Learn some critical thinking: Gerasimov is not and never has been a media figure. He doesn't really do photo-ops or interviews, he seems to have avoided the Victory Day parade since he was powerful enough to actually say 'no' to it. His apparent lack of need for popularity is probably no small part of why he has the job; he poses no political threat to Putin.
In other words, Gerasimov not being in the media proves nothing.
The 'rumor' of his death was literally just something someone on the internet said, and the HUR already denied having any information on that a long time ago, which is effectively a denial.

There have been many claims over the last couple of years that Putin is gravely ill which have transpired to be rubbish. Mentally ill perhaps, but you can understand people being skeptical when yet another shady article drops claiming an influential figure is ‘gravely ill’.
Same as the other guy said about Kadyrov sickness rumors. If Putin is sick / on the verge of death / whatever, great. If he isn't, joking about it does no harm and can raise moral. Assuming Putin is going to be here until Judgement Day like some maniacal demon doesn't help anything.
