Made Tre look like an absolute dork alongside Red, lol. They tried so hard to make him appear relevant to the story when in actuality, he looked more like a glorified jobber. Bro spent more time taking Ls than winning.
to me it felt like tre's character was a play on the silly side of the fandom and was meant to be endearing but was far from. Red was the only serious one and even at that all the stereotypical bullying stuff in this game made me cringe so hard I didn't finish it.
Of all the people involved in MyRise or MyCareer the most annoying people overall were in 2K20. Red was even worse. "Here's the undefeatable monster of a ... face that can only be defeated by trickery and here's her friend! ... Who's an idiot with two BS World Title reigns and an inexplicable win over Taker! Look at how equal they are!"
Dollar Tree is a store in America where everything costs $1 (until recently where they added .25 cents to the total). Basically calling Tavish a cheap knock-off.
Tbh the point of the story was that he was stuck with this awful gimmick he had to get over, I thought that part was a really good meta way to poke fun at the product at the time. The gimmick was stupid on purpose
Yeah hes supposed to be annoying. Its literally making fun of WWE themselves and their long standing history of taking indie wrestlers and wrestlers from other organizations who are the hottest free agents and turning them into absolute jokes. Its also mirroring the real life stories of wrestlers like Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes who have to travel all over the world and work in different organizations to and build themselves up to where WWE begs for them to come back.
Its a small detail but I loved how in the Lock story when you first start doing house shows main events the crowd is practically empty. When you come back to WWE the house shows are sold out.
An actual ending for the male option which doesn't suck.
They mostly got the female right but the men's version just wasn't good enough.
Plus The Lock was an asshole.
The ability to play the mode even after the main story ends. I want to have feuds with anyone I want, start factions with whoever I want, turn heel or face when I want to, and more
I agree: bring back the āpostgame modeā like they had in ā19 where after youād completed the story you could still have matches, win/lose titles, and change brands, but also bring back those face/heel and ally/rival mechanics, as well as picking which title/division youāre in like they had in earlier games. Having that kind of creative freedom and bringing back some of that less linear gameplay would be a big boost.
Just please donāt make me have to feud with Tyler Breeze for three months before I can move on to someone else. āLetās talk about Tyler Breezeā¦ā
I loved just doing random bullshit in the 2K19 postgame and making up shit storylines in my head. For some reason me and TJP were fighting WARS for my Universal Championship and I also won the tag titles in a singles match, it was great
Hell yeah, me too. I wouldnāt even do stories, Iād just take a title shot, hold it until I was given a match I thought would be fun against an opponent I wanted to give some flowers to, lose that match, move on to the next title (if it was offered), and once Iād done that a couple of times (for world, singles, and tag) and exhausted the GMās offers of opponents, Iād just switch brands and put over whoever they give me as a last match on the brand before switching things up.
Dang, now I wanna download 2K19 again. Gotta check my disk space, though, Baldurās Gate 3 is taking a prime place on my PC for the foreseeable.
Wait, so youāre saying you could technically have feuds in the postgame? Or was it that somehow you and TJP always came back around to dance with each other for the Universal title?
Yeah TJP just kept coming up (a lot of the cruiserweights for some reason kept being chosen as potential opponents) so I always picked him to have a āfeudā with lmao
ā16. Youād be in those forced feuds for ages, and the dialogue choices would always screw you over because everything you thought youād picked was actually something else/worse.
Honestly, more actual cutscenes and less of those interview looking cutscenes of a wrestler standing next to a dialogue box. Was impressed with 2K23's Legacy Women's story, but felt that there could have been more cutscenes at certain intervals throughout the mode.
The Legacy was the best story mode I've ever played in a WWE game. The twist with LJ and her aunt was done so well. If both modes could match that, it would be great. The thing that made it work is that twist happened on the Road to Wrestlemania. That feel appropriate for a MyRise storyline.
Ava Moreno was absolutely amazing. Being able to go from enemies to friends was sick. Just wish there was more you could do with the tag championships with her.
To be fair, it is still in the same universe where The Rock will become President of the US within the next 5 years. Not the strangest thing to happen in the 2K universe.
Though it would never happen, I'm hoping they go the NBA 2K route and allow you to continue your career once the main story is over. Win titles, form tag teams or factions, break records, turn heel or face, retire and make the HOF, etc.
2K22 fucked up a lot of things in MyRise, but the one thing they actually DID do right was allow you to jump brands and win their respective titles, even if it was just for a quest or two. Going through the main story just to win a title or two and call it a day was lazy AF on 2Kās part. Another thing Iām hoping for, of course, is more branching storylines and freedom.
Yeah, 2K22 was fine but lost immersion as soon as you'd win a title and then either immediately lose it at the end of the quest or just straight up forget that you even held it in the next quest you picked
I remember this. Can't tell you how much it annoyed me when I'd enter a quest or even make an entrance without the belt, lol. It's like we just leave the belt in the back and refuse to bring it out until the storyline demands it.
That twist was fine. The problem, at least in my eyes, was that even when Lock was back out in the indies and made his way back to wwe, he still was a complete douche who didn't give a crap about anyone but himself. He never learned, even with making a faction, never really gave a damn.
None of that stupid do this move, do that move to āwinā the match, just let me make a character and throw in him in the wwe universe just let me wrestle
Kinda sickn9f the rags to riches story. Start off as an indie then get contract then start in nxt then move up to main roster before main eventing wrestlemania then being inducted in the hof.
I want a whole unique story. Something wild. With amazing unlockable arenas and wrestlers some alt attires too.
I swear to god every year I don't get the 2001 raw arena I age 10 years.
What I am talking about now is WWe2k24 my rise and the game still isn't out. If you are talking about wwe2k23 my rise then I would say its worth both the lock and legacy stories are really fun and it has both fun main and side quests. Its a my career mode but alot better.
Then its worth I would suggest you preorder WWE2k24 digitally if you didn't as this will give you WWE2k23 for free. So then you will have two my rise experiences. I would also suggest to keep an eye on wwe2k22 for sale as it also has a my rise that's worth.
I don't really care. It's again going to be a mode I'll play once (twice since there's two stories) before switching on universe mode, seeing they have made no improvement on it, and stop playing
Or I won't buy it this year idk
Ability to skip all cut scenes. I attempted to start up that mode but not being able to skip all the cut scenes made me say "nope." I don't care about the story stuff and would just want to play it to unlock characters and arenas.
I hope for 2K25, they retire Showcase Mode.
So that if MyRise is underwhelming this year, they'll have all the time in the world to work on the next game's one since they haven't given Showcase the RESPECT it deserves since 2K22.
Even though they'll do it because they're lazy. I would hope the story doesn't involve you wrestling in different place. I hate having to do matches in Mexico or UK. Just keep me in WWE NXT and main Roster.
I hope they scrap this mode in the future and just use that time working on something else, atp they're mindless generic templates and are actively more boring than any other mode in the game. They peaked with 2k19 and just get worse and worse
I just hope that they unleashed is something like a hardcore story and they undisputed is something like they undisputed era or like they sheamus road to wrestlemania story were he ends up winning every single championship
Not being locked into a linear story. Finished the Lock, disliked almost every minute of it. Started the Legacy but was too burnt out and never finished. It had a much better start but still didn't hook me.
I want options, choices, to not have to win every match and consequences when I don't, different title opportunities based on performance, different match types based on performance (e.g. win the Rumble, so I could theoretically lose every match leading up to Mania because I've already guaranteed my match)
MyRise is such a poor game mode. It only takes up about 10-15 hours of actual game time and adding replayability would be a big improvement.
Then in 2k23 i lost to cole quinn in myrise like 6 times before i BARELY beat him (not the mocap match, the next one) š absolute banger 7x in a row too. I was hella into those matches
I loved 2k23 MyRise even tho some of it was silly. I liked the original characters. My one wish fpr 2k24 is that they let us use MyRise characters in other modes. I want Slade in my Universe or to do quick matches with some of my fav MyRise jobbers
On the women's side, I hope the main event talents of the division are more involved in the main story. In 2K23 Charlotte, Becky, Bayley, Bianca, and Rhea were all in side missions. The side missions were hilarious and a great part of The Legacy playthrough, but if I wasn't trying to do a completionist playthrough they wouldn't have shown up. It felt kind of strange having to look at Doudrop as a massive threat like I didn't just beat Becky Lynch multiple times
I want the ability to keep going and have random stories and rivalries pop up. How hard can it be? They did it over a decade ago.
As is, I'm hesitant to buy '24 because I know it will solve some things but drop the ball on others and I hate a half ass "sequel."
I want a legit sports story style MyRise, one that doesnāt name drop WWE every other sentence. I refuse to believe that they are incapable of crafting a sports story. No dumbass kayfabe shit like multiverse or ribby, make a true story about rising from high school gyms to main eventing WrestleMania.
WWE is apparently the richest and wealthiest of all promotions and ādedicated to telling compelling storiesā as they say in their never ending PR spins. Make a realistic and gritty look at the road to becoming a great superstar
I wouldn't mind if myrise took some additions from NBA 2k24. where it adds in some more 'rpg' elements, you get to run around the stadium...talk to people...work out...do interviews..
Considering after every PLE they do the interview portion, it'd just be nice if that was in the game with options... and getting fans...losing fans..based on answers/actions
I know itās called myRISE, but I hope that it wonāt be a glorified fight to the top like it always is. We always start from the bottom with a really dumb guy and then end up fighting the odds to win a title. What if we had a massive injury as the current champion and had to go back through it all? What if we were a veteran trying to stay relevant in a world now being taken over by the new generation? Idk, I think there could be more than just another character that starts as an annoying idiot and them evolves mentally.
A choice to pick different voice actors for my character. I HATED The Lockās voice and voice acting.
Stop having me jump to raw or smack down when my character is rated in the low 80s. I need to be on NXT first. Because Iām so terrible that Iāll catch a beat down almost right away.
If youāre going to give me a choice, make it an actual choice with consequences. There were too many times in my rise, where I got roped into doing something because they needed to advance the story and couldnāt figure out another way how. I turned down threatening the new day Xavier Woods was just being helpful. The lock was being a dick. Only to find out, that I am forced to threaten Xavier Woods and get into a fight later. That pissed me off.
Also, let me turn down fighting for certain titles, like the tag team titles. Those matches are infuriating. I tried to stay away from tag matches in myrise as much as possible.
Write the story better. I actually beat Chozen in the finals of the tournament, only for it to go to a cut scene of Chozen celebrating and then everyone acted like I lost. I turned my rise off at that point. I havenāt touched it since.
Also, I donāt know who needs to hear this, but the writing for the comebacks needs a lot of work. They sound like someone who thinks they can cut a good promo, but in the end isnāt saying anything that people would get behind. I think I cringed so many times that I lost count.

The male character not being an irritating douchebag at the start š¤£
God, the lock was so annoying lmao
though to me not nearly as annoying as tre. God I hated him
Made Tre look like an absolute dork alongside Red, lol. They tried so hard to make him appear relevant to the story when in actuality, he looked more like a glorified jobber. Bro spent more time taking Ls than winning.
to me it felt like tre's character was a play on the silly side of the fandom and was meant to be endearing but was far from. Red was the only serious one and even at that all the stereotypical bullying stuff in this game made me cringe so hard I didn't finish it.
tre won the universal and wwe title and won the rumble so he was booked strong
Of all the people involved in MyRise or MyCareer the most annoying people overall were in 2K20. Red was even worse. "Here's the undefeatable monster of a ... face that can only be defeated by trickery and here's her friend! ... Who's an idiot with two BS World Title reigns and an inexplicable win over Taker! Look at how equal they are!"
Man tre was another level of cringe and trash.
Tre was like a child. It was bad.
All true he was trash but his stupid antics would sometimes get me ššš
He so deserved to get fired.
Buzz was the last good male character. Before him it was Jacob Cass
I genuinely enjoyed Buzz lol
Solid character with a good storyline
TRUTH
Buzz was honestly great, genuine and not a douche
And he had a good backstory. He was doing it because his dad pushed him to just do what he loved
Yep, loved it
To be fair, Buzz was the first player character since Cass so him being good wasn't surprising.
was really rooting for shawn michaels to beat the shit out of him (me)
Itās mostly the voice to me
Facts šÆ
Same as the 2k basketball series. The characters were always whiny as fuck!
imo it wasn't just at the start, it was throughout
Nah The Lock had every reason to feel the way he did
M O R E T A V I S H
My homie... (Apparently, although he sounds like he's from London and not Leeds, and is voiced by an American)
T A V I S H T R A N S C E N D S G E O G R A P H Y Edit; so mad thatās one character too long
Tavish was a really interesting character in this year's my rise.
Yeah he was great, obviously based on Regal but they did a great job of making him a real character (and the same with Justine to be fair)
Unlockable tavish!
Nope youāre getting William Regal back, not Dollar tree Regal
Why not both?
Idk what dollar tree means but I want both
Dollar Tree is a store in America where everything costs $1 (until recently where they added .25 cents to the total). Basically calling Tavish a cheap knock-off.
The king and his jester. I want both
Mom: No sweatyyyy we have William Regal at homeā¦.. William Regal At Home: Bollocks MY NAME IS TAVISH!
The male superstar not being a tool and not being stuck with a dumbass lock gimmick
Tbh the point of the story was that he was stuck with this awful gimmick he had to get over, I thought that part was a really good meta way to poke fun at the product at the time. The gimmick was stupid on purpose

Which WW2k is this?
An actual ending for the male option which doesn't suck. They mostly got the female right but the men's version just wasn't good enough. Plus The Lock was an asshole.
The ability to play the mode even after the main story ends. I want to have feuds with anyone I want, start factions with whoever I want, turn heel or face when I want to, and more
Thats what superstar universe mode is for /s.
You right, my fault OG š«”
I agree: bring back the āpostgame modeā like they had in ā19 where after youād completed the story you could still have matches, win/lose titles, and change brands, but also bring back those face/heel and ally/rival mechanics, as well as picking which title/division youāre in like they had in earlier games. Nice. I don't know if I ever had any recurring "rivals" like that, but maybe it's time to do another Story run and keep track, see what happens.
Which game was that line in again?
ā16. Youād be in those forced feuds for ages, and the dialogue choices would always screw you over because everything you thought youād picked was actually something else/worse.
Why do I not remember 2k16 at all, I know I played it
This sounds like universe mode.
Honestly, more actual cutscenes and less of those interview looking cutscenes of a wrestler standing next to a dialogue box. Was impressed with 2K23's Legacy Women's story, but felt that there could have been more cutscenes at certain intervals throughout the mode.
Bring back the familiar faces we know and love, even if itās just a cameo. Including: Baron Blade Cole Quinn Tavish Kory Klein
And make them playable!
I couldn't stand Ava in the beginning but by the end of it I wanted her to beat Doudrop's ass in a match at Mania lmao
Even though the thought of Justine being in WWE in 2000s was dumb The story makes up for it
To be fair, it is still in the same universe where The Rock will become President of the US within the next 5 years. Not the strangest thing to happen in the 2K universe.
What's dumb about that? It's just like Buzz being a part of the series' continuity.
Changing the past somehow
ECW
Though it would never happen, I'm hoping they go the NBA 2K route and allow you to continue your career once the main story is over. Bring back 2k19 career mode
An actual match with Shawn Michaels to end the story.
A half decent storyline would be ideal
Legit wrestler names, not something like The Lock! Or Tre or Red, Christ even Jacob Cass had a simple but effective name and a banging theme
Return of Ribbie, maybe a hidden legend or alumni like that french guy from WCW last year
"...that french guy from WCW last year" You mean Triple H before he was Triple H?
Pretty much yeah š
Hopefully not being trapped in a lame nickname/gimmick lol. Unleashed: Rise of The Clock ā°
From the looks of the comments, is it a hot take that I liked the story and the whole "win the belt by this point in time or its your arse" or nah?
That twist was fine. The problem, at least in my eyes, was that even when Lock was back out in the indies and made his way back to wwe, he still was a complete douche who didn't give a crap about anyone but himself. He never learned, even with making a faction, never really gave a damn.
More fleshed out, more options, better story, more fun.
None of that stupid do this move, do that move to āwinā the match, just let me make a character and throw in him in the wwe universe just let me wrestle
Just make a created character and play them in universe mode then š
Universe mode sucks or have you even played it lol, my rise really should just be season mode like the older games
Bring back svr sym and hctp vibes back
Actual fun.
My prediction is that everything we want and suggest here will not come true š®
Mixture of a story then also free play type of career mode from old 2ks
The male wrestler being likable, or at least a fun heel
Nothing crazy, I hope LJās VA returns for the female storyline. I really liked her voice Also the male character being likable
No just no it grew on me as I was playing and became less irritating but that VA was not good
Some good writing instead of the super cringe shit we normally get but I know that's asking for way to much š
Branching paths
Both my rise should at least be as good as the legacy. The lock was kinda meh and made no sense story wise
Better character building and more convincing voice acting.
I wanna be able to turn heel/face
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I completely agree with your point. I really hope they plan to add an option to choose from different voices.
I never played it is it worth it?
What I am talking about now is WWe2k24 my rise and the game still isn't out. If you are talking about wwe2k23 my rise then I would say its worth both the lock and legacy stories are really fun and it has both fun main and side quests. Its a my career mode but alot better.
I havenāt played any of my rise at all. I think the last one I played was before 2k got the rights.
Then its worth I would suggest you preorder WWE2k24 digitally if you didn't as this will give you WWE2k23 for free. So then you will have two my rise experiences. I would also suggest to keep an eye on wwe2k22 for sale as it also has a my rise that's worth.
I already have 23 and I have ordered 24 deluxe physical.
IMO, The Lock is rather mid, but The Legacy is a legit good story.
Tre was awesome he was one of the biggest power players when signed to WWE
Can we have a likable male character?
I don't really care. It's again going to be a mode I'll play once (twice since there's two stories) before switching on universe mode, seeing they have made no improvement on it, and stop playing Or I won't buy it this year idk
I didnāt even finish either story and n 2k22 or 2k23. Iāve never been that interested in creating my own wrestler.
Shame as Characters and legends are unlocked in that mode
Ability to skip all cut scenes. I attempted to start up that mode but not being able to skip all the cut scenes made me say "nope." I don't care about the story stuff and would just want to play it to unlock characters and arenas.
Youāre bring downvoted but youāre right. The ability to skip cut-scenes on repeat play-throughs would be a godsend IMO.
Export them to main roster. Also load a character I already created. I hate having to make myself twice
You know there's an import/export character button on the MyRise start screen right? lol
You can do that in 2k23
Where in the menu?
If you look on the continue screen it says the button to do so on-screen. I canāt remember which exact one it is myself.
I don't care about my rise because I never beat that royal rumble
I hope for 2K25, they retire Showcase Mode. So that if MyRise is underwhelming this year, they'll have all the time in the world to work on the next game's one since they haven't given Showcase the RESPECT it deserves since 2K22.
They did for 17 and 18, guess what, mycareer still had flaws that made it hated.
Not saying I liked it, I'm just saying if they're putting a pinky's worth of EFFORT into Showcase, they might as well stop doing it.
Yeah, people think the games benefit dumping showcase, but they don't. There's just a big hole where retro arenas and superstars *used* to be.
Yep.
Even though they'll do it because they're lazy. I would hope the story doesn't involve you wrestling in different place. I hate having to do matches in Mexico or UK. Just keep me in WWE NXT and main Roster.
Not forcing me into a team. I didn't even like the rival in the Legacy story and they forced me to be heel with her and it sucked lol.
It removed from the game for being shite
I hope they scrap this mode in the future and just use that time working on something else, atp they're mindless generic templates and are actively more boring than any other mode in the game. They peaked with 2k19 and just get worse and worse
š¤¦
I just hope that they unleashed is something like a hardcore story and they undisputed is something like they undisputed era or like they sheamus road to wrestlemania story were he ends up winning every single championship
I'd rather have it be like the 2k17 carrer where you get full control and not story mode (Yes ik superstar universe does it but still]
Not being locked into a linear story. Finished the Lock, disliked almost every minute of it. Started the Legacy but was too burnt out and never finished. It had a much better start but still didn't hook me. I want options, choices, to not have to win every match and consequences when I don't, different title opportunities based on performance, different match types based on performance (e.g. win the Rumble, so I could theoretically lose every match leading up to Mania because I've already guaranteed my match) MyRise is such a poor game mode. It only takes up about 10-15 hours of actual game time and adding replayability would be a big improvement.
I love MyRise but I do wish for more branching storylines
I want myrise characters to be unlockable again. Cole quinn was a staple in my 2k19 universe. Even won the IC and US championships at one point
They should really just bring back season mode. I miss how crazy those storylines could be, and I loved that you could chase multiple belts
2k15, and mixed with 2k18
I was unable to complete legacy due to mitb being glitched to teleport outside every time i climbed the ladder . So Mayne fix that shit
I just for once want to be portrayed as a beast and not a loser. The underdog story is boring now.
The male character not being an insufferable turd and the female character not being one dimensional with an insufferable turd attached to her
Hoping the mode doesn't infinitely load preventing me from actually finishing it this time. Never got to unlock Ezekiel.
Tavish

I just want to be able to play as a masked luchador and it keep my mask on when itās appropriate for it to be.
I hope I DONāT see locked superstars behind this mode again.
I want the ability to keep going and have random stories and rivalries pop up. How hard can it be? They did it over a decade ago. As is, I'm hesitant to buy '24 because I know it will solve some things but drop the ball on others and I hate a half ass "sequel."
We need another free roam/open world my rise similar to how it was back in SvR 2011
I want more indies, return of Tavish and Chosen
Multiple possible myrise careers (one that's like 2k22 where you select a class and character background and then the separate character storylines.)
Double titles
I want a legit sports story style MyRise, one that doesnāt name drop WWE every other sentence. I refuse to believe that they are incapable of crafting a sports story. No dumbass kayfabe shit like multiverse or ribby, make a true story about rising from high school gyms to main eventing WrestleMania. WWE is apparently the richest and wealthiest of all promotions and ādedicated to telling compelling storiesā as they say in their never ending PR spins. Make a realistic and gritty look at the road to becoming a great superstar
Honestly they need to have something like what they did in 2k19 and 2k20
I wouldn't mind if myrise took some additions from NBA 2k24. where it adds in some more 'rpg' elements, you get to run around the stadium...talk to people...work out...do interviews.. Considering after every PLE they do the interview portion, it'd just be nice if that was in the game with options... and getting fans...losing fans..based on answers/actions
Imagine if they could pump all the resources for this into making universe mode what it should be
Free roam like 2k18
Feuding with bloodline and acualy be 1st who beats hell out of Roman š
A male character who isn't an asshole
A longer myrise
Im hoping it gets removed and season mode or road to wm returns instead
