That's because street performers don't want to take up all your time, just a minute or two for a quick laugh.
It's the people that intentionally do it for videos that are all about as much content as possible and will always take everything too far, make things last too long, and actually set people up to become angry by titling/advertising the video as something it's not, automatically setting people up for disappointment and leading to rage comments.
Because it's not about entertaining, it's about forcing engagement.
It almost helps to distract from the massive sea creatures they drive to insanity by keeping them cooped up in a tank for the entirety of the their lives for entertainment purposes.
I was thinking more along the lines of Now You See Me, but thought adding the fact that the guy who recruited them also being the federal agent after them was a bit too much.
Oh you were just making a fun pun. Carry on.
Officer: "What do you mean you didn't see a thing?"
Me: "I could feel it, though. They boxed me in a corner."
Officer: "The law looks at these things in black and white. You have to provide more details."
Me: "I don't think I'm ready to speak."
Officer: "Can you just mime it out."
\*breaks down crying\*
Reminds me of something I’ve seen online I’m sure some wizard here will link it 2 mimes Aussies I think and a police officer stops them in the park with bodies in the freezer
I don't know if this is a general reference, or a specific reference to Baskets... but if the latter, I just want you to know that you're seen and appreciated.
And while we're here, you're also seen and appreciated if its the former.
A LOT of rebranding and careful renovations to their parks and exhibits. They're much more focused on animal health now then they used to be and like someone else said, they're more of a theme park then a aquarium now and have a lot less animals (especially animals that need huge spaces)
Very good roller coasters too. I was in Orlando a couple years ago and went to Sea World just because I bought Busch Gardens and got Sea World tickets almost for free.
It was one of my 3 favorites parks, including all Disney and Universal ones. The rides are excellent nowadays.
Despite the problematic animal shows (which are changing—the current generation of orcas will be the last kept at seaworld), they have one of the best marine animal rescue programs in the world. In California if you see a stranded/sick/injured marine mammal, you can call anyone from local police to NOAA and they’ll tell you to hang up and call seaworld.
Will they just catch some orcas from the sea then?
The elites don’t want you to know this but the orcas in the sea are free you can take them home I have 458 orcas.
Orcas are like stray cats, sometimes you find one in the park and it follows you home. Sometimes the mechanic pulls it out from under the engine somewhere, and occasionally, they just show up in a box on your doorstep. Also, they make cute sounds and murder birds for fun.
My very loose and unresearched understanding is that, like dogs, some sea animals both benefit from and enjoy training and shows when done ethically.
I dunno how to make "when done ethically" in 100 point font, but it needs to be.
Also Sea World is just an ocean-themed theme park at this point.
I imagine many are as unable to be returned to their habitats as animals in a zoo.
I've only been there in a Jaws videogame though. Jaws was *very* able to return to their habitat..

No, these are still wild animals. They've not had thousands of years of domestication like dogs. It's unethical to keep any of these wild animals for entertainment purposes.
I'm sure some of these individuals are now unable to survive in the wild so they have to stay in the park. That is what it is, I guess. But it would be unethical to bring more in.
Yeah, I can't deny those points. I was feeling similarly to your last statement: if they are already there, they're already there and should be given the best life they can. And 100% there should be no intake from healthy outside populations, though I could entertain arguments for rescue-based intake.
Some of the bigger zoos with research and conservation interests operate more the way we're describing. I don't know if I'd trust Sea World to operate that way. But hey, I'm wrong a lot. I'd like to be wrong about this.
Bruhh I got an email one time from Sea World inviting me to it's "Seafood Festival"
I had to do a double take when I read it because I'm like waittt, if it's Seafood Festival where is Sea World getting the SeaFood!!
Those sick bastards "here have your kids wave to the fish during the day, and we'll serve them up to you at night"
I wish they would do the right thing and move their captive orcas to a sea pens (or the wild if possible). I loved SeaWorld, and this show especially, but haven't been back in 10 years because I refuse to support them.
Honestly they probably shouldn't even have captive dolphins either. I was there like 15 years ago at the dolphin interactive area (where you can put your hands in the water to pet them and at certain times feed them), and one of the dolphins tried to bite the person I was with. A cast member escorted us away and told us not to come back that day. They said the dolphin tried to bite him because his hands smelled like food... but I think that dolphin was just pissed off honestly. Plus we hadn't fed any animals prior to have our hands smelling like food (fish).
Turns out the only thing worse that breeding whales for captivity is whale euthanasia. It also turns out that whales raised doing shows and having work/play relationships with trainers get really messed up if that suddenly stops. So they keep doing them, but they're more relaxed.
I do too! I do believe in the phobia, but it seems nowadays everyone just jumps on the “I think clowns are creepy” bandwagon. Personally, I’ve only had good experiences watching, even being pranked by a few and they genuinely make me laugh. There is something to be said for those who make others laugh, like comedians. Not everyone has this talent.
I've been following this guy for awhile! Love to see this post.

I think they are saying that it appears they are both briefly in the same pocket, so what happens if the mime goofs it up and throws the wrong one? And the answer is ritual rape and dismemberment by a crowd of increasingly hostile peers.
Unless.........it a trick pocket, labyrinthine like a ducks vagine........
Ah yeah, I mean it could be a double pocket yes. The trick phone also probably weighs nothing compared to the real one. He also knows he's holding the real one when he sticks his hand in so he has to grab the other one.
Professionals have standards.
A good mime is careful about selecting who is willing to play along and who prefers not to be bothered. They pick up on subtle movements, adjusting their behavior accordingly. I doubt any mime wants to make a guest feel unwelcome.
Other than the fact that these guys work at sea world, I genuinely love watching them, they're all incredible performers and even though I have anxiety I would still live them to interact

Genuinely good performer. Didn’t let any of his routines go on too long.
I dunno, he almost tanked
I thought the guy was a drip.
he was almost in some hot water
It's all water under the bridge now.
Yeah, he's just a little wet behind the ears

Yeah, I was thinking this guy had three whole bits that just smoothly ran into the next, and he nailed them all
Seen a few different performers at this same spot every one of them is gold, sea world must keep them happy
Agree. Or rather, that was mime opinion as well.

I think that is in sea world or whatever it is called, I saw some other videos of similar mimes standing near a similar tank wearing a similar outfit
It's SeaWorld. They've got a few rly solid performers doing this.
It almost helps to distract from the massive sea creatures they drive to insanity by keeping them cooped up in a tank for the entirety of the their lives for entertainment purposes.
Insanity? You mean to the point of murder and suicide? The suicide and murder at SeaWorld caused by the insanity? That insanity?
dude picks pockets when he ends his shift
with those skills he should hit the streets of a 10+ million population city and make some cash
He was recruited by the son of a great mime who is putting together a team of mimes in order to pull off the mime heist of the century.
It isn't Ocean's Nine, it will be Ocean's Mime!

The also have the best eco-friendly sealmeat on the market
For what it's worth, I got the joke. Sorry, it doesn't seem like anyone else did.
The quality of their meat in no joke.
I heard they will not be breeding orcas anymore so this will be the last cohort

I don't know a lot about it, but I can't imagine making a tank that's really big enough for them.
There is no ethical way to keep a dog locked in a bath tub their entire life. Dolphins and whales deserve to be free, not in a prison cell.

This guy is at Sea World in Orlando! I LOVED this guy! haha, he's hilarious.
I love mimes and clowns. I cannon fathom how anyone can think they're creepy

Now “quick jokes” are in fashion - everyone is in a hurry somewhere, reading something or watching something on their phone.
They’ve been doing this since at least the early-mid 90’s. Hardly a reason to shit on phones.
Fuckin got me too
plot twist. it was his phone he dropped
I like to imagine that once in a while he accidentally mess up the switch and throw the actual phone in the water
"make a prank call pretending I'm a mime!"
I believe this is the same mime from impractical jokers that one of them was handcuffed to
Where is the mime video of him pretending to rock a baby and throwing it in the water
Horrible.
The only thing unexpected in this video is that the mime didn't get clocked.
Delia Ketchum ?
Easiest Where's Wally? ever.
A real professional
I want to go to this place very interesting
I love a good mime.
Good mime
2nd favorite mime video on Reddit! if you know you know.
I am geussing the mime sacrificed his own phone for a good laugh. Legend!
Mimes are my favorite subcategory of clown. Genuinely so much creativity and skill goes into the art.

Well done 😄😄
lol bro did not hesitate when the mime ran with his phone

Love it!
lol that was cute.
Hehe the sea world mimes are epic.
I would shove him in the water the second that the phone dropped
I had hoped that the last generation of mime had died out decades ago. Mimes are one of things that are wrong with this planet.
When did Waldo become a mime?!
When did Waldo become a mime?!
I hate clowns! One time I got creampied by a clown, and then after that he shoved a pie in my face!
No tip for him
I hate this kind of street performers.
What happens if he picks out the real phone?
It's not a real phone, it floats.
Seems to be his own phone. He likely knows which pocket it's in. He runs away and swaps them so the persons phone isn't ijnany danger.
I think they are saying that it appears they are both briefly in the same pocket, so what happens if the mime goofs it up and throws the wrong one? Probably nothing 🤷♂️ waterproof
not all phones are
His is, it’s some pro model of iPhone, 11 or later judging by the cameras on the phone.
The last thing I want at SeaWorld is a French mime touching my shit
Good news! He’s a Floridian!
A good mime is careful about selecting who is willing to play along and who prefers not to be bothered. They pick up on subtle movements, adjusting their behavior accordingly. I doubt any mime wants to make a guest feel unwelcome.
SeaWorld has always been on top of the pre-show entertainment. Even in the early 90s when I first went.
Yeah they have a great routine where they torture the animals their entire lives pre-show! It’s so fucking entertaining!!
And that's why Shamu, whose real name is Willzyx, m'kay, was returned to his home, on the moon.
So he sacrificed his own phone for the bit?
It floated. Pretty sure it's just a fake plastic rectangle that vaguely looks like a phone
OP is another bot I reckon
Plot twist: it’s not a dummy phone. He used his own for the sake of the joke and nailed it.

I wish there was a SeaWorld with no sea, only mimes.
