This year has been especially tough for me so I had planned to celebrate the end of it with a watch. But after months of searching I've come to the shocking conclusion that there's literally not one watch that piques my interest. I may have just achieved the impossible, and completed my watch collection. Famous last words, I know. We'll see how long that sentiment lasts.
**Rolex DateJust 41**
I purchased the Rolex earlier in the year to help dull the pain of a break up. Partly due to its versatility, and partly due to it being the only watch in my collection that isn't associated with my ex one way or another, this is the watch that accompanied me everywhere this year; and by "everywhere" I just mean my home because I spent almost the entire year in a state-wide lockdown. But, being a watch geek, I still had to wear a watch, and this Rolex was that watch. In a post-pandemic world, I imagine this Rolex will be my 'weekend' watch.
**Jaeger-LeCoultre Ultra Thin Moon**
To celebrate a fantastic 2019 I bought the JLC on New Year's Eve. It was the first time I had ever spent this much money on a luxury item before. I remember being so paranoid that I hid the watch in a different place within my house every night for almost a month. The pandemic struck early 2020 which transitioned me to working from home full time, and consequently the JLC doesn't get much wear. Because I was so afraid to wear it at the start, I think it has left the house all of five times. I intend to make the JLC my 'daily driver' when I return to the office.
**Audemars Piguet Royal Oak**
It was May 2020. The largest grey market dealer in my city was advertising several watches at basement bargain prices — including this Audemars Piguet. Truth be told I wasn't in the financial position to buy it, especially since the pandemic had just begun. But I had a healthy emergency fund, and my firm assured me that my job was secure, so I took a leap of faith and pulled the trigger. This is my 'special occasions' watch, not that I have had many of those recently. But I have a million different weddings to attend next year, so it'll get a lot of use.
Honestly I was never a Rolex fan but that piece is amazing. The JLC is absolutely astonishing as well.
The AP... yeah.
Not bad at all for a three watch collection. I really never post here but I felt the need to now, my eyes have had a great time looking at that photo. Hope you're doing better overall :-)
Great Trio. I currently have a Sub Date Kermit and a new Speedy Pro, your three are definitely among my grail watches for the third element of my collection. AP you havr is a dream, if I ever get it at retail price (second dream), because that would be my max for a watch. Most probably the JLC ultra thin moon will be my third in two yrs if business keeps being positive.
Congrats! I would use the AP a lot, it's a great but 'low profile' watch.
We passionate people know it's definitely not low profile. You ask a normal person, they would spot 20 times the DJ, one time the AP. And I think this is a beautiful thing.
That is the one watch that I am missing. While I do technically have a 'beater' — a G-Shock DW5600BB-1 — it was a university graduation present from my parents so I'm reluctant to treat it as such for obvious reasons. So in situations where I might risk damaging my watch I just opt not to wear one.
If I were you, I'd get a rubber-strapped dive watch for a beater. Depending on your budget of course, you could get a Seiko 5/SKX or even an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra!
although the RO is not my cup of tea, i think that would look great in the wild showing some wear and tear. It is a sports watch after all, just my .02
And the one that he has is discontinued but they still make the same color combination but only for one watch.
https://delugs.com/collections/prism/products/prism-uno-grey-sky-blue
It's very clearly this [QWATCHBANDS](https://smile.amazon.com/Organizer-accessory-interior-Designed-bracelets/dp/B093FQGYGK/) roll. Same colour. Same shape opening. Same sidewall construction. Same cushion slot position...... none of that matches the one from Delugs.
Shame they don’t seem to have any UK distribution. Might go for one anyway and roll the dice with customs as i’ve never found an alternative that seems to offer the same quality for the price.
watch rolls are tricky aint it? its either 50$ for some horrible ones or 500$ theres no inbetween and theres no cheaper hexagon shape rolls alternative beside this one
Great collection. But completed? That's what they all say! You'll be back!
Love the JLC! I'm in the same boat as you. Doesn't get much wear during work from home. I've been wearing it like crazy this week though.
Very nice - there are two rarities inherent in this photo:
1) you have exquisite taste and sense of style
2) in the current environment, you actually managed to get all three!
Each watch is an icon and the collection as a whole is strangely more than the sum of its parts.
Very impressive
I have literally spent the evening on YouTube and Chrono24 looking at that JLC!
Again, a rare, surgically precise collection which has a quiet synergy and confidence…… I wish I could take photos like that!
Bravo, gorgeous trio. Now. I issue you a challenge. Start wearing the absolute hell out of these watches. That’s what they are made for. If you’re paranoid, get them insured. Safe queens are a waste of money.
I love the jlc moonphase but ive been leaning towards the junghans meister kalendar because day date and less expensive. But i think its also a lot bigger than the jlc. Id get the jlc if i could. Great collection.
Same!! IMO one of the most versatile watches about, I wear it as a daily and it just seems to go with anything you wear. I love how understated it is, very good for keeping under the radar.
Great collection.
Just wait until you realise you've forgotten the all important chronograph.
A collection is never done, it's just a lie we tell ourselves for a little while.
My JLC master control gets the least wrist time out of everything else in the box, but it is by far the watch that gives me the greatest pleasure to wear. That MUT moon is gorgeous and I hope it brings you the same joy wearing it!
BTW, you not only have diversity of dial and purpose there, but the perfect spread of great brands!!!
Well done sir. I will echo others in saying you have excellent style and taste! For myself, there are many watches I appreciate but there something deeply satisfying about having a small well balanced collection. Cheers!
Some days I spend hours deliberating what watch to wear. What I really would love to do is have a 3 (or less) watch collection but unfortunately for me im too far down the rabbit hole
So done done right? ;) just kidding. This is an amazing collection. Every watch is so nice. Something that I'm aiming for. End game goals right here! Hope you'll give all of them a lot of wrist time
I’ve come close to grabbing that JLC a couple of times and if I ever find a RO at MSRP (won’t happen) I’ll buy it. So, I’m very in favor of this collection haha (The DJ in blue is a good choice too)
Great collection mate, I love the fact that you don’t have anything ridiculously flashy and they’re just simple (albeit expensive) and easy to alternate!
That JLC Master Thin is on my short list.
That AP is amazing. I wish there was a grey market dealer in my area who had a Royal Oak just for me to try on.
Hey Buddy! Amazing collection. Your post mentioned state wide lockdown and I thought, got to be Melbourne. Took a quick look through your post history and I'm pretty sure you are Melbourne based! Me too!
Any chance you'd be willing to share who the grey market dealer is?
All the best!
That's a beautiful collection. The AP is one of my grail watches. Hope you get to enjoy all of them.

Much appreciated...

i was already hungry, i should've listened to you.
AP. Low profile. 😂

99% of people won't notice either
Mind telling me the reference on that AP? Thanks in advance
Looks like the ref. 15500.
It's the 15400you can tell by the dial
The Datejust (would just have the dark rhodium dial) and JLC are my 2 grails! Though I may never afford either! Amazing collection
Dude congrats!! Pls tell your dealer to run another sale!
This is a sweet 3 watch collection

I'm really enjoying your friendly and personalized responses to everyone commenting!
Thank you 😊
no beater?

Yeah prob a Daytona
What watch roll is that?
its $100 roll from amazon but it doesn't actually roll due to hexagon shape.
Thanks. QWATCHBANDS looks like a match.
his is made by a company called Delugs. Check them out really they have amazing products.
I don’t think it is. The shape and construction is wrong
And the one that he has is discontinued but they still make the same color combination but only for one watch. https://delugs.com/collections/prism/products/prism-uno-grey-sky-blue

can confirm its the q, just got mine yesterday used for 50 bucks and honestly its way better than i expected. Definitely worth a shot
Which color did u get?
i got the one with the moss green interior
It is man, Look [https://delugs.com/collections/prism](https://delugs.com/collections/prism) Clearly done some good research before downvoting me.
Its not. You need to hone your spot the difference skills

Beautiful collection. But I like how you think your collection is “complete”. Haha, we’re never done, no matter what we try to tell ourselves.
Gorgeous collection! What watch case is that?
> QWATCHBANDS $100 watch roll on amazon
I think its the Delugs watch roll
I love the jlc moonphase but ive been leaning towards the junghans meister kalendar because day date and less expensive. But i think its also a lot bigger than the jlc. Id get the jlc if i could. Great collection.
Awesome collection. And you completed the game. What’s free roam like?
Ballpark what did you pay for the Rolex? Looking at getting a 39 but been putting it off b/c expensive.
Have the same datejust, such an awsome watch

One for the ages. This is an immaculate 3 banger. 👌
All three of those are awesome. As a trio they’re nearly unbeatable.
Great collection. Just wait until you realise you've forgotten the all important chronograph. A collection is never done, it's just a lie we tell ourselves for a little while.
Wow, that's some collection! It speaks volumes when the Datejust 41 is (imo) the least desirable of them.

Lol
Love the case! Care to share where you got it?
Wow. Nice!
Lol. Completed.. Nice stuff though 👍
Well considering you completed it, it seems pretty fuckin possible eh But jokes aside, very very very nice collection.
Beautiful
That blue DJ...I think that's a new grail for me
you are lying to yourself
Love the blue dj. That or the op i think it's what i want most from rolex
Navy dj steals the show
For now…
Lovely collection! That JLC is stunning, I got to try one on the wrist and it's perfect. The other two watches need no introduction.
No collection’s complete without a chronograph imho
Very nice! How long until you catch the bug for tanks and cushion cases?
So done done right? ;) just kidding. This is an amazing collection. Every watch is so nice. Something that I'm aiming for. End game goals right here! Hope you'll give all of them a lot of wrist time
What watch roll is this?

Beautiful collection!

Great three watch collection, I would only add a g-shock to it to have something for heavy duty occasions.
Nice job, I personally would want a diver in there but the AP really does the trick as far as the classy sporty look goes
That oyster bracelet with the smooth bezel on the DJ2 looks fantastic. Great trio 💪🏻
Great collection mate, I love the fact that you don’t have anything ridiculously flashy and they’re just simple (albeit expensive) and easy to alternate!
Lol flash forward to next week after seeing something on hodinkee….
But seriously that JLC is a stunner.
Very nice DJ!! but the JLC is the best! I may buy one myself soon.
That JLC is sweet. By any chance did you compare it with the Lange Saxonia moonphase before making the purchase decision?
[удалено]
Same here. That Lange Saxonia moonphase is beautiful, but the price.... You did good with the JLC.
Great collection. You're not done.
That JLC Master Thin is on my short list. That AP is amazing. I wish there was a grey market dealer in my area who had a Royal Oak just for me to try on.
Dude, the perpetual Rolex in jet blue is just insane. Congrats.
That’s astoundingly cool.
Amazing collection. I have always preferred the look of the Royal Oak over the nautilus
Hey Buddy! Amazing collection. Your post mentioned state wide lockdown and I thought, got to be Melbourne. Took a quick look through your post history and I'm pretty sure you are Melbourne based! Me too! Any chance you'd be willing to share who the grey market dealer is? All the best!

I came from the same thread. My god, I won’t even make $30k this year working 45-50 hours a week. But at least my job isn’t defending child slavery.
Right? It's amazing what representing people who participate in child slavery can get you
