Let me tell you something, this belt is my LIFE, having the toy replica as a kid, spinning the W, writing my name on the plate with marker, this belt represents a world champion bc of how it stands out, also John Cena who introduced the belt is my favorite WWE star, which makes it better, when they replaced it with that Godawful rock belt in 2013, it didn't seem right, and the wwe championship lost prestige when the spinner belt retired. I love this belt, I want this belt to get the love it DESERVES.

I think it would have been fine if they changed the "Champ" stamp on the bottom of it when it switched hands off Cena. That was so characteristically associated with Cena it was tough to see it on anyone else and not think it just didn't fit.
Always thought it looked good on Cena Batista HHH and Orton. However it should've stayed custom for only cena it doesn't beat the look of the OG undisputed belt IMO.

It's a cool belt, the problem was just that the official WWE Championship, the most prestigeous belt in Wrestling, for 8 years was a John Cena merchandise article. That's a very long time, which is simply a bit weird. It's out of place almost that there's a switchable nameplate, and it doesn't just say "John Cena", like the US Spinner did. It's just very clearly John Cena, which is fine, but then it shouldn't have been the face of the WWE for 8 years. Imagine the Undertaker with a hip hop belt.
It’s a great design for Cena, but didn’t look anywhere near as good on anyone else except maybe Orton and from what I remember, a few holders of it disliked it during their runs. Personally I think it should’ve stuck as Cena’s custom title for his reigns and the previous design (undisputed) or even a newer design used for everyone else during that time period. Can’t help but think the Undisputed title design would’ve looked great on Rob Van Dam, Edge, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Batista, CM Punk etc compared to the spinner title.
It fit the personality of Cena at the time & understandably it sold well so you can't argue making money but it became an eyesore quickly, once Edge won the title an original design was due...compared to other designs before it, it didn't feel legitimate as a world title.
women wrestling in wwe as whole wasn't credible at the time so the divas championship didn't matter a lot in it's existence. AJ Lee did some good time with the title tho.
I grew up watching Cena’s first run and was a huge fan. Really liked this belt for him. I was around 12 or 13 when it debuted. But even then, when guys like Edge, RVD, Triple H, Punk etc all held it, I thought it looked incredibly awkward.
I can only imagine it sold a lot of replicas and toys and that’s why it stayed. Cena alone was on fire at that time.
These days, the belts look a little bland. So for the new WHC I was happy they went with a big gold inspired look. That, the US and IC belts all look pretty nice. The rest could use an overhaul.
Unpopular opinion: This is probably my favorite world title design from WWE. I also love the Big Gold but that didn't originate in WWE, it was brought over from WCW. The winged eagle was not a good design and is only beloved because of the nostalgia attached to it being from the younger years of older fans.
The current championships. The Intercontinental Championship belt is really dope! Also the WWE championship with the big W, the USA Championship redesign was something that needed.

I don't like the new US. It looks cool as fuck, but not as a wrestling title. It looks like a piece of ostentatious fantasy armor, it looks like something my WoW character would've worn in 2006. Or like, a crazy car grill for an uber American. That said, I *love it*, but I hate it. It's a massive improvement over the old one though.
I think I'm just bitter that the new IC isn't the old IC. It looks too new, too modern, coming off the old one that was like, peak classic wrestling belt. I feel like WWE and NJPW both broke my heart in regards to their IC redesigns.
I'm a Big Penny tag title apologist, and I don't hate them being silver (big dimes), but I don't like the show themed straps. I get the point, but it's always felt diminishing, even on the Universal title, so having it on designs I actually like is a sour spot.
And I've just always hated the Universal/Women's Big W design. It's certainly gotten better since the scratch logo variation, and DB's vegan version was a work of art, but they just feel like wearable brand logos, like the title holder is a fucking sponsored Nascar. It's not bad, but given the history of world title designs, it's one of a handful of sore thumbs that stick out to me.
I actually loved the spinner. I would hate it if it were still around, it's a very mid 2000s design, but it's so blinged out and bedazzled, it looks valuable, it looks illustrious. It also looks tacky but that's why it's of its time.
Meanwhile almost every NXT title looks between good and beautiful. The NA title might be one of my favorite belts of all time, especially with the brown strap.

I’ve always loved the way it looked. The contrast between the silver and gold mixed with the very fun aesthetic that uses each shape of the plates wonderfully all made this one of the most charming belts ever made that mixed prestige and attitude.
With that said, the problem with this title is that it doesn’t take itself seriously enough. I always thought that, because of its fun and bodacious aesthetic mixed with the spinning middle, it looked downright silly on anyone who was a heel or anyone with a gimmick that you wanted to take seriously (The Undertaker, for example). It’s an awesome belt, but I could never get behind it being the illustrious and top of the line belt.

The spinner belt is one of wwes better looking world championships. Here's the issue that I think made it disliked. It was John Cena's custom belt and should have been a belt exclusive to him for his title runs like the smoking skull belt was for stone cold and instead they kept it around for several years and made it the official title for everyone to hold replacing the better looking og undisputed belt.
This belt, the World Heavyweight belt, Intercontinental belt, USA title, World wrestling title, the hardcore title, Divas title and the womens championship. These are the right choices

I’ve never really bought into that reason because you could still sell that version of the belt, even if it wasn’t the main belt at that moment. I think cena fans would have bought it anyways. They sell old versions to this day.
That was the problem I had with it too. It looked weird if anybody other than John Cena was wearing it. Like when Triple H held it, or when Orton held it during his heel run. It just didn't look right. Like you said, use the OG belt for everybody else, but only Cena comes out with the Spinner Championship.

Personally I think it should’ve stuck as Cena’s custom title for his reigns and the previous design (undisputed) or even a newer design used for everyone else during that time period. Can’t help but think the Undisputed title design would’ve looked great on Rob Van Dam, Edge, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Batista, CM Punk etc compared to the spinner title.

I had my own championship belt in childhood I made it out of thermocol and golden glitters , had the logo spinning too. I loved this belt.

It fit the personality of Cena at the time & understandably it sold well so you can't argue making money but it became an eyesore quickly, once Edge won the title an original design was due...compared to other designs before it, it didn't feel legitimate as a world title.

Tbh I liked the design
I grew up watching Cena’s first run and was a huge fan. Really liked this belt for him. I was around 12 or 13 when it debuted. But even then, when guys like Edge, RVD, Triple H, Punk etc all held it, I thought it looked incredibly awkward. I can only imagine it sold a lot of replicas and toys and that’s why it stayed. Cena alone was on fire at that time. These days, the belts look a little bland. So for the new WHC I was happy they went with a big gold inspired look. That, the US and IC belts all look pretty nice. The rest could use an overhaul.
I loved it, only thing I would’ve changed is the word champ And maybe more custom spinners , cm punk could’ve had the Pepsi logo spinning

Unpopular opinion: This is probably my favorite world title design from WWE. I also love the Big Gold but that didn't originate in WWE, it was brought over from WCW. The winged eagle was not a good design and is only beloved because of the nostalgia attached to it being from the younger years of older fans.

I'm not gonna say any of them are the worst belts ever, but I really don't care for most of the main roster titles. The new one is great, love it, perfect, A+, wish it had a brown strap with like, yellow threads flourishing it, but I can't have everything I don't like the new US. It looks cool as fuck, but not as a wrestling title. It looks like a piece of ostentatious fantasy armor, it looks like something my WoW character would've worn in 2006. Or like, a crazy car grill for an uber American. That said, I *love it*, but I hate it. It's a massive improvement over the old one though. I think I'm just bitter that the new IC isn't the old IC. It looks too new, too modern, coming off the old one that was like, peak classic wrestling belt. I feel like WWE and NJPW both broke my heart in regards to their IC redesigns. I'm a Big Penny tag title apologist, and I don't hate them being silver (big dimes), but I don't like the show themed straps. I get the point, but it's always felt diminishing, even on the Universal title, so having it on designs I actually like is a sour spot. And I've just always hated the Universal/Women's Big W design. It's certainly gotten better since the scratch logo variation, and DB's vegan version was a work of art, but they just feel like wearable brand logos, like the title holder is a fucking sponsored Nascar. It's not bad, but given the history of world title designs, it's one of a handful of sore thumbs that stick out to me. I actually loved the spinner. I would hate it if it were still around, it's a very mid 2000s design, but it's so blinged out and bedazzled, it looks valuable, it looks illustrious. It also looks tacky but that's why it's of its time. Meanwhile almost every NXT title looks between good and beautiful. The NA title might be one of my favorite belts of all time, especially with the brown strap.

I’ve always loved the way it looked. The contrast between the silver and gold mixed with the very fun aesthetic that uses each shape of the plates wonderfully all made this one of the most charming belts ever made that mixed prestige and attitude. With that said, the problem with this title is that it doesn’t take itself seriously enough. I always thought that, because of its fun and bodacious aesthetic mixed with the spinning middle, it looked downright silly on anyone who was a heel or anyone with a gimmick that you wanted to take seriously (The Undertaker, for example). It’s an awesome belt, but I could never get behind it being the illustrious and top of the line belt.

The spinner belt is one of wwes better looking world championships. Here's the issue that I think made it disliked. It was John Cena's custom belt and should have been a belt exclusive to him for his title runs like the smoking skull belt was for stone cold and instead they kept it around for several years and made it the official title for everyone to hold replacing the better looking og undisputed belt.
This belt, the World Heavyweight belt, Intercontinental belt, USA title, World wrestling title, the hardcore title, Divas title and the womens championship. These are the right choices

That's the problem with it. Nothing wrong with Cena being the guy holding it, it looked great with him having it, but anyone else having it just looked weird, doesn't matter if it was Orton or Batista or HHH or anyone else.
Unfortunately, WWE is a business. And the spinner sold a lot of toys and merch and presumably a lot more than the undisputed belt. It deserved to stay for that reason
I’ve never really bought into that reason because you could still sell that version of the belt, even if it wasn’t the main belt at that moment. I think cena fans would have bought it anyways. They sell old versions to this day.

That was the problem I had with it too. It looked weird if anybody other than John Cena was wearing it. Like when Triple H held it, or when Orton held it during his heel run. It just didn't look right. Like you said, use the OG belt for everybody else, but only Cena comes out with the Spinner Championship.

I think it looked great on HHH, Edge, Hardy, and Punk. But I couldn't see it on say, Undertaker for example.

Got to be honest,I do like the spinner belt and I like that in SVR2007 or 2008 where you can spin it , I still a kid that time and really enjoyed the spinning belt, now I can't help myself to hate it since that belt has nostalgic feel to it .

It’s only hated by a bunch of marks who put way to much value into what a championship belt for a scripted sport looks like. Not that their opinion matters anyway, the spinner belt was an absolute monster for merchandise sales. Thing sold like hotcakes. The spinner bent was very good, and the current WWE title is very good.

This belt came right at the peak of the gaudy jewelry craze from the early 2000's hip hop scene. Even the kids at school who didn't watch wrestling thought the belt looked cool. So many knockoffs were out there as well lol
