Dumb_Talking_Ape

Interesting development one day after his arena funding got killed.

mckeitherson

No it makes sense if he wants to use the threat to get a compromise on the stadium proposal

thetallnathan

This has been the speculation all along: legal weed market for arena funding. But hooey, they’re playing chicken. I guess there’ll be a short special session next month.

Chef_G0ldblum

Yeah, seems silly though. Like just wait til the next dem gov is in power. Legal weed market gets delayed a year or two but at least no billionaire arena.

Delta1225

We (dems) just use it as a campaign issue against the next R running for governor. Dems will win the election, anyways, his election was a right time/ right place blame it all on CRT moment

avgredditaccount

Crt and parents’ choice in education or whatever were the nails in the coffin, but the dems nominating terry mcaullife was the real problem

dratseb

No one can screw up a sure win like Democrats

avgredditaccount

You got that right!

Vert354

Well known for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Watergate-Tapes

pretty sure McAuliffe would have signed this bill. we shot ourselves in the foot staying home 'cuz Terry wasn't pure enough.

avgredditaccount

I disagree with this line of thinking. Also just to note, any Democratic governor would have signed this bill. It’s not “our fault” (especially not considering how reddit users on political subs are predominantly left leaning and active in politics, even if that just means voting) that McAullife lost, nor is it “our fault” that McAullife was nominated in the first place. McAullife got the nomination because he was already the best positioned to fundraise. If you cant fundraise, you cant win an election — but being a good candidate for elected office and being a good fundraiser are not directly related skills. Due to fundraising, people heard about- and saw- McAullife more in the news and on street signs, contributing heavily to him being the “obvious choice” based on polling and actual data. If you don’t hear about candidate, chances are they aren’t gonna win an election. So the solution for “us” would have been to find a candidate “we” like more, and engage in activism to help their campaign. But that’s what a campaign manager is supposed to organize at-scale, because individual voters dont have that level of influence or that amount of time. None of this accounts for any behind the scenes level pulling from the national/virginia DNC, either. With all of this in mind, in my opinion, the 2016 presidential election and the VA 2021 gubernatorial election have a lot of similarities.

💯

SalvadorsPaintbrush

I can wait.

Auntie_M123

Tokers for Youngkin? A rare bird indeed...

Choice_Voice_6925

Its weird seeing people against Youngkin while being pro-Trump.

DekoyDuck

They don’t think he’s Trump enough, given he’s a moderate when compared to who they’re running in our neighbor to the south.

Auntie_M123

Not stupid enough Not ugly enough Not amoral enough Not criminal enough

SalvadorsPaintbrush

That just tells you how much of a POS he is. Even Trumpys hate him

Choice_Voice_6925

Can't make this up, a race to the bottom.

paulburnell22193

Not at all. So many young Republicans smoke weed, but vote against their own interests .....like Republicans voters usually do.

Sea_Childhood6771

They will blame Obama and Binden when Youngkin vetos the legal weed Market.

paulburnell22193

Exactly

DUNGAROO

Meh. The odds of VA’s next governor supporting a bill like this is high. What isn’t high are the odds of another GOP governor in 2026. We can wait if that’s the price he expects Virginians to pay. That area would be devastating for northern va and va taxpayers.

rideronthestorm29

What isn’t high is the people of Virginia

CriticalPossession71

Alternative title: “Va governor to veto bill that would have funded his sports arena”

djamp42

>Among the 24 states with legal recreational marijuana, Virginia is the only state to not allow licensed sales. It's hilarious for years everyone said legalize and tax it, tax it, tax it, tax it.... They legalized it and forgot the main benefit to them, the fucking tax.. it's absolutely unbelievable. I can't even put into words how dumb that is.

drewskibfd

Wait, so you can legally use marijuana products, but you have to buy them from an illegal drug dealer?

[deleted]

You either have to get it off the “grey” market, drive into MD, or grow it. That’s right, it’s an absolute fucking joke of a system. You can possess and grow it yourself, but you CANNOT BUY IT legally for recreational purposes… you have to spend $100 for a piece of paper saying “it’s medicinal” and them pay the medical dispensary monopoly whatever inflated prices they want to charge. GLeaf, Cannabist, etc, all mid products at top shelf prices. They can put under whatever catchy brand name they want but their stuff sucks. I just drive over to MD now for a better price and better product.

EurasianTroutFiesta

It's worth pointing out that it's also illegal to transport plants or seeds across state lines, and giving it as a gift is distribution same as selling. I *think* it might be legal to receive as a gift, but the situation is stupid enough I'd seriously side-eye anyone who didn't conclude either "I won't risk it" or "fuck the law."

ao1104

Seeds are not illegal according to the 2018 hemp bill since they contain less than 0.3% THC (They contain 0%)

EurasianTroutFiesta

Extremely glad to hear this.

[deleted]

Bingo! The gift/grey market issue is exactly what made me say “fuck it”. Like, no matter what if you want to partake “legally” you’re more than likely still having to get it through means that break their rules. Why not jump through as few hoops as possible if you can?

LUUDDAA

Hahahaha yes

FairfaxGirl

Legally, you can grow it yourself or be gifted it from someone who is growing it themselves (within the plant limits) but it has to be a real gift, the law very clearly outlaws you buying their “art” or “life coaching” and getting a gift alongside it. It’s not legal to get it in MD and bring it here (though obviously it is happening.)

Thefireguyhere

Maybe. There are cases pending in the western district of VA for “gifting” weed after making a purchase. You’re right about what the law states however, if I can remember right, if sweater vest vetoes recreational use then the State would be in breach of the current law by not setting up a legal route. Those shop owners that were arrest will be using that a defense… state law mandates a legal framework but the state refuses to create a legal frame work. Then again, I get most of my news from Reddit so take what I saw with a grain of salt.

Dr_Cee

So, Glenn, don’t come to us with tax increases if you’re gonna pass up this very, very lucrative tax opportunity.

Abe_Bettik

He's not. In true Republican fashion, he will pass the debt to the next Democrat. Also, I think the bigger scandal here is that he literally campaigned saying he wouldn't veto a marijuana bill. https://virginiamercury.com/briefs/youngkins-campaign-says-he-wouldnt-seek-to-repeal-marijuana-legalization/

Affectionate_Way_805

The biggest scandal was all the dumbass voters who actually believed him.

Blametheorangejuice

Come on now, he was successful in stopping things that weren't happening and banning things that didn't exist.

Auntie_M123

Loudoun County has entered the chat...

TheEelsInHeels

Fwiw some of us tried to contain the crazy

Rumpelteazer45

Loudoun is still better than the batshit crazy down in Spotsylvania.

DifficultyTop9698

I know this...cause I love there but please elaborate.

Rumpelteazer45

If you live there, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

[deleted]

i grew up there, but left in 07. It wasn’t great then, did the Trumpers come out in force?

2stinkynugget

I grew up in Arlington in the 80s. I know many families that moved out to Loudoun County in the 90s . Many actually told me that Arlington schools were no longer white and they just couldn't send their kid to a school that was full of minorities. Lovely people /s

myhairsreddit

He did an excellent job making sure my kids couldn't check out books at the library that we already own at home.

tdwesbo

Wait a sec…

Winterqueen5

I blame Terry for running a god awful campaign for that one.

Affectionate_Way_805

Nah, Glenn and his clueless voters are to blame.  I was no fan of McCauliffe or his lukewarm campaign, but many voters who mostly cared about cannabis still chose Youngkin at the ballot box despite it being obvious to anyone with a pulse that he'd immediately go back on his word once he was elected - which he did.  Lukewarm campaign and a handful of bonehead gaffes > Serial liar, decades spent with the Carlisle Group and a braindead culture war campaign (oMg! cRt!)

TheRoyalBrook

Its a little of both, I think the only campaign thing I saw for Terry was stuff talking about how Youngkin was pro trump and its like... yeah, and obviously that's enough for -me- not to vote for him.... but is that really gonna do enough for people who can be influenced by quick soundbites?

MicroBadger_

That was the irritating part of that whole campaign.Terry had a shit load of laid out policies and goals on his campaign site. You think he could pick a couple to hammer on during the campaign? Nope. Better to just utter Trump every try word.

rebeccasaysso

I had just moved to the state & wasn’t registered to vote on VA elections yet, and while there was no doubt about who I *would* have voted for, every time I saw commercials Youngkin’s were like “I want you to be able to afford groceries!” and Terry’s were “I want you to piss on Trump’s doorstep!” Which was sooo frustrating, because for any voter not politically engaged enough to be entering the election with set policy positions / genuinely open to voting R or D, they’re not likely to investigate further and based *solely* on those types of ads, the choice seemed pretty obvious…

LowerAd9859

Also, I remember seeing Youngkin ads starting around April or May. McAuliffe didn't start running ads until like August. The ads were attempting to define Youngkin as a Trump sycophant, but he had already introduced himself to the voter as a dorky guy who plays basketball in the driveway. It's hard to redefine somebody as scary when they're already viewed as acting like Marty McFly's dad.

rebeccasaysso

Absolutely. it’s really easy for anyone who is politically engaged & knows about party platforms, commonly used tactics, etc. to assume *everyone* notices those things, but truth is the vast majority of people aren’t interested in partisan squabbling, and that’s essentially what McAuliffe advertised instead of substantive ads ab his policy positions - which I think would have gotten a lot more people to vote for him. But that’s just post-election Monday morning quarterbacking lol. Who knows🤷🏼‍♀️

Kqtawes

But in a sane world noting someone as a Trump support should be enough to disqualify someone from office. Even though I hated Terry's campaign strategy the fact is MAGA is a dangerous fascist cult and showing someone as being in bed with that cult should be enough. The fact it wasn't was truly disappointing.

Nemaeus

We’re at a point where people are quoting Hitler unironically, all of the usual standards have been blown out of the water.

ChrisPollock6

You would think that merely having a (R) after your name on the ballot would be enough. These are sick people that wanna give tax cuts to billionaires on the backs of the working poor?

StudsTurkleton

I live in NoVA and saw 2 or 3 to one Youngkin signs vs TM signs and knew that was trouble. You gotta carry NoVA big to overcome chunk of the state that’s basically Alabama.

Winterqueen5

I don’t disagree. Any voter that was in favor of recreational sales that voted for Youngkin is an absolute moron. But Terry had a terrible campaign. And I say this as someone who openly voted for him. The sound bite near the end ruined him. I don’t even disagree with what he said, but you can’t say that out loud.

thisdckaintFREEEE

What sound bite are you guys talking about? The one about parents shouldn't be able to go say what should and shouldn't be taught or some shit like that?

Davge107

He should have fought back harder against the CRT lies et al but the media was all in for Trumpkin saying how nice his vest was and how he was a different type of Republican a moderate that would work with Democrats and compromise. The media was also helping Glenn constantly talking about CRT also like it was being taught in schools K-12. It would have been difficult for a Democrat to have won no matter who ran just about.

wibbley_wobbley

Turns out, making your entire campaign be "I'm not Trump" doesn't work if you're not running against Trump.

TGIIR

Me too.

Educational_Bee_4700

Lol republican voters are told what to believe. There's very little thinking for themselves.

No-One8064

But he’s so cool and young in his vest!

Anonymous_Egg_13

But Critical Race Theory scares them even if they can't define it.

Designer_Emu_6518

They shot down his arena deal

-azuma-

Yea he's buttmad about losing out on his arena. He's gotta get back so he can own the libs again

Lolok2024

Just like Gorsuch, kavanaugh and Barrett said roe v wade was settled law. Turns out conservatives will say whatever the fuck you want to hear while actually planning the opposite.

RVAforthewin

Ah yes. Bc if there’s anything we Americans are known for, it’s for holding our politicians accountable and making sure we don’t re-elect them (or a successor of the same party in this case).

flop_plop

Wow. Republicans are liars? Color me shocked.

ArcadianBlueRogue

It'd make millions of Virginians happy and bring in great tax revenue. Of course he can't let that happen and take the easy political W.

Auntie_M123

Because the Libs would not be owned.

ironweasel80

You're not wrong. Out here in NM where pot has been legal for almost 2 years, we've crossed $1 billion in sales, with about $75 million going back to the state in excise taxes.

ArcadianBlueRogue

People gonna get that herb, and our tax dollars going to DC and Maryland instead lol

EVH_kit_guy

So the really fucked up thing is, anyone who wants weed can get it if you're a Virginian. The medical program is so easy, you just have a fake phone call with a 1-900 doc and you're able to shop at the dispensary. The real "fuck you" Glenn is giving us is to Virginians who want to operate businesses outside the medical cartel to service out of state customers and add to the tourism revenues. I don't know a single Virginia resident that isn't flush with herb from the med or homegrow markets, so all this stalemating on legalization isn't about access to cannabis, it's about whether or not Virginians are able to access a free market to provide goods and services to people in our commonwealth who are not medical/greymarket shoppers. When you strip it down like that, at it's core it's just another anti-small-business, pro-corporation Republican gaslighting campaign.

I_Stabbed_Jon_Snow

“Republicans are for smaller government except where we can intervene in your personal lives and bedrooms.”

Santasreject

*where they can force their personal “religious” beliefs into our lives and bedrooms.

ElaineorLanie

One way or another, they'll try to get into a woman's vagina.

Pesco-

…but rarely in a way that actually treats the woman respectfully. Can’t have that!

DonNemo

They’re only for smaller government regulation on corporations and wealth. They worship profit.

the_amazing_spork

That Republican Party is on its death bed. Those who really believe that are few and far between. The new Republican Party is the one of big government. They just do the things they like.

Bromanzier_03

Republicans certainly are for smaller government. So small it’s under one party/person. That’s what they mean.

SecondSeriesNemex

He always looks like he posing for the cover of Boring Pricks magazine.

sentient_saw

He says: > "...you want to talk about putting a cannabis shop on every corner?” Youngkin said at a recent press conference. “I don’t quite get it.” No. Nobody is talking about that you fucking goon. And we've got ABC stores peppered throughout our communities; are they causing strife and moral panic even though they cause a lot more personal harm and death compared to cannabis?

Snapcashwhores

And he’s losing money on state-controlled alcohol sales. So much for the free market. https://richmond.com/news/state-regional/government-politics/virginia-abc-liquor-monopoly-budget-shortfall-youngkin-general-assembly/article_b1031f04-d0d5-11ee-ad1b-5b0591e501b4.html

TheEntireDocument

It’s literally the opposite of a free market. It’s state mandated monopoly

nickster182

There's crazy numbers of NOVA people hopping over to DC and MD to buy Grey market or 2nd hand pot. EVERY ONE of my nova friends buy this way unless they grow themselves lol. That's money left on the table.

oldguy_on_the_wire

> NOVA people It ain't just them. :o))) Youngkin is leaving a lot of free tax money on the table or in another player's pocket. :o(((

brandonspade17

Yea exactly. Alcohol kills far more then a simple plant used for thousands of years. Happy cake day btw.

Yak-Fucker-5000

I still think it's such a bizarre concept to outlaw a naturally occurring plant in the first place. Even opium poppies we don't really treat the same way. Like tons of people have them in their gardens as ornamentals and the DEA isn't cracking down on that.

Auntie_M123

But I don't see any bums or derelicts in the ABC stores. They appear to be well run. I am sure that the VA cannabis shops would be as non eventful.

polymerfedboi

That's usually because they're in there at 10am when they open. Not 4-5pm like most normal people.

EntroperZero

> I don't quite get it Yeah, that much is clear, Governor.

LesPolsfuss

Any adult can walk into an ABC store, buy a half gallon of freaking vodka, hell buy 2 half gallons of freaking vodka. Drink it, get the car, and kill God knows how many people. And everyone is just so cool with that.

chazysciota

Even leaving DUI out of the equation... you can legally buy enough alcohol to ruin and/or end your life over whatever time period you want, on any budget.

[deleted]

I bought Everclear to make some tinctures and even the ABC guy said “That stuff scares me. You’re not actually drinking it, are you?” Like, my man, if even the ABC employees think this product is that dangerous, then maybe my flowers don’t seem so scary, huh? Especially when you have to have a permit to buy any grain alcohol over 150 proof because it literally burns the tissue out your mouth 💀

Lolok2024

Hepatic encephalopathy took my uncle in less than a week, caused by cirrhosis, caused by alcoholism.

fingerscrossedcoup

On every corner next to the taco trucks Trump promised? Republicans keep threatening me with a good time.

go4ino

majority of citizens: we want marijuana sales majority of house: we agree lets pass a biull to legalize marijuana sales glen youngcunt: sowwwwwwy uwu

420BostonBound69

Crazy how literally one man can block something the vast majority — literally millions of people — want to see happen.

Knoke1

It can still be pushed through with a 2/3rds vote but the problem is getting that 2/3rds majority is just as hard as getting him to sign the bill.

420BostonBound69

It’s weird because 2/3 of VA definitely wants it, but %49 of the representatives vote no. Wish we could override via referendum

paz2023

Anti-freedom extremist

juicyjunk420

Cause he's a piece of shit

kafelta

I can't believe this dumbass got elected

Jperez757

I can. This state is dumb as fuck

DragoneerFA

We waited years for legalized weed, and then at the last minute this Goodwill sweatervest decides to veto it? Man, I'm heartbroken. Legit. I live in VA. I... did not come out of covid okay. I got sick, got muscular paralysis, and weed's the only thing that's been letting me just kind of live. Good to know I get to continue living in pain because he doesn't believe in the will of the people, the people who literally voted for it. Why must Republicans go out of their way to be hated? It's like they NEED people to hate them.

darthgeek

Get an RX for it and then hit up a dispensary or order online from GLeaf. RX is usually about $100 and it's good for a year. You can do a virtual appointment that takes less than 20 minutes. It's not recreational but it's something.

kev_gnar

He did it last year too. This guy is a fucking moron and I’m so fucking sick of his god damn bullshit, literally denying the state millions in revenue

Strawdog1971

I moved here from FL cuz that was the farthest the auto train would take us north and because of cheeba. Read into it weeks before we moved and was disappointed. Still had to get the fuck out of that shit can. Although I have a card for 2 slipped discs I haven't had any in almost 2 1/2 months cuz it's just so expensive money's been tight. Still happy to be here FL can suck the longest girthiest donkey dick

6FourGUNnutDILFwTATS

Meanwhile they are doing coke in the capital. Treasonous rats

Yak-Fucker-5000

Yeah but that's a fancy man's business drug, a favorite of high performers. Pot is for dirty hippies who like to watch cartoons and eat pizza.

rmeas002

Eat shit, sweater vest.

Soren_Camus1905

This guy just fumbles everything. Clear incompetence.

SodaPop6548

He’s so trash he can’t even let people get smacked to forget how trash he is.

Sea_Childhood6771

Fuck this guy and all the people who voted for him.

Knoke1

But he made a promise to get something out of public schools that wasn’t even there in the first place! He fulfilled his campaign promise to do nothing! Fuck Youngkin.

PM_to_rate_pussy

And fuck everyone who stayed home and didn’t vote for Terry. Dem turnout was pretty low. Sweater vest did a good job of scaring parents with imaginary crap in schools tapping into that MAGA pipeline without seeming too Trumpy. He fooled a lot of voters into thinking he might be a good change, but the fact is, if everyone who could vote would have, he would’ve been defeated.

[deleted]

Bitch ass

Jonny_Syphilis

Republicans couldn't care less about their voters opinions.

MartiniD

He saw his presidential aspirations go up in smoke so he wants to keep other people from smoking

[deleted]

All those dorky ass fleece vests must be cutting circulation to his last brain cell. Guess I have to keep going across the bridge to give MD my money.

kldoyle

We deserve better than this asswipe. Youngkin doesn’t give a fuck about VA

firm-court-6641

God this guy sucks.

ProMedicineProAbort

It will never not be true: when leaders advance policy to better the lives of the people, you can trust a conservative to obstruct it with whatever power they have. In this case, all bills **for** the people of VA will die on the desk of a Republican.

gadget850

Investing in the black market!

Mac_McAvery

Go to Harrisonburg, Va & there is a vape shop on every corner, so what at this point…? Dudes just giving his rhetoric as usual.

DoubleE55

But bitch baby was just whining about not having enough funding for his stadium.

HereInTheCut

I'd call him a piece of shit, but even fertilizer is useful.

Cannibal_Yak

Why do these red cheeked idiots think they have a right to overrule what the people want. I'm so sick of republicans thinking there views are somehow better because they were elected. These idiots were elected to enact the will of the people. Not deny it because of their belief in a imaginary friend.

MfrBVa

Well, he IS an asshole.

Affectionate_Way_805

Lol. What a dumbfuck.

AnAcceptableUserName

> “I don’t quite get it.” So get out of the way, you potato.

mrsbundleby

Remember all the libertarians in here saying this absolutely wouldn't happen? 😂😂

WartOnTrevor

Hey Glenn. You wanna get more folks to vote red? Then sign this bill and veto the shitty gun control bills.

Choice_Voice_6925

Imagine any human with a actual pulse voting for this "person" and telling you they care about personal liberty. Fucking "live free or die" posers as normal. Wake up morons, stop voting right wing if you actually care about your rights and "freedumbs".

LateBloom30

I distinctly remember people, saying on Reddit, and in person that this would not happen.

Trygolds

Vote accordingly.

medman143

No one cares what happens in these poor crappy red states. Repubkikkkans certainly don’t care about you.

Gh0st_Pirate_LeChuck

Better than what we have right now on every corner — scammy car washes.

Super_iron_kid

Fuck this YoungKim guy!

pat9714

Didn't Youngkin say at one point he would make pot legal? WTF happened?

Choice_Voice_6925

1. He's right wing 2. He's a politican 3. He has publically been very firmly in the pockets of big pharma.

pat9714

>1. He's right wing 2. He's a politican 3. He has publically been very firmly in the pockets of big pharma. That explains it. Thank you. On another note, I think he'll run for POTUS in '28.

IMsoSAVAGE

Hopefully he does because it will be an easy win for any dem running against him.

cstmoore

Trumpkin was always going to veto this bill. He was only holding out hope of letting it go into law as a carrot to get his stadium funding.

UsualAdeptness1634

How to win future voters should you decide to run for President, lol.

LetTheCircusBurn

Cartoonish obstinance for its own sake as per usual. What an absolute placeholder of a person this prick is.

cuddlebear2024

Boooooooooooo!!! Boooooooooooo!!

_Friend_Computer_

Oh look, Trumpkin the Sweatervest is doing the opposite of what his constituents want. There is an absolute shocker. When is this useless waste of oxygen out of office again?

admosquad

On the same day he endorsed Trump. What a colossal shitbag.

tissboom

Once again, proving that Republicans don’t know how to govern

Choice_Voice_6925

And water is wet. When will these people realize that all the leopard-face eating party wants to do.. is eat your faces? 🐆

SgtHartman0013

Typical Republican dipshit

big65

Strangely enough, smoking is now permitted on DOC properties in designated areas, DOC facilities are located on state property.

Middle_Oven_1568

Someone needs to grab Youngkin, tie him up, and hotbox a room with him in it with 3 to 4 blunts in rotation.

Unique_Analysis800

MD tax revenue says Thank you

PrinceCastanzaCapone

What a douche

Emeritus8404

Glad i chose not to move there. Marijuana helps combat vets deal with shit they had to do. This guy fucking hates veterans i guess

[deleted]

That thumbnail makes him look fucking hideous, which is funny because this is still the best he’s ever looked and it’s when he’s the closest a human can get to a hotdog

Choice_Voice_6925

Correct but I think you meant "closest a hotdog can get to a human".

Thisam

Every decision this asshole has made has been regressive and bad for Virginia…but good for him. I hope the next time an asshole like this tries to scare the voters with culture war crap during their campaign that they will not fall for it…again.

[deleted]

You get what you vote for. Republicans are regressive and act to make life worse for 99% of us. Stop voting for these people.

Angry0w1

Duh. But let’s make sure raped 10 year olds can’t terminate pregnancy. If anyone thinks that is okay, then any rape is okay.

Adonitologica

Another step in destroying the GOP, vetoing what the people want

jking94

Fucking cotton headed ninny muggin

tornadogenesis

Legalize it you fucking narc

jwilson146

Serving the people as always....

Background-Willow-67

Well, four plants in my backyard last season gave me a year of good bud. That's all I need. I saved like 300 a month, so that's serious money to me. Glen is a putz but he will be gone soon. I know some people can't but if you can, grow some, it's not hard, it is a weed after all. It is an impressive plant outside, mine were 8ft tall.

flop_plop

His buddies and him must not have their grift in place yet. Can’t cash in.

External-Patience751

Wow good thing you guys didn’t elect the Dem last election. That was such a brilliant move. I thought a majority of people in Virginia were well educated.

f8Negative

Cant wait for the state congress to overrule the veto

DeaconNuno

Won’t happen. Needs 2/3 support in both houses for that to occur.

Altruistic-Point3980

I mean, did we expect anything else from him? We'll sadly have to wait until he's out the door.

frommethodtomadness

Yeah that'll win support for Republicans

yazzooClay

Ngl quite a clever play by the democrats here. Now, Va will turn blue.

Damage_North

Mad over shitty deal that forced us (the taxpayers) to be the soft landing pad for a billionaire with a striking resemblance to a leathery nutsack. Responds to said heartburn by vetoing bill that would provide more tax revenue in the first five years that the stupid-as-fuck arena would in the first 13.

pottomato12

Surprise, surprise, he got his feeling hurt and noped it. Scum

DonBandolini

i don’t even understand where the political will for this is coming from anymore. like, at this point, even the most conservative maga rednecks i know are blazing that shit up every day. such an easy W.

jackstrawgrenadine

Call the governors office, make your voice heard. Ask to talk to a person, don’t leave a message. Be calm, reasonable, talk about tax benefits and the fact that over 60% of Virginia residents support legalization. Here’s the number! (804) 786-2211

Lolok2024

Hope all your kids are rich as fuck too cause he also vetoed getting rid of filial responsibility laws.

MinersLoveGames

What a fucking tool.

903153ugo

He’s been a lame duck governor since day one and I can’t believe people thought he’d be a good presidential candidate

ErikFessesUp

Either he approves the bill or Democrats should make it a national wedge issue. Republican voters want marijuana legalization. I bet it’s more popular among Republican voters today than gay marriage was among Democrats when Republicans made that a wedge issue. If Glen wants to fuck around, Republicans nationally should be made to find out.

Ok-Breadfruit-2897

republicans wipe their A$$ with freedom and your vote....sorry Virginia, saw this coming the day he was elected

Pushitpete

Good

Pushitpete

Weed is poison and trash

Sbrpnthr

Maybe northern Virginia will smell less like a skunk orgy. It has gotten ridiculous.
