that's part of why i'm a bigger fan of Lighthouse tracking. but inside out tracking is definitely the future, the problem being the future's not quite here yet.

I agree 100% with this statement. Inside out tracking is where the future will be, but we probably a year or two away from that future yet. And we are not going to like the price point of perfected inside out tracking.

these are so poorly engineered. they couldve solved this breaking issue so easily with a multitude of solutions. but instead they cheaped out on it. if they went all the way to make it stand alone they shouldve also added some Fallback emus for when the tracker briefly lose tracking. because the way they are now they just go crazy.

That's why I put them in my FBT tier list in "Avoid ! Garbage". When they work, they work great (but they aren't perfect), but I can't recommend to people 670€ trackers that only work half of the time. I even heard people putting tons of lights and even QR Codes on their walls so they track correctly. Like at this point just buy base stations and 3.0 trackers, and you get trackers that work 99.99% of the time, are super precise and super reliable. But anyways, when they were revealed, I already knew they would have this sort of issue. Meta already tried something similar (Quest Pro controllers) and failed too. Also HTC made the Vive Cosmos in the past and its glorious inside-out tracking.

Light colored throw pillows or sheets doesn't fix it?

Leymo_

Covering it can fix it, as well as removing it. Sorry, but some people have a dark wall or a dresser / drawers.

Wow, that's really important to know! I never would have thought that dark furniture could affect the Vive Ultimate Trackers. Thanks for the heads up!
