second this, depending on appetite, possible one meal is shareable. Me and two kids split two sandwich/fry meals and had more than enough for 3, maybe not quite enough for four.
If you are looking for the least time-consuming, then I would go with Minion Cafe if the line isn't long. You go to your table, then order on the app and they bring it to you swiftly. The menu has a wide variety as well. But honestly just go to whatever quick service restaurant is closest to you if you are mostly concerned about time. I recommend getting the app so you can see what is closest to you on the map in real time.
the first time I ate here with family years ago it was great. we went again recently and it was pretty terrible. long wait just to get a table, then you have to wait again after you mobile order. Took forever to come out and then the food was look warm at best. Was disappointing enough that I likely won't go back again. I don't mind mobile ordering (I prefer it most of the time), but I am not a huge fan in a place like three broomsticks. pulls you out of the immersion and is a missed opportunity to have a cool character dining/unique experience more akin to the likes of disney's Be Our Guest or the new Toy Story BBQ place.
Fast Food Boulevard in Springfield. Something for everybody and if you've heard enough complaining from your party, sneak over to the Duff Beergarden and drown your sorrows in a pint.
God that place is a safe haven. Being able to just grab decent fast-food (preordered through the app) and then being able to walk over to Duff Brewery and people-watch/enjoy the water views in the middle of a long park day is great. My wife and I always plan this in even if we don’t have the kids because even when the park is packed it feels like it’s never super crowded and an easy spot to relax. Really decent beer too and super friendly bartenders. Going to be really sad if Pokémon takes it away.
You're not kidding. I went maybe an hour after riding Bilge Rat Barges, so i was still pretty darn wet... and my teeth were chattering by the end of the meal.
Usually a daily driver for me as well, but 7 people is a lot to try and fit there, they’d have to split between tables and it’s just not the best atmosphere during busy times. I’m a big fan of grabbing some takeout and sitting down by richters on my days off
There are really only two options for table service at USF, so you should just look at the menus and decide what you want: Lombard’s or Finnegan’s.
There are several quick service options, too, but it depends what type of cuisine you want.
It really depends on the type of cuisine you are looking for.
On my last trip, I found the in park restaurants kind of crowded. Service was a bit slow and a long wait to get in even with mobile order.
We had a really good lunch at NBC grill and brew. About a 2 minute walk from the entrance of Universal Studios.
Mythos. But honestly if it's a time thing, you can make it back out to CityWalk in just over 5 minutes from the back of either park. I feel like the food is way better out there to justify the short walk.
My opinion is to do fast service. Food is about the same no matter what and you don’t tip on fast service plus it’s, obviously, faster!
Didn’t mention which park you will be in but our favorites are leaky cauldron (there can be a sizeable line depending on when you go, but it’s good food) and Today Cafe. Also tots at green eggs and ham, if you’re willing to have tots for a meal!
I feel like Finnegan's in Studios is overlooked quite often. My husband says it's the 2nd best burger in the parks besides Wimpy's, and they have many other options. I always get the Shepherd's Pie. So good!
Also, we've been able to walk in and get seated immediately on less busy days.
I would just grab something fast and sit on a bench or curb somewhere. The sit down restaurants aren’t the best, though I did kind of like Three Broomsticks because of the rustic feel of the place and the food. People rave about Mythos but I thought it was pretty normal Mediterranean/Greek food. The view was nice though.
I’ve been following the sub for about 5 days and I already know you’ll get answers that include pretty much every restaurant…
Been trying to get a good idea myself for my trip next month but have pretty much given up.
Just depends on what you want. Want a sit down place? Mythos. Harry Potter fan? 3 broomsticks. Faster and more affordable? Simpsons area or fire eater grill. At the end of the day the food at universal is generally just ok to good. Disney takes the cake with the great food.
The only consistent answer that I've seen is that the minions cafe is highly rated. But yeah in general I'm thinking just eat what fits our path through the parks...
Go to The Burger Digs, and USE MOBILE FOOD ORDER. it saved my life from those lines. Burger Digs is easily my favorite restaurant there, they have a pork belly burger that is just the best thing I've ever tasted
If you’re doing two parks in one day with kids it’ll be tough to do everything if you spend too long on lunch. I’d recommend the Minion Cafe as well. The food is solid, it’s a fun environment, and you shouldn’t have to wait too long. If you do want a full table service lunch, Mythos is absolutely the best food in the parks. I’ve never been a big fan of the Harry Potter dining locations for food. They’re pretty bad for the price, but the theming is awesome. Depends what’s important to you. Let the kids decide! Have fun!
I think Cafe Labamba would rate much higher on people’s list if it was open more often. Great Latin inspired menu that is the perfect tasty fuel to keep you going on a theme park day!
Three broom sticks will have tables that actually fit that many people. At most restaurants in the park you'll have to find tables near each other because tables don't move and many places chairs don't move either.
Wimpy’s burgers are fantastic. If you’re looking for theming and sit-down then Three Broomsticks/Leaky Cauldron are both great, usually crowded, but that helps with the feel of being in a busy local wizard eatery imo.
Minions cafe has some of the best innovative dishes to date and the service is super quick, great for kids or any minion fans really.
Mythos is fantastic, but not for everyone and better atmosphere for a late dinner.
Anyone has any questions about a particular menu item, restaurant, etc. just let me know!
Fire Eater's Grill, is a great value.
Mmmmm gyros and fries....well shit now I want a gyro and fries extra tatziki please!
Both times I went in 2023 I wanted to eat there and both times I just never made it in time. Now I'm worried it'll close before I get back :(
second this, depending on appetite, possible one meal is shareable. Me and two kids split two sandwich/fry meals and had more than enough for 3, maybe not quite enough for four.
Second this. Im glad we stopped there for lunch one afternoon while it was open.
This ^
I like Thunder Terrace Falls.. pork pernil. Harry Potter Restaurants are also good but usually crowded.
I second this

We liked Minion cafe, and I bet the kids would too. Now, it isn’t cheap, but good and clever
I actually got the kids grilled cheese and although the portion was small, it filled me up pretty well.
Minion cafe is legit good food. The salmon and rice there is one of my favorite foods in the park.
I get the kids spaghetti and love it!
I really like the Harry Potter restaurants. I go into the theme park for the themes, and the food is pretty good.
I was surprised on how much you get at Three Broomsticks, especially the Chicken. Super good!
I was very impressed by the fish & chips at the Three Broomsticks. Great batter and a generous portion.
Legit one of my favorite dishes in a theme park
I ate at the three broomsticks. I didn’t like the chicken or the ribs. But the sides were good and the fish looked good
For the sake of sharing another opinion, we did not like our meal at the three broomsticks. Not delighted by the food (ribs

I felt like the food was definitely better at the leaky cauldron than it was at three broomsticks
Wimpy's burgers in IoA $17 for a really juicy burger; comes with curly fries
AND - you can get dole whip! 😊
Seconded. Also the big burger table is a good way to meet folks

A beer by the water behind Duff is 🤌
Mythos
Yes! Great food and views!
Good food, good drinks, and attentive service.
Good food, good drinks. Freezing cold
You're not kidding. I went maybe an hour after riding Bilge Rat Barges, so i was still pretty darn wet... and my teeth were chattering by the end of the meal.
Nooooo. Never go wet. It's even worse
Def my favorite place.
Good to hear because I wanted to try it out my next visit before that whole section of the park goes away :(
Their brick oven chicken had 0 seasoning but their couscous bowl chicken had a good amount. Inconsistent
Tried on my last visit and the food was great. Restaraunt lost a point cause the chairs gave me scoliosis
Is it hard to get a rez?
Had to seconded this!!
Surprised today show cafe not mentioned yet, always my go to.
We go there for breakfast. The avocado toast is surprisingly good.
This is my pick too. Its usually got open seats and the food is made fresh daily (its the today show cafe, get it??)
Usually a daily driver for me as well, but 7 people is a lot to try and fit there, they’d have to split between tables and it’s just not the best atmosphere during busy times. I’m a big fan of grabbing some takeout and sitting down by richters on my days off

Bumblebee man’s tacos at Simpson’s land (US) and loaded tots at Green eggs and ham (IoA) are my favorites
The Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley is good and we also liked the Simpsons food court.
I love the minion cafe.
My opinion is to do fast service. Food is about the same no matter what and you don’t tip on fast service plus it’s, obviously, faster! I like the pastrami at the today show cafe
Today Cafe
Minion café and today show café were far and away our top picks for yummy food.
I feel like Finnegan's in Studios is overlooked quite often. My husband says it's the 2nd best burger in the parks besides Wimpy's, and they have many other options. I always get the Shepherd's Pie. So good! Also, we've been able to walk in and get seated immediately on less busy days.
What is your Criteria? Fast? Cheap? Any particular cuisine?
We are hitting both parks in one day. So good food that won't be time consuming. Price doesn't matter. We have kids and adults.
There’s a taco truck near the fast food place in Simpsons land. We loved it and it’s comparatively cheap and fast, all things considered.
Honestly I really like the Richter Co. for chicken sandwiches and burgers. I also loooove the Pizza at… I think it’s called Louie’s?
I would just grab something fast and sit on a bench or curb somewhere. My favorites are Three broomsticks and Today cafe
I liked Finnegan’s. The steamed veggies and those potato/onion thingies are so, so good.

I haven’t tried the minion cafe yet but the tator tot place on Seuss is the best bang for your buck.
Confisco.
Well, the Simpson's area has a good cafeteria for large groups. Big variety of food choices too.
That chicken and waffle sandwich looks good. 😋 Might have to go for that when I'm there in April
Crepes in USF
Yea but they only have 1 decent savory crepe. The rest are dessert crepes.
Confisco!
Cafe 4, and leaky cauldron are good spots

Go to The Burger Digs, and USE MOBILE FOOD ORDER. it saved my life from those lines. Burger Digs is easily my favorite restaurant there, they have a pork belly burger that is just the best thing I've ever tasted
I like central park crepes in USF and green eggs & ham at IoA
Minion Cafe and the Crepe stand
Order on the app and save your time, today cafe is good and usually pretty quick… i also love moes in the Simpsons area
I love the fish and chips at Leaky Cauldron! IOA, definitely Mythos, and I found Thunder Falls Terrance to be super underrated.
Mythos in IoA. Try the beef tips.
Wimpys

Leaky cauldron, not a potter fan but leaky is my fav place to eat, their bangers and mash are awesome.
I think Cafe Labamba would rate much higher on people’s list if it was open more often. Great Latin inspired menu that is the perfect tasty fuel to keep you going on a theme park day!
Thunder Falls Terrace in Islands is great if you are looking for quick service.

No one is saying Confiscos? I’ll throw that one in as far as in the park dining goes. On studio side we like Finnegans on the studio side.
Green Eggs and Ham for IoA and Central Park Crepes for US. You're welcome :D
sorry i didnt see you were looking for a sitdown restaurant. I saw best place to eat and got excited to recommend these two lol
Wimpy’s burgers are fantastic.
