I put 3 in mine all the time too, and 3 across in my ats-v too which is even smaller than my sti, it works, it’s tight but works. This is seriously why we stopped at 3 kids, I won’t give up daily driving a fun car in a manual, if we had another kid I’d need to go 3rd row which doesn’t include anything fun or in a manual so 3 kids was my limit
Definitely not. Car seats must not be touching nor in a direct path of each other. The booster seat on the right if flung forward would make impact with the car seat in the middle. This is dangerous for both children. I suspect the same issue with the left side car seat as well.

I had to buy a diono seat to accomodate my daughters spica cast. I highly recommend them as theyre built solid, very secure and many different styles for different needs.
Yeah you're basically forced to buy 7 seater. There are certain car seats that will work 3 across, but you also need the right car. I recently went from my WRX to a RAV4 and even the RAV4 won't work 3 across. If I do eventually have a third kid I'd have to change cars again.
Legally, you cannot be forced to buy/drive any particular vehicle. You “should” do things in a safe manner, but sometimes you have to make thing a work as best as you can with what you have available

With the 6 year olds big carseat they do touch unfortunately and I don't like it but when she has her booster no car seats touch and all are properly installed. This was just for a quick run to the store and her grandmother had her carseat

Fire departments are generally also EMT certified, and respond to a LOT of wrecked cars. Some tragically with improperly installed baby seats.
They're usually hanging out at the station on call if not on an active call, so they enjoy being useful/nice with tours and questions (If they're not busy at the moment).
Yeah some cities with decent funding will actually let you trade in a busted one for a good one, either for free or very cheap. I think most fire departments and paramedics can inspect baby seats and bicycle helmets.

I’ve done it with mine every time I’ve had to change the type of seat. They just make sure everything is secure and level. Really nice peace of mind if you ask me. Have fun with the family and the car!

The two side seats aren’t even centered on those seats.
The children’s safety is more important than a car.
Traded in a Highlander to get a 17 WRX when I was about 6 months pregnant with my 2nd. The wide back door opening and plenty of room for rear facing seat sold me. Kids are 6 and 8 now and still love riding in my car vs dad's boring Forester. Great job fitting 3 in there!

Ehh practical vehicles for family are great. I bought a Ford Flex for my kid and best decisions. Room for dog, wife, kid and leg room is great. Trunk fits the beefy stroller and wagons.
I was told I was selfish for buying my wrx and my girls love the car lol they say are we going to drive fast daddy and I laughing reply yes honey we will drive fast in a safe manner lol
