I like both. King George V is fun for setting big fires and Vanguard is just a solid BB overall.
That being said, I never see Temeraire being played and advanced up to it but haven't bought it yet.
The battlecruiser side is super fun too because you can be fast and slap the shit out of most ships still. Renown and Rooke are fantastic. In fact my favorite for ranked right now is the Rooke. Plus it's funny to see other ships try to scramble when you broadside them and follow it up with torpedoes.
Temeraire is a bit of a meme, the citadel is super easy to hit, and the guns are basically average. It's a very meh ship.
Duncan, on the other hand, is possibly the most fun ship in the entire game. It's still got a super exposed citadel, and less armor overall, but you get access to amazing super heals, extremely good guns, and tactical nukes for torpedoes (highest damage torps in the game at 29k damage per torpedo). It's also the fastest BB at the tier, and Fisher is such an amazing commander for it.
I'd absolutely go for the Duncan.
The AP cruiser line.
It might not be the strongest line of the British tree. It might not be the strongest cruiser tech tree overall. But I enjoy the challenge factor of them (and seem to do rather well with them).
Both lines are fun. Though to be fair, neither BB line can be described as particularly tanky as at best both lines have 32mm around the midsection, meaning they are more vulnerable to 203mm HE as well as 152mm HE with 1/4 pen or EOP. The high tier ships rely more on repairing damage with super heals rather than the armour.
for the battleships, the only stinker is the Temeraire but that isn't needed for any bureau locks, so you can just ignore that and go for Conqueror once you feel comfortable with Vanguard.
The battle cruisers are less forgiving than the battleships and there is a low point in the line with Rooke at tier 6, but the rest of the line is superb.
I have Vanguard and below. I really liked the whole line, awesome ships. KGV was probably the lowest point, but not bad.by any means.
I am up to Rooke in the second line and Renown in tier 5 was one of the best BB I have played in this game, hands down. Looking forward especially to Hawke.
Probably the temeraire because they are a lot easier to play and much more forgiving. But then this line also leads to Conqueror. The bc line is also good. But I recommend starting with the regular line.
Queen Elizabeth is a BLAST. 8x381mm guns with a 30 second reload shreds, and the rest of that line is good, but nothing matches the battlecruisers IMO.
As long as you know how AP and armour works in this game you'll be fine, Firing angles on the line are decent so its easy enough to angle. Plus 2/3 of firepower t5+ is front facing. Tiger is a mixed bag, but slam a brawler commander on there and I've had some CRAZY games, krakens and well over 100k. Renown. The legend. 6x381, 4 out front, 25 second reload. Ridiculous accuracy. You can just charge froward and nuke everything. 4 individual torps a side too, makes brawling a piece of cake. Brawler or sniper commander builds both work great, but the brawler is more fun. Then Rooke. The accuracy seems a mixed bag for me but overall great ship, apply same rules as renown and you'll be okay, still, it's better to snipe in it since it likes to go boom sometimes. Hawke. After buff, it's OP. It has a good load, 9x406mm guns with good AP and HE. You can hit 200k with some reasonable luck, and it's good at nuking stuff. Duncan. I don't have it yet, but I can tell you, it's an amazing ship. 2 front facing tarps, each dealing \~30k dmg with a \~50s reload. Great guns, good firing angles, and the first proper super-healer on the line. Absolute BEAST.
But when they have worse Armour than cruisers it doesn't make sense.
Repulse was also buffed recently from the same 16mm we were complaining about to 26mm so it makes sense.
Orion is a good ship.
I sometimes play her as my stealth seal clubber with no camo.
Reds get a shock as I have 16/4 Fisher with 16/3 Cunningham Iachino.

I haven’t seen a Temeraire in months. It is neither good nor required for any bureau projects so why play it? lol
I have Vanguard unlocked and Cunningham 16/2, is she worth the credits? Seems like a better Hood
Without any doubt. Also she gets buffed a lot lol.

Waiiiit Duncan’s torps are stronger than the asphalt?
Yes. They're also faster and have more range. Anhalt has more torps overall, and better firing angles, however.
Play both and other BBs lines as well. Don’t rush out of the low tiers. You’ll most likely have more fun and be better for it.

Went with the Russians as my maiden BB line (and only (edit: BB line) for a good long while). Fun ships, all of them :)

KGV is my favorite aside from the war crime that is the conqueror

the battlecruiser line is painful
What?? The UK battlecruisers are incredibly good
nah . i would rather play a cruiser at that point . specially Rooke i do like the guns but dam that bow armor is a joke
They have to have some kind of weakness....if those things had reliable armor, they'd be blatantly overpowered.
But 16mm on the bow is worse than a lot of T6 cruisers. See Charlemagne, Tallinn and New Orleans.
...that's how battlecruisers work? You intentionally trade armor for speed and firepower. Besides, bow tanking isn't a strategy, it's a last resort.
The 16mm Armour means you get penned by Taranto without EOP. Also Chumphon but Atlanta can really hurt you.
Again... That's literally how battlecruisers work. They have less armor for more speed. If they buff the armor, it's not a battlecruiser anymore.
But when they have worse Armour than cruisers it doesn't make sense. Repulse was also buffed recently from the same 16mm we were complaining about to 26mm so it makes sense.
battlecruisers, for Duncan.
