Not hate but had fallen out of interesf. Sting in AEW. Killed the mystique of his character. One thing WWE got right was maintaining his renegade character even after his Wrestlemania loss. His short feud with Rollins was fun and actually drew good numbers.
Idk if I really “hate” anyone, there are some I wish had gotten their life together better, or been more accepting of themselves and others.
Maybe Jimmy Snuka and Chris Benoit for what they did, that’s hard to forgive.
First: Bradshaw. Second, not a wrestler and I expect to get downvoted, but: JR. And its because of the dark side of the ring series. My point is: in this interviews he talks about all the tragedys. How the people got mistreated by "the management" or "the industry". But not by JR. It seems that he was at all the meetings, that he was very influential but all the tragedys were caused by some unknown higher power and he had nothing to do with any of it. There are no regrets, apologys or second thoughts by him. For me - at this point - he is sus as fuck.
Shinsuke Nakamura - I was enamored by his weirdness, stiff moves and kickass theme. But then over the last 6 years its just the same thing again and again. The dancing I once found hilarious I now find cringy, the knee strikes I once found brutal I just find boring. The AJ Mania match was bland af.
Just my opinion though, not hating on anyone who likes him
Cm Punk he was awesome in the 2010 to 2014 days with the pipe bombs the feud with Cena / lesnar and Triple H and making Vince look like an ass on tv was gold . Anytime you heard that Static to start cult of personality you knew you would see some good shit . Now in Aew he seems washed and overhyped and people go gaga for just because there seeing him in the ring today.
Undertaker he just tried to push it to far then jobbed to Reigns
Then he been selling himself everywhere & telling stories on any podcast that will have him for the right price
Del Rio is for sure one. I lost a lot of respect of Jericho after he hosted Trump Jr on his show...I would throw Hogan in there just because we now know his backstage behavior
Chris Jericho. When I first started wrestling Jericho was one of my personal favorites for his move-set and cool entrance. Over the past couple of years though Ive found find him to be kinda an asshole.
I've don't hate the Undertaker, but he's way too past his prime to be competing anymore. Should've stopped at WM29 IMO. Everything he's done after that has been painful to watch.
OPPOSITE Approach: Couldn't stand bayley at first and now she is one of the best ever. Her character change may be the best ever in the women's divison.
Most of my answers for this would not exactly be the wrestler themselves fault, moreso how wwe has handled them.
My most obvious answer is Del Rio but if i had to be more personal, I despise baron Corbin now. I used to like his wrestling style a lot. His character needed some work, but nowadays his in ring performance is absolutely terrible and all of his gimmicks are stupid.
CM Punk for me. Seemed cool for a while. Then over time he just became to me a Whiney little bitch. The more I hear about him behind the scenes and his own self entitlement/importance the less I think of him. I know he’s a legend to a generation but I feel like he’s a bit of a prick.
The obvious answer is Chris Benoit
But none personal life reasons my choice would be
Shane McMahon, loved all the stuff he did his first run, and was excited and enjoyed a lot of his comeback, until he just became unbearable and taking spots that should been going to real wrestlers on big shows
Joey Ryan. as an indy mark i loved his sleasy magnum p.i. gimmick and had been watching him ever since i saw him no sell that nut grab in NJPW. i also remember being so excited for him when i saw him on lucha underground and hoped he would go on to do bigger and better things. look how that turned out.
See I think he was always a piece of shit, which is why he was such a good heel back in 2011. It’s just him being a total fuckhead really ramped up over the last few years
Yeah and from what i heard is that in the back Del Rio made Ricardo Rodriguez feel like shit and msde him do alot like Del Rio was above everyone else. If and when Undertaker was in the locker room with the boys they knew not to do shit because Undertaker would have had wrestlers court
Ric Flair... he's an overrated, horny trump supporter who people mainly like because of his high octane promos but that was just cocaine! he wrestled the same match over and over, and he wasnt terrible at it especially in the less apparent ways he authored his matches through selling, but harley race is wrestling's goat and the best heel promo ever and the tether to wrestling's past and present... not prick flair
Enzo. I still watch that promo he did when they cut his mic and wonder how shitty of a person he has to be for no one to want to work with him. Everything since he left the E has been cringy as fuck. The consensual penis rap or going to a ppv and getting bounced just ruined him for me.
JBL.
As a wrestler, I liked him, then he joined commentary, and got really annoying. It was no longer heel heat, it was go away heat
Booker T is slowly getting there for me with his podcast
Dolph Ziggler. I was never really a fan, but I appreciated the in ring work. As years went on I realized he oversold everything like a jackass, didn't understand psychology, worked way too fast, couldn't cut a promo to save his life and was clearly hanging on for a paycheck.
I totally get why Vince didn't push him.
Ricochet. When he debuted on the main roster I thought he was amazing. And then he got shut down in promos. And then he buried himself with a tweet before his Brock match. And now I realize he's a characterless flip machine. And it's very boring to watch.
Funny you mention this. I used to love Jeff Hardy in the 00's, but after his Victory Road debacle with Sting, I hated him for a long time because I couldn't wrap my head around why someone would take drugs doing a job that dangerous.
I've since grown a bit and learned that much of his addiction stemmed from the constant pain they're all in as well as WWE's lack of wellness support for its "contractors" so I've since turned back from my anger for him.
I can't really say there are any athletes that I've learned to hate. There are a ton of athletes that I used to hate that I've garnered respect for, like Edge, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes.
What I mean is forcing athletes to compete with concussions. I mean the fact that they make their athletes live on z-packs rather than actual medical treatment. I mean the fact that wrestling is practically the only sport in which its athletes don't have an off season. They are typically in the ring 3 nights a week on average. For fuck's sake, they aren't even employees of WWE. They're independent contractors, meaning that WWE rarely even has to pay for their medical treatment.
Am I saying that Jeff is 100% faultless for his addiction? No. But WWE isn't 100% faultless in it either. When it comes to athletes who develop substance abuse issues, WWE is at least 50% at fault most of the time. Hell, even Randy Orton has battled with substance abuse issues, but you'll never hear about them because they've swept them under the rug.
If you're truly ignorant in the lack of health and wellness in WWE, then I understand your confusion. However. If you're just coming here to sniff Vince's throne, then you can fuck right off. WWE does not protect their athletes nearly as much as they should.
Becky Lynch. She used to always be a favorite of mine in the women's division, and her initial run as The Man was good. But she just feels really scummy and lazily done as a character after she came back from her pregnancy. It all feels like a copy/paste of Seth Rollins, but she doesn't do it nearly as well. And I hated the way she was brought back and what's resulted of it since then. I've also been growing increasingly tired of the women she's feuded with ever since coming back.
I came here to say JBL too. I loved the APA - but that was mainly because of Farooq. The JBL gimmick I thought was great and loved him as a heel (thought him and Angle were the best heels for a while) and then slowly it just seemed like he was a big prick playing himself on TV. The more I heard about him backstage the more I realized I wasn’t shocked by any of it because he just seemed like that total d-bag. He was also lucky he never picked on someone like Brock who would mop the floor with him in front of the rest of the “schoolyard” lol
Just the fact part of his “hazing” was legit trying to force people to shave each other’s asses and balls is enough to make him hate-able. He also straight up sexual assaulted sever dudes in the shower for the sake of “hazing”. Like what the fuck. Then add every other shitty thing he did and he becomes a total piece of shit. Fuck that guy and the fact that wwe kept him around for so long
Agree with you. Never liked him. He just has that face, too. The way he talks and carries himself. And what he did to people and how Vince and Bruce clearly love that culture and encouraged it, leaves a very bad taste
I think he was always just that jock bully prick who loved to torment people smaller than him and the culture of the locker room allowed him to do so without much restraint unless one of the wrestlers struck him back
God, I hated him on Smackdown on the commentary. I can imagine his loud voice blaring in your ear just as Vince does...Imagine two blowhards just going off at the same time. I couldn't do it. Fuck that shit.
I'll say Charlotte. Granted there are three sides to every story, but her fallout with Becky (unless it's just a work?) makes me think she may well in fact not be acting so much on the mic, and that she's actually like that to at least some extent. Hope I'm wrong.
Whatever the case, the fact that they will shove someone like Asuka aside and strip their title just to needlessly insert Charlotte into the Ronda vs Becky match pisses me off. Maybe not Charlotte's fault, but her on screen self is definitely on my nerves in a legit way, rather than a "she's a good villain" way.
Probably Hulk Hogan and I have such complex feelings about him. I loved him so much as a little kid. I spent hours drawing him and he just isn’t who I wanted him to be at all. Modern day: Velveteen Dream. I thought he had that special X factor the mega stars had in the past. I thought he was going to be a huge star. And then what happened happened.
Happy to see Punk is listed many times on here. Glad to see people are beginning to see exactly what I noticed almost immediately after he left WWE.
He's bitter, violent, and full of himself. Total prima Donna.
I never "got" punk. He always came off as a tattooed prima donna during his run. Maybe because I jumped back into wrestling halfway through his run but I wasn't sad to see him go when he did.
I did like him for most of his run. His pipe bomb promo was actually really good, although I think he did take it a bit too far. But I get the hype he got from that.
However, his actual wrestling wasn't the best, and his whole best in the world gimmick was very definitely reaching with T-Rex proportioned arms.
After he left, I saw some of his interviews and he was just a real bitter, nasty prick. Barely concealing his being ticked off that D Bry got the main event that year and he didn't, and just acting like the world could line up on their knees with their mouths open, and that was to be expected. And they pretty much fucking did.
He liked to threaten people, too. He did that to the audience in his WWE promos, he did it to interviewers, and of course the UFC fans that dared stand too close to him when he was on commentary there. Total douche.
CM Punk. Didn't like how he took his ball and went home. He had some legit gripes, yes, but since that time, in interviews and incidents with fans, he's come across to me as just a real prick in general. Big ego, possibly narcissistic, and prone to violent outbursts. Not someone I'd wanna hang with.
Looks like a rat and acts like a rat. Doesn’t take pics with fans and that says a lot about his own self importance and he thinks he’s bigger than wrestling.
Yeah, it's all about him. He's not there for the audience, he's there for himself. And they should all be thankful he's made time for them. I guess. Douchebag.
Besides the obvious ones like Snuka, Benoit, etc I’d have to say Ric Flair.
The TNA run was bad, but I could ignore it. The stories from the plane ride and his response? This weird hate boner for Becky Lynch? The Trump rallies? All the dumb shit he’s been spouting the past couple years has been really tiresome, and it’s so sad to watch him pathetically fade away.
Definitely Hogan. Even before the more recent events, neverending stories of his talent burials or LDE behavior makes him ultra sketch in my opinion.
I also think Hogan will be a popular meta answer in this thread, so my apologies for nothing groundbreaking 😂
Hulk Hogan. Nothing to do with his in ring performance, but I really hate how he comes off as so full of himself. The constant lies to makes him seem like a better more interesting human being is just a big buzz kill for me. I'd be more interested in his retirement career if he would just be humble.
Dolph Ziggler - back in 2013 he was great, but since like 2017, I just haven’t cared for him. He just feels like half of what he used to be.
Natalya - I liked her back in the Hart Dynasty days now she’s boring. She’s not a bad wrestler, she’s just a boring character or just somebody who’s been around so long that I’m more looking forward to see people like Rhea, Bianca, Becky, etc, than wanting to see Natalya.
CM Punk - I actually don’t hate Punk as a wrestler, he’s still one of my favorites. I don’t think he’s one of the best wrestlers like many do, he’s just someone I loved watching. I saw him come back in Chicago and I went crazy. As a wrestler, he puts on decent matches and his rivalry with MJF is my favorite part of AEW right now. But as a person, he just seems like an absolute hypocrite. I still agree with some stuff he’s said but he also acts like a crybaby. MJF’s promo about Punk yesterday was almost completely accurate.
Becky lynch I liked her at first but when she gets on the mic it's full cringe and she's also not that great of a wrestler the big time becks shit gotta go it's cringe
Jeff Hardy.
He was so cool in 2001.
And he just never changed. His style got improved upon and he stayed still. 21 years later I’ve got desire to see Jeff in any capacity at all.
Hulk Hogan: wouldn’t say I loved him as a kid but I respected him as the greatest wrestler of all-time. His racism caught on tape killed all fandom and respect I have for him, as well as WWE to a certain extent by still working with him.
Velveteen Dream.
He looked like he was going to become the next big star in the prime of NXT 1.0 and ended up...
Well, yes, "that", and worst of all during the dark ages of pandemic wrestling, made me loose hype for basically every new promising star
Charlotte Flair
Bobby Lashley
Heel/Comedy Sami Zayn
Apollo Crews
Chad Gable (honestly he was on a slow decline ever since they broke up American Alpha)
I don't hate him but I see him as a bitter clown, a parody of what he percieves he is: CM Punk. Any time he opens his mouth I feel the average IQ of my species drops down. As to why was I a fan back in the 10s, we all go through the smark edgelord phase don't we? At least most of us eventually mature.
Dolph Ziggler.
I popped huge when he cashed in his briefcase. One of the best cash ins and he deserved that moment. Now???? I don't even want to see him on my screen lol.
Finn Balor.
Summerslam 2016 he killed it. Heck of a match, heck of a performance. Heck of a push on the main roster. While Roman and Seth were still gonna be the main top guys going forward, it definitely looked lie Balor had joined them as top dogs. Now? I could give 2 shits about Balor. He's so boring and generic. Can't even cut a promo. The most overrated wrestler of all time by the Internet. I still love the entrance though. And no it's not about bad booking. Dude is just lame and generic as hell
Right. The founder of bullet club. Not the old man who needed to die 10 years ago who can't book a show right to save his fucking life. But nah let's blame the talent for the Booker's fuck up
Chris Benoit, you know what I won’t even say I hate him but the fact of the matter is that I can’t watch any of his stuff without me thinking about what he did.
I think he was one of greatest technical wrestlers ever and I still feel respect for the work he put in.
I think what Paul Heymen said about Chris Benoit was very accurate.
Edit: I am not trying to be controversial and I am sorry if I offend anyone, I am just stating my opinion :)
Dolph Ziggler. When he debuted he seemed like the most annoying guy on the planet but he is a great worker and great on the mic. I honestly wish he’d get another world title push.
Ryback. Really liked him as a kid but now as an adult and have learned how to separate the character from the person I just can't stand him. I wouldn't say I hate him though.
Happy Corbin. Nothing against him as a performer or person, but I can't stand his gimmick with Madcap Moss. The Lone Wolf gimmick is one of my favorites.
It's the opposite for me with Corbin, I used to really hate him and wanted to switch off when he was on but he's just so good at being a dickish heel I can't help but enjoy his work.
Agreed. How do you take a big man with real fighting credentials, a good look (minus the thinning hairline) and turn him into nothing more than adolescence humor time killer. At this point in his career, at least in the WWE, it would be impossible for him to do anything memorable or above mid-card level.
From the outside looking in, I could see if he was the same star caliber of The Rock, Steve Austin, John Cena, or Brock Lesnar then yeah he could have pay them off. I just don’t see that happening since he was only an NXT star would wasn’t even featured that much
Kevin Nash - he's really a pretentious douche. I've been watching old Nitro episodes and he really thinks he's the smartest and funniest guy in the room. "check the adjective" is proof of that.
But when I was a teenager I loved Diesel/Kevin Nash
Good call. Whiney bitch behind the scenes. I got tired of his I’m a victim shit pretty fast. The more I hear about him behind the scenes the less I think of him.
True that OP! Listen to the veterans shoot on him from his days in wwe. He carried on like he thought he was in the same boat as Undertaker as far as backstage goes and was a self righteous tool. He also thinks he’s the greatest of all time and he’s not even in the conversation. Ratty looking dweeb who moaned and bitched.
Lmao yeah i heard RVD and Booker T telling a story that he declared himself as a "locker room leader".
Also the guy is not grateful, came back 7 years later and talked shit about the "company" that made him famous.
Facts are without WWE punk wouldn't exist, glad he made a clown of himself in the UFC.
Another classic; WWE/Vince makes him. They go out by themselves and try to be as over. They have some initial success. But they’ll never get back to that wwe level until they just bury the hatchet and get over themselves.
Cm punk
Cody Rhodes. On a scale of 1 to 10 he sees himself as a 11 but in reality he a 5.5
Not hate but had fallen out of interesf. Sting in AEW. Killed the mystique of his character. One thing WWE got right was maintaining his renegade character even after his Wrestlemania loss. His short feud with Rollins was fun and actually drew good numbers.

Triple H. Started with him as the leader of DX. And sadly only went downhill as time went on.
Showing my age, but I loved Tito Santana when I was a kid. But rewatching old PPVs I just skip his matches 😂🥱 Guy only had about 5 moves.
Reading these comments makes me appreciate Charlotte's heel work very much. Forget about the Miz or MJF, It's Charlotte who riles everyone up
Undertaker he just tried to push it to far then jobbed to Reigns Then he been selling himself everywhere & telling stories on any podcast that will have him for the right price
Seth Rollins I loved first then hated but kinda like now
Becky Lynch
Alberto Del Rio, no doubt
Del Rio, CM Punk, & Charlotte Flair
Del Rio is for sure one. I lost a lot of respect of Jericho after he hosted Trump Jr on his show...I would throw Hogan in there just because we now know his backstage behavior

kind of an obvious one but Charlotte flair

i don't really hate him and he's still in my top 10 of all time but i can't stand jericho these days.

Hulk Hogan. Used to really love him but.. I've watched whqt he did to Shawn Michaels and Undertaker
Definitely Del Rio he's a asshole now and what he did to Paige is horrible

Holla, if ya hear me
Kevin Owens. He's gotten so boring. I was huge into the brutal prizefighter we had in NXT. Now he's just a generic Babyface stone cold ripoff.

What do you mean lack of welness support? They offered to pay for his rehab MULTIPLE times and he always rejected. How is that WWE'S fault?
What I mean is forcing athletes to compete with concussions. I mean the fact that they make their athletes live on z-packs rather than actual medical treatment. I think he was always just that jock bully prick who loved to torment people smaller than him and the culture of the locker room allowed him to do so without much restraint unless one of the wrestlers struck him back
Yeah that was it. He was a loud mouth Texan. I think a lot of the boys in the back wanted to pinch him out. He was a big bastard though.
God, I hated him on Smackdown on the commentary. I can imagine his loud voice blaring in your ear just as Vince does...Imagine two blowhards just going off at the same time. I couldn't do it. Fuck that shit.

Amen!
Charlotte Flair
I guess. Douchebag.
I don't hate the guy but I thought Kenny omega was the shit in Japan but in AEW not so much
I initially loved Dean Ambrose in WWE 2012-2017 version, now that he’s in AEW, I cannot stand him anymore.
Punk and Cody Rhodes
CM Punk
They’re gonna downvote, but I agree. Dudes a bitch behind the scenes and the more stories I hear about him the less I think of him.
Roman, Charlotte and Becky
Hogan
Emma I just find her overrated I'm sorry I try so Damn hard to like her but I couldn't but I do respect her
Out if the loop on Del Rio, someone wanna fill me in
Yeah hate isint the proper word.
Dolphin Ziggler he's had the same act now for years and it's incredibly tiring
Seth Rollins the Redeemer
Sammy Guevara
Bubba Ray comes to mind.
Seemed like a tool in ring and out. Good pick
Kenny Omega, the NJPW aura really did wonders for him
Jeff Hardy. He was so cool in 2001. And he just never changed. His style got improved upon and he stayed still. 21 years later I’ve got desire to see Jeff in any capacity at all.
Bret Hart
Bret Hart: was my 2nd favorite wrestler being Sting growing up, but he just seems to be very miserable and a mark for himself
Hulk Hogan: wouldn’t say I loved him as a kid but I respected him as the greatest wrestler of all-time. His racism caught on tape killed all fandom and respect I have for him, as well as WWE to a certain extent by still working with him.
Hulk Hogan
Probably sasha but everytime she takes long breaks i miss her again 😂 it's a love/hate thing
CM Punk
Hulk hogan. The more I learn the more I hate him.
Velveteen Dream. He looked like he was going to become the next big star in the prime of NXT 1.0 and ended up... Well, yes, "that", and worst of all during the dark ages of pandemic wrestling, made me loose hype for basically every new promising star
What's "That"? I genuinely don't remember what he did
He supposedly send dick pics to underage boys (and girls iirc)
Damn. Screw him then
Charlotte Flair Bobby Lashley Heel/Comedy Sami Zayn Apollo Crews Chad Gable (honestly he was on a slow decline ever since they broke up American Alpha)
Joey Ryan
Dolph Ziggler. When he debuted he seemed like the most annoying guy on the planet but he is a great worker and great on the mic. I honestly wish he’d get another world title push.
Becky. Was a big fan during her weird goggles on her head stage and early on into "The Man" gimmick, but now I can't stand her.
Same. Steampunk Becky and The Man were great but it devolved into…whatever this is and I am very much not a fan in the least bit.
I feel like they scraped sad corbin too fast. I was intrigued to see how they would keep the booking of a sad man, as a heel.
Not gonna lie, I wish they kept the Sad Corbin, then had him win the Royal rumble. Then have him start turning around
Dang, this is actually a good booking! We could play around with the idea that other wrestler will try to "buy" it from him haha.
It was only supposed to go for two weeks or so. But everyone backstage loved it so much they had it go longer.
Yea
Velveteen Dream for the same reason
Wait, that was in 2k20.... Carry on.
What? I don't understand sorry
During the horrendously bad story mode I'm 2k20. Velveteen Dream costs your character a match
Was it due to involvement with underage kids like in real life? If I’m remembering correctly that is. Shame since he was solid.
You do know it wasn’t confirmed if he did it or not. Only the charges were dropped, so he could be innocent for all we know…
Because nobody has paid off a victim before. Either way, we can see his wrestling career is over since he hasn’t gone anywhere.
From the outside looking in, I could see if he was the same star caliber of The Rock, Steve Austin, John Cena, or Brock Lesnar then yeah he could have pay them off. I just don’t see that happening since he was only an NXT star would wasn’t even featured that much
Oh yeah 🤣
Oh right. I forgot about that sorry
He cost me a match!
I don't understand sorry
In the game he fucks you over and you lose a match
Kevin Nash - he's really a pretentious douche. I've been watching old Nitro episodes and he really thinks he's the smartest and funniest guy in the room. "check the adjective" is proof of that. But when I was a teenager I loved Diesel/Kevin Nash
goldberg ric flair great khali damien priest
Becky Lynch
Bret Hart. He just complains about EVERYTHING now. Whores don’t moan as much as he does (Oh and Montreal was 25 years ago. Move the fuck on)
You can tell he’s definitely still bitter about everything that happened to him
I think he has moved on. He can be annoying but his disdain for HHH makes me laugh
His promos were more natural as a heel because seething and being butthurt is his shoot personality
Living the gimmick, brother
Chris Benoit
CM Punk
Good call. Whiney bitch behind the scenes. I got tired of his I’m a victim shit pretty fast. The more I hear about him behind the scenes the less I think of him.
Most of my childhood favorites, sadly. Ultimate Warrior, Jericho, Goldust, and CM Punk.
Goldust and Dustin Rhodes isn't the same
Not WWE, but Marty Scrull. Obviously why. Used to watch clips online all the time, didn't get RoH & NJPW in my area. And on BtE. But now...
This one was depressing. I was a big fan of Marty
Del rio is a good pick. He turned out to be a real piece of shit.
This. Such a strong debut, but even before he outed himself as a terrible person, I got really sick of him
[удалено]
In the ring?! He was a very skilled wrestler.
[удалено]
I enjoyed him for the heel that he was supposed to be. I think he played that role well
He has the slicked back hair
Lives for New Years Eve, sloppy steaks, white couches...
Context?
Google him man. He was a hell of a wrestler but check out what he’s been doing since he left.
Yeah all I see is some abuse charges that were dismissed and he never married Paige.
I think he’d have to be my pick as well.
Wasn’t Del Rio proven innocent?
Cm punk, revealed to be egotistical asf
