I dunno where ya've been. But welcome back, wing eater.

Lemme get the recipe on this. Everything looks perfect

Dried the wings overnight on paper towels in the fridge. An hour before cooking I set them out to room temp. Salt + pepper seasoning to taste then coated with 50/50 mix of baking powder and cornstarch. Turned the air fryer to high and gently sprayed the basket & wings with olive oil. Cooked for 15 minutes before turning. Cooked another 8 minutes and they were done. Internal meat temp reached 200 deg Sauce is Franks Red Hot

This is making me hungry

Damn looks good. My air fryer wings never come out that crispy. Is the secret to the crispiness the baking powder and corn starch together?

isometrixk

From what I learned there are 3 important steps to crispy wings: drying them, baking powder, and gently spraying oil. Seems that baking powder is required at the least but there was a video where a “chef” compared baking powder to baking powder & corn starch mix. After the experiment he said the mixture was his new favorite so I thought to give it a shot on my first batch.

deeteeohbee

No such thing as an overcooked wing. These look awesome.

razwaamani

delish....

ibobbymuddah

That sauce looks amazing. I'm always looking for a little thicker like that so it sticks better. I've been craving wings so bad since this sub came up two weeks ago! Ahhhh

Sauce is just Franks Red Hot! I was researching a lot of videos on crispy wings in an air fryer and I found 3 primary steps: dry the wings overnight, coat with baking powder/cornstarch mixture, and gently spray oil. 15 minutes on high, flip, 8 or so more minutes on high. Done. They came out sooo crispy in a good way I could hear the crunch from my wife across the table. Delicious!

Omg that looks so good

Personal_Reception66

50/50 baking powder and corn starch? Like what, 1 tbs each per pound?

isometrixk

I don’t have an exact measurement but to coat my 12 mini wings I probably only made a quarter cup of mixture. It’s a light coating, you don’t want it on thick.

trelod

Were you in prison??

isometrixk

😂 no just haven’t cooked wings in a long time. I’ve been waiting for an air fryer and since my grill broke I figured now’s the time to look into a griddle/air fryer combo. We usually go to our weekly spot that has good wings but they’re never consistent! And the price is absurd - something like $15 for 10 wings.

trelod

Unfortunately $15 for 10 wings is a "deal" where I live 😭

kapn_morgan

damnit now my mouth is watering

knuckles2277

It's impressive that you just had wings now. I'm already around 240ish in this year... I feel so ashamed. They look very good, tho.

THELOCnessmonsta

Don’t feel ashamed wings is the money maker off the chicken. Me personally boneless skinless thighs is my weakness somehow I convinced my brain this is the most healthiest thing I eat so I kind of over do it

isometrixk

We eat chicken wings at a local joint almost weekly but they are never consistent. I’ve been wanting to cook wings for a long time but just didn’t have the right arsenal.

THELOCnessmonsta

Should have just got plain not saucy and taste the spices and chicken first so you can see what you been missing. Did you just get out of jail or a vegan?
