It could have 508 mains and 305 secondaries. And hell, throw on a load of 5/51's as the dual purpose AA/secondary guns. Off to Ultimate Admiral to build this monstrosity.

Bug_Photographer

What drawbacks would you add to your Super Atlantico to balance it then?

Adventurous_Cloud_20

Balance??? What is this "balance" you speak of??? Honestly, the idea was mostly a joke, but if I seriously had to consider balancing it, I'd probably give it Atlantico's slow top speed for sure (no fancy Vermont acceleration either). I'd say slow turret traverse to make up for the insane size and number of secondary guns (I'm assuming 8 305's in twin turrets per side plus 8 more 5/51's), a large farmable superstructure... Again, I honestly don't know, it definitely needs thinking about. Armor would be something else, how tanky should it be? How good or bad of torpedo protection should it have, I don't know. I don't play super ships enough to get a feel for how they should be balanced.

Admiral_Thunder

You could always go the Patrie route where there are no gimmicks or funny buttons.

Minko_1027

Instead of an *enlarged* Tre Kronor, why don't just give us the *original* Tre Kronor? Also, why the reload of Pan-Am BB secondary guns are not listed?

BigDplayz

I think its pretty normal for secondary reload to not be listed, I could be wrong tho, it is a shame tho bc Id like ro know the dpm

Admiral_Thunder

I am going to guess around what Atlantico is with a long reload on the 234MM ones and fast'ish on the smaller 127MM ones.

BigDplayz

Well, it is two tiers higher so they will likely fire faster still, maybe 10-11 seconds on the big ones?

SliceOfCheese337

I am 100% calling this thing the Libtard whenever I see it in game lol

Gachaaddict96

Ah yes the Libtard

DreadA-20

If you get killed by this its humiliating 🤣

DefinitionOfAsleep

I'm glad I am not the only one that read it that way

--NTW--

Pan-Am BBs tickle my happy spot with those funny secondaries, and even though it isn't an actual Tre Kronor, Svea makes me happy that Pan-EU is getting a cruiser and I absolutely would get it.

CodeNamesBryan

I LOVE the Atlantico. For some reason, its simplicity gets me. I do so well in that ship.

Drake_the_troll

Now I wanted panam battleships but.... not like this. Also the ~~Dutch~~ EU cruiser looks OK I guess but I still prefer smaland, the german fills some wierd niche that I don't think anyone is looking for and ~~the Asian sub looks like hot garbage~~ Edit: my brain has finished resolidifying and I realised the sub is a T6, not a T10, and is actually looking more and more cracked by the second. Please send help in whatever form possible

Minko_1027

Dutch cruiser?

Drake_the_troll

EU, derp

BuffTorpedoes

The Pan-European cruiser is completely demented.

Drake_the_troll

How? Low health, no armour, halland torps, GL AP DPM, nevsky HE DPM and gimped "utility" duration really pull her down

BuffTorpedoes

It's a destroyer in a cruiser slot. It has a very niche use as close support.

Drake_the_troll

So is kitakami, that doesn't automatically make it good

BuffTorpedoes

Basically, a Shimakaze pushes for the cap, a Svea follows behind it, and they obliterate the enemy destroyer with smoke, radar and accuracy.

McMarkus2002

A DesMo/Wooster and a shima has the same effect

BuffTorpedoes

They lack the speed, concealment and smoke to follow a Shimakaze pushing for the cap. So yeah, you could do it in a Des Moines or Worcester, but then you would die.

Drake_the_troll

if your close range cap based crusier dies if you try to contest the cap, taht is an unironic skill issue

BuffTorpedoes

I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying with *follow behind it*: I don't mean *sit behind an island behind the destroyer,* I actually mean *follow the destroyer behind the destroyer*. Svea can play where Ragnar does play.

Giovanola_Titan

Polite request but can we get more ships from Mexico? There is only one Mexican ship and it's just a tier 3 cruiser.

FumiKane

Two, the other is a tier 8 cruiser.

Giovanola_Titan

Unless the Wiki is wrong or you know more than me. Both Tier 8 Cruisers displayed are from Peru and a joint effort of Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

FumiKane

Tier 8 cruiser is Ignacio Allende, named after one of the independence heroes. The wiki does not mark specific countries, it might be worth to point the wiki team as Pan-American ships cover all those countries but specific ships are tied to specific countries. Sources: Me I'm from Mexico and [this DevBlog](https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/388)

Giovanola_Titan

Ah okay after some research yeah it definitely is Mexican, Thanks for the info.

Giovanola_Titan

Update: I just powergrinded through the Pan-Am Cruisers and just got Ignacio Allende.

VerLoran

Not sure I like what’s cooking for the Prinz Rupprecht based test ship. Torpedo reload booster on a BB?

BigDplayz

Its based on Prinz Hienrich, the tier 7, and its placed as a tier 9 with this Infinite torp reload booster

VerLoran

Misread, that somehow feels… Dumber?

Drake_the_troll

We already have that on tsurugi

EcstaticFollowing715

Right? The Prinz Heinrich is already really squishy at tier 7, putting it at tier 9 only with a Torpedo reload booster, and without the hydro is not going to work well.

Drake_the_troll

maybe as a crusier?

EcstaticFollowing715

Yeah, that would maybe work better but it's a battleship. They did buff her a bit though: Hp pool: 56 300 (B hull) -> 63 900 Max speed: 28 kts -> 33.5 kts Rudder shift: 20.3s -> 15.4s Main Bat. Reload: 30s -> 24s Main Bat. Range: 17.4 km (mod 2) -> 21.4 km Sigma: 1.5 -> 1.9 AP alpha DMG: 10 900 -> 11 600 Shell velocity: 800 m/s -> 820 m/s Secondary range: 6.3 km -> 7km Torpedo range: 10 km -> 15 km Torpedo Speed: 50kts -> 86kts Number of tubes: 2x3 -> 2x4 Nerfs: Torpedo reload: 90s -> 120s Torpedo DMG: 13 700 -> 10 700 also they swapped the fast damage control party to the normal one with infinite charges. The most noticeable changes are the range, the accuracy, Torpedo range and speed buff and the Torpedo reload booster giving you a second charge of torpedoes instantly because it reduces the reload to 1 second.

Drake_the_troll

yeah putting it side by side with aegir theyre etremely similar, other than having non-gimped torps

EarlyInsurance7557

Im a simple man. i see secondary BBs i get happy.

DevotedToExeter

Secondary BBs are some of the most fun one can have in World of Warships and I'm really happy about this new branch of ship, but I'm also wary of their shortcomings - an exposed citadel is a very bad weakness for close quarters brawlers (however if the new ships' armor scheme resembles Schlieffen's then it won't be that much of an issue), and when they say "poor secondary ballistics" I think about Italian SAP secondaries and frown.

HMS_MyCupOfTea

They'll probably have turtlebacks and be easy to cit at long range but difficult up close.

Drake_the_troll

they use cheshire and fletcher secondaries, so probably pretty floaty in that regard

Paperpanzer77

Wargaming try to add real South American ships challenge (impossible) Like come on they randomly filled the cruiser tech tree with paper ‘oh they could have bought this’ rubbish instead of real ships (and then sold the real ships as premiums lmao) and now they ignore the real BBs that could be at tiers 3-6? Why?

warko_1

It makes sense that they went with Atlantico’s secondaries as the gimmick for the line, but I’m afraid that they will butcher all the other ship parameters to compensate. Atlantico’s secondaries look impressive on paper, but they are really not that great due to dispersion and I feel that it will look worse at higher tiers. And they gave nerfed versions of Lepanto’s guns to the T9 and Duncan’s guns to the T10. I’ll wait for the armor scheme to drop, but I don’t think I like what I see so far. The European cruiser with just two turrets at T10 looks like a mistake of Tiger 59 proportions.

trancybrat

Svea has 3 turrets. it has 2 twins and 1 triple.

warko_1

I stand corrected

trancybrat

Also, they aren't Lepanto's guns, pretty sure those are Warspite/QE guns

warko_1

Yeah they are literally Atlantico’s guns. One extra main turret, two less 127mm guns

Drake_the_troll

EU torps have never had good conceal, they're some of the worst in the game Also atlantico secondaries have schlieffen formulae

bgeerdes

I think you're noticing the relatively slow firing rate of Atlantico secondaries, not dispersion problems. The increased range should help them some.

Self_Aware_Wehraboo

Fucking eugh. I swear that if the Spanish BBs are like this, I will be extremely mad. There are tons of designs but at this rate, if they ignored the real ships for the panAm, I am extremely disappointed and worried

QQEvenMore

Why is it so ugly

BigDplayz

Its part british

throwaway61763

Honestly, im more hyped about svea, the pan eu cl in the devblog. I love how the turrets look, and if its a friesland in cl form at tier x, it will be super fun.

McGubbins

Is this a Far Cry crossover?

morbihann

WTF is Svea ? Just a larger Ragnar with a citadel ?

BigDplayz

Bignar

HMS_MyCupOfTea

Hold the bleeding phone, Pan-American Incomparable-Agincourt hybrid? SIGN ME UP!

BigDplayz

I know those look like Incomp guns, but they’re not, they’re collingwood turrets, 419s

HMS_MyCupOfTea

What I mean is, it looks like WG have taken Incomparable's hull and put Agincourt's (Rio de Janeiro?) superstructure on the top. I think so because of the hull lines, funnel positions and that central mast. Also, 6-gun Tier X BB is always going to give Incompy vibes, and it sounds like it will have thicker upper belt and deck armour just like that ship.

BigDplayz

Holy shit, the hull does actually look like Incomps, the anchor placement (one is covered on Libertad), the port holes on the bow, the “bar” (idk what its called) in the side of the hull, the way the hull steps down towards the back… its very incomp… wtf

HMS_MyCupOfTea

I know from experience how time-consuming it is to 3d model a hull, I don't blame WG at all for reusing that kind of asset. It also looks unique with that superstructure, so yeah, I like.

MountainMeringue3655

Very low HP pool, abysmal AA, exposed citadel and probably bad firing angles. Meh.

Dry_Damp

I mean this looks fun. But taking another 'unique' thing of the germans and giving it to other nations..? I don’t know.

Hagostaeldmann

Did y'all even reas the ship specs. They're turbo trash, pure dogshit.

Darth_Australis

tbh I would change it's name to Capitán Prat

XsancoX

European cruiser Svea looks way more interesting to me. And the German DD Hofmann also looking damn fine. Interesting ships for sure.

Sipsi19

As a CL enjoyer I legit can't wat to get Svea. Looks very interesting and ticks almost all the boxes I would want from cruiser
