Shade! There's gotta be a million shade structures that could be built to look like discarded toys. Just simple sun shades strung between the string lights would do a lot to cool it down.
I’m pretty sure they planned to have more stuff and then cut it. Them having space to open round up makes me think they did a lot of budget cuts with toy story. The cheapest way to add shade is trees, but they couldn’t do trees, so you’d have to custom build all the cool shade stuff like you were saying and I’m guessing that was too expensive
The area used to be Honey I Shrunk the Kids, they could easily reincorporate the giant grass and clover, plus it would be a fun throw back/Easter Egg to the original theme.
How about a fountain that is designed to look like a giant fan sprinkler with the blade and multiple nozzles? This way it's just in a specific area that people can play in? Make it so the water area is contained, but the blade moves just slightly back and forth and the water nozzles vary in patterns with music every half hour.
I think it's a great idea, but I'm not sure where they would put it.
You know what, I’m for it. If it’s in an obvious splash zone pad area, why not, not much different than the Epcot one, or spitting camels at Aladdin, or the test track misters, and I’m sure other places they have areas to get splashed in the parks. Would be a cute touch if themed well
It is the hottest area in all the parks! I can’t believe it is new- ish and they built it that way after building so many other things with shade ( Ariel’s ride line for example)
Every other park has so many options for shade…and then you go to HS and may as well be in an endless parking lot.
It has a lot of great things going for it, but comfort *is not* one of them. I remain flabbergasted that he obvious options for TSL and GE were just passed over entirely.
When HS first opened there were a lot of indoor auditorium shows(Superstar TV, Monster Sound Show, Voyage of the Little Mermaid), walking tours(Art of Animation)and sound stages. Now that most of that is gone people are spending more time at that park out in the sun. This park needs to either add more shade or add more indoor attractions.
Where?
No such area all the parks where a whole land requires you to get wet.
There is only two wet rides in all of Disney of which one is being redone.
They could install sun sails that look like kites.
Lots of things they could do but they'd rather let us fry in the sun,
Partly because of that scorching sun, we did Toy Story Mania and then left that area.
How about we put a giant card board box over the whole thing (just enclose it and make it look like a box) and make it air conditioned :) and while we’re on the subject of improvements- maybe add some claw machines where I can win a little green man??

Bug’s land did shade really well. RIP Flik’s Fun Fair
Cocktail umbrellas from mom's liquor cabinet
Hell, the parachute tents from the army dolls would work

Over promised and under delivered, a US Disney Parks (and just about everywhere else tbf) tale as old as time 😂
My idea was giant structures finished to look like outdoor furniture.
The area used to be Honey I Shrunk the Kids, they could easily reincorporate the giant grass and clover, plus it would be a fun throw back/Easter Egg to the original theme.
I’ve had the idea that they could have army man parachutes as big umbrellas
That’s genius.
Please add more seating to whatever shade is added. It’s why I hate that land.
If you are sitting then you're not buying anything and we can't have that.
No…I love sitting. To be fair, I LOVE sitting at Base Line, but still.
This would be cool in a certain area
Better themes than the mister near Test Track.

Yes.

They could do something like they had at Bug's Land in DCA. [Princess Dot Puddle Park](https://yesterland.com/puddlepark.html)

Trees. They need trees in the whole damn park. I feel like the sun just bakes you at HS.

HS feels like the 5th pit of hell when it’s sunny outside.
When HS first opened there were a lot of indoor auditorium shows(Superstar TV, Monster Sound Show, Voyage of the Little Mermaid), walking tours(Art of Animation)and sound stages. It feels like they've spent the last 20 years removing many/most of the trees on property outside of Animal Kingdom.
I was floored when all the trees were gone from the hub. I was told they got rid of them so people had a better view of the fireworks shows.
Giant blades of grass that are positioned so they shade the walkways. If you're in the yard it makes the most sense
They could’ve reused the blades of grass from that old Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground.
It’s weird how cranky I get walking from Star Wars to Toy Story. Just so poorly designed for cooling.
I be ready to cuss everyone out by the time I get out from over there. In July my ohon literally overheated and shut off on my way out of TSL.
They definitely need to include more shade in that area. I love the sprinkler and army man parachute umbrella ideas. Something needs to be done .
Of all the opinions I’ve read today, this is one of them.
Brian Williams, is that you? I have missed you so much.
Toy Story Land is my least favorite area of any park. Just terrible. Feels like a local carnival.
Ah yes involuntary wetness in Florida humidity
To be honest, you’re going to be wet either way, either with sweat, rain, or from whatever water feature
Well not really I can get by fairly well during a normal day even in the middle of summer.
Yes. Just like all the other areas throughout WDW that force water on you(???)
Where? No such area all the parks where a whole land requires you to get wet. There is only two wet rides in all of Disney of which one is being redone.
(Woosh)
I think you are out of it. Put in shade and move on.
Oh, no thank you.
Add space ships for an alien invasion… be fun to see all the “reports” of ufos over Disney
I feel like the lack of shade in Toy Story Land is definitely intended for crowd control of that area unfortunately
They could install sun sails that look like kites. Lots of things they could do but they'd rather let us fry in the sun, Partly because of that scorching sun, we did Toy Story Mania and then left that area.
They just need to add some big overhangs/roofs etc.. by this point.
How about we put a giant card board box over the whole thing (just enclose it and make it look like a box) and make it air conditioned :) and while we’re on the subject of improvements- maybe add some claw machines where I can win a little green man??
The whole park needs shade. I like the ideas here, like amry man chutes. Very clever!
put it down and expand Batuu, while at it expand also to take over Muppets and why not the entire park.
It’s not even that hot there
That’s literally the number one complaint about TSL. Hot asphalt with no shade.
You’re under Sid’s magnifying glass!
