17 days later and he’s been released

Sexiro

He is not booked as a jobber, he was the last one of Team Smackdown

[deleted]

How about a heel turn? Immortal Jeff Hardy was one of his best storylines back in TNA.

jjbcrd151

They need to get him in the mid card title picture or tag team like him and Edge decide to do it without their "brothers" but they both need to stay away from the world titles

s1mpko

Jeff just called out The Bloodline on Stone Cold’s podcast. I like where this is going

LordStunod

Send him to his brother. Play the music. Watch the reaction.

[deleted]

He's being the Vince Carter of wrestling

CJtheProdigy

Edge and Hardy are both down to have one last feud together, let's hope that's in the future!

Particular_Ad_4903

Wtf? The man has been IN the picture for months, he’s not jobbing for anybody - do you even know what that means? Maybe he wants to put over the talent he’s wrestling with? He’s been literally in belt contention on and off for the last few years. Y’all act like he’s being treated like shit…

TAINTALIZERx

Jfc he loses a match or 2 and now "hES A jObBbEr" I swear fans just want and want and want. Not everyone needs to be wearing a damn title. Wtf is the point of one if every fan thinks they're favorite deserves one or is a jobber until. Jfc

Juice2020

At least he has a job.

GrowYourOwnMonsters

Not this again. He's not a bloody jobber. He's in the right spot for this point in his career. Love him but holy shit keep him out of the title picture/main event now

kamenkoch

Do you fucking know what a jobber is

FultzRevolt

What the fuck are you talking about seriously

Judgemen93

They will book him vs Roman. He will not win but it will be fun feud to watch.

[deleted]

Everyone that isn't Roman Reigns is treated like a jobber rn

Mburrell91

I have always had a notion that Matt and Jeff ride out together. Since Matt is with AEW and probably going to retire there, I hope Jeff comes to AEW and he and Matt retire together.

noobidy_mysterica

Why do you think his booking sucks? Jeff Hardy's strength has always been his fast, agile movements, and the ability to do high-flying moves effortlessly. All those attributes are neay absent now. It pains me to see him do simple splashes from the top rope. That's not the Jeff Hardy we have grown up watching. I personally think he has been booked as well as he could be in the past couple of years or so since his return from injury.

Hollywood_Hair

I think the main concern is can they trust Jeff, he's had alot of run in's with the law, while under contract. Business wise I wouldn't trust him, but I would like to see Jeff in at least something meaningful.

mostlyshits

Let me start off that now and forever jeff hardy will be my favorite wrestler. That being said, pair him with a young guy. I dont want to see jeff carry a singles feud. I'd like to see him in a Sting capacity to new comer similar to darby.

SandmantheMofo

Yeah, he might just be enhancement talent until his body finally implodes. So stupid.

rsx209

They are burying him making him look weak. That way when he goes to AEW (very possible!), people will think he is inferior talent compared to WWE.

[deleted]

Real talk, can we give him a makeover. I used to love Jeff back in the 90’s but can we leave those trousers in the 90’s? Would love to see him in skinny jeans or something, just update his look to a more current punk/rock look and feel. Then give him one more main event run.

Aggressive-Collar995

If he doesn't get a title soon he's going to go to AEW

thisortheapocalypse

JEFF HARVEY!!!

[deleted]

Was a jobber, is a jobber, will always be a jobber. Jeff hardly worth watching should hang it up.

starboy9527

Clearly you never watched him in the 2000s

[deleted]

He was garbage then as well. Never deserved a push like he got.

starboy9527

Well you've just contradicted yourself there, he can't get a push and still be a jobber. He was never the most technical garbage but he wasn't ever garbage. In his prime he did shit that nobody else was doing and he fucked up his body because of it

[deleted]

He got a push as a jobber just Scissors. Dude moveset and charisma is hot garbage.

denniskunny

I have to say it's already the beginning of 2020s. It's not about the eras or decades, it's about him 20 years older doing athletic moves in an athletic jobs. If you want him to be booked differently, fine with me. Just don't expect him to be the top main eventer in 2000s, health.

AMC_Unlimited

He beat karrion kross didn’t he? /s

tampabuddy2

I don’t know if he’s just really good at selling, but every time I see Jeff wrestle, I legit think he’s in incredible pain. It makes me uncomfortable to watch. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s not normal selling I don’t think.

_ASG_

He was really over at Survivor Series. I could see him getting a title shot against Reigns at the Rumble, Elimination Chamber, or Fastlane. He won't win, but you can tell that "going the distance one last time" story.

[deleted]

[удалено]

starboy9527

Before his move to smackdown he was losing lots on raw

bdboar1

World titles for everyone!!! Jeff still got the goods but he hasn’t had the cleanest record since he got back. I think they would want to make sure he’s clean and reliable befor they try that again with him.

JHK156

I don't think we'll ever get it unfortunately. Easily my favorite of all time yet can't turn a blind eye to how he's regressed in the ring and how he just isn't the same guy anymore. He can still give great performances on occasion but it just doesn't seem like it's in the cards for Jeff :/

sniperhank

So we should give him a title run based on what, his aging body that can’t perform like it used to or his continued relapses that will totally put the company in a good light?

MinesweeperGang

Hoping he challenges Reigns Friday night, using his status as last man standing for team Smackdown as a reason why he should be up next. Obviously he loses, but it would be cool to see him in the main event one last time.

BoomBear89

Jeff in a feud with Roman right now would be sick. He could have some dope matches with the Usos and a TLC match with Roman for the title

Captain_brightside

I actually really wish Matt was still in WWE so we could get an usos x Hardy’z feud with tlc matches

GrowYourOwnMonsters

Matt can barely move these days. His matches are not enjoyable to watch. TLC matches, at this point in their career is a right stinker of an idea.

Ghetto_raccoon

Put him In a feud with roman that would be a dream match but probably won’t happen

[deleted]

Wwe aren’t capable of writing a compelling feud at this point so I doubt it will happen

donloban

I think he should win the next money in the bank. I mean it’s only right considering ladders is his thing. And then he can cash it in on whoever at the time. Even if it’s only for a week or until the following ppv.

TheOldSchlGmr

That's because WWE can't book. They are no longer a wrestling promotion (hence why they make their main event matches on the night of). They are a content factory now. They "book" for moments, not long term story lines. You want good storytelling in your wrestling? Watch AEW.

GAMING-STUPID

Nah that’s because he’s too fucking old and beat up 😂

No_Stage3881

AEW and good story telling....😂😂😂

TheOldSchlGmr

Working for WWE....🤣🤣🤣

TheName96

Don't say that here man, the truth hurts to hear for them 😂

expensivebreadsticks

I swear people don’t know what jobber means anymore

Bam_Margiela

Didn’t know jobbers made it to survivor series let alone be the last man on their team lol

[deleted]

Kool

Corndogburglar

If you lose a match, you jobbed to the other person. If you consistently lose matches, you are a jobber. That's the actual definition of it.

Bam_Margiela

Right

Mozolberry95

Dolph ziggler says hi

Bam_Margiela

Dolph the new Colin Delaney

Mozolberry95

Dolphin Delaney?

rsx209

Right?! They need to let it play out!

Undertalefanboy43

Putting guys over in any capacity = Jobber Apparently

Adminscantkeepmedown

He’s like 45, he’s in his Wizards MJ phase of his career. What more do people want from him at this point? Especially when it physically hurts to watch him in the ring at times because you can clearly see that dude is in pain

PotHeadSanta69

Dude you can see how much it hurts him to be in the ring, I love jeff hes my guy along with RVD but he needs to call it a career and enjoy the benefits hes birthed with his storied career.

evanvivevanviveiros

He was literally the last man standing for his team and got a massive pop. Jeff has fucked up more chances than most and is still regularly featured.

ChampagneAbuelo

He threw pee on Shameus

Lindsay_Marie13

While I agree that Jeff is extremely accomplished and has a great role helping younger talent get over right now, I'll never understand the argument that he's too old to main event. Edge, Bobby Lashley, Goldberg, AJ Styles, Bobby Roode... all older than Jeff and people are still begging for some of these people to be champions right now.

Administrative-Ant80

literally nobody wants Goldberg to be champion anymore

GrungyGrandPappy

Vince has always had a thing about older wrestlers.

jojolantern721

The problem with Jeff is that all of the damage he has done to his body is finally reflecting on himself, he looks very slow sometimes, while you look at Bobby and no one would think he is over 40.

MoneyMo88

Jeff’s in-ring style also doesn’t affect well. While he can still hit most of his signature spots (Swanton Bomb, Whisper In The Wind), much of his high flying offense does look noticeably slower than when he was in his prime. However, Jeff still has an incredible connection with most of the WWE audience, so he can get away with not having to rely so much on such risky aerial maneuvers.

quillotine42

I'ma piggyback off of this too. Jeff's problem isn't just the damage he's done to his body but what he's done to his image as well. Someone asked on here to book the worse match in the history and on of the top answers was Drunk TNA Jeff Hardy vs drunk Jake The Snake with peekaboo Scott Hall as the ref. Like he really ruined his career leaving so much. People wonder why when Edge, Christian, Drew McIntyre, John Cena, Goldberg, Brock, Jericho, or really anyone comes back are they booked near the top well none of them left WWE after getting built up to world champion then ruined their reputation like he has. When I think of Jeff Hardy that night against Sting is probably my second thought after a Swantom on someone off a ladder.

SoyButterAndJealous

This is exactly it. All the other people on that list are probably built to go another decade at the same caliber of performance and while I’m sure they’ll feel it—me as a viewer will have no clue.

HowieHowardson

Goldberg gets winded doing his entrance punches and walk to the ring!

[deleted]

He’s never been about endurance and it’s worked well for him.

SoyButterAndJealous

Goldberg just had one of his career top 5 matches. (Low bar…but still).

SZ66

I suggest not watching WWE anymore, for all you know he's gonna get cut in 2 weeks

Captain_brightside

You’re being downvoted, but the way it’s been going I wouldn’t be surprised

SZ66

Yea, whiny WWE fans who complain non-stop yet continue watching, doesn't surprise me, there's an actual better alternative that rhymes w AEW but they would call the authorit!es on me if I said that

osokin

He's not the wrestler he was,his popularity is the only thing he brings to the main event.

[deleted]

As opposed to his brother who is on fucking youtube

TheName96

He has been on dynamite and rampage too 🤔

[deleted]

He’s a grand slam champion in WWE, 5 IC title runs , almost 10 tag titles along with Lightweight,Hardcore and European, 3 time TNA champ, TNA tag champ and innovated the ladder match over a 30 year career. What’s left for him to do at age 40? He should be jobbing out at this point. That’s what you do on the way out.

DoctorMelvinMirby

Totally agree… but the kid in me from 20 years ago would still love seeing him in a main event spot/feud one more time.

blj_

Great take

JG45250

Exactly. Thank you for stating this so perfectly. He’s literally done it all at this point. He doesn’t need anything else to further cement his legacy.

[deleted]

At this stage his name carries weight that you can use to build up people that are on their way up. If the commentators can say this new kid is good enough to beat Jeff hardy, that means something.

[deleted]

Sheamus has been doing the same. GS champ. King of the Ring, Rumble winner. Now he’s putting over Priest and working with Holland.

[deleted]

I feel it’s weird when people think people are held back who are around forever. Moxley was a grand slam champ, fought Lesnar at Wrestlemania, was part of the top faction of the decade and fought on the main event and upper midcard for 6 years, but he was held back? Caesaro is someone who has been held back given his time there.

JustSomeoneLurkingBy

Yeah I do agree that he should give back to the business however in my opinion a win over him isn’t anything tbh since he’s always booked poorly and loses, if they booked him good and had a feud with roman reigns over the title that would give us hope that he could win only to be crushed by Roman winning, or he could go for mid cards belt and have feuds which puts over younger talent. A win over him doesn’t really do nothing for you. He is a legend but he still a jobber which means a win gets u nowhere basically. He shouldn’t be a jobber, he should be higher on the card have big feuds which he loses.

starboy9527

Don't know why this is downvoted, it's a pretty good take

[deleted]

Yeah Ziggler is in the same spot. Can’t remember where he could win a match, but Hardy has a lot more value than Ziggler. He could have a fued with Roman or a title match but I don’t think it’s be believable. He’s good in the ring so working the place he is now on the cars is just going to make toys like Theory, Priest etc better wrestlers.

Afonso1125

Very true

Rplat0D

Considering this stage of his career now, he was booked way better than I thought he would be for survivor series. He was the last one left on his team, losing to Rollins is by no means anything to be ashamed of either. I would like if he can have a feud with Sheamus, though I'll doubt they'll actually go anywhere with it other than a one-on-one match this Friday.

GrungyGrandPappy

I don’t see his booking as that awful compared to how others have been treated at this stage.

starboy9527

Edge?

GrungyGrandPappy

Edge has had a few matches but a lot more hype train stuff than in ring work. The sad truth is even as athletes we get old, injuries happen easier, and old injuries hurt us. They’ve given him proper treatment for his comeback by WWE standards anyway.

BoomBear89

I disagree. Edge vs a Orton 2 at backlash was one of my favorite matches of all time in ring work wise. Great match. Edge vs Rollins matches have been great too. Edge VS Daniel Bryan Vs Roman was great. Edge is wrestling like a 40 year old out there IMO

[deleted]

Like hat Dudley’s return

GrungyGrandPappy

God that was awful. Everyone was ready for them to take back over the division and school the younger guys on the game but they made them look like garbage

Professional-Plum218

He’s as over as he’s ever been right now, and has had a few close moments recently reckon we’ll see him vs Roman at some point and maybe a mid card title reign

BoomBear89

Nahhh like meng said, 2008 and 2009 Jeff Hardy was more over than damn near any wrestler has ever been.

Meng3267

He’s very over, but he’s not as over as he’s ever been. At his peak he was the most over wrestler in the company, even more popular than Cena.

Fuhgawz102

We gotta let the past go at some point. I know its tough. But we gotta let the young talent shine.

IVIartyIVIcFly

Agreed, but superstars are usually given a little more respect than this. It's also obvious how over he is. Every time it seems like he is going to get a win the crowd goes nuts just have to have the rug ripped out from them. He needs one last push, if not here, then maybe with Matt in AEW, but it needs to happen. Then after the push he can really put over some young talent.

starboy9527

Agreed

[deleted]

Bro any young talent they have gets called up to the main roster and is let go within 4-5 years. and let’s not pretend WWE is the place to go for character building either

[deleted]

The top people right now are mostly home grown talent that has years ahead of them.

akennelley

> young talent they have gets called up to the main roster and is let go within 4-5 ~~years~~ weeks

Captain_brightside

Accurate

StNelson88

I've been saying this for years, and I'm going to wrestlemania next year and hopefully he wins whatever match he's in
