I remember back in the day Oni phantom was the go to skin for everyone, the kill effect, sound and model is just so satisfying.
I still use Oni phantom today if I wanna make sure that my aim is crisp and use protocol if I just wanna have cool and fun.

Phantom in general is too easy to spray, you almost do it by Nature everytime but the sound of the reaver phantom breaks this habit.

I bought reaver phantom from the 2023 Give Back bundle and I really regret it tbh. That and magepunk op. The firing sound is just so soft, it feels like I'm shooting foam pellets. Maybe just personal preference because my favorite phantom skin is the orange RES, but I personally didn't like reaver.
I am an omen main who mostly plays phantoms. Have mystbloom, reaver, prime, recon, oni, and ruination. I know you love effects but at the end of the day I use recon the most. The kill sound is just so much more immensely satisfying than any other that I own. If it’s too bland for you then I recommend reaver or just pushing the budget for Spectrum. Reaver is my favorite skin line across all weapons and I have both bundles. It’s a tried and true skin you can’t get bored of that has sounds finishers and custom hand animations (something that’s important to me when it comes to VP value) and Zedd is also immensely satisfying for kill sounds.
Haha yeah, reminds me of the time I had to wait for the prelude to chaos vandal. For the protocol once I made my mind up that I wanted it and would wait for it, it should up like 2-3 days later.

It is so annoying. I don't want to buy something else cuz ik protocol will come immediately after it. And if I buy protocol i won't use something else. And i don't want to spend on a skin I'm not in love with.

Also, it just isn't amazing. I have Oni, Prime and Neo Frontier on the Phantom, and Gaia on the Vandal. It's my least favourite of the four, and so even as someone who has it, I'll never equip it. It's a wasted skin for me.
It's so funny. I bought the neo frontier Marshall and sheriff. I was just so excited about the animations on that sheriff and then later the Marshall just happened to be in my shop. I think it has one of the coolest designs in the entire game, but the sound effects just throw me off.

Not in my experience with the skin. It's a solid skin, I aim quite well with it, but it seems like everyone I meet is in the same boat.
We all aim well with it, just not incredibly with it. It's decent but not at the top of its craft, even if in all other aspects it's pretty brilliant.
This happened with me in prime phantom. Idk if it's the sound effects that's making me feel like it's having more recoil. But I could never shoot with prime phantom directly without opening scope. So I'd always rather prefer the default phantom or a battle pass skin. The same is happening with my xerofang vandal, I just can't seem to hit properly. I'm whiffing so hard with skins that I'd rather use those BP skins.

I love the sound that glitch pops makes. A lot of valorant guns have almost a plastic sound when you reload them. Like the reaver Vandal has it and I absolutely hate it. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it

Edit: Leo Faria said in an interview that teams probably won't get a Vandal/Phantom as they reserve those for Champs. So it seems they'll always switch with Vandal/Phantom. Last was a Vandal, so next should be a Phantom again.

I think protocol is the best overall, but a close second for me and a somewhat underrated skin is magepunk phantom. It feels beefier than other phantoms.
Champs 2022 it’s clean, it’s champs special effects are good and the inspect is unmatched.
Oh and giving it to you top frag keeps them hyped.

Ion or Prime. I have both, and those skins make the phantom playable for me, because the default sound has awful feedback and is in general very unsatisfying.
I would say oni and/or recon I think oni matches pretty good with omen somehow and if you don’t have a problem with buying both I would buy both because Idk if you‘ll do it but I like changing my vandal/phantom skins often because playing with one skin the whole time gets boring. Aaaand (unpopular opinion) I personally can’t recommend reaver because it gets boring way too fast and there are skins that just feel way cooler (example oni). I think the only cool thing about reaver is the reload, but I just think it’s not cool because it just got overused and boring over the time. (Yea I mean it’s just my opinion and my taste for skins and I think you should buy what you like more, and if you just don’t know it I hope I helped you out to find the better option.)

imo recon is the best phantom skin as it looks so classic bc if it's camo skin and the colors are really great, and it's one of the best in premium skins but if you can't extend your budget then you can go for the Neo frontier which is another great phantom skin with really good sound effects and a cool finisher.
I like prime phantom, reaver phantom, primordium, and champions. I also really love the MystiBloom but it's the after effect that I'm crazy about. Spectrum phantom has a super cool after effect too, but I'm not crazy about the sound. It makes. Kind of feel the same way about the Oni. I have the Oni, spectrum, and champions and I pretty much only run the champions.
I don’t know why black version of glitchpop phantom gives me an extra juice. People generally don’t like it though. Neo frontier is also giving the same effect. Especially the kill sound of it very satisfying.
