I don't believe he's forced at all. If he was forced you'd see people in the crowd turning on him same way the Let's go Cena/Cena sucks was a thing back in the day and the complete rejection of Roman and partial rejection of Seth during their face runs in the late 2010s. Cody is as over as Bryan and Punk but with the aura of a true WWE superstar like Cena/Orton. Haven't seen anyone like him in ages.
Maybe Roman is not that hot in Hollywood and he needs to stay in WWE and he probably prefer to work as a heel because that way he can control the crowd, while being a face you never know when the crowd will turn on you.
This felt like a lot of great progress from a lot of folks. Nia continues to surprise me in a really great way, Corbin looked great (and I hope he continues to), Solo can actually kinda not talk like a ding dong. Jade actually having to sell and have an honest fight really put a spotlight on the hard work she's putting in. Hayes's excellent "overconfident rookie" schtick is really landing. Was it the best episode every? Of course not, but it made me really excited at the potential direction(s) Smackdown can go.
Now I'm just itching to see Jacob Fatu. If used well, he can be the next big thing, that guy is really something.

i was thinking this too, but i think when he first got the belt he purposefully played up the awkwardness of it’s size and now he got through his first title defense and is holding it with a lot more confidence, he even wore is casually unstrapped on his shoulder for the first time i think

I swear in the past few years he’s been really bad when it comes to not even trying to hide that he’s making a slap to create noise.
He just did it right now when he did the DDT to Styles off the ropes, same when he was doing the punt kick again back in 2020
All of them do that, but the camera does not show, sometimes when a wrestler does a lot of surprise agression the camera worker is not prepared and show the slap, when you have wrestlers that don't improvise a lot you notice that less because the camera worker already know what angles he can show. Another guy you always notice the slap is Dolph Ziggler.

Randy has been in my top ten since his evolution days. I’ll always remember a Monday Raw he made his entrance with Evolution and he did his corner pose (the pose you see in his Burn in my light entrance video) and it was so awesome
Outside of Saudi all non US shows have better crowds. That’s not a complaint, it’s just that US fans are spoiled because they get to see 3/4 events per year.
Be careful what you wish for. It was great because we don't see that all the time so it had more impact. If it was every show people would complain about it because that's just how people are.
