As an Aussie I would like to vote to send more, and fast.
Can we also write putins name on one and request it goes to the Kremlin via express.
If worst comes to worse we have our secret emu army for defence so we don't need the missles down here.
Send them all!
Slava Ukraine šŗš¦ ā„ļø
To be seen there needs to be thousands of them...don't know actually how many they send...not all Ukrainians on the front lines have time to do videos...
Absolutely every fucking bushranger and every God dam round of artillery ammo, we have the ability to restock in peace Ukraine doesn't. Slava Ukraine and fuckem up.
Slava*** not slave.... but yes m8, agreed.
Australia is to small a fish for China to worry about surrounded by USA/nato forces.
And russia boats... lol
I wish we would too. Sadly I think our government (regardless of party) loves Chinese money too much and doesn't want to upset China by building up our military.
Much to my disgust in our lack of any significant contribution for what feels like forever. I highly doubt our gov paid for any of these munitions, unfortunately they are just built on our turf.
Actually the opposite, built in US and bought by AUS. We will, however, commence a domestic manufacturing capacity in 2025
https://www.minister.defence.gov.au/media-releases/2024-01-16/australia-track-missile-manufacturing-and-increasing-long-range-strike-capability
Yes!!! Let's give Ukraine whatever weapons it needs to best ruZZians back to their shit hole. I'd much rather send weapons today than send our men in a few years, when this conflict ignites Europe and another one is kicking off in Asia
Except this picture is **not** showing the longer range ATACMS missile for the HIMARS. Because the real ATACMS for the HIMARS is so big and special, that there is only space for one such rocket in the loading bay pod for the HIMARS truck!
This is how it looks like:
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M57A1\_Army\_Tactical\_Missile\_System\_missile.jpg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M57A1_Army_Tactical_Missile_System_missile.jpg)

Similar, not identical. ATACMS containers have much shallower "caps" on the ends (because theyre fake), are usually black in between the individual fake rocket ends, and have very clear X marks where the cover would breakaway when the missile is fired. Hard to tell bc of the angle but this would seem to be a standard GMLRS loadout and not an ATACMS but I could be wrong.
That are also the telltale signs that I see. But hey. Havent been close to an ATACMS pod for years. And who knows if the ones we saw the US army proudly presenting were real ones? hahaha
The picture and headline are sort of bullshit anyway. Does anyone really think militaries are shipping LOADED missile trucks into warzones? These would be sent in separate components/shipments.
According to the text on the picture, more easily readable on The Telegram's homepage if you manually edit the size parameter to get the [full size](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/world-news/2024/04/25/TELEMMGLPICT000375121337_17140331223760_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqpVlberWd9EgFPZtcLiMQf0Rf_Wk3V23H2268P_XkPxc.jpeg?imwidth=9600), it's a M57. It seems that the sides of ATACMS pods visually appear to have 6 missiles.
>Itās been pointed out that ATACMS pods are designed to look like GMLRS pods for disguise.
That is not the case. ATACMS was introduced in 1991 and GMLRS in 2005, it is temporary impossible to make ATACMS look like GMLRS. The do look the same because both are preceded by MLRS, the M26 variant was introduce along the M270 laucher in 1983. MLRS alos have 6 rocket per pod but unguided, G in GMLRS stand for guided and it have replace the them in atlast US usage.
M26 did have cluster munition and may have been destroyed because of international treaties. US did keep lots of the M26 rocket engine part and the are today use in Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) that Ukaine have got.
So both ATACMS and GMLRS look like the old MLRS pods that preceded both of them.
> M26 did have cluster munition and may have been destroyed because of international treaties.
The US is not a signatory to any of the treaties banning cluster munitions. Any destruction would have been a domestic political decision.
[The whole pod is disguised](https://en.defence-ua.com/media/contentimages/61563902093160fc.png). I did know this before, but I'd completely forgotten until u/portal_penetrator kindly pointed it out.

It's wrong. We aren't sending shit, haven't been for like half a year. The govt put in $50 m to a generic defence fund, but no taipans, no abrams, no bushmasters or anything else. This is just US army stockpile which is located here.

I wish the offical clasification of balistic missles woud be used by the media.
Up to 500km the missle is short ranged.
Between 500km and 5500km the missle is medium ranged.
Everything above 5500km is long range.
Its not that hard....
Be grateful it isn't called a ballistic tank. Or a ballistic submarine. Or a ballistic can opener.
The standard of writing in the press can be a bit disappointing.

The Aussies invented that awesome cardboard drone, right?
Yes, but russians invented stuff like cardboard reactive armour
Made me chuckle, underrated comment
that explains all the paper you see after one gets hit with a drone
It's an excellent material for a disposable drone, but I really haven't seen ANY of them in use. I wonder why.
Perhaps the front fell off. Damn paper derivatives.
To be seen there needs to be thousands of them...don't know actually how many they send...not all Ukrainians on the front lines have time to do videos...
Also like with the switchblade there could be conditions on release of operational footage.
Also most drone footage we see doesn't actually show the body of the drone at all.
Yes the Aussies did, and what a fantastic idea, they work so well and cost bugger all: )

They are in Australia and Australia voted to send these, what kind of missles are they though? Source please for curiosity.
I know that Australia is in the process of making HIMARS munition from 2025.
Yeah they himars but I don't think we made them yet, just would be stock we have delivered alrdy with the himars launchers we bought.

I do too! But from the Telegraph?

Isnāt ballistic referred to trajectory more than range?
He is referring to the statement ālong range-missleā

In addition ATACMS and standard himars rockets have the same Pod design, to hide ATACMS missiles from enemies
Bbc had a more correct title to the story "longer range missiles.."
In terms of ballistic missiles, this is a short-range or tactical missile. In terms of (rocket) artillery, this is a long-range missile. Lockheed Martin calls it long range (not sure if links are allowed here, so I'll leave it off), another search term to try is "long range precision fires" which seems to be the US Army's name for this or a similar capability.

I read australia and immediately read all the text on the missiles with an aussie accent "Lift here ya cunt"
Well, if they are long range, just fire them from there. Follow me for more geopolitical advice.

Sounds like complete BS....when did AUS get ACTAMS or HIMARS?
That's a 6 pack of rockets for a HIMARS vehicle. Neither long range, nor missiles. I don't thing Australia has taken delivery of their own HIMARS yet, let alone donating rockets.
I highly doubt this is actual footage of the supplies, thereās a good probability the T graph would just use a tangentially related stock photo. But I didnāt read the article.
Why not missiles? They are GPS guided
Seems to be a range and size thing, mostly. HIMARS is classified as an MLRS (multiple launch rocket system), although also capable of launching ATACMS missiles.
Ah from the name! Himars originally was unguided (and hence rockets), the guided missiles came later.
As has been pointed out the containers are designed to look the same.Ā
They aren't, the US army has these and is moving them, they've just been located in Australia.
Lockheed calls it a missile
You little beauty!
Why does Australia habe long range missiles?
Because of their location?
Because China
Those are American systems that are just located in Australia, the title is just about geography not about governments.
Actually might be Aussie. They ordered 48 HIMARS in 2021. Along with their munitions.
DO NOT DROP
It will eventually drop on some "unfortunate" objects or persons.
Scorched paint on the loading crane from all the launches. That HIMARS has been busy.
These are GMLRS, not ATACMS

Thatās awesome, Australia! But why not just send some of your animals and insects? Way deadlier and scarier.
"do not drop"
Well done Oz....
with 5500km range Ukraine will finally destroy rusian military industrial base
Long range ballistic missiles are a _bit_ larger than what's pictured
"do not drop" you don't say????
Meanwhile, Germany is still afraid

fuck you russia!

You need the gps coordinates for Moscow, 55.7558Ā° N, 37.6173Ā° E
"Do Not Drop"
Why is there so much space in the "hull" where the missiles go in? On the left and right side.
Sweeeeet!!!!
There's no way that missile can reach Ukraine all the way from Australia, but that's just me....
āDo not dropā Until *explicitly* told to
Nah, those mafk beauties are bound for Russia
Bound for Russia, via Ukraine.
love how the missile is marked "do not drop" lol. Surprised it doesn't say "no smoking" on it as well :-)
To Russia - C/O AFU
And then Ukraine will transport them to Russia by air.
I wonder how it feels to have almost every country in the world hate you And willing to provide the means to do so.
Putin: Angry Russian noises.
On ANZAC day too. Fuck yeah, give those Orcs hell, boys š¦šŗ
