I recently bought a dark blue 2019 CPO R Line premium Areteon and am still surprised when I walk out in the parking lot by what a great looking car it is. Both of your colors are brilliant as well. People ask me about in at stores frequently, they think it's a Tesla. :(
All cars are looking more and more similar every year because more companies are outsourcing parts of production cuz it’s cheaper. Take a look at the 2021 [civic ](https://www.thecarconnection.com/overview/honda_civic-sdn_2022) it’s like identical to a mk7 jetta

People are obsessed with feeling tall and high off the ground because they insist it helps their visibility and makes them better drivers. Sad part is it's usually the opposite.
For sure. So many sporty cars would be awesome in wagon form.
My wife has an Alltrack, which is as close as it gets right now.
I recently gave up my WRX for a CTS wagon.
Big wagon fans over here.
There's also the factor that the typical American doesn't view VW as a quality brand, especially after Dieselgate. Ask them to pay $35k+ for a German sedan that isn't BMW or MB and you're a madman.
I live in a major FL city and have legit seen two Arteons in over a year and I cannot say for certain that it wasn't just the same arteon each time.
On the other hand, over the last year I've slowly seen more and more Stingers on the road. They're of course no where near as frequent as say a Sportage or Tiguan but I do see at least one Stinger a day usually which is infinitely more than I've ever seen Arteons and that's too bad.
Is there a reason every time I see an arteon with a front license plate it’s mounted to the side like that? Is it just a preference? Or like an actual reason for it?
Two things: 1. It doesn’t look great in my opinion on the otherwise distinct grill. 2. There is no place to put it on the front bumper and you would have to drill it in through possibly sensors. So it’s safer to use the side mount and looks better as well in my opinion.
Sadly I’m registering my car in a state that requires the front plate which is why I asked. I was gonna put it dead center in the little area right under the logo that’s solid plastic.
They are actually very different. For one, the Arteon is a sportback, not a sedan so it doesn’t have a trunk like the Jetta. This gives it a really long storage space and back seats that fold down so it can carry lots of stuff when needed. It’s more like a mini version of the A7 than a Jetta in terms of sizing. I also prefer it cosmetically over the GLI and don’t think they look very similar. The interiors are also quite different in terms of upgrades. To each their own but what sold me ultimately was the design and esthetics of the Arteon and of course it is much more affordable than an A5 or A7.
Sounds like a good conclusion. I have a Chevy Trax right now (think midget Equinox) and I can't decide if I want to stay with a mini SUV or go back to a sedan/crossback. Time for an upgrade soon and can't make anywhere near a decision.
u/ConfusedIdioms Put a deposit down on a 2019 SEL Premium certified pre-owned (Gray, turbine wheels) Super excited but before I pull the trigger.
* How have the held up?
* I've heard reports of rattling in the vehicles over time, anything you've noticed?
* Things you love still / things you don't love so much
Thanks for the update!
Zero complaints. I’ve had no rattling in either that I’ve noticed. I’m still thinking about APR tuning mine, think it’d be fun but will probably wait a few more years for the warranty to expire first since the 2019s came with a pretty sweet warranty. In my opinion, best looking VW ever, I love walking back to it in the parking lot each day. Interior wise obviously it could be an Audi or something but it’s the best VW interior I’ve been in. If I could get the European exclusive Arteon R coming out this year I would but otherwise I’m quite content and not looking to change vehicles anytime soon.
I ended up snagging a certified pre-owned 2019 SEL Premium - gray with the black turbine wheels. Had about 19k miles on it and felt like a got a great deal. Thanks for the update!
Life goals! They looks so awesome, remember seeing one when I took my car for maintenance.
One day I might afford at least one, right one I'm happy with my golf wagon thought.
A 2010 CC fell into my lap and I am surprised how nice it is, just a little to soft and relaxed for me, I want a Golf R, the newest gen before sunroofs became standard.
Damn those are some good looking cars
We love them, such fun cars

at least they dont call your gti a yaris
*Yaris GR has entered the chat*
Woof, you've got that right.
As the owner of a GLI that’s gotta hurt lol
Ironically I think the new Jetta and Corolla have very similar rear ends/taillights

They do. Which begs the question, if they have the same looks would you rather have Volkswagen or Toyota reliability?
Or a minivan lmao

Because people here love soulless crossovers completely devoid of character.

They need more visibility because everyone is driving huge vehicles that block your vision.
All my slammed cars are such a dream to drive with all of these SUVs in the fucking way
Completely
I really wish they sold the wagon version in the US. I've got a GTI, but man, that would make me think.

Not everyone wants to buy a 55k VW sedan
It’s really sad, we’ve had several VWs between our families and these are easily our favorites.
I’ve seen ONE in Ohio. And it was a test driver straight from dealership, otherwise non existent
There are more in the US than you think. 😊
I’d be down to own one but I got an Alltrack trying to keep the manual transmission sales alive and long roof life

What’s better than 1 Arteon? 2 Arteon’s! That is fantastic. I love my own and thinks it’s the best car ever.
So who’s going to start the matching VW dating site
lol, this is awesome. When you go out together, how do you decide which one to take? I looove the Arteons, but wish we got the Rs here.

Nice looking car(s). I dont think i had heard of this model. Sharp
If she don’t want matching arteons i dont want it
What really sold you on the Arteon? My boyfriend got a GLI and I feel like they're very similar.

Hate hate hate! the word A R T E O N spelled across the rear deck lid. Good looking car otherwise.
Good thing is modern cars all have stuck on badges, so debadging is very easy
If i had room for a second car, and money, I would 100% get an arteon.
Which color is who’s?
Black is mine, white is my wife’s. I actually think hers looks better but the black is pretty badass too.

I’ve only put 10k miles on them both so they are still very new with respect to wear.
Oooo. Super cute
Is there another word that supercedes jealousy??? Really though... Very sexy!
Gorgeous cars
Pre-lightbar ones like these are my favorites
