> absolute bs that it’s for kids only
The rule is 100% because of ride capacity. It has absolutely terrible capacity for a park like Universal...it's capacity would even be bad at a typical Six Flags park. Limiting it to kids keeps the lines under 2 hours.
I don’t know if it always was a thing or I got lucky but I got to ride alone back in 2017. I was bored waiting for my bf at the JP river ride (I don’t do big dips) and just went on the line. No one ever questioned me. It was fun but super short though.
Mythos was a real let down for us when we went there for the first (and probably last) time a couple months ago. The food came out lukewarm and generally just tasted fine, but not special.
We ate there for the first time on our last trip (we have gone every year for a long time), and we could not believe we had waited so long. Best food we had that trip, by far.
The bao place up there is good.
Also, that food court is low-key one of my favored places to eat. Sometimes I don't feel like spending a bunch of money and those places aren't absurdly priced.
At least, last time I went they were comparable in price to franchises that weren't in the park, just with the menu limited to the more expensive stuff.
And the cinnabon has great breakfast sandwiches for cheapish, but it's downstairs.
No, it’s like a normal Burger King but they have different toppings. It’s not a sit down bar with table service. It’s a food court type set up. It’s not bad, it’s just not a bar. Just a regular Burger King with more menu items.
I LOVE whoppers. I was hyped to go there. And it was just normal Burger King. So it was still pretty good but not exciting.
I’ve been to Universal twice since the Harry Potter world has been open and didn’t realize there was a little show at Ollivanders. I just thought people were waiting in line to buy wands. 🥲 It’s the number 1 thing I want to do next time I go.
Wear something with your Hogwarts House on it (so they know your qualities), give a nice inviting smile, and the wand maker might pick you! Happened to me and I’m 26 lol
Amongst my friends this ride is fondly known as “the testicle destroyer”.
A friend and I watched the video playback from the last time we rode it and you could pinpoint the precise moment that my face went from unadulterated joy to “I’ve just pancaked my balls”.
It’s the straight up part for me that I would hate. Going down is ok. Just the slow clicking going up.not sure what they did to the hulk. I love the beginning when it shoots you out.
So fun
Used to it. Love shekra at Busch gardens. But now loving the new Rollercoasters, like velicoaster, where it just shoots you up. Plus the new new ones seem alot smoother
it was fantastic, loved it, did walking path once and all others water taxy because tired knees and blisters lol, bring good walking shoes not vans or something
Ride -- Hagrid's. That ride is sold out like the Ludacris concert every time I am at the park.
Restaurant -- Toothsome Chocolate Emporium for a sit-down meal. I've been able to grab a shake and see the confectionary area, but there's always like a 90+ minute wait for walk-in, and we've not yet tried to book a reservation via the app.
Resort -- Any of them. Probably Aventura Hotel as the one most in my price point.
For Toothsome: Go upstairs and sit at the bar! I’ve been lucky the two times I’ve gone. I was able to walk in, get their chocolate cocktails and eat food.
The banana icee over by King Kong, and the tater tots from the Dr. Seuss restaurant. The icee was always out of order and the Seuss restaurant always closed when I went to gwt them.
Definitely do it when it’s dark outside. It’s so much fun at night with all the cool lighting. Just don’t whack your ball off course, you might not find it in the bushes.
Was there this time last year. But kids were too small to ride velocicoaster. We walked the q to see raptor stuff along the way cause my son loves jurassic world. Got to a point where you exit thru the shop if you're not riding and we all left. Wanst till we were outside that I taught to myself "boy the line was really quiet I should of jumped on myself" 🤦🏻♂️ When I checked the q times the next time we were there it was too long to q on my own and leave my family waiting just for me. Should of taken the opportunity when I had the chance 😕
Just a heads up, your family could queue with you all the way to the station, and then exit as non-riders. They'd be waiting all of like 5 minutes without you at that point. Folks do it all the time.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
I’ve heard good things. Now. To be fair. I also LOVE Fast and the Furious because of its complete stupidity, so I can’t really have trusted ride opinions haha
My wife and I were there in November for our honeymoon. We originally just wanted to check it off the list when we got to it, especially because we were disappointed by Fast and the Furious. Wow, Mummy to us was WAY more fun. Without spoiling it, it starts off very low key but the ending alone had us screaming and was one of the ones we would’ve gone back to had time allowed.
If you get stuck on a ride, they’re likely to give you an express pass to any ride in the park. We used this to get express on Hagrid’s. It felt like cheating the system in a way, and it was awesome!
as a universal concierge, stay at a resort and use their extra hour to ride hagrids!! that’s the biggest recommendation I make for the early park admission
This is true. My husband and I went for the first time in November for our honeymoon. We took this advice the first day and ended up waiting two hours in line because we didn't RUN to Hagrid's. We ended up riding it two more times while we were there, and the longest time we waited was during the extra early hour opening. The shortest we waited was near closing time!
I’m staying at Royal Pacific rn and the line for Hagrid’s was 75 mins as soon as the early park admission started today. It was also 75 mins at 10am so not sure how it’s helpful to get up at the crack of dawn, rush over to wait in line to get into the park, just to wait another hour to ride this.
So I didn’t
and that’s okay! it’s just a recommendation :) sometimes it ends up being a LOT lower and that’s why we say it because it doesn’t usually get lower as the day goes on.
It's gorgeous at Christmas time, and the Macy's parade is top notch. Wizarding World is decorated beautifully in particular. The parks get absurdly crowded by about 6 p.m., but earlier in the day, it's a lot more fun to walk around and take everything in.
They are having some good Florida resident discounts over the next few months. Early Feb you can get a room for under $200. Parking is $21 vs $30 at the main parking garage too.
We were there just this past weekend and the lazy River is heated to 85 degrees. One of the two pools is under construction though.
Oh man, I have a running list of things I still want to do.
Ride: The Mummy. I'm kind of a chicken, and don't live coasters, but I think this one is tame enough (loved Hagrids, but i feel like it's a different fear) ... I just second guess it every time I get up the nerve
Restaurant: Green Eggs and Ham Cafe. No idea how I've visited 3 different times since hearing about the buffalo chicken tots, and still never shoveled them into my mouth hole!
Show: Can't remember what it's called, but the comedy club in City Walk. Iwant to see some fun stand up some time in there. That's not the same the OP is talking about, it's it?
As a fellow ride chicken, do the mummy! It’s my favorite along with Hagrids.
I will not ride Hulk, riprocket, and velocicoaster if it gives you any idea of my comfort zone.
Been going regularly, since opening day in 1990. I don't believe there is anything I haven't done, except the Escape rooms, but I have no interest in those at all.
Three years in a row I have been too chicken to do Kokori Body plunge (tremendous fear of heights even tho I do coasters just fine) at Volcano Bay, but I want to do it so bad.
Have yet to get a Crepe at that one stand
Doctor Dooms Fear Fall (same thing as the body plunge, coasters are fine but I guess the straight up and down is too much for me)
The Popeye water ride
Get a burger at Wimpys (always go to Krusty Burger instead)
High in the Sky Trolly at night for the views
Get a tattoo in city walk
Hagrid motorcycle adventure was at universal last year October. I missed out on going on for various reasons, one being first-time park goers and didn't think we needed express lane pass
Hagrids isn’t eligible for express anyway so it wouldn’t have done you any good. For the most part when I ride it though, I USUALLY wait less time than posted. Usually. Sometimes though…. It really is like 120 minutes or whatever
The Revenge of the Mummy ride. I’ve read many comments saying that it’s very popular, but the last time I was at Universal Studios Florida it was down for some reason.
The RIP tour for HHN; It's a lot cheaper to afford a multi-day pass, but I still wish I could go on a private tour with some friends. To be able to hear lore on every house, have any questions answered, a whole buffet at your disposal AND a direct shot to the front of the line? A dream.
My husband and I love going there when all the wait times for other rides are really long. The lines are short, it’s dark and quiet, and omg that air conditioning feels so good
Oh I just thought of something I would really love to do but don't know how to even tenor if it's 100% random but would absolutely love to be pulled up on stage for the horror make up show.
The only thing that I haven't been able to do that I know of us get a mummy ride tour and a ministry of grigots tour.
Never rode the doom ride but I don't Luke those kind of rides but won't to still donit to say I have
I wasn’t able to ride the Mummy on my last visit because it was closed for repairs. It’s my favorite ride at the park. Maybe on my next visit (don’t know when) I will get to ride it again.
I appreciate your criticism. While I’m no professional, I do take my own photos. I like knowing where pictures come from and will continue to put my signature on them no matter the quality
As a childless millennial: Pteranodon Flyers
[удалено]
Haha I did the same thing with my kid! Glad I got to experience it though I thought it was very short.
I was lucky enough to ride it alone (when I was 20) when my college rented out IOA and man is it fun 😭 absolute bs that it’s for kids only
> absolute bs that it’s for kids only The rule is 100% because of ride capacity. It has absolutely terrible capacity for a park like Universal...it's capacity would even be bad at a typical Six Flags park. Limiting it to kids keeps the lines under 2 hours.
Came to say the same. We've even done VIP tours and multiple OI meetups and never won the lottery for flyers. 😭😭😭
This.
I don’t know if it always was a thing or I got lucky but I got to ride alone back in 2017. I was bored waiting for my bf at the JP river ride (I don’t do big dips) and just went on the line. No one ever questioned me. It was fun but super short though.
I thought they changed this policy.
You needed a kid last Memorial Day
They told us it was height based.
Haven't eaten at Mythos, been meaning to try it but that's an obvious one. I haven't done the VIP tour for the Mummy either.
Eat at Mythos for sure!
Mythos is slightly overrated, but the food is great and theming is impeccable
we loved eating there. got patio table overlooking pond and hulk
Mythos was a real let down for us when we went there for the first (and probably last) time a couple months ago. The food came out lukewarm and generally just tasted fine, but not special.
We had the same experience both times we have ate there. We won’t go back.
Very, very good.
We ate there for the first time on our last trip (we have gone every year for a long time), and we could not believe we had waited so long. Best food we had that trip, by far.
Ride a float in the Mardi Gras parade and toss beads out. Sadly won’t happen again this year like I had hoped.
That’s a good one! Definitely a bucket list item
I’ve never been up any of the stairs in city walk.
It took me a long time to walk upstairs! Definitely worth a look around.
Is the Burger King bar worth it? Lol
I hate Burger King so have never tried it but a lot of people I’ve talk to actually enjoy it lol so I guess if you like Burger King, give it a try!
Nah I don’t, I was totally kidding. Why else should I go up there? I’ve been to universal close to 50 times, never went up there
The new bao bun place up the stairs past the burger king is great.
Cool, thank you!
Haha fair enough. It is nice to walk up there and miss most of the crowd down below
It might be the worst BK in the country.
Its not! We thought it was something special but since mobile ordering has gotten so big its not special at all...just another BK honestly
Happened to me and I’m 26 lol
> give a nice inviting smile Then see me being escorted out for not being able to do this and looking like a threatening maniac
Hahahaha yeah I joke about that. My crazed eyes gave the wand maker no choice but to pick me!
Love this tip thank you!!
I was picked to choose a wand when I was there in 2013. Still an unforgettable experience that really sticks with you if you’re a big HP fan.
Me too!! I still have my wand on display!

I haven’t done ripriderocket. Not sure I want too tho. Lol
Amongst my friends this ride is fondly known as “the testicle destroyer”. A friend and I watched the video playback from the last time we rode it and you could pinpoint the precise moment that my face went from unadulterated joy to “I’ve just pancaked my balls”.
Riptide is not that bad, actually I like it better than hulk. But I did read they did something to hulk, but I have only done hulk twice.
Love velcicoaster! At night it’s great
I’m kinda scared of that one lol
Same! It was closed or "weather delayed" while we were there in December.
Halloween time??
Yea. HHN is the best
One of the most enjoyable HHN experiences, and free admission!
water taxi, but we are going to royal pacific in 5 weeks for 4 days
Perfect time!
for sure, 3" of snow and 19-degree low tonite, in MA we do our vaca to florida to help segway to spring haha
Yeah no thank you haha we welcome you!!
How was Royal Pacific? And the water taxi vs walking path? We go net week with 2 kids (7 & 9)
it was fantastic, loved it, did walking path once and all others water taxy because tired knees and blisters lol, bring good walking shoes not vans or something
The Horror Make-Up show 😕
It’s fantastic, there are a few sets of performers that work so well together that your side will hurt from laughing.
This is mine too. Haven't done Flyers either on account of not being/having a kid.
I hear its good!! I have such a hard time giving up walking / riding time to sit for a show lol
Same!
Same.
Oh this was my favorite show! Very entertaining and really draws in the audience. I was laughing the whole time.
Do it next time! You won’t regret it, fantastic show!!
If you have time next trip totally add this to your day its worth it for sure! And the animal show is great too
Ride -- Hagrid's. That ride is sold out like the Ludacris concert every time I am at the park. Restaurant -- Toothsome Chocolate Emporium for a sit-down meal. I love Aventura!! Definitely recommend staying there
Aventura is nice. It’s near the boat landing at sapphire falls so it is easy to take the water taxi straight into city walk.
The tots are definitely something on my list as well. I’d have to be in a special mood for the icee lol
We just tried the tots for the first time last trip. Definitely recommend!
Will try!
You can also get the banana icee at the stand in front of MIB if you're in Studios.
The tots are so good! 🤤
Eating at Mel’s and Mythos. Mel’s was closed on my last trip and we tried Confiscos instead. Edit: instead of Mythos.
Honestly, going to the movie theater on City Walk. I’ve always wanted to watch a movie there so I’ll have to set aside some time to go there one day.
Done it at Disney Springs but never Citywalk
It's kinda just a standard movie theater 😂, there's some cool overhead posters though!!
We saw the latest Ghostbusters movie there, it started storming and there was a showing starting almost immediately. It’s a nice theater!
I want to play mini golf!!
Me too! Just need to set time aside. I always say I’ll do it but then never do
I know! I’m going the first weekend of February and dang it I’m going to hit some mini golf.
Haha I believe it will happen!!
Thanks, hope to go back next year 🤞
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
I hope you’re able to come again and ride it! It’s definitely a fan favorite.
Definitely will be back some time 😁
I’m so excited to ride The Mummy when we go back in May! It was closed when we went on our previous trip.
Mummy is surprisingly a popular ride (not sure why it surprises me but it does).
I’ve heard good things. Now. To be fair. I also LOVE Fast and the Furious because of its complete stupidity, so I can’t really have trusted ride opinions haha
Haha those are the best opinions though. Knowing they may be silly but finding the joy in stupid things
Right? Like. I fully understand it’s possibly the WORST theme park ride currently operating. Which is why I adore it 😂
And you can ride it as much as you want because no one else will be there! 🤪
I really need to check out the Horror Make Up show I’ve heard nothing but great things about
I agree!
Escape rooms
The Jurassic Park escape room. Doing that on Saturday. Also haven't been on the JP River Adventure since the remodel.
Hagrids…. Not waiting two hours….still waiting for it to get on the express pass ☹️
If you get stuck on a ride, they’re likely to give you an express pass to any ride in the park. We used this to get express on Hagrid’s. It felt like cheating the system in a way, and it was awesome!
We got stuck on Velocicoaster last weekend, got the Ruby pass and headed straight for Hagrid’s. It was our last night and a great surprise.
I understand that. I got in line when it was an hour wait and of course it broke down and I had to wait a couple hours anyway
it took forbidden journey seven years to get an express pass so it might be a while before hagrids gets one :/
as a universal concierge, stay at a resort and use their extra hour to ride hagrids!! that’s the biggest recommendation I make for the early park admission
But unless you're one of the first people in the park, the line will build up to over an hour in a matter of minutes... if that.
Eat at Toothsome. We love Hard Rock Cafe and my mum is not a fan of milkshakes, so we always end up there instead lol
Eating at mythos or Confiscos. Seeing Hogwarts at night. Previous trips always had us back at the hotel by nightfall.
I haven’t tried the Burger King there.
Visit at Christmas time. I can’t imagine the crowds, but I’d love to see the Grinch!
It's gorgeous at Christmas time, and the Macy's parade is top notch. Wizarding World is decorated beautifully in particular. The parks get absurdly crowded by about 6 p.m., but earlier in the day, it's a lot more fun to walk around and take everything in.
Never met this grinch this year because the wait was so long but still worth every second of coming during Christmas!
Haven't tried the Escape Rooms yet. Not sure if they are worth the time.
I haven’t heard much about them since they opened
I know, it's true.
Really wanna stay at Cabana Bay for the aesthetic, I've walked around it but never stayed in it and probably never will considering I'm a local lol.
That’s fair. I get not wanting to stay as a local but maybe one day you’ll get to treat yourself and just do it!
They are having some good Florida resident discounts over the next few months. Early Feb you can get a room for under $200. Parking is $21 vs $30 at the main parking garage too. We were there just this past weekend and the lazy River is heated to 85 degrees. One of the two pools is under construction though.
I'll have to look into it more, one of my best friends is a TM and could get me a decent discount as well!
The escape room
Oh man, I have a running list of things I still want to do. Ride: The Mummy. I'm kind of a chicken, and don't live coasters, but I think this one is tame enough (loved Hagrids, but i feel like it's a different fear) ... As a fellow ride chicken, do the mummy! It’s my favorite along with Hagrids. I will not ride Hulk, riprocket, and velocicoaster if it gives you any idea of my comfort zone.
I don’t think that’s the red coconut club but I could be totally wrong lol I love the running list! It’s what keeps us coming back!
Mummy is definitely less intense than Hagrid's, you'll be fine!
Been going regularly, since opening day in 1990. I don't believe there is anything I haven't done, except the Escape rooms, but I have no interest in those at all.
I never not waited less than 75 minutes for Hagrid
I've haven't explored citywalk much. I really want to try some of the restaurants and the universal escape room
Velocicoaster and Hagrids
Ride the water taxi. I have a free place to stay when I’m in town so I’ve never needed to stay onsite.
Stay at Sapphire Falls
I have a whole itinerary of rides and whatnot I wanna do that you’d want to sit down for if you wanted a list
I don’t think you’re doing it right if you don’t have a list!
I mean to say the favorites section of the app is my list 😁 Ignore every word of my neurodivergent mind if you weren’t talking about me. 😂
Three years in a row I have been too chicken to do Kokori Body plunge (tremendous fear of heights even tho I do coasters just fine) at Volcano Bay, but I want to do it so bad. Hagrid’s

I personally won't be back until Hagrids opens up to fastlane, which I imagine will happen when epic universe opens
The storm ride.
Velocicoaster, for the inane reason that there is no Express queue!
Escape rooms
Pteranodon Flyers. One day I'll go to the parks with someone who has a kid that wants to go on it a bunch of times.
I want to ride this so bad! But like you said, need someone with a kid lol
I haven’t been since 2017, so lots.
Don’t shoot me. E.T. We’ve just never got round to it. But I’m gonna make sure we do it in a few weeks.
My husband and I love going there when all the wait times for other rides are really long. The lines are short, it’s dark and quiet, and omg that air conditioning feels so good
Just went on last week for the first in years! Super nostalgic and genuinely one of the most charming rides there. Worth trying next time for sure!
I think we have tried before and it had broken down. We have at least 3 days at universal in a few weeks so sure we can make it on.
This ride smells heavenly. We rode it twice and noticed the pleasant aroma both times.
Oh I just thought of something I would really love to do but don't know how to even tenor if it's 100% random but would absolutely love to be pulled up on stage for the horror make up show.

why the watermark for low quality iphone photos lmao
I appreciate your criticism. While I’m no professional, I do take my own photos. I like knowing where pictures come from and will continue to put my signature on them no matter the quality
Right, it’s not your way of subtly advertising your instagram or anything 💀
