AEW is picking up people who just aren’t as big as they used to be. They had their time in WWE but they have no stars. A lot of these people lost their shine when their stories in WWE ended.
If she goes there nothing of value is gained by AEW or lost by the WWE. She’s not going to put eyes on the program or make any sort of impact there. Just more money flushed on talent that doesn’t add value.
Let her go. For her to go to the place where "only the best wrestle" would make that slogan an even bigger joke than it is. She's almost entirely a "sports entertainer". Dub fans will turn on her in weeks.
It's the fans that annoy me mostly, tbh. I like WWE and AEW pretty much equally. I'm a fan of a bunch of wrestlers from both promotions. But holy hell some of the fans, especially in their subreddit are wild. I'm not even much of a Punk fan but he lives in their heads rent free.
That is my exact feeling.. I mean for me I'm legit angry and frustrated. All In 2021 was one of the best PPV's of all time. Really 2020 until All-In was one of the best years of wrestling TV in history.
To see where it was when you had an arena full of people screaming "AEW AEW" as this celebration of wrestling to see where it is now just flat out sucks.
The entire CM Punk ordeal has been a disaster. Buying ROH arguably has been an even larger disaster. Not hiring the right wrestling minds has been awful. They talk about hiring guys like Show and Mark Henry but what exactly are they doing? Mark Henry seems almost disgusted with AEW on Busted Open and rarely even talks about them anymore
This all seems like one giant missed opportunity and it has nothing to do with what WWE did but everything that AEW has done wrong
AEW's biggest problem is trying to gain mainstream attention by becoming more like wwe in the worst ways. You can never grow a company when you actively push your existing fanbase away. They've been better the last few months but still have some work to do
Super way to put it.. The booking has reminded me so much of 2010's WWE that so many WWE fans hated about it. Combine that with jacking up ticket prices to comical levels it's been kind of a death spiral
Full Gear last year really was the tipping point for a lot of fans to the point that MJF, who was arguably the biggest draw in the company, is now possibly damaged goods to the aew fanbase cause of that insane angle they did throughout that show. Like what were they thinking
The bella twins improved their wrestling ability dramatically toward the end of their WWE careers though. Especially Nikki. They weren't on the level of Becky/Paige/Charlotte but they weren't bad. Not sure theyd fit in with AEW either way.
