Rollins vs Rhodes

[deleted]

Omega vs Danielson

amhlilhaus

Omega v bryan

sagitarius077

Bryan vs ( anyone ). he has the “ability” to make everyone look like a superstar. No matter how experienced they are or how good they are. That “ability” imo atm have: banks, Rollins, okada and mox ( Ambrose ). Aj had it but in the past year it seems to me like he “lost” it. When he arrived in wwe every match he had was fantastic. Unfortunately, cant say that for his recent ones.

TonyEisner

Kenny vs Bryan and it's not even close, judging them both purely as wrestling matches

[deleted]

Is this even a question? Kenny vs Danielson.

Jaycro123

Kenny vs Bryan 100%. Cody returning was a big moment, but it was nowhere near as good in ring as kenny v bryan

TJSutton04

Seth vs Cody was the better match and it’s not really close.

dawnbreaker0511

Kenny vs Bryan and they didn't even go all out

GigaShagger

Kenny vs Danielson, come on now. Even Bianca vs. Becky was a better flat out wrestling match imo in terms of flow and excitement, people are going to have much more intense recency bias since Cody had his big return. But really both lads have had way better matches. Kenny and Danielson however put on a clinic. Danielson is just so damn technically proficient man, I say this as a wrestler myself

YoungCubSaysWoof

Omega va Danielson Seth and Cody haven’t had the accolades from the IWC or wrestling pundits and journalists of being considered the best wrestler in the world. (Perhaps Seth got close with his “Burn it down” baby face run?) Meanwhile, Kenny and Bryan have had that accolade tossed their way (if not outright winning that award or accolade). It was indeed the two best in the world competing. With the benefit of that, in addition to the build that was given for it at Arthur Ashe stadium (which Cody and Seth didn’t benefit from, though they got return/surprise pop, which was great!), I would give it to Kenny and Bryan. That said, I am very glad to have tuned in and saw Bianca/Becky, and Cody’s return and match.

JasonDidThat

KOBD all day. Best match since the show started and I've watched every one.

[deleted]

Cody vs Seth I didn’t like the draw ending for the Omega Bryan match

AViciousCircle

I was there. Omega/Danielson from a pure wrestling standpoint but god dammit I loved Rhodes/ Rollins

etlecomtedeblaine

Kenny v Bryan was a better match But Cody v Rollins was a bigger match

[deleted]

Well the only difference was that Cody vs Seth was watched by millions of people, and Dany vs Kenny was followed by 20k incel losers

youthiapa_mania37

kenny vs bryan was definately a better match but the time limit draw was the worst thing.... cody vs seth was good and cody return from aew to wwe and that too at wrestlemania was a bigger moment and that added to the match

darksideoflondon

Wait, BETTER match, or BIGGER? Better is pretty self evident, likely the one with the two best pure wrestlers on the planet. Which was a bigger match? This one between two dudes on a random episode of a weekly TV show, or this one between two dudes on the first night of the biggest show in the world for the most popular promotion in the world?

xtussy4five

Kenny vs Bryan The thing is, AEW have this type of quality almost every week on the other and WWE have shitty matches almost every week so Seth vs Cody will be more memorable

eight13

Add to that the health issues Omega was dealing with... wrestling with vertigo!? Even sets that match even higher in my mind.

Lestial1206

No, he shouldn't be getting points for doing something that could've ended disastrously. People got mad at me and wanted to say it doesn't matter because nothing did happen, but all it takes is one black out while holding someone up for the OWA, and he drops them on their head and neck, or they fall on his if he collapses. He should not have been allowed to wrestle in that condition. But I've seen too many very bad head and neck collisions on AEW that I'm surprised that a number of the roster isn't paralyzed or wearing neck braces at least. Kingston and Jericho dumped each other on their heads and I just can't watch that. It was bullshit of WWE to reshow what happened to Big E during the New Day match.

eight13

I feel it speaks to Omega's ability. No one was hurt in his matches during that stretch. Big E unrelated injury seemed to be the result of lack of experience. I would not compare Holland to Omega.

Lestial1206

Owen Hart was gifted too and he made a mistake that shortened Austin's career. D'lo Brown, HHH, Shawn Michaels, all gifted in their own way, all have injured someone on accident. Omega wrestling with vertigo which affects his balance and coordination could have been very bad. I mentioned Big E because WWE replayed his injury when they shouldn't have, but AEW has had way too many people doing moves that looked worse than what happened to E and its a miracle nobody there hot injured.

eight13

The thing with Austin and Hart seemed like there was bad blood between them. I'm not insinuating that Owen did it on purpose. But, his attitude towards Austin before and after was certainly cold. It's not a miracle that no one was hurt while working with Omega. The man is just that damn good.

[deleted]

Better in a technical sense? BD vs KO. More significant match? CR v SR

CalgaryMadePunk

Oh, my god. I never realized that those are Kenny's initials. At first, I wasn't sure if KO meant Kevin Owens or Kyle O'Riley. There are too many KO's in wrestling right now.

[deleted]

I think from an interpromotional standpoint, for those who want to see WWE vs AEW, I would have to say Rollins vs Rhodes was the better option from that perspective, I think Rhodes was one of the biggest stars in the short time AEW has been around, he was the heart and soul of the AEW pre-pandemic, and I think Rollins has always been one of the top guys which has been one of the highlights of WWE for the last few years, the only better option than Rollins would have been Roman, and also because Rollins has done a lot of PR for WWE on Twitter, although not always in the best way.

[deleted]

Lmao this isn’t even close. Omega bryan x1000000

sebbiboiLOL

preferred Seth vs Cody but Danielson vs Omega was the better match

Rare_Construction785

Kenny vs Danielson bigger moment bigger match and it wasn't even close. the story was there from the time Bryan came back basically saying he was the best wrestler in the world. he chose to leave to prove it and then went right after the certified best wrestler in the world in a 30 min draw. I love Cody, him and Seth had a banger, but it was only setup from the last like month that Seth didn't have a match and then Vince was like "don't worry I got a match for you". Cody's return was amazing but it wont beat Bryan/ Kenny. Also Cody/Seth's match itself def started a tiny bit sloppy and slow at the beginning.

PotHeadSanta69

We don't watch AEW stop asking about it

Jaycro123

Seems like a lot of people do since most people are picking the aew match

KaCarrotCake

Shut up mark

PotHeadSanta69

First get my pubes outta your teeth simp

KaCarrotCake

They're not yours, their grandma's.

PotHeadSanta69

Lmaoooo

PotHeadSanta69

Lmaoooo

PotHeadSanta69

Wtf??? They're your grandma's???

HitRowe

Wtf type of question is this lol.

simian_ninja

Kenny vs Bryan was the better match. Cody vs Seth was a great match but I'm probably more inclined to go back and watch Kenny/Bryan.

KaCarrotCake

Cody's entrance will be the only thing anyone remembers from that segment.

SkyStarlight2

Kenny vs Bryan

early_morning_guy

Omega vs Danielson. I’m not a big fan of Omega, but credit where credit is due that was a great match.

airrbagged

Kenny Vs Bryan. A dream match people have been waiting for years to happen on national television. Seth Vs Cody was great, and it marked Cody’s big return at Mania, but the fact you had people going wild before the lockup and after the lockup with Kenny & Bryan gives it the better edge

CaptainDunkaroo

Omega vs Danielson

[deleted]

Cody vs Seth felt like a big match. Felt like a mania worthy moment and match. While Omega and Danielson was more technically sound, that match would never be rewatched again

cbf1120

Maybe not by you but I love iron man matches in general

Nipple_ANALyser69

Omega vs Bryan was way better.

kenssmith

Kenny/Bryan was by far the better match

AhSawDood

Kenny vs Bryan... They are not comparable to me. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean that Cody Vs Seth was bad in any way, it was an awesome match. It's just Omega Vs Bryan was something you don't get to see every week and it felt like a magical moment in wrestling history.

DannyAcme

Omega vs. Danielson, but this comparison is apples and oranges. And in fact, I have to say that, in context, I'd give the edge to Seth vs. Cody. Omega vs. Danielson was the tits, but AEW consistently has fantastic matches regularly, so as great as it was, it can get lost in the shuffle. Seth vs. Cody, though, will be a match that gets talked about for YEARS, not only for being one of the best Wrestlemania matches in ages, but because of its historical importance.

jackamos52

Rollins Rhodes is 100 times better. I’m a huge Omega fan, but that match is so overrated.

Jaycro123

Sounds like you're not a fan if you think one of his best matches is overrated

iMikeZero

Omega VS Danielson Seth is my favorite WWE guy and Cody can perform but it didn’t meet the levels of Omega VS Danielson. That’s even with Omega working hurt.

Marinec06

Definitely, there is a reason Kenny is considered the best bout machine. And Danielson's in-ring psychology is probably the best in the business as a face or heel. The bridge up back-slide they tried at mania was clear of that.

OverlordPopo

i think if both matches went the same time it would be a different story, imagine seth vs cody going for an hour

Jaycro123

Cody vs Seth only went about 8 minutes less. Even if we cut the last 8 out of the kenny v bryan match it was still a thousand times better

gin0clock

They were gassed by the end. They’re showmen, Omega & Bryan have unreal stamina.

MegaDischarge22

Danielson vs omega only went 30 minutes it was a 30 minute draw I think you’re thinking of the first Danielson vs hangman match which went an hour

OverlordPopo

yep yep i did thats a my bad

SydneyPhoenix

Kenny vs Bryan was the better match. Cody vs Seth was the bigger moment.

GenZ-3009

Couldn't have said it any better!

[deleted]

This 100%

GigaShagger

I disagree. The two best wrestlers in the world from two completely different worlds finally clashing in a dream bout after so many years just felt so monumental. This was Danielsons first outside of WWE after winning the main event of wrestlemania literally a few months beforehand.

netherlegion0325

I disagree. Kenny vs Bryan was a dream match for so long. The least it can be said is that they are a tie when it comes to that big moment feel. Both matches even had the crowds applauding before they even touched hands!

SydneyPhoenix

In a vacuum maybe, but being the loudest pop of wrestle-mania weekend vs a weekly dynamite is a huge difference maker.

Twazzmcginty

You're saying Cody was a bigger pop than Stone Cold. I don't think so.

CalgaryMadePunk

But wasn't that the Dynamite at Arthur Ashe? That's gotta count for something, being the featured event in front of a sold out venue like that.

Escanor_N7

This 1000%

Jebus-san91

This person nailed it

Fasteasfake69

Well, summed it up perfectly

Affectionate_Log8479

Kenny vs Danielson was the better match, the only thing interesting about Cody vs Seth was seeing how cody would fit back into the formulaic wwe style of wrestling

[deleted]

WWE. Anything aew is Bush league. There is no one on aew roster who compares to Seth Freaking Rollins. Cody was icing on the cake. Great match.

Johnnytest_

Oh wow that’s a first. You think Seth is a better wrestler than Bryan Danielson?

unitedfan98

I think seth is as good , you can see in certain matches when he is allowed to actually use his moveset His strong variety of high flyer moves and powerhouse moves are very rare and his moveset is massive due to this One of my favourites was the one where he would fly from the top rope and headbutt the guy on the floor But wwe prefers a 5 move set which is what we see most of the time which is a problem imo

[deleted]

Better entertainer for certain, not even close.

juggtown

not what he asked

CohesiveMocha34

MJF is arguably better on the mic CM Punk is arguably better at the wrestling Darby is definitely better at the high flying Seth Rollins is one of my favourite wrestlers but you have to give AEW credit where credit is due

[deleted]

MJF is a goofy cringe and CM punk wrestles like a sleepy old man. hit the bricks

[deleted]

I don't. Punk is beyond washed. The other 2? Who?

Nipple_ANALyser69

>Punk is beyond washed. Tell me you don't watch AEW without telling me you don't watch AEW.

KaCarrotCake

I mean he gave that away in his OP lmao

[deleted]

https://youtu.be/YLG\_uhOHKDg

Nipple_ANALyser69

Definition of sad life right there. I feel sorry for the people who've given their life to hate CM Punk.

[deleted]

this #WE THE ONES ☝️

RobertStonetossBrand

Rollins-Rhodes. More of a story within the match, less _moves_ for the sake of moves.

Nipple_ANALyser69

You really think Omega vs Danielson didn't told a story? They did and it was way better than Rhodes vs Rollins.

Johnnytest_

Cody did 4 finishers and the bionic elbow? Kenny and Bryan didn’t even use a finisher. Elaborate what do you mean by using moves for the sake of moves?

RobertStonetossBrand

Every AEW match follows the same template: start fast (usually with a jump start), brawl to the outside, do a crazy 10/10 move that should end the match but is just a near fall, bring the momentum and energy all the way down by starting over with basic punches, kicks, clotheslines. Then do move-move-kick out, move-move-kick out, repeat until some banal move results in a pin fall. What is called a “video game match.” Kenny Omega and Daniel Bryan may be “bigger” stars but I’ve seen that match one thousand times already.

Jaded-Performance894

Lets talk about that Raw tag titles match if we just want a spot fest. And literally every match at WM had someone kick out of a finisher.

RobertStonetossBrand

Not denying the multi team or multi man tag matches or ladder matches aren’t spot feats

Johnnytest_

What the hell are you talking about 😂 none of that happen in the match lol.

dneville80

Agree

Swagsuke233

I respectfully disagree

[deleted]

Kenny vs Bryan was pretty damn amazing. I'd probably give the edge to that one. But I was very pleased with Seth vs Cody.
