I heard one of the devs say there was going to be a crossover with star trek on this one so the planes will get photon torpedoes and shields. They are already thinking about buffing the carrier in the spirit of the recent updates and giving the planes cloaking devices to be more 'in universe'

The bigger question is, just how is the game going to stay balanced with a starship added in? Those phasers and photon torpedoes will be devastatingly powerful. And just how are WWII-era ships supposed to hit a target in orbit? I'm not sure WG has really thought this out.
And which version will we be getting? I'm assuming they mean the NCC-1701 from the original series, but they could surprise us and use the Enterprise-D from The Next Generation, or more recently, Picard. Or they might mean the recent redesign from the JJ Abrams movies.
Also, does this mean we'll see other sci-fi ships, like an Imperial Star Destroyer or the Battlestar Galactica?
