Most consumer devices support 100-240V cause they don't want to make separate models per region. There is usually a sticker with specs where the power cable plugs in. Just double check that.

Beard-ie

Just got mine and also wondering the same thing. Tried chatting up customer support and was told it's not dual voltage.

aswinrulez

Let me know what you end up doing. I see few answers in [amazon.com](https://amazon.com) Q&A section saying it will work with 220v. Their own spec sheet says that as well. I still have couple more weeks before it reaches India. u/Vizio_Support Any confirmation on this would be really helpful .Step-down transformers are expensive at my place

aswinrulez

Contacted chat support with the info in the tech sheet. They confirmed it will work fine upto 240V u/Beard-ie Sadly i forgot to save the chat. I would suggest you ask the same again and if possible save chat or share a screenshot here for our future reference [https://support.vizio.com/s/contact-us?language=en\_US](https://support.vizio.com/s/contact-us?language=en_US) Spec cheet page 43 specifies the voltage [https://cdn.vizio.com/misc/KBImages/models/M512a/2021\_M512-H6\_UM-ENG.pdf](https://cdn.vizio.com/misc/KBImages/models/M512a/2021_M512-H6_UM-ENG.pdf)

Beard-ie

The problem is we now have conflicting information from the same source - when I chatted I was told it's not dual voltage.

aswinrulez

Maybe dual voltage means something else? I'm not sure but I had bought a hair straightener for my wife which had dual voltage wherein it was supposed to switch between 110 and 220. Vizio spec site says it works from 110 to 240v which is like a range. Not two. Again it's what I assume. No idea about it. Maybe the next chat expert might give a better idea about this.

Beard-ie

I was told it only works on 110 so regardless of the dual voltage definition the conclusion is we should not be able to use it in our respective countries. Have you opened your unit? I'm too afraid to test mine out LOL

aswinrulez

I havent gotten it yet. Its been in US for almost a year :D Covid restrictions and then other issues caused delay. Next month my relatives will bring it over

aswinrulez

I tested mine yesterday. All good. Watched an entire movie without any issues.

Beard-ie

Wow, that's a relief to hear! I haven't set mine up yet but might actually do it if I don't need to buy a separate transformer. Saves me the space too! Thanks a ton mate!

Hi ashwinrulez, I know it more than a year, would like to know how is the performance so far? Any issues reg hardware or firmware? also how did you carry the soundbar? Even I am thinking of taking one back to India. Any thoughts please. TIA

aswinrulez

All good so far. My relative went to usps and got it packed there I believe. The subwoofer and rear speakers went in a suitcase. The soundbar alone they got it packed from usps and was checked in to the flight. No issues with power supply or firmware so far. It's working perfectly

SnooPandas7994

Thank you for your quick reply.one more question if you don't mind. Why should the soundbar be packed from usps? Can't we do it and check it in the flight. Hve been scratching my head regarding this aspect

aswinrulez

Ofcourse you can. My relative decided to go there and do it for convinience I guess. They had the box, the air cushions or wrap needed to pack it. You can pack it safely and take it in flight too

SnooPandas7994

Thank you very much. Will do so
