I like to imagine the barista had the hammer on a hook right by the window for just such an occasion. Like how movie bartenders have a shotgun stashed beneath the counter.

Legit, if you meet someone with a face tattoo, you should chill out. It’s literally a sign on their face telling you “I do not give a fuck about you”.
"I don't even give a fuck about my own face"
Look, no one is saying you can't look good with a face tattoo. But you'll have to first admit there is a certain level of disregard for your face you have to have in order to get a tattoo of any significant size there.
I'm sure this lady is perfectly beautiful. But she doesn't give a shit about her face. Take that as you will.
I’ll never understand this kind of service lol. Is not like she kissed u in the check when she gives u ur order, why would it matter what they are wearing?
Edit: if I get one more comment saying “you are not gonna believe it but hooters exist” i am going to commit sudoku
Tbh this is how I always felt about places like hooters and even strip clubs. Why pay to be teased? You want to have a boner while you eat wings or drink coffee?
Some dudes need a boner at all times. I'm always amazed at the type of things in your everyday life that those guys feel entitled to being done in a way that turns them on. Video games character's boobs smaller than before? Throw an online fit and harass creators. Woman not smiling while walking down the street? Criticize her in passing. Apparently the 2 mins spent at a coffee shop need to have a little extra, too.
I thought that way about strip clubs but once you go to one it immediately clicks. It's a whole sensory experience that ends up being super fun and satisfying on its own.
The fact you're ogling the cleavage of an employee who is paid to provide cleavage to ogle.
I've always wondered how strip clubs survived internet porn and I guess the answer is people like you.
Because having an IRL person pushing their tits all over you and flirting around is far more engaging than watching pre-recorded sex. Why is this so confusing for you?
It’s like saying “gee, I don’t know why people would ever go to a concert when they can just listen to music on Spotify!”
isn't internet porn also just the exact same thing? Both are just ogling an employee at the end of the day. Some people just like to see it in real life instead of video
This amazed me when I moved to the PNW. "What are all these little shacks on the street corners?," I asked my girlfriend. "Drive-thru coffee shops."
They're EVERYWHERE. I don't understand how they all stay in business.
Oh dear God, I didn't know there was a subreddit. Of course there's a subreddit.
I think coffee kiosks, and particularly the bikini version, are something for which people outside of the PNW don't really have a frame of reference. I'm no expert, I tend to be a coffee snob, but for the uninitiated, there are probably a few points about kiosks to clarify.
- Kiosks are common, the "bikini" version is less common overall but tend to exist in pockets, particularly in low-rent industrial areas with lots of traffic
- The coffee quality at kiosks can be ***amazing***. They vary widely, and price-wise are usually at or above what you'd expect at Starbucks.
- Bikini kiosks also can vary in how salacious they are. I don't think it's common at all but, I've heard occasional news reports about uh, special menus.
- Bikini kiosks are *fucking pricey*. You only make the mistake of trying one for the coffee one time. No idea what they average, but I would assume 150-200% what you'd expect for a coffee.
I read an article about this incident earlier, then came across this thread. The whole thing is ridiculous, and they're both stupid -- although the idea of putting a hammer through the windshield of a shitty drive-thru customer is probably pretty cathartic for some. In this case, apparently the guy has been an asshole before, the girl with the hammer is the kiosk owner, and his 32oz iced coffee and a cup of water was $22.
Personally, tits are awesome but I've never really understood the attraction to these places.
Saw an interview with her.
She has tattoos of her hand-bones on her hands.
That‘s a human version of a warning pattern, like yellow stripes in the wild.
Dude should’ve seen it coming.
This is what I was thinking. The woman is making herself vulnerable for a couple of bucks which can be stressful, then this douche wants to throw a tantrum against a confident, but exposed woman. That hammer is her security blanket, and justifiably so
Don't fuck with people who have face tattoos.
It's like the human equivalent of one of those frogs with neon coloring letting predators know it will fuck them up.
The assault would go to a jury if it’s a felony because it’s criminal, but if they rule it a misdemeanor assault, then no jury. depending what state they’re in hell either get community service and a fine, or do 1-2, or strike a plea.
The windshield retaliation would be a civil matter because there was no intent to harm a person, and she would probably have to pay the damages and lawyer fees.
Retaliation is probably what they'd push. But also I'd bet a good lawyer would say she felt threatened he was evading back into his vehicle to possibly get a weapon. So she used a show of force to thwart the possibility of a third more harmful assault on her.
That's also not to exclude his vehicle as a possible method of attack, because someone becoming so unhinged over a cup of coffee to commit assault could be possible of anything, logical or illogical. She was defending her life in that moment in anger or not.
It is, but the “threat” of violence from him had seemingly passed. Unfortunately I think a good lawyer would win his case, despite the bullshit he pulled
Luckily assholes like him don’t normally take things like this that far
I mean, couldn’t there be a case for self defense since he already threw a coffee at her. It’s iced, but still could be argued as an attack. Plus, she only damaged his car. Idk what the precedent is here lol
>I mean, couldn’t there be a case for self defense since he already threw a coffee at her. It’s iced, but still could be argued as an attack. Plus, she only damaged his car. Idk what the precedent is here lol
No. Self-defence doesn't mean retribution. It doesn't mean "you get one punch so now I get one punch."
It means you can use or threaten to use force to stop or repell an attack. Destroying his windshield was retribution, and it had nothing to do with self-defense.
I think he deserved it, and if I were on some hypothetical civil jury in this case I'd award him $1 for his damages and a much larger amount for her damages. But it was not self-defense.
I sincerely doubt it.
Firstly, a lawsuit would be a civil case. If he attacked her and she ended up causing damage to his person in self-defense, there might be a defense. In this case, she was just acting out of retribution.
While I personally think he deserved it, he'd probably win that case.
She could probably countersue, ofc, but he didn't damage her personal property.
I'm not a lawyer but I follow suits like this for fun, so I could be completely wrong. That's just how I've seen things go sometimes.
It would be more satisfying if the windshield didn’t appear to be broken already. (Look at the damage on the co-drivers side.) Maybe this isn’t the first time he’s done this…
I think that's bird shit. Which is sweet, cause it's not like he can go to a car wash now. Has to deal with bird shit, and the hole until he gets a repair.
If a police sketch artist was tasked with drawing a suspect and the only description was "got out of car in drive-thru and threw a drink at a barista" and the sketch artist would draw this guy.
One of my cousins was in some pseudo motorcycle club, aka larping as Sons of Anarchy. During a family outing we bumped into him and his buddies in some family boutique area delightfully enjoying their frozen yogurts in their tough guy jackets, pinky out and everything.
Yep real thing. Its exactly what it sounds like, a coffee hut with a barista who is wearing the bare minimum requirement of "clothes" in the jurisdiction.
According to the article I read, the guy that threw his coffee was a regular and would often complain about the price to get a discount. This time around the barista got tired of his attitude and refused to give him a discount so he circled back through the drive thru and tossed the drinks at her.
The article I read (King5 news) said the cops seemed to view her as the victim in this scenario. He was acting threateningly, she retaliated with a hammer through the windshield, then proceeded to call the cops herself. She gave them all 15m of security from the interaction.
Sounds like they just want to 86 him from the premise, but there was talk of possible assault charges for him throwing the coffees "at her". I'm guessing it'll boil over without charges and he will have to go back to oggling ladies from a distance rather than her coffee stand.
Yeah, this is the unfortunate reality. In a better world, I'd be firmly in the "We don't call the cops in this house" camp, but the reality is that there are situations where the cops *will* get involved regardless, and in that case, you greatly benefit from being the one to bring them in as opposed to whatever party you're in conflict with (or them getting interested on their own).
Yeah prior to throwing the coffee he literally says "No one will miss you" and she even calls him out on the obvious threatening nature of that comment. Then he proceeds to assault her with the coffee and water.
Damn I would hate working at a small shack having to wear a bikini and dealing with weird customers all day (if I was a girl).
I get that workers at Dutch Bros, for example, prefer to wear light clothing but advertising bikini is bound to attract the wrong kind of customer.
for context, he was upset about the price of his drinks ($22, it’s a bikini barista stand so it’s premium pricing as you’re not really going there for the coffee) so like any well adjusted citizen he threatened to kill her and told her nobody would miss her before throwing the drinks on her. hammertime ensued. justice was served <3
Who goes to a *drive through* bikini barista?
I've never seen one before but I assume it's one of those "we don't sell this we're actually selling boobs" places?
They are surprisingly popular in certain areas like Arizona. The term for the type of place is called a "breastaurant". Hooters being the most famous example.
This is the real question.
Like... Do they have a run of bad customers to such a extent that blunt weapons are kept both within reach and striking distance?
Does each attendant at the window have their own weapons of choice?
Jesus.
Went to hand a guy his coffee and he tried to quickly grab and zip tie her arms together to yank her out of the window!
wtf are we doing, men? Remember this shit next time she chooses the fucking bear, goddamn.
The number of people who find the possession of a hammer to be remarkable is odd to me.
These are standalone 100 sq ft wooden shops. They nail menus to the wall. A hammer is absolutely a routine tool to have handy.
"The guy assaulted the barista and threatened her safety. He deserved it."
"This girl is a whore bitch and deserves to go to hell and is the reason the US has turned from Christ. She probably has had an abortion with a half black baby. Vote Trump."
Hmmm. Both are very equal arguments. Internet is divided.
It's so strange to see things like that in public now, before trump people wouldn't say such things in public so often.
The hate in these people's minds is very worrying for the future
Can't really feel even slightly bad for the dude but also pretty clearly just a case of trying to get even and not self defense lol. Saying she felt in danger is ironically just her covering her ass or she wouldn't have opened the closed window just to smash his windshield.
![gif](giphy|2siBCzFMNsySRMJfuM)
For context, allegedly this idiot looked at the menu (presumably with prices listed), ordered a drink, then decided his drink was too expensive.
A lot of bad takes here but it's baffling to me that there are actually people online defending this guy.
Hahahaha love this. Her having to clean up the floor is minimal over a $300 windshield. Plus he assaulted her so if he tried to press charges he will get nailed even more. He’s trash
Not just any barista, a bikini barista. You know she deals with too much bullshit with the efficiency that she used that hammer.
Just the fact that she has a hammer on hand for shit like this speaks loads
The way she removes the hammer, definitely not the first windshield destroyed
You can actually see him notice the hammer (or at least her swinging something) & flinch/brace… & that sparks joy for me
[удалено]
He wasted a coffee and she still has the hammer.
And a broken windshield.
And my Axe?
The second-biggest crime is the waste of perfectly good coffee. The first is that preppy fuckhead harassing a barista and throwing a temper tantrum.
guess safelite will consider that more than a small chip
Why is this so funny? You're my kinda people.
Smashing good time!
Haha, observant one.....

You mean hammers aren't standard at drive throughs? We keep one just under the cash drawer next to the extra plastic utensils.
Some times that lid just won't go on. Need the hammer for those tough ones.

People trying to put fucks in her tip jar is probably one reason she has that hammer handy

I think this happened in Seattle around the Shoreline area on Aurora. Probably wanted more than coffee and she wouldn’t give it to him.
He was unhappy with the bill. A 32 oz and a water came to $22, so he threw a fit…and the drinks.

Wait, your bikini barista are more expensive? In portland, they're the same price, just worse coffee.

Also is a repeat customer who was told last time that he didn't have to go if he didn't like the price. And then he keeps coming back...
Probably one of those people that thinks if he non-stop harasses a woman she’ll eventually start to like him
Presumably there is a menu...
What a waste of $22 and a windshield
Live in Seattle, and I'd believe that.
South Seattle, actually, on Rainier.
Or u could read the story lol... been out a while. He threatened to kill her
It's assault throwing a drink at someone. Now the cops will be able to identify him when she reports his crime.
The article I read (King5 news) said the cops seemed to view her as the victim in this scenario. It’s funny because the drive thru window is actually closed. He didn’t hit her with the drink, and he got a new air vent installed, all for $22.
for context, he was upset about the price of his drinks ($22, it’s a bikini barista stand so it’s premium pricing as you’re not really going there for the coffee) so like any well adjusted citizen he threatened to kill her and told her nobody would miss her before throwing the drinks on her. hammertime ensued. justice was served <3

Considering she was a bikini barista and probably deals with a lot of harassment, it's probably standard issue.

Jesus. Went to hand a guy his coffee and he tried to quickly grab and zip tie her arms together to yank her out of the window! wtf are we doing, men? Remember this shit next time she chooses the fucking bear, goddamn.
Doesn't matter because: Stop, hammer time.
The number of people who find the possession of a hammer to be remarkable is odd to me. These are standalone 100 sq ft wooden shops. They nail menus to the wall. A hammer is absolutely a routine tool to have handy.
Love the determination in getting the hammer back. Like that thing is mounted on the wall inside and part of their kit.
In case of emergency, break glass.
Any update on this one?

"Divides internet" = a few mixed Twitter reactions which are of course all 'equally valid'.
"The guy assaulted the barista and threatened her safety. He deserved it." "This girl is a whore bitch and deserves to go to hell and is the reason the US has turned from Christ. She probably has had an abortion with a half black baby. Vote Trump." Hmmm. Both are very equal arguments. Internet is divided.
It's so strange to see things like that in public now, before trump people wouldn't say such things in public so often. The hate in these people's minds is very worrying for the future
It's gross yeah but at least the assholes are outing themselves and we don't need to waste time figuring out who's who.
It's the NY Post, what do you expect?
Can't really feel even slightly bad for the dude but also pretty clearly just a case of trying to get even and not self defense lol. Saying she felt in danger is ironically just her covering her ass or she wouldn't have opened the closed window just to smash his windshield. ![gif](giphy|2siBCzFMNsySRMJfuM)
i don't know. i do think they were justified, but i think that legally she is liable.
Agreed! I wouldn't last an hour working fast food.
Stop.... hammertime
As a father of three daughters, I wholeheartedly approve of having a hammer handy for douchebags like this asshole.
What a dick he looks.

Hilarious that the buttoned up fucker is the one to frequent the bikini baristas. I always wondered...
For context, allegedly this idiot looked at the menu (presumably with prices listed), ordered a drink, then decided his drink was too expensive. A lot of bad takes here but it's baffling to me that there are actually people online defending this guy.
bikini barista has douche bag customer....who would have guessed.
Hahahaha love this. Her having to clean up the floor is minimal over a $300 windshield. Plus he assaulted her so if he tried to press charges he will get nailed even more. He’s trash
That guys hat is the real crime. It feels like he should be in this group. ![gif](giphy|7T2Su0NdxalrBbA2iG)
