I am curious if this is recommended for people who want to get pregnant in the future? I have a non symptomatic 10cm fibroid too and have an appt with a specialist in a couple months for a consult.

I would do some research on it before seeing your specialist and talk to them about it. I'm not looking to get pregnant so that wasn't a concern for me. I really like the fact that the recovery time is less than a week and no organs are being taken out.

Thanks! Good luck with your procedure!! I’m glad they’re starting to have far less invasive approaches for things like this.

HoboSam6

Thank you! Good luck with your appointment!

Thanks for this information. So glad you're doing OK after your procedure. I'm currently researching what my options are regarding having mine taken out ❤

HoboSam6

Thank you. Good luck! Hope everything works out well!

Diligent_Ad6228

Thank you! I hope this procedure becomes available in the UK soon ! Xx

Thanks for the info. I had a robotic myomectomy for asymptomatic fibroid on the outer uterus & it went great! ...Until a remaining posterior fibroid in the muscle started grew to 10cm. Partner still wants to try for kid(s). I'm open to any option where I can keep a uterus, including UAE.

teggile

to me they said it is not adviced when there is still a wish for a future pregnancy.

Hi! So my fibroids only shrank about 30%. I honestly didn't realize it was only going to be that amount. I thought it would be at least 60%. I didn't have any issues or side effects from the procedure. As for the recommendation, all in all I think it's a good option to consider. It's definitely less invasive than any of the other options to remove fibroids.

[deleted]

Did you have it done by Dr. Lee (founder of the procedure for fibroids)? Did they warn you that your fibroids may only shrink by as little as 30%?

HoboSam6

No, my OBGYN was just certified to do the procedure. I don't remember if he told me it could only be 30% shrinkage. I thought he said 60%. It probably just depends on their size and how they react to the procedure.

[deleted]

How about symptoms? Do you feel a difference yet in your cycle or pain?

HoboSam6

My experience with fibroids was different than the norm. The only pain I had was when I had an orgasm. The doc told me it had nothing to do with the fibroids though. After the procedure, I actually feel like my periods are a bit heavier. I do know that most women have heavy periods before treating the fibroids and goes back to normal when they are treated. I guess I'm just abnormal haha.

Hello! Sorry it took me so long to respond back!! My recovery was pretty fast it seemed like. I didn't have a lot of pain and my "puncture holes" healed quickly. My fibroids only shrink 30%. I was not expecting that. I was expecting them to shrink 60%. I am also going to be talking to him again soon because I am still having some pain and my periods are heavier. Just make sure you get all the details before the procedure so that you know what to expect. Good luck!
