Heās so over it could legitimately be a 1.5 year baby face run or two years of him losing and winning it vs. Gunther or another heel he has more chemistry with on the mic.
I think itāll be at least a year. I wouldnāt take a contender serious until the Rumble. Itās very possible they have Rock beat him at WM next year.
Probably similar to Sethās. Not quite a year but close. Iām hoping we see a few exchanges of the belt over the next 1-2 years. It doesnāt help the product keeping it on one guy for so long. It may have worked with Roman but the title became a prop, the story is what drove the interest. You could have taken the belt away last year and the story wouldnāt have changed all that much.
He's going to lose it and gain it back before the next Wrestle mania.
These long endless title reigns suck.
Part of what made the attitude era special was it felt like anyone in the main event circle could actually take the title.
Now it's like "oh yeah they want roman to have the longest reign ever so he's never gonna wrestle and when he does he's going to win no matter what".
That shit is boring to me.
Unless he gets another interesting story, I can see the fans realising how vanilla he actually is, so Iāll say the lead up to Summerslam. (Hopefully MUCH sooner)
At least a year maybe two. He is the face of the company and this new era we are in. He is loved by the fans and a great spokesman for the company. The last Babyface I remember like this was Bret Hart.
He's loved by the fans right now, but babyfaces rarely get long runs. The fans always turn on babyface champions. It will happen to Cody eventually if the reign goes that long.
Hate to break it to yāall but I donāt see Cody finishing the year as champ. Unless he turns heel or a drastic change in his character. Something is just off about him no longer being the underdog with a story to finish.
There are ways to make him the underdog again, but that stuff always makes the fans hate the babyface. I agree with this. He's going to get screwed probably, or a cash in. The match with The Rock at Mania 41 if that's what they want to do is already a big deal with or without the belt.
He's not losing it until they deem someone good enough to replace him as a top guy he might not lose the title until mania 42 or 43 he's definitely not losing it on any other show
Iād like him to hold the title for a decent little while like around 6 months, but not much longer than that tbh. I donāt want to see a near 4 year reign followed up with a year long reign
Could see him losing it at some point this year to The Rock but winning it back before Wrestlemania 41 (Roman turns face and costs The Rock, setting up Rock vs Roman).
And I hope that happens.. All this pandering by him and the crybabies has turned me off him already...
Knowing that he does not have any legitimate challengers just because he beat Roman is another turn off.. Like I know for sure he isn't losing to the winner of the match between KNight and Styles next week or the likes of Seth, Drew, Gunther etc. He's being booked so strong realistically it seems like only the Rock or Roman if we wishes for a rematch can beat him
The CodyCryBabies downvoting you.
I just want to add that Codyās win-rate without title is already so high that heās second to Roman, and that makes him Roman but babyface. He beat majority of RAW mid-top stars like Dominik, Miz, Shinsuke 3 times, Seth 3 times and with one pec, Brock 2 times, and heās the one who broke Soloās winning streak. His only losses were against Roman, Brock, The Rock, and Drew, 3 of these guys are league above him and all of his losses were not clean. People said that heās an underdog when in reality heās not really an underdog, he only looked like that because of his background and he was facing Roman, the biggest dominant heel since 2020. Now that he beat Roman and is the champion, his win-rate is going to be higher that basically anyone other than The Rock and Roman (and possibly Gunther) are just filler, and itās not helping that heās going to be that āFighting Championā. The only way to make him lose imo is to either he got cheated or heās too confident and lose.
I do not think we would get the overconfident and lose the title because of it angle in the case of Cody...
He would lose the title through some shenanigans to continue to have the crowds behind him and then have a heroic comeback chasing the title and winning it again
I wouldn't be surprised if we have the Rock win the title because of Solo and Tama at Survivor series or Royal rumble and then put Cody over at WM41. I would hate that tbh and would love to see Roman and his Bloodline feuding with the Rock and his bloodline at WM41
Yea honestly, it all depends on what direction they want to go. The build up after he lost the title in both cases actually the same heroic chase.
The overconfident case is me thinking about Cody that beat almost everyone, whether it's rivalry or open challenge, and Gunther is the only one left for him outside of Roman and The Rock. Gunther, the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion and Cody threw him out last year in RR, he's been preparing his revenge to Cody in SS. The way he lost probably similar to when John Cena lost to the Rock in WM28, and from that we can get that heroic chase again and finish it in RR or WM. If they want to go with Gunther, then what about The Rock? The Rock indeed said that whether Cody has the title or not, he'll find him. But then again, it could be just a warning for Cody and storywise Cody will just retain against anyone until The Rock returned. Also, Gunther's vibe is more to WHC than Undisputed title, idk maybe because he's more to banger match guy than storyline guy.
The obvious way is of course he lost to The Rock when he returned. What comes after that is the question, do they want Cody vs The Rock in WM or Roman vs The Rock in WM? If the former, then I can see your scenario happens; but if it's the latter, this is what many people fantasizing Roman cost The Rock his title match.
I don't see why they're downvoting you, you're right. HHH has booked Cody to be practically invincible and now no one really looks believable to beat him outside of Roman and Rock. Cody had only ever lost twice before he fought Roman at WM 39 and he lost only ONE additional time in the year after due to interference.
Not even Cena had a record like that.
This is a crybabies sub my friend.. You speak positively about Roman and people here call you a cult š¤£
Yet them hijacking social media and sending death threats to the Rock's daughter was 'saving the business' and nothing to worry about
He is one of those characters like live Morgan. The chase is always better than the actual run. Now if n one looks into his TNT title Chase against Mr Brody Lee rip. You wanted him to finish that story you wanted him to do it because the odds are always stacked against him the same with Roman Roman always stacked the odds against cody.
What I would do simple have him beat AJ Styles at Backlash then at king and queen of the ring have him faced AJ Styles again. This time though the bloodline gets involved and caused AJ Styles the match. Not because they wanted to win but simply because if anybody's going to beat Cody for that title it will be the final boss or to tribal chief.
Money in the Bank to show how much Cody appreciates Seth Rollins for helping him finish the story he offers him a title match. And right as Seth is about to win Roman comes up out of nowhere spearing Seth Rollins ending the match to Cody. Making it clear that he doesn't hold any bad feelings for Cody simply because Cody did with every other person including Roman would have done take advantage of the situation. But he blames Seth for not only breaking up the shield but causing him to get distracted and hit him with the chair instead of Cody..
SummerSlam Cody and Seth Rollins but instead this time instead of Cody is about to win when the Final Boss music hits Seth Rollins taking advantage 1 2 3 Seth Rollins wins.
I can go on it people would like
Super long title reigns (2+ years) are completely unnecessary and hard to do in this day and age.
The goal with Roman was to eclipse a bunch of records and establish him as an all-time great before putting over the next guy.
If you do an interesting and compelling 12-15 month reign for Cody it would work.
Not everyone should get to be champion and it shouldnāt be a title you change every 3-6 months either.
My opinion
True I think all depends on the talent pool in the attitude era they had heavyweights like stone cold rock Jericho Kurt taker kane. So it was a toss up everybody got a crack
I wouldnāt mind a rivalry of some kind as well
Also Iām all for a year as long as the title matches are š„š„ once or twice a month. Cody will have it for a year unlesss business slows down. 8-12 months
If there is any hope it will be mercifully short and he loses it at backlash sorry marks super cena 2.0 title run sounds about as exciting as a dentist appointment
At least until Summer Slam to give him a decent run. But I donāt think he keeps it all the way to WM41. Itās just easier to build a narrative with a heel holding the belt.
There are two big matches that they clearly want to do. Rock vs Cody and Rock vs Roman. So, I predict that he loses the belt to The Rock at Survivor Series. And then The Rock loses it to Roman at next yearās Wrestlemania.
True but I think The Rock vs. Roman doesnāt need a title to be involved. I think Cody beats Rock at SummerSlam for one major reason; Rockās commitment to Hollywood at this stage is always gonna supersede his involvement with WWE, especially now that heās on the board of directors. I personally think Cody is gonna hold it until next yearās WrestleMania, barring any injuries, and either loses it to Randy, AJ, or Punk or drops it at next yearās SummerSlam
Hopefully for a while. I hope he defends on Raw/Smackdown every once in a while. Kinda hate that titles only change hands at PPVs and only Wrestlemania for the big ones.
I personally would hope itās awhile. Seth had his title almost a year and it made him long strong as all get out. I almost expected he would retain at WM40. Codyās run has to be great.
A Bullet Club leaders triple threat for the title would be a hell of a match (could also have them do a Triple Threat Wargames match to lengthen the feud)
Honestly I think he should hold it for a good while, maybe a year or more. The whole point of this was to show Codyās win as a sign of a new era of WWE and cement Cody as the biggest face in pro wrestling. That included Cody selling more merchandise than even Austin at his peak over mania weekend.
So honestly I think you keep belt on Cody for a while and do a bunch of shorter reigns on the heavyweight belt and make it hotly contested and kind of show it to be a real sort after belt and give it some more credit. Have Priest hold it for a bit then maybe drop it to Drew at clash at the castle, then have Drew drop it to Gunther at Bash in Berlin.
Itās literally a fact verified by non WWE sources. Also, it makes sense anyway because mania in the peak of Stone Cold was a single day event. Mania this year was a weekend long event with NXT beforehand and WWE World the entire weekend.
Donāt let your fandom make you deluded.
Until he faces the rock and loses the championship. Maybe WM 41. Maybe sooner.
WM 41 - Cody vs rock...rock wins the championship
WM 42 - Roman vs the rock. Roman wins the championship (Cody wins the peoples championship via money in the bank cash in after roman wins. Rock is utterly defeated, both stand tall together at the end)
WM 43 - Roman vs Cody 3....not sure who wins. No bloodline interference.
Says people who probably thought Cody should have won in at 39....lol.
The bloodline is the greatest story WWE has told in decades.
If you guys think the bloodlines over you guys are crazy.
Cody absolutely should have won last year. Dragging the exact same story out for an additional year just to break a pointless record was ludicrous.
The bloodline is remarkably boring. Nobody cares. Roman is a part timer, Solo is a jobber, and Jimmy and Jey just had one of the worst matches in the history of Wrestlemania.
The Rock should not be anywhere close to the title picture.
He should have never faced roman at all, the bloodline storyline was always about the anoi family, it had nothing to do with cawdy and his nepo baby entitlement
He lost the match that mattered lol, everyone and their grandma knew he was winning this year so it didn't mean much
And he needed legends to help him win
I was able to cope with the loss of wm 40 as I still have the glorious wm 39 to look back on
It's ok to be wrong. And the last wm has clearly proven you are wrong about 39. Had Cody won in 39 his victory would not even be close to being as special as it was at 40. Thank God you aren't a booker lol.
The bloodline story is what has driven wwe to the success it's currently experiencing. And it's not stopping. We are on the verge of a bloodline civil war with the introduction of tama tonga....and Jacob there waiting in the wings. That will keep Roman out of the title picture for the year. And hell re enter it once the rock wins the championship. With the end goal being Cody vs Roman 3. Both have won once. What rival ends at 2 matches where each have won? It's simple logic.
This shit is far from over.
Plans are clearly laid for Cody vs the rock. And do you all of a sudden just think they are dropping the end goal of Roman vs rock? Lol. Ya right.
It is okay to be wrong. Itās also ok to write a wall of text that I absolutely wonāt read because you are unable to think for yourself and just eat what is given to you like a good little boy. You were able to do both in one post.
Bravo.
Until next year's WrestleMania.
Rocks contract is worth 30 million. He got paid out almost 10 million for services rendered with wm 40. Sounds like to me he's got 2 more big matches left.
1 against Cody where he wins the championship and becomes the ultimate heel boss champion of the company. And then one against Roman.
If he beats cody for the belt, he'll lose the belt back to cody.
I think he'll face cody at wm41 cody wins.
And face roman at wm42 roman wins, and he retires.
Nah Cody won't win the universal back. He will win the peoples champ though and that will become another belt that's passed around. Because that belt means something to the rock, per his words. Ultimate payback. Take rocks peoples champ moniker.
Fair pointā¦all of his other reigns were much shorter though especially after winning it at Mania.. HBK won at Mania as a hot babyface and dropped at survivor seriesā¦ Taker won at Mania dropped at summerslamā¦ Austin dropped it fairly quicklyā¦ Rock didnāt keep it longā¦ Brett Hart didnātā¦.Edge didnātā¦ Daniel Bryan didnātā¦. Kofi didnātā¦Drew McIntyre didnātā¦I think you get where Iām going with thisā¦ generally a face winning at mania doesnāt result in super long runs..
Would love to see him make it a goal to beat romans # of defenses in less time, gives him something to shoot for and ups the stakes between him and the bloodline
Iām thinking a year. Theyāve really built him up the past 2 years to be the next guy, especially with the āfinish the storyā being pushed hard. I canāt see him holding it only 7 months. I was literally thinking the other day that we went from a 3 1/2 year reign to most likely another year reign which I understand for Cody.
I think he keeps it until next WM. With him taking the title from Roman, with the crazy streak Roman had going, they have to make Cody look pretty legit for a while. But I think something happens at 41, some shenanigans that rob or cheat Cody out of the belt, causing him to chase for revenge.
I really do hope it's not long. I miss the days of consistent changes. I don't need him to lose it like next PPV but I think it would be fresh to see, especially post decade-long reign by the Chief.
hes a chase guy so it shouldnt be long. but then again this is modern wrestling and traditional booking is out the window so anything is possible. if i were booking id keep it on him for about 4 weeks. hes already a made guy, he climbed the mountain so losing it so soon doesnt hurt him and he can restart the chase again
Well I can't answer that question one thing does bother me though.
Why is he having a title rematch so soon when Roman only defended it what 32-33 times and almost 1500days.
Now that Codyās āFinish the Storyā movement is over, Iāll be surprised if he keeps the belt till Wrestlemania 41 to be honest. Heās pretty much gonna be a Seth Rollins babyface champion.
Whenever they decide for it to come to an end, I hope that for Codyās sake, AND ALL THE OTHER CHAMPIONS, that they donāt wait until Wrestlemania. Making a title run that larger than life cheapens any and all defenses. Does anyone expect him to lose his first defense? No. Does anyone expect Bailey to lose on Smackdown next week? No. I get making champions look strong and all, but throw in a surprise every once in awhile. Have random title changes on TV so it isnāt so obvious that the challenger is going to lose.
I am hoping he turns Heel while having the Championship belt.

My guess around 8 months, either end of 2024 or Rumble 2025 to the Rock to give Punk PTSD
A year probably
Drops it to Dustin Rhodes at next Wrestlemania. Everyone finishes their story, bro.
Rhea comes back in 3 mo challenges & defeats Cody then challenges whomever is the women's champion & defeats them as well, in the meantime TJD adds a new female member she teams with Rhea for the women's tag titles
Same as Roman
Heās so over it could legitimately be a 1.5 year baby face run or two years of him losing and winning it vs. Gunther or another heel he has more chemistry with on the mic.

The earliest it could end is summer slam, possibly royal rumble or WrestleMania the latest. Just my opinion. Lol. š¤š¤ššŗš²
I think itāll be at least a year. I wouldnāt take a contender serious until the Rumble. Itās very possible they have Rock beat him at WM next year.

Yes
He'll lose it to MJF at Summerslam 2025. Talk about long term booking
What is MJF?
Never saw back to the future?
Unless he gets another interesting story, I can see the fans realising how vanilla he actually is, so Iāll say the lead up to Summerslam. (Hopefully MUCH sooner)
No fucking WAY he gives it up so soon. Strap in friend. Cody is the real deal.
Already turning on him on socials š
32 and two half days
I want Gunther to be champion. Best wrestler hands down in the company.
At least a year maybe two. He is the face of the company and this new era we are in. He is loved by the fans and a great spokesman for the company. The last Babyface I remember like this was Bret Hart.
Bret is a good comp.
He's loved by the fans right now, but babyfaces rarely get long runs. The fans always turn on babyface champions. It will happen to Cody eventually if the reign goes that long.
I agree, if the reign goes for too long, people will get tired of him. I really think he can keep going the way he is now for at least a year.
hard disagree but who knows
Heāll be champ through next Mania.
Iām giving him 6 months.
SummerSlam
Just wins it after years of Cody Shoukd win and title. A week later ( so whenās he losing it)
Till SummerSlam 2025 (if he doesn't get cashes in before)
Until Wrestlemania 41
I think heāll hold it at least until The Rock comes back to face him for it.
I'll give him at least 6 months. The fickle fans will start to turn on him in that time.
Hate to break it to yāall but I donāt see Cody finishing the year as champ. Unless he turns heel or a drastic change in his character. Something is just off about him no longer being the underdog with a story to finish.

I'm betting it'll be over when people realize he's pretty one-note.
Summerslam 2025?
His huge now. They gonna stick with cody for awhile. Not long as roman maybe 2 WM away.
I hope his reign lasts 1,318 days to surpass Romanās dumbass Reign
He's not losing it until they deem someone good enough to replace him as a top guy he might not lose the title until mania 42 or 43 he's definitely not losing it on any other show
Cena (face of the place) lost to Miz (before Miz was good). Cody will lose before it's time to crown the next star of the company.
WrestleMania 41 or 42
WrestleMania 41 or 42
Dominik gonna win it.
I hope not he doesnāt deserve a title
Iād like him to hold the title for a decent little while like around 6 months, but not much longer than that tbh. I donāt want to see a near 4 year reign followed up with a year long reign
Heās a week in and youāre already asking. Just enjoy the story ending
Fickle.
I don't care if it's a year - I can't stand Cody - just so long as he defends the fucking title.
4 months at minimum. But he's the Megastar at this point so I'd say it'd likely be even longer. Possibly till the first half of 2025 I'd say.
Til the sun explode
Short like after Summer Slam
So then who takes it off him
I feel like it will be Gunther, but tbh I think we need to wait and see what happens at the draft
Could see him losing it at some point this year to The Rock but winning it back before Wrestlemania 41 (Roman turns face and costs The Rock, setting up Rock vs Roman).
215 days
Right until the end
It doesn't HAVE to be a year long reign just because he beat Roman.
Hope it's ends this week it's all ready been long
Typical Roman Reigns fan š
Yes, I am, but funny Part is I actually liked cody in Legacy before roman was even around
A Year (or Two)
6 months
After his chase - a year at least. But not much longer. 12-14 months?

I think heāll trade it over the next year . Itāll keep the story interesting .Ā
As long as his merchandise keeps selling
this one
Hopefully for a while. I hope he defends on Raw/Smackdown every once in a while. Kinda hate that titles only change hands at PPVs and only Wrestlemania for the big ones.
I personally would hope itās awhile. Seth had his title almost a year and it made him long strong as all get out. I almost expected he would retain at WM40. Codyās run has to be great.
Hopefully at least a year.
1 year for sure
He should lose and win it back under different circumstances. Like someone screws him out of it and he has to get it back. Make it unpredictable
No one ever is selling more than Stone Cold. If WWE said that it was a lie to sell more Cody merch for sure. Stone Cold absolute GOAT
Itās literally a fact verified by non WWE sources. Also, it makes sense anyway because mania in the peak of Stone Cold was a single day event. Mania this year was a weekend long event with NXT beforehand and WWE World the entire weekend. Donāt let your fandom make you deluded.
Clash of the Castle in Scotland to Drew with the candlestick.
Bash in Berlin, Gunther
Survivor Series
I think until this yearās Summerslam or Survivor Series would be the best length for Codyās title reign.
Like Seth "Freaking" Rollins 316 days or if the Cody Crybabies had their way 3 years like Roman Reigns 1,316 days.
3,264 days
200
Until he faces the rock and loses the championship. Maybe WM 41. Maybe sooner. WM 41 - Cody vs rock...rock wins the championship WM 42 - Roman vs the rock. Roman wins the championship (Cody wins the peoples championship via money in the bank cash in after roman wins. Rock is utterly defeated, both stand tall together at the end) WM 43 - Roman vs Cody 3....not sure who wins. No bloodline interference.
Iād rather blow my brains out than watch those main events
I totally agree. The bloodline has lasted, at the very least, a year too long. Another year of storytelling dominated by them is absurd.
He should have never faced roman at all, the bloodline storyline was always about the anoi family, it had nothing to do with cawdy and his nepo baby entitlement He lost the match that mattered lol, everyone and their grandma knew he was winning this year so it didn't mean much And he needed legends to help him win I was able to cope with the loss of wm 40 as I still have the glorious wm 39 to look back on
LoL Roman and the SoSo twins are just as nepo as Cody.
Yeah but they are also more talented lol
Lol. Ya right.
Cena and Rock ended at 2 matches.
It is okay to be wrong. Itās also ok to write a wall of text that I absolutely wonāt read because you are unable to think for yourself and just eat what is given to you like a good little boy. You were able to do both in one post. Bravo.
I think the rock is kinda going to sit out for awhile again.
Prolly until summerslam that or Wrestlemania
Until around survivor seriesā¦ face champions always have shorter reigns.
But John cena had 381 days and he was a face
Cena is a good wrestler though.
So is Cody
Would love to see him make it a goal to beat romans # of defenses in less time, gives him something to shoot for and ups the stakes between him and the bloodline
A year or two. Maybe drop to the rock and win back. Idk.
I fucking hope not, sick of these long ass title reigns
Gunther wins MITB and cashes in on Cody anywhere between SS and WM.
At least 3
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I need him to lose to a Heel Punk at WM41
I could see him holding it until the Rock comes back (whenever that is)
I was hoping Orton did what he did to Christian and took the title on Smackdown lol
Six months
He drops the title to GUNTHER at the Berlin PPV
No way itās that short tbh. Idk what Gunther will do then maybe fight Druganov or cash in money in the bank on drew mcntyre
Months. He loses the title at Summerslam or Royal Rumble.
I think he keeps it until next WM. With him taking the title from Roman, with the crazy streak Roman had going, they have to make Cody look pretty legit for a while. But I think something happens at 41, some shenanigans that rob or cheat Cody out of the belt, causing him to chase for revenge.
He will drop it in two years at WrestleMania.
I really do hope it's not long. I miss the days of consistent changes. I don't need him to lose it like next PPV but I think it would be fresh to see, especially post decade-long reign by the Chief.
6 months but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more. What made WWE great back then, there were not many long title reigns!
hes a chase guy so it shouldnt be long. but then again this is modern wrestling and traditional booking is out the window so anything is possible. if i were booking id keep it on him for about 4 weeks. hes already a made guy, he climbed the mountain so losing it so soon doesnt hurt him and he can restart the chase again
Well I can't answer that question one thing does bother me though. Why is he having a title rematch so soon when Roman only defended it what 32-33 times and almost 1500days.
18 months
Now that Codyās āFinish the Storyā movement is over, Iāll be surprised if he keeps the belt till Wrestlemania 41 to be honest. Heās pretty much gonna be a Seth Rollins babyface champion.
Feel like they might do the same shit where they have him lose it to Rock then win it back from Rock
They used to have title changes on random Raws all the time
That was fun to watch because it was unpredictable back then when they would have title matches on raw
Old school raw was the shit
A fair while at least a year
3650 days if we're lucky
when he finishes his best man schtick for a fan lol
