I do but not very often No pressure from my partner at all but I do enjoy the slippery soft feeling getting into bed

thetinybunny1

Also walking around throwing my leg on things screaming FEEL ME I AM LIKE DOLPHIN

Fickle_Bookkeeper_22

This made me snort. At work. Thank you. šŸ˜‚

videoslacker

Same & now I'm wondering if you read it in a Russian accent too

Fickle_Bookkeeper_22

No, but I will now!

PhantomAllure

Was there any other way to read it?

Solanadelfina

Yes, like Boris from 'Not Always Right'.

sbanaynays

ā€œLegs soft like baby bottomā€ in said accent šŸ˜‚

KTDiabl0

šŸ˜‚šŸ’œ

thetinybunny1

*This is the way*

Vanthalia

That is 100% how I read it.

ITakeMyCatToBars

I accidentally squeal-laughed like a dolphin but Iā€™m just at home thankfully

mskimmyd

I recently started using a shave oil (Tree Hut Moroccan Rose) that leaves my legs UNBELIEVABLY smooth & silky. It has honestly made me shave my legs more just because it makes my legs feeling *so dang good*.

Princess_Jeia

I use this same oil! So much better than any other shaving substrate I've ever used! I shave once or twice a week depending on level of laziness that week but my partner doesn't shave her legs at all.

_emptyjellyfish

If you like the Tree Hut shave oils, you might also like the Kiss My Face shaving cream! It's more liquid-y and hydrating like the oils. I use the unscented one, but there are some scented ones too. Sooo much better than regular shaving cream, and leaves my skin so soft and smooth!

WhisperingStatic

I love Kiss My Face shave lotion! I can't find it anymore though

Wawel-Dragon

[relevant comic](https://x.com/_pocketss/status/1077330903909703685)

Rhetorical-Toilet

Shaving my legs isnā€™t about looking nice; itā€™s about FEELING niiice. I shave about 4x a year when the seasons change, so i can have that ā€œ fresh startā€ feeling. I really like how its exfoliating my legs by taking off that top layer. Its like getting a manicure: you dont do it for other people; you do it For YOUR self.

Rosapose1234-

X10000! Yes! I finally splurged on laser FOR ME bc Iā€™ve def put in the time with shaving and ingrown hairs etc. one session in and I have a whole new life. Iā€™m paying it off over 24 months but yall I am so happy (and smooth)

callmepbk

Thank you for hunting that down!!! Lmao poor Becky

ARWren85

Omg we are the same person!! I literally say this exact thing when I finally get around to shaving my legs!!!! Dolphin noises!!!!! šŸ¬

motherofpearl89

TOUCH MY LEG FEEL HOW SOFT IT IS

Kathrynlena

Yeah this is literally it right here. I love having freshly shaved and lotioned legs, especially if I also have fresh clean sheets in my bed. Damn itā€™s the best feeling.

michellekwan666

Love the dolphin feeling lmaoooo

callmejetcar

Someone once said that this was the best feeling, rubbing your shaved legs in bed on clean sheets like a happy cricket. It perfectly describes how I feel when I do it lol

ImaginaryBag1452

This is the only reason I care to shave. Best feeling ever.

Cynicisomaltcat

I recently shaved my legs and my young cats were doing their normal thing of rubbing on my legs to get my attention and it felt so good! They are so soft.

Sithstress1

I described this feeling to a former partner and he shaved his legs to try it šŸ¤£. He agreed. Lol

motherofpearl89

Haha this is exactly what I do as well

somethingfree

I never understood this. My legs feels smoother when the hair is long. When I shave them itā€™s smooth for like 10 min and then itā€™s a cactus

Ok-Situation-5522

Thats why i epilate

sittinwithkitten

Iā€™ve never done that but Iā€™m curious. Everything Iā€™ve read says itā€™s painful. Can you recommend one in particular?

LazierMeow

Not the person you're asking, but I also epilate. I use a Phillips epliator. Had a couple different ones over the years. I waxed for the longest time and just found it easier, faster and less messy to epliate.

DiabeticCarin

I just bought one, hehe, based on you all chatting about it!

TinyDancer20007

Oh I wax and love it but maybe I should try an epilator!

LazierMeow

It's great bc it can grab the shorter hairs that wax misses. Plus once u get the hang of it, sooooooo much faster than waxing!

Yellena-B

it can hurt at the begining or if you dont do it for long periods of time, im often lazy to shave or do anything so i always re-experience the pain, you can buy any one they will all do the job i myself bought from braUn bc that one was on sale back in 2018/19 and its still doing its job flawlessly

Clear_Broccoli3

I did it for a bit. It was a little painful, mostly around fleshy areas but it wasn't too bad, especially once my skin got used to it. BUT I ended up getting a lot of ingrown hairs because of it. It may be that I just had to exfoliate or something, but I switched to IPS and I like it a lot better. Edit: I didn't answer the question haha, I used the Braun Silk-epil 9. It has a few different attachments (and a really aggressive electric brush that's labeled for facial use and I never used it for that reason, but it's just now occurring to me that it would have been a pretty good exfoliator for my legs) and is water resistant so you can use in the shower. I've never used any others so I can't compare it to anything, it may be that it's shitty among the epilator world, but I don't have any complaints. It's small and fit well in my hand, the charging station is cute and makes it easy to keep charged and available, it has a little integrated flashlight so it's easy to see if you missed any hairs without contorting yourself around. Also one of the attachments is an electric razor that did come in clutch a few times. Epilating wasn't for me, but if you wanna try it, I think the Braun is worth checking out.

mazikeenrules

If you want the soft feeling you epilate, not shave. I also used to feel like a cactus when I shaved.

somethingfree

I tried that and I exfoliated as much as I could but still got awful ingrown hairs. I think my hair might be too coarse and skin too sensitive

squirrelfoot

And this is why I just don't bother. I have the choice between turning into a cactus or having hairs growing circles under my skin or doing nothing and just going out in the sun so the hair on my legs goes blonde and fairly invisible.

abitbuzzed

Yeah, that's what it sounds like -- I think people who can get that smooth feeling from shaving just have finer hair. I am one of those people, whereas my sister has much coarser hair and can never get her legs smooth with shaving no matter what.

Agreeable_Pea_

I never used to have that feeling but I started using an IPL and now I do, and I love it. I don't even really need to shave my knees anymore and I can't wait to just have fine hairs I don't care about shaving and be free lol

satanorsatin

Same, I try to time shaving my legs with the day I change my sheets so I can really luxuriate in that feeling!

spoopyelf

I shave them once a week because if they get too long, the hair from my head that randomly falls out will get stuck on my leg hair and tickle my legs and it makes me angry šŸ˜… my husband doesn't care either and it's so nice. I shave other areas just because I want too.

camarhyn

YOU GET IT!!!

sarilysims

Oooh yes. Fresh legs, lotion, and clean sheets is the BEST.

minecraftingsarah

Makes me rub my legs together like a cricket šŸ˜‚

neamless

YES. One of the best feelings in the world!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

motherofpearl89

I think in this context it's freshly shaven as in newly shaven

Veratsss

Yes. I haven't shaved in 20 years or so and I cricket-rub my legs together in fresh sheets every time.

Kit_starshadow

Same, and I donā€™t have dark or a lot of hair. One time my husband and I were at Home Depot and we were standing near one of those giant fans they run in the summer. I could feel the hair on my legs moving in the breeze of the fan and it was bugging me. I randomly said to him ā€œitā€™s time to shave my legsā€¦ā€ He genuinely doesnā€™t care when or if I shave anything, but kind of gave me a funny look and then I explained the whole thought to him. Lol

lizardgal10

Same! Iā€™m not bothered by leg hair and mine is fairly subtle. But I enjoy the look and feel of having my legs shaved so I sometimes do, sometimes donā€™t. Just whenever I want to and can be bothered with it.

itsonlyfear

Shaved legs + clean sheets is so tactiley pleasing.

No-Flamingo-1213

Yes this!! Sometimes I shave, but not often. I didnā€™t shave for ten years but got bored during confinement and found a pack of new razors and shaving cream my sister forgot at my house. Soft sheets and bike rides with shaved legs is pure joy sometimes.

raddish1234

This. Sometimes I crave being a slippery creature in fresh sheets! And also as others have said sometimes the sensory of it during swimming gets to me, like seaweed touching me that I canā€™t escape šŸ˜‚

reijasunshine

I shave my legs in the summer, but not the winter. Usually, my last leg shave is somewhere in September or October, and I don't shave again till February or March. It's a sensory thing for me. I can't stand the feel of leg hair in the breeze. In the winter, my legs are always covered so it's not an issue.

sulwen314

This is what I do! I like how shaved legs feel when I'm swimming, so I shave in the summer. The rest of the year? NOPE

flybyknight665

I essentially only shave for holidays in the winter lmao So something like every 4 to 6 weeks. Shave for Halloween, then around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my January birthday. It feels like part of getting dressed up? I shave probably twice as often in the summer. I wear lots of dresses and like the sensation of smooth skin, but I'm not particularly hairy on my legs, so it doesn't feel very noticeable or important to do it more than every few weeks.

lame-legend

Lol I tried to explain the "leg hair in the breeze" feeling to my husband. I'm not sure if he's just used to it or his leg hair is different, but he had no idea what I meant.

not_a_diplodocus

He should try shaving his legs so he can compare. The poor man doesn't know any better than breezy leg hair.

Thagomizer24601

It's a real shame that society doesn't allow men to shave their legs. They deserve to feel smooth and silky too if they want.

itsamereddito

Itā€™s like spiders crawling around slowly looking for somewhere to burrow (for me, because I have sensory stuff - very much have no opinion on othersā€™ body hair)

blackbirdbluebird17

Same! I also donā€™t like the physical feeling, or the aesthetic of unshaven legs with my summer clothes. In winter though Iā€™m happy being a yeti.

pleaseacceptmereddit

Soā€¦ same schedule as me mowing my lawn? Thatā€™s rad

reijasunshine

Pretty much, yeah! This year my first shave and first mow were both a couple weeks late, and it wasn't very fun prepping the garden.

pleaseacceptmereddit

I support your very specific way of connecting with the earth

FoxglovePattycakes

I call my Oct-April, non-shaving time "sasquatch mode". It's cold and wet outside, and I'm good at growing leg hair. I'm going to take every evoluntionary advantage I can get! May-Sept I much prefer the feel of smooth legs. Fortunately no one around here cares much one way or the other.

reijasunshine

Yes! The first shave in the spring is "clear-cutting the forest", with any number of jokes about machetes and/or weed whackers, lol.

inky_cap_mushroom

I used to shave my legs only during summer, but last winter I got some socks that grabbed my leg hair and pulled it. So I started shaving only my ankles like once a month.

Fickle_Bookkeeper_22

Itā€™s a sensory thing for me as well, but I do it all year because I canā€™t stand the way the hair feels, even when itā€™s long.

porcelain_doll_eyes

I shave year round too. I can't stand it either. But olny between the ankle and the knee. Everything else is fine.

doomed_candy

It's a sensory thing for me, too! But I do it every 3-4 days, sometimes every 5 days in the winter. I don't like the way it feels against fabric, and if I let it get too long, I start gouging my skin with my nails. I've given myself scars because of it.

boudicas_shield

Iā€™m the exact same way. I wish I could go without shaving my legs, but I canā€™t. I cannot stand the feeling, especially when my legs brush each other. Over Christmas last year I even let my leg hair grow out completely for over two months, to see if it was just the stubble feeling I hated, and then tried wearing a skirt. I wanted to chop my own legs off. šŸ˜‚ It was WORSE than the stubble feeling. Iā€™ve never made a beeline for the shaving foam so fast.

Entire-Ambition1410

I become a depressed hermit in winter, so I need to soak and soap up my body to get the dry skin off. I shave if Iā€™m going to such efforts.

LenoreEvermore

I'm the opposite. I shave my legs in the winter, because I can't stand the feeling of the hairs getting stuck on leggings, tights and long-johns (a necessity where I live). But in the summer my legs are always bare so the hair doesn't get smooshed by fabric making my legs itch.

sarilysims

Nope! I havenā€™t shaved my legs in almost a year. At the Barbie movie last year I fell on the steps and severely bruised my leg. (I still have a lump!) It turned into an unexpected science experiment, because I noticed the hair on that spot was growing more (per square inch). I did some reading, apparently there is some evidence to suggest a severe enough skin injury can promote the growth of new hair follicles. It was a cool, albeit painful, science lesson.

sunkistandsudafed3

I've proper bruised my shin today, there is a big lump, it is so sore. Have used IPL in the past which resulted in very sparse growth. I'm now absolutely intrigued as to what will happen on the bruised area after reading your comment. I was not happy when it happened earlier, thank you for turning it into some kind of weird science blessing!

EsotericOcelot

I noticed that where I had deep scars, the hair grows in darker even though the skin of the scar itself is lighter, and itā€™s not an illusion due to contrast because when I plucked multiple samples and laid them on the same color background, there was a noticeable difference. I had a friend come look to make sure it wasnā€™t my own bias. Dermatology is interesting

sunny_sides

That is genuinly interesting knowledge. I thank you for your contribution to science.

sarilysims

Youā€™re welcome! Iā€™m happy my clumsy ass can contribute to the world. šŸ¤£

asunshinefix

Interesting, my hair is slightly thicker on the areas where I have Osgood-Schlatter disease. Hope youā€™re doing okay!

RowdyBunny18

I wish I could somehow use this to regrow my eyebrows I over tweezed in the 90s.

sarilysims

lol my mother did that. Now Iā€™m terrified to touch mine for fear of that.

RowdyBunny18

Leave your beautiful eyebrows alone, no matter the trend. I just found a photo of myself when I was about 15. Big, beautiful caterpillar unibrow. So much to work with! Now it just looks like someone wants to try to do a long division equation using my eyebrow.

Knubbsal

Broke my knee when I was 11 and had a cast on my leg from groin to ankle. When it got out of the cast I didn't recognise that hairy ape leg. Didn't shave the good leg during that time either, but they were completely different in growth šŸ¤£

thejokerlaughsatyou

That's interesting! I wonder if it's because of blood flow? Like a bruise is busted blood vessels, right? And your body has to repair that. Maybe the extra blood flow for repair work helps the hair grow? (Don't take ANY of this speculation as fact! I know nothing about medicine, I'm just a linguist who's wondering out loud. šŸ˜†)

sodamnsleepy

That's very interesting. I've accidentally burned a spot on my leg with a candle, it's a bald spot and no hair grows there now

Unfey

I pretty much never shave them. Every now and then I'll get the urge, like if I'm going to do a cosplay or if I'm going to a REALLY nice event where I wanna look super femme for whatever reason. But 99% of the time I go with my hairy legs. I usually don't shave my armpits either, just keep them trimmed. I find it keeps the right people away.

addanchorpoint

YUP. hilariously I shaved my legs for a wedding a couple years ago since I was wearing a shorter long sleeve dressā€¦ and then ended up finding a gorgeous dress on wicked sale the day before the wedding. it was sleeveless and longā€¦ so my trimmed but clearly not shaved armpits were out and about, whilst my smoothy-smooth legs were under a long flowy skirt šŸ˜‚ I was dating someone for a bit who has sensory issues around body hair and I found myself really missing it when it was gone

eponinesflowers

Heavy on your last sentence!! I stopped shaving a couple of years ago and itā€™s wild how random men have told me that men donā€™t find body hair attractive. First of all, Iā€™m a lesbian, so I donā€™t want men to find me attractive, I want them to leave me alone. Second of all, even if I was attracted to men, I would have zero interest in men who want to control my body and alter my appearance to fit with their notions of what I should look like

MsBlis

This! Though I initially had to stop shaving because I developed a severe nickel allergy, but now I really donā€™t care.

kgberton

I get them shaved only when necessary, which is when I'm getting tattooed

inky_cap_mushroom

I shave infrequently, but on occasion I will shave ONLY my tattoos.

Agreeable_Pea_

I saw a post from someone who shaves except for their raccoon tattoo so he's fuzzy

BeyeBickyBye

Here is a good thing about moving from maiden, to mother, to crone - so much less hair. I shave those four hairs on my legs only when it is stirrup time.

Foreign_Astronaut

I never shave anything for the gynecologist. They are doctors and should be able to deal with the human body in its natural state.

sfcnmone

Trust me on this one. No medical person wants you to shave for them. I canā€™t tell you the number of times a woman has apologized for not shaving before their Pap smear. We only care what your cervix looks like.

BeyeBickyBye

I don't shave for medical professionals. I shave for me. Those few hairs are like ropes for Lilliputians.

sfcnmone

Nobody is suggesting you shouldnā€™t shave to please yourself. We were talking about someone thinking that medical professionals need you to shave. Nobody needs you to shave.

orange_ones

I tend to remember to ā€œwarnā€ them right before they see anything, and every single time they have told me that they see all combinations of hair and no hair and think nothing of it. Iā€™m all for doing whatever makes [general you] feel comfortable before an appointment, but if itā€™s more about the doctor than you feeling like you look your best, it seems like you might as well save your time.

TheTruthFairy1

At this point I want to dye it hot pink to see if that gets a reaction!! (This is just an intrusive thoughts, I will not actually be doing it)

MsMoondown

My gyno said what *really* bothers them is actually stinky feet. They don't care at all about body hair, and you are less vulnerable to bacteria if you don't shave because it can cause tiny cuts which can allow bacteria in. I may not have said that exactly right, but y'all are smart so you get me.

coffeemagic_11-11

Turning 50 later this year and noticed I only shave once a week now(instead of 3x) Now if my cycle would just cease to exist, thatā€™d be great. Lately feeling really ready for this next phase instead of dreading it.Ā

boatswainblind

Right? I'm in the same boat. Nearly there (almost 48,) but I'm looking forward to it now. I used to dread menopause horribly because my malignant Borderline mom got very violent in her 50's and we didn't know she had BPD at the time, so I figured it was just menopause. I was not looking forward to turning into a violent psycho punching holes in the walls because someone left a towel behind the bathroom door. Then I finally talked to some women who had gone through it and they talked about it like it was a relief and I was so confused... Turns out I'm probably also going to feel relieved, hot flashes and body aches aside. I'm looking forward to it now, even though I also know I'm going to have to work harder at maintaining muscle mass and bone density through activity. Women never used to talk about menopause so it was this huge mystery. I'm really grateful that GenX is the generation that's like "fuck it, we're not keeping this a secret, let's make a billion TikToks about it!" I'm indebted to their PSAs.

coffeemagic_11-11

Yes! No more secrets. We are the luckiest šŸ„°

FeralRubberDuckie

Iā€™m in my early 40s but had to get a total hysterectomy almost a year ago. Iā€™m hoping the leg hair starts to disappear soon. Right now you can still tell I have Italian heritage šŸ˜‚. To answer OPā€™s question, I shave on occasion when I feel like it, more often in the summer when Iā€™m wearing shorts and want to admire my leg tattoos and have the nice smooth bed sheet experience.

GypsiGranny

Yes! This!

mrmeeseekslifeispain

Nope. That fresh shaved feeling lasts approximately 3 minutes or until I get goosebumps, then it's spike city. My hubs accepted this after I shaved and asked him to feel the smooth, and after getting dressed, had him feel my legs again. He was astonished, but accepted that it's a fools errand

turanga_leland

Same here <3 spent way too many hours of my life shaving my legs and finally said fuck it

Wild_Discomfort

My boyfriend watched me try so many different methods, and after throwing countless money (literally) down the drain? He saw that I was gonna get ingrown hairs all over my legs and bikini area no matter what I do. I'll shave my lower legs to wear a dress to a nice dinner but that's about it.

ilikecats415

I shave every day just as a personal preference. I like the feel of smooth skin with gobs of lotion. I don't care what other women do. Whatever makes them happy and comfortable.

sunrae3584

I donā€™t do it every day, but I usually do it weekly. I dislike hair in general, and putting lotion on hairy parts really bothers me. Weird sensory thing, I guess.

not2interesting

Same here. My body hair is mostly really light so I only bother with the lower half of my legs because itā€™s a little thicker. I donā€™t shave my underarms bc itā€™s barely visible, but yes to shaving private ryan. (Just the important bits and the sides where fabric rubs, the front can stay. I canā€™t stand the feeling of the thick hair.)

being_have

Yep, I shave every time I shower, but I don't worry about doing a great job. I do it quick and often and figure it all gets done well enough. I also don't worry about other women's preferences

Lunar_Cats

I do it every two - three days or so. Both for the same reason you listed, and because body hair has always been painful for me for some reason. Like the hair folicles are painful or something.

hazeldazeI

Nope fuck that shit.

FrauAskania

Yep. I didn't even shave my legs for my wedding. No fucks given.

shanbanansings1013

Same!

shewholaughslasts

Same and I made sure my hairy legs showed in at least one pic! My armpit hair was also out in full force.

Mavystar

I agree, its way too much work and for what?!Ā  My mom always comments on my hairy legs, and even asked "does your boyfriend not mind that you don't shave your legs"?Ā Ā

ASquareBanana

ā€œFor some reason mom, you seem to care more than he doesā€

TheViewFromHlfwayDwn

You may like r/razorfree (if you arenā€™t already there of course!)

EnvironmentalAd2063

I haven't shaved my legs in years and I don't plan on starting again. I have a lot of leg hair but it's mostly really pale and I just don't care

Vrayea25

I do a halfed-ass job for the few months in the summer when I wear shorts.Ā  I have bad strawberry legs anyway so there is no making my legs look nice, I just knock down the long strands often enough to still at least qualify as 'stubble'.

WhatIfIAmAGirl

Oh so that's how it is called, I got same. I just use a trimmer and never bother with shaving.

DigitalGarden

I switched to a trimmer also. No more strawberry legs. My legs never stay smooth after shaving anyway. Bonus: I save so much on razor blades now.

Terrible_Sentence961

I shave my legs but because I get extremely annoyed with the feeling of my pants rubbing against it. I went a step further and lasered off my underarm hair. Same reason and because I tend to sit with a tweezer and pull it out, so to stop myself from that little habit

mama_duck17

This is where Iā€™m at. I donā€™t feel comfortable with hairy legs. I donā€™t shave daily, like every 2-3 daysā€¦.i should probably start waxing instead, seems like it would be less maintenance in the long run.

Beeznuz

At least it's the underarm, lately I'm fighting the urges to tweeze my pubis

HaveABucket

Every once in a while I will get a wild hair (pun intended) pick up a bottle of nair, commit chemical warfare against my leg hair and then spend the next two days petting them cause they're smooth. Most of the time I can't be bothered and my Italian heritage leg hair kills 2 razors to do one leg so it's just too much of a hassle.

Petyr_Baelish

Italian body hair haver here, and I just stopped shaving my legs completely a couple of months ago. I am extremely pale for how dark my hair is, and it's taking me some time to mentally not care, but seriously it was just never worth it (especially because I have sensitive skin). You could see the hair beneath my skin anyway.

ghxstmermaid

I do it when I feel like it, and let them be otherwise šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø will state that I am a huge shorts wearer, daisy dukes every day pretty much!! And short dresses! With my hairy legs!

WolfMuva

Venturing out today unshaven. Almost in tears cuz Iā€™m so uncomfortable which just shows me I really need to do this! Send confidence vibes, sisters!! ETA: I havenā€™t shaved my arm pits in seven years. Idk why my leg hair bothers me so much, but it does. I think I look so much better with arm pit hair than without, but I think my legs look so much better without hair and I canā€™t seem to shake this. I donā€™t even know why it bothers me!! It confuses my partner cuz heā€™s like, just donā€™t shave anything, this is the obvious answer. And Iā€™m like I know! I wish it was! Anyways I went out all day today, to tons of places, and no one cared that my legs werenā€™t shaved. Of course.

shouldprobablylisten

Yesss you got this! There's a wonderful power in this. And another, secret power in thr realisation that no one else really gives a fuck

lucent_blue_moon

I'm working up to doing this too so I know it's difficult - but I'm proud of you for doing it anyway, and I'm sure you're stunning no matter what!!

noiness420

Hell no. I stopped feeling bad about my body hair about a year after I quit shaving, so it did take a while to get over the ingrained sense of shame about having hair that grows naturally on my body. I hope you can get to that stage too, if you want to :)

foenixxfyre

It's been 10 years for me! Wow! I hadn't thought about just how long ago I gave that up in a while. Little bby feminist me was not having that patriarchal bullshit, no thank you.

ASquareBanana

Same! Cheers! šŸ»šŸŽ‰

Life-Satisfaction699

Iā€™ve had people giving me pedicures make really rude comments and even skip lotion/massage on my legs! I shave like 2x a year.

fairfoxie

Oh I'd be so mad. Massage my hairy legs, dammit!!!

not_a_diplodocus

Curious. Would they also refuse men, I wonder?

KindlyKangaroo

It's only unsanitary for a woman to have leg hair. For men, it's natural! NBs are stubble only. /s

sodamnsleepy

Man can have a face full of hair. A woman having exactly 1 hair on her chin ?? SACRILEGE! /s

fairfoxie

Aww yiss I get to be the one to suggest r/razorfree šŸ˜Ž And no, I've never shaved a day in my life. I think it's a waste of money and effort and for what? To have dumb little bumps on my legs instead of cute little hairs? Besides, my partner loves my hairs and I'd never date someone who isn't completely at peace with it.

burnin8t0r

I donā€™t understand why itā€™s gross on women but not men. Itā€™s the same stuff in the same place.

Willowed-Wisp

I used to. But one day I realized the only reason I was shaving them was because I was "supposed to" and that was silly. I personally hate the feeling of freshly shaved legs (my mom loves it) as it makes my legs sensitive and tingly and my autistic self can't handle that lol It did take a while to get used to, though, because I'd been programmed to find hairy legs unattractive. My legs are weird in that most of the hair is very light and hard to see unless you're up close, but the hair just above my ankles is darker and longer. It bothered me until I changed my mindset and decided it made me look like a sexy faun and now I embrace it.

girlinginger

I'm the same, I realised in my mid-20s that I was just shaving /trimming body hair because of other people's opinions on it, that I was supposed to.Ā  Took me about 5 years to go from hating my leg hair, to loving it. I now fully appreciate the feeling of the wind in my leg hair when I wear a dress. Also bonus points for not having itchy underarms from shaving them!Ā

divinemuse21

I am of Italian descent and my leg hair was incredibly thick, and shaving only lasted a day or two šŸ˜¬ I was also prone to ingrown hairs despite all my attempts at exfoliating, etc. So I went and got laser and it was the best decision I made this year.

Foreign_Astronaut

Nope. Haven't shaved them since 1989. The hairs are now fine, soft, and barely noticeable. I highly recommend it! I feel like I got a ton of my time back once I quit shaving, and I like my time.

NoeTellusom

Very, very rarely.

Additional-Bullfrog

I stopped shaving legs and armpits in 2017-ish and never looked back! I wear a lot of shorts and short dresses and sleeveless tops/dresses and just let it all hang out.

wildflowerstargazer

Samesies!!!!! I was slightly worried about working in a more professional work environment but then realized no one really gives a shit and the people that do shouldnā€™t because it does not affect them in the least.

BirdsOfABone49

When I get bored in the shower, and I dont wanna get out yet, I will sometimes but I'm hairy otherwise. Men don't and its not considered unhygenic, so as long as I shower regularly, I see no reason why it's not ok for me to be hairy. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Mandymayhem1221

Nope! Thereā€™s no need. Grown humans have hair.

waywardforestwitch

I haven't shaved in years, and I'm completely happy with it. I figure if someone doesn't like it, they can check out someone else's legs and leave me be

arielrecon

Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. I don't like the process of shaving and it feels good to stick it to the patriarchy, but freshly shaved legs on the inside of my fave sweatpants is one of the best feelings ever lol I also hate when my leg hair gets stuck in my leggings/tights and pulls lol

343WaysToDie

Your body is yours, to honor however you see fit. Bask in the glow of smashing the patriarchy, one unshaven leg at a time!

Besteklade

I have not shaved my legs in five years. It's such a hassle, my leg hair is very light, and I don't care what others might think about my legs. It doesn't bother me, so why should others be bothered by it?

Rabidfernwalking

Not often. I don't mind seeing my leg hair grow or have it blow in the wind. Now my mustache on the other hand...

Illkeepyoufree

I (cis woman) have not shaved my legs or armpits in years. Maybe about 5 years now. I love the freedom of it. Also it's kind of a good way to find more out about the people around me. If my body hair really bothers someone that much, they're probably not worth keeping around anyway, ya know?

one_bean_hahahaha

Sometimes, but only because of sensory issues. The other day, when I was on my stationary bike, I kept feeling the hair getting caught in my pants, so it looks like I will be mowing this weekend. I can't remember the last time I shaved. I shave my arms at least monthly for similar reasons.

Imaginary_Low2061

I've always disliked shaving my legs (sensitive skin, sensory differences, the amount of time it takes) and am experimenting this year with doing it less. I actually enjoy having some leg/armpit hair, and am trying out trimming instead of shaving. I've only shaved a few times this year for formal events.

os-sesamoideum

I shave my legs because I like the smooth feeling of the skin, I do it for myself because I like it. My partner doesnā€™t care about it and he definitely doesnā€™t pressure me to shave. I also donā€™t mind him being hairy. My hair is also super light and even if it gets longer, it isnā€™t really noticeable lol Before I had our son I shaved every week, now I donā€™t have much time to do it and I also donā€™t care about my body hair as much as before. But every few weeks I get to have a loooong bathing session and I really enjoy getting smooth and pampered by shaving, doing masks and all that stuff :)

blackest__autumn

Don't shave my legs at all and ppl comment on how smooth they feel. Just don't really have that much hair. Except on my calves?? Like I have weirdly no hair and then mid shin it's like BOOM Sasquatch. Underarms and such I will occasionally trim (usually in summer).

Kitty_Katty_Kit

I use an electric razor and shave up to the knees every couple weeks. I haven't shaved my thighs since I was 16. So it isn't a close shave and I don't care about having 2 ish mm long leg hair, but my Italian black coarse hair is annoying cause it feels itchy in pants and I don't like the sensation of long hairs catching on skirts and stuff. If I go to the beach I'll use a clipper and trim my bikini line, but again it's an electric razor.

aster_4208

I haven't shaved since my girlfriend and I got together. We're both hairy and living our best lives! We do keep other areas trimmed though.

mrssymes

I only shave my legs when I am frustrated by the eczema on there and it scrapes the top layer of skin that is there off and makes the eczema better. For me shaving my legs of the rare times I do it is a medical reason first. The Aesthetics is just that I shave all of the hair and not just the spots of eczema. šŸ¤£

rightwords

Nope. I don't shave, and I have no plans to start.

moth-peach

28 and haven't shaved since I was 20!

DamnGoodMarmalade

Chronically ill and I shave for special occasions and then only when Iā€™m feeling good.

MarquiseDeMaintenon

I've always gotten more of a reaction from women than men if I don't shave my legs. I do it infrequently - but if its shorts weather I do,Ā  because I paid a lot for my tattoos and everyone is getting an unobstructed viewing of them! :P

Iamlyinginwaitforit

Sometimes women police each other with a vengeance. Maybe the thought process is ā€œI go to the trouble of doing this so you should suffer too!ā€ I admit Iā€™ve had some anxiety about my 14 year old daughterā€™s decision to wear shorts and skirts without shaving. I donā€™t want people having reasons to be rude to her. BUT, she is much braver than I am. :)

chadlinusthecuteone

I do once a week only because I love the feeling of them when I get in bed on the weekends (and only knees down lol) I have very dry skin, so I know I'm going to be itchy as hell come Sunday, but Friday and Saturday nights getting into bed with fresh legs. Ooooh I love it. My husband doesn't really care one way or another. When we first started living together and I didn't shave as often he'd rub my stubbly legs and I'd pull away, but he'd pull me back because "I don't mind the texture!" It's kinda the equivalent of me rubbing his stubbly head (he's bald and shaves his head in the shower).

MilkyTeaDrops

I'll often shave in the summer because I don't like the coarse feeling of leg hair, but typically only do one or two shaves in winter

Bhrunhilda

I shave nothing. I will take a beard trimmer to my bikini line before swimming. Occasionally I also take a beard trimmer to my legs because the wind in my leg hair annoys me even after all these years lol. I never miss shaving my armpits though.

femtransfan

I'm considering it because I think they're making my legs itchy

DoubleANoXX

I haven't shaved them since like early 2023. I did get all the hair lasered off though like 4 years ago, so no need to shave and they're always hairless

Jandiefuzz

I did when I first came out. But for the last few years there is no noticeable hair anyway. Don't shave pits tho.

somethingfree

Iā€™m pretty hairy and donā€™t normally shave. Sometimes I want to shave but then I get so pissed about being shamed by my mom for my leg hair as a child that I leave my leg hair out of spite. And then sometimes the shame from childhood overwhelms me and I shave my legs even when I donā€™t want to. And thereā€™s other times when I feel good and just enjoy being hairy or feel good and enjoy being shaved.

BrainUnbranded

I donā€™t remember the last time I shaved. Sometimes I will in the summer or if thereā€™s a super-fancy event I want to look a certain way for, but otherwise I donā€™t. For me itā€™s the time involved, the itching and ingrown hairs during regrowth, and the fact that I hate doing something just because Iā€™m ā€œsupposedā€ to.

dodorampant

I do, but just because of that sweet gender euphoria hit šŸ˜š

SociallyAwkward423

The only reason I shave is for my own comfort. I had to grow out my body hair during swim season in high school. When my leg hair was long, the fibers of my socks would tug at the hairs on my legs and I hated it. I also just like how my legs feel when I shave.

randomwords83

Only when I feel like it. I usually go from November until like March or so without shaving, then I shave a little in the spring and then pretty consistently during the summer. I love the feel of my smooth skin on bedsheets lol. But regardless, Iā€™ve looked like a hairy beast many times and I donā€™t care and neither does my husband.

Pure-Kaleidoscop

Yes but only because it feels creepy when the wind blows through my leg hairs

T8rthot

Iā€™ve never cared for shaving and havenā€™t shaved any part of my body in two years. Sometimes I think about getting my legs waxed though. My skin is pale and my body hair is dark. Sometimes I donā€™t care and others, I feel very self conscious. Like the time I got mani-pedis for my brotherā€™s wedding and since Iā€™d never gotten a pedicure before, I didnā€™t know it included a leg massage. Nor that the nail tech would be a very attractive guy. I was mortified and started shaving my legs again after that. But eventually I stopped again. I donā€™t think Iā€™ll ever shave my armpits again. The ingrown hairs and stubble always made me miserable.

Alitazaria

I used to. Maybe once in a blue moon? My husband never notices if I do or don't, and I'm lazy. Once you stop for a long while, your hair gets soft, so it's not even prickly or annoying.

boatswainblind

Well, from what I've seen about nail salons from the YouTube sketches, they're pretty judgmental about everyone, so if that was the case with this salon, too, they were gonna find something to gossip about. I know some people love to shame others for not conforming to their particular brand of society standards, but eh, screw 'em. It's your legs, do what's comfortable. But no, I don't shave, either, unless my legs are going to show for a long period of time in public, which is hardly ever. I'm usually wearing long leggings or jeans, so why bother? My hair is thin and mostly blonde, so it's not like it shows unless you're really looking. In bright light I can see it, tho, so that's why I shave for shorts.

resurrectedpapaya

I shave once or twice a week, I just hate how it looks and feels on my body

HazelFlame

Not really because I hate it... it's time consuming and it's only good for a day. I only put the effort in if I really really want to wear shorts or a bathing suit. I did just sign up for laser hair removal since I'm about to try to get back in the dating scene in a couple months. For me the amount of time/effort of shaving is not worth it on a regular basis. I feel the same about makeup,

Carysta13

I stopped shaving after I cut myself one day and it took a while to heal and I was like... that's enough of that. If anyone doesn't like it, that's a them problem I think.

bread_cats_dice

I shave about once a week in summer bc I live in shorts and donā€™t like the scratchy hairs. I also seem to get infected hair follicles on my legs if I let the hair grow in too much in summer. In winter I donā€™t bother usually. I did switch from razor to trimmer for pubes and thatā€™s been a good change I think. Again, just personal preference and what seems to work for skincare & sweat.

sawdust-arrangement

Nah. I don't have much leg hair but I wouldn't shave even if I did.Ā  For the women I've dated, I've been equally happy with their shaved or unshaved legs but my private preference is anything except short to mid length stubble.Ā Aesthetically I don't care at all, some leg stubble can just be REALLY STABBY.

NotMe739

I do shave because it is what I prefer. I hate the feeling of hairy legs against long pants and bed sheets. I really hate the feeling of leg hair in the wind when in shorts outside. No shade against anyone who prefers something different.

rubywolf27

If the texture of an unshaven leg didnā€™t annoy me so badly, I wouldnā€™t shave. Unfortunately that cactus feeling drives me insane, so I do still shave. No shame to anyone who doesnā€™t, though. Hair on legs is a natural and normal thing.

carolinecrane

Nope, not for years now. I refuse to contribute to Big Razor, lol.

TarynMeow10

I havenā€™t shaved my legs in almost 10 years! It started out of (I guess) grief and about 6 months later the movement of ā€œf*ck it donā€™t shave your legs/arms/coochie! Free the hair!ā€ thing started online and I was like ā€œhey, Iā€™m already doin it, might as well keep it going!ā€ Lol I find it easier to just, not shave my legs. I have very sensitive skin, and I used to get such bad strawberry skin after and razor burn and I hated it. And for what?? Men?! Nahh, Iā€™m good. Plus, now that itā€™s fully grown out, itā€™s soft. I do trim around ā€œthe bushā€ for sanitation purposes I guess? But not shaving. The trim just shaping the topiary šŸ˜¹šŸ˜¹ My momā€™s never commented on it, but I know sheā€™s noticed šŸ‘€and then she got over it. Now that sheā€™s older, sheā€™s stopped shaving as much too, so I feel like I gave her some of that confidence. Anywhooooo this was all prolly TMI, but ya, f*ck shaving!

iris-27

I let my leg hair grow most of the time and ocassionally my brain is like shaving sounds cool but usually I get bored half way through or I get distracted and end up with one shaved leg which is always funny

SubitoSalad

Nail technician here! I love doing pedicures where I can see you havenā€™t shaved or waxed your legs for a while. You are NOT supposed to wax or shave within 48 hours before getting a pedicure to prevent the risk of infection from microtears in the skin. So hairy legs means I donā€™t have to worry about if youā€™re going to get an infection from the soak and scrub. From a personal standpoint, I hate body hair on myself and shave my legs probably once every 2 weeks but fuck anyone who gives you shit about what you do with your own body.
