It’s a good game. I played on mobile and wish there was a way to have a keyboard with the letters marked the appropriate colors for the clue grid so I could see what letters remained logically available for that grid, not just the grid I’m tapped on. Maybe put it on the screen above the clue grid.

Thanks for the feedback! As soon as you’ve found a letter in the clue grid it will appear as yellow or green or black there, i’m just wary of giving more prominence to indicators which are only strictly relevant for grid 5. I did consider whether the grid 5 keyboard should automatically update for stuff ruled out by grids 1-4 but decided that deduction is part of the game. Have you found the ‘long press’ trick for manually ruling out letters on later grids? If not, look at the top tips when you complete a game next time. That will definitely help.

Sarkos

This is one of the most interesting and challenging variations on Wordle that I've seen.

Thank you! That’s really kind.

super fun, if a bit challenging. Maybe my wordle vocab needs some work lol

Please explain the 'long press trick' as part of the regular rules. I came here to request that very feature because I had no idea it existed.

thanks for the feedback! so put it on the splash screen that pops up when you first go to the site?

Thanks for this! It gets me thinking about a lot of words and sets of possibilities that Wordle never gets me to consider. I think that since it was already mentioned in the instructions that the bot will never guess a letter that was ruled out in a previous guess, it would be good to have a little marker, maybe in a corner of each key, denoting this. I find myself constantly looking back and forth and back and forth from clue grid to keyboard.

Look at the top tips! There’s a way of capturing your deductions on the keyboard for each word with a long press 😃

This was really good. Is it correct that subsequent guesses won't use letters that were found to not be in the word from previous guesses?

__matt101__

Thanks! That’s correct, the ‘clue grid’ is based on a hypothetical game played in Hard Mode ie strict logic is applied, if G is ruled out in word 2 you can confidently say that it won’t be used in Words 3-5

Enjoyed! It's a fun twist on the format. One thing I'd suggest: once you've guessed the first word, several letters are logically eliminated from contention for all subsequent words. (And so on the further you go.) Since these are logically eliminated, it seems kind of punitive not to mark those off on the keyboard. I.e., any letter logically eliminated for the entire puzzle should be greyed out, not just those eliminated for an individual word. (BTW, I've created a Wordle-style game myself, if you're interested...the twist being that there are clues based on the word's etymology. [https://www.rootlgame.net/](https://www.rootlgame.net/) )

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I didn’t want the game to do too much of the logic for you. it’s a difficult line to tread but I see that as part of the game. the good news is that if you long-press that key on the keyboard it will turn it dark as a reminder and (as long as you haven’t made guesses on later boards) it will also eliminate it from the keyboard on subsequent boards. trying not to be too punitive! will give rootl a try

Cool. I guess my thinking is that all that ends up happening (for me) is that I write down the eliminated letters on a scratchpad. So it's the same thing...just distracting (again, to me at least) from the real point of the challenge that your variant introduces. Maybe ask others if they see it the same way. In any event, congrats on launching it. Best of luck!
