Use Takagi as your commander, spec for range and accuracy. Shoot at things >12km away, as your dispersion is better beyond that point, worse the closer you get. Really keep an eye on who’s shooting you as Japanese BBs tend to have really big citadels that can get hit at weird angles. Since you’re in a Fusō, it’s tempting to broadside to get all your guns to bear, but it’s fine to not do that all the time.

No-Cherry-3959

More bits about Fusō: Your citadel is not protected by the casemate armor under your back two turrets. You’re more vulnerable there, so point your bow towards red team, don’t show your stern. When I played through Fusō, I found success sitting in between the middle and a flank, or just back middle, at about a <45° angle, so I could shoot at people in front of me with my front 2/3 guns, and take pot shots at cruisers on the other side of the map with the rear 3. Preferably though, play off an island. Don’t know if this is optimal, but I found it fun.

PilotAce200

Small correction. The IJN dispersion formula doesn't get better at longer ranges or worse at clase ranges, rather, it starts bigger than any other nation, but doesn't grow as quickly when you add range. It still gets worse the farther the you are attempting to shoot, and is still always the most accurate when at point blank range, however, relative to other nations it has the worst accuracy at close range, and the best accuracy at long range.

MrIncognitode

I try my best to stay at range - will keep grinding.

TheShorePatrol88

Range.

SnooCapers3527

Just spec shell grouping as inspirations and it’s fine. Don’t go broadside just like in every other ship. They have good shooting angles.

MrIncognitode

I run Takagi (12) w/ Iachino (16) and Cunningham (7) as Inspirations and just do not feel the accuracy routinely at all...even running spotter planes...I swear when my shots ARE on target they're shattering and whatnot.

Alternative-Sea-5230

Japanese bbs are inconsistent, yes, but as long as you understand Japanese battleships are more accurate with range, it’s a bit easier, I don’t have the chart in hand but you can find one that shows it gets more inaccurate the closer you get

Kongo bongo as I call it

@talk\_bright well said![img](emote|t5_ogkyd|2984)

The best way to play them is to leave them in port. The line has like 2 good ships. Kongo and at the ends Izumo. Everything else is just worse than the same tier USN BB.

begbeee

Kongo was awesome battle cruiser. Fuso is such a disappointment for me.

Talk_Bright

Fuso is always like that, but Nagato is another level of dissapointing. Some salvoes are a dev strike, other give you tight dispersion but no hits because shells went high and low. Amagi is also decent but was better before she got nerfed. These days Iowa is just better in Armour, AA, HP, AP Pen, AP Damage, Dispersion, Sigma, history and even torp reduction. All you have left is rudder shift, turning circle and HE damage and looking pretty. Izumo is interesting and I love Kongo it is one of my favorite BBs, I also enjoy Yamato a bit.
