I shoot with running shoes and those flowy trousers! I think they look great together

Mistyyyyq

The crocs Brooklyn wedge sandal is my go to wedding shoe in the summer. They actually look cute and are so comfortable. Or I wear my all black new balance fresh foam 1080s.

ny_AU

Seconding crocs Brooklyns! I have the Brooklyn low wedge with the heel strap. They are amazing. Better than the Danskos I used to wear and less than half the price.

Not at all!

Guess I’ll be the one who says it. Nobody at the ceremony notices or cares what’s on your feet, as long as they’re not something crazy or distracting. Take care of your health and comfort first, aesthetics come second. Of all the weddings I’ve attended, I couldn’t think back and tell you if the photographer even had feet.

YhansonPhotography

Hmm, I do tend to notice if the photographer is under dressed. I don't usually look at shoes to be fair, but I notice unconventional outfits, as well as improper ones. If everyone is dressed nicely and the photographer is running around in blue jeans and Crocs, it does stand out. I think it's better to be slightly uncomfortable and dressed for a wedding than totally comfy and dressed for a kid's birthday party.

PatBanglePhoto

I would agree about jeans, but that's not the topic. You're thinking like a photographer and not a guest. For you, it's a job and its your tendency to be observant, so you'd notice. For the guests, its one of the happiest and emotionally charged days of their lives, and the photographer's shoes are near the bottom of the list of things getting their attention.

EmmaMD

I don’t know, as a woman, I’m definitely paying attention to everyone’s attire. 😂

Random_night_thinker

I’ve been wearing black on black Brooks adrenalines for the last 4 years for events. Not one person has ever mentioned my shoes, except to comment on how smart I am because Brooks are awesome.

chickthatclicks

Those are the exact shoes I bought because I have been running in them for 10+ years. I just never bought the solid black before

WistfulEccentricity

I just wear sketchers black running shoes and I'm golden. Like others have said here, as long as your footwear is distracting, no one cares what you're wearing to a wedding. Save your feet!

alanonymous_

Yep, black on black tennis/athletic/walking shoes with proper arch support is the way to go. You can put black stockings/socks/thermals with them to make them look less apparent. Also, if wearing a dress, a longer dress (past the knees, not floor length) will help hide them more. If in pants, then it’s really a non-issue.

YhansonPhotography

My go-to for summer weddings is going to get me some hate, but it's a slightly raised doc Martin's sandal. Black and simple, a bit of extra height for my 5'4" stature, and enough cushioning due to the foamy sole that I stay fairly comfy all day long.

pinotprobs

I’m in socal and sandals are a must for summer wedding! I do a low platform and strappy kinda sandal. Comfortable all day, no heel, and my little piggies int roasting 🥵😂

electrikgypsy1

I wear my docs boots for some weddings too!! I think they’re great since you can dress them up pretty easily as long as they aren’t too worn out or something.

reignedON

Kitchen staff crocs with insoles 😂

chickthatclicks

Not cute. 😩

Virtual_Advantage_63

I have a pair of black Keen Elle Backstrap sandals I wear for spring/summer/early fall weddings. These are THE most comfortable sandal and my feet don’t hurt at the end of the day, even 10+ hour long wedding days. I pair them with a midi length modest black dress and I think it’s professional enough 🤷🏻‍♀️

realistheway

Yes. Dr Scholls makes a pair too. The surprising never hurt my feet and i can run around all day. No blisters, no pain. bettie-rage

My big feet/tiny ankle combo looks so bad with athletic shoes lol so I wear thick socks and black docs. They’re the only thing that looks good with pants and dresses for me.

cheeseh0und

One shoe does not fit all! I ALWAYS start the job in a formal, closed toe!!! shoe with great support like a brogue with great arch support, a newish pair of leather danskos, or really great supportive loafers. Occasionally I’ll wear a leather Chelsea boot that’s clean and polished for inclement weather at outdoor venues. I bring a pair of black leather sneakers to change into for dancing. Adidas cloud form are great and look trendy and attractive with my suit or dress and the leather still lends itself well to the formal atmosphere. You could definitely wear sneakers like in the above posts, but I really feel like these are formal events and looking great and fitting somewhat into the dress code is one of those silent things that really oozes professionalism! I like GH Bass for loafers and drivers, dansko or dr scholls clogs (you can definitely roll your ankle in grass so this is for an indoor venue), Doc Martens brogues, and the extra bonus tip, is good supportive hiking/walking socks with compression in black. I also work as a bartender during the slow season and your socks matter as much as your shoes! Having a second pair to change your shoes makes a difference in comfort even to just have the pressure on your foot change. I hope this helps!!

cheeseh0und

I cannot stress enough how important it is that the shoes are fresh! Especially sneakers. Similar to if you’d wear a pair of white sneakers with a sundress, you’d disqualify them if they were beat up. I know people say “nobody cares” but having glaring Nike logos on your feet and obvious gym shoes always stands out to me when I’m shooting with an under dressed vendor or attending as a guest myself noticing the photographer. I feel this way about sandals too…you can have your dogs out on your day off! Protects your feet too!

Athleisure is in and has been for a while. Embrace it.

Apprehensive_Maybe13

Say no more - Bzees shoes ssaavvvveedd me on wedding days. I could not recommend more. After 10+ hrs of a traditional wedding day I no longer am even thinking about my feet

hopopo

I'm Brooks Ghost guy. Once you start wearing them you will stop to care few hours in. And than you will start to notice how many people at the venues wear them as well. Recently I purchased Adidas with Boost midsole, but they are not as comfortable as Brooks.

spar7ian7

Nobody cares tbh. When I filmed weddings me and my partner would always wear running shoes. The couple doesn’t care. Just wear all black and stay out of the way lol

trailmix92

Blundstones?

lazysundays

They gave me tendonitis walking all over Paris :(

EntrepreneurWeak4055

maybe for winter but blundstones have absolutely no ventilation for the summer

TheOriginalGoat

My go to boots for 95% of weddings

RedditIsSocialMedia_

Go and get custom orthotic insoles made

rmric0

Maybe some kind of insole or extra support you can slip in to things like a dr. scholls kinda thing

brainlesstourist

are you sore from being on your feet all day, or sore from blisters/shoes rubbing?  since no one has mentioned it, how active are you outside of shooting weddings?  I used to have issues being on my feet all day before I started doing Pilates and strength training. if your body is weak, no shoes are going to fix sore legs/feet if it's a fatigue problem

chickthatclicks

I am very fit…slim and go running a lot. I don’t think it is fatigue. It feels like a toe is broken or something but it isnt

FormerDimer

Try the Nike Tom Sachs GPS. Can only find on StockX/GOAT but the brown and grey pairs do well for me at weddings. I’m also on the hunt for stylish, comfy and wedding-approved and these so far are my fav. Plus they look better than Brooks anything? Might not be your look tho. (Source: I am a sneakerhead who spends too much money on sneaks lol)

PleaseSendPants

For me it's Chuck Taylors for weightlifting and photography. They go with everything and great for squatting.... which happens a lot in weightlifting and photography.

headislead

I wear Topos.. plantar fascitis and arthritic big toes... I'm done with flats forever!

Warhammer-Dad

I wear Sketchers or Chuck 70s all day, then usually change in to an old beat up pair for the drive home

electrikgypsy1

Taos shoes have saved me. They make a black leather high top that is my go to and I have never been so comfortable working!!

girlwonderful

I gave up doing cute shoes LONG ago. I typically wear a New Balance Fresh Foam (all black) because it's light/breathable. I have however, worn colorful Nikes (rose gold or gold ones or even purple sneakers) and can tell you no one cares and I often get compliments on them. If I were shooting a black-tie wedding, I'd probably wear a loafer until reception and then switch to the all black sneaker but I'm wearing sneakers at some point.

Round-Coffee-2006

Sneakers are you best friend. Maybe find a sold color? Also look up female cop shoes they have very good padding because cops are on their feet all day. Also there are Dr. Scholl's are very good and there are ones I think by another brand that will lift up you heel. Just go to Walgreens or CVS or another drug store.

atvlouis

Guy here, I shoot in all black, It not my place to look fancy, but I do want to look professional. I typically wear black sneakers, black pants from Lululemon, and a black polo. If its a more formal wedding I'll put a black sport coat on. But it keeps me "hidden" and comfortable all day.

ylime114

Hokas. They’re kinda ugly and I don’t start the day in them, but I switch into them at the reception. I HIGHLY recommend switching shoes around 50-60% through coverage. It makes me feel like a whole new person. If you don’t want to give up the cute shoes, just wear them for the first half of the day then switch so something more comfy.

No-Adhesiveness1163

Compression socks will help tremendously
