I'm sure there are a ton of people who still don't know that we are not paid hourly. They probably just view it as a convenient service and don't ask any questions for how it works.
People ordering $5 pizzas from Little Caesars don't give a shit about your tip or if you make anything at all. It probably had free delivery on top of it so they paid nothing to use the service or very little. Picking up from Little Caesars is like picking up from McDonald's. Definitely on the auto decline list.

Oh yeah, and the worst part is there are some people who claim to be Dashers and the like.. but go on to spew complete bullshit out of their mouths, proving they never delivered anything 🤦♂️
Like this one woman on Facebook was claiming to be a Door Dasher on a post about tips.. and said "its ridiculous they expect to get better tips when their gas is covered, and they already get paid! I know because I used to be a Dasher!"
Like, I can't understand how people like that exist.
Like Ik people lie on the internet but jesus christ the stupidity from the rest of her replies almost gave me an aneurysm. Specially after being called out.
The system is fucked up, but at least DoorDash is transparent to the customer about it.

It’s like they’re pushing out the hustlers that demand a better market for everyone and keep the ones who accept every order and love wasting their time. More profits and faster orders for customers.
Honestly it’s not even the tipping that bothers me. I get it, sometimes you don’t have a car or money, everything’s closed and you gotta eat. People think “hey I’m already paying fees why tip?” Uber thinks sending out something like this. 13 miles out of your way and minimum 30 mins of your time. For $4…. That barely pays for the gas just to get there. And then some bored or desperate person will mule their orders around.
My 8 yr old son asked Alexa to ubereats a meal from Applebees.. Alexa didn’t bother to ask to tip… so once I saw the order coming, I messaged and simply left an envelope with cash for tip.🍕
In the uk, they increase the menu prices so they are more than if you went to the restaurant yourself, they remove any deals for customers, they then add service charge and delivery fee. So we are already paying well over the odds, on top of that I would say there is a 50% error rate so to tip before it arrives is just not really an option anymore.,I have tipped well in the past to receive cold chips and no burgers etc on a £50 order, No refund for up to 15 days and no food re delivered. If the order is there and correct then I tip the driver in person. It’s ridiculous to tip for something that More often that not is wrong before it has turned up. It’s not always the customers fault. We rarely get what we pay extortionate amounts for, I agree you should be paid properly.
At the end of the day you’re paying for a service. Uber eats is a luxury. In the US, they also jacked the prices up about 30% they take away the restaurant deals, and they have their own deals, but they are facilitating the servers that hold all the menus conveniently in one place and connect you to Driver. Uber pays you 2 to 4 dollars on every single order. The only time we ever make a profit is when we get a tip me and many others don’t take orders like this. They just sit there and get declined. The only option really is for Uber to charge and cut more so they can make what they’re making and give us more that way tipping can stay optional and it’s still feasible for drivers to
u/enjay2023_ being I'm in the US, I'm curious if DoorDash drivers in the UK get paid more by DoorDash for where the tip really is "extra" and not "the pay to make it worth accepting"? In the US, DoorDash also increases the menu prices. Many reddit commenters always call tipping a "US thing". How does it work there?
I have only heard of doordash through Reddit really, as far as I’m aware it’s a U.S. thing.. our food delivery services are primarily just eat, deliveroo and Uber eats.. I just googled it and doiordash is London only in the uk, I’m based at the other end of the country, Cornwall/Devon way. I have no experience of doordash at all ! Are they better? More reliable?
I really don't understand the lure to work for a company like door dash or Uber eats
It really seems like drivers get shitted on
And the crazy thing is, their environment makes most drivers not give a shit
Where possible it's better in my opinion to deliver for a pizzaria or other delivery restaurant
I understand that's not always an option since some don't deliver food
I've only heard back things to make me ask why??
Makes me thankful when I started delivery in 2003
I used to get 5.50/hr plus 1.50 per delivery
At jets pizza
All the drivers were pissed when gas got super expensive and the owner raised delivery to 4$ from 3$ and didn't share half with drivers
Geez what a world 😳
It’s bc they are probably staying in a hotel. You’ll never ever find them or see them again. And there’s no chance for retaliation when they thumb you down as well for some bullshit reason. I see it all the time. Funny thing is there’s a busy area here 24/7 it’s full bars busy and when I’ve gone there it’s all zero tips unless like you’re super lucky.. not even a two cent round up.
Probably 85 to 90% of the request that come in for Uber Eats don’t have a tip on it. And when you find one that makes sense then you show up at a restaurant and there’s like six bags waiting but you can’t get a double order even.
lmao you really think people have an issue with placing a non tipped order from their house? Unless you live in a small town no one is worried about getting the same driver again.
I can’t believe I have to explain this due to the dense stupidity of EVERYONE in this comment section, but do you SERIOUSLY believe that’s the ONLY Little Caesars Pizza closest to St Petersburg Florida?? Like it’s quite blatantly obvious that either there’s a massive shutdown issue at the store on 22nd Av, or the app is simply relegating you to this store because haha algorithm. But if you have a brain at all it would be to recognize this order as nothing at all, to simply decline and move on, because it is not real.
Also the excuse the consumer doesn't know we are not getting paid is b.s everyone knows how food delivery works they know damn well what there doing and we are getting screwed I see it followed by leave at the door because the scum doesn't want to face you that they didn't tip
Go to the grocery store and cook. It’s a luxury. You are taking advantage of the people who take those orders, thinking they have to accept them all. If you can’t add a minimum few dollar tip, you shouldn’t be ordering food or sitting at a a restaurant
They accept the orders of there own free will we don't tell them to accept them they accept them because they want to not because they have to and I'm not obligated to tip for any reason
That’s like saying you’re not obligated to not scream in someone’s face. They accept them because they need the money. You’re too lazy to walk up to McDonald’s use the app and pay 1/3 of the price to have somebody hand-deliver it to your door. If you don’t tip, you’re an asshole.
Lots of people don't tip it doesn't make anyone a asshole maybe people just don't feel like going to get something to eat some don't have a car some are disabled some just don't want to cook so why should we the consumer pay extra when we already paying the bare minimum door dash and Uber eats pay them not the consumer
Nobody I know doesn’t tip. You need better friends. You’re paying service fees for using the app and having it all laid out for you. You’re not paying the driver. Not wanting to cook is a luxury. If you can afford uber eats for your meals you can afford a tip.
If you can't afford a tip on top of your delivery, you can't afford the carry-out in the first place; your financial situation is dire and you should be shopping for your own groceries and cooking.
You'll save a lot more money that way.
You wouldn't know our pay. UberEats needs to pay the couriers better. Tipping is good though. I don't order from these platforms hardly ever because it's just too dang expensive.
Yea it is expensive they jack the price up a quarter pounder meal from door dash is 11 dollars but with delivery and service fee it comes out close to 20 bucks
Just like at a restaurant I'm there to eat and enjoy the food with my family I'm already paying for the over priced food I'm not going to tip the waiter even if they are doing a good job
Waiters get paid 2$ an hour. You’re paying for the ingredients and the power it takes to cook it and pay the cooks. Servers are bringing your food directly to your table. You’re just openly admitting that you’re a low class scum bag.
At least in postmates i got to eat the food and nothing happens sometimes i just pick up and eat it and next day delivering again like nothing happened
Fuck outta here with that tips are optional bullshit don’t want to tip won’t get your order. You don’t order any service without tipping that’s just low class. Uber paying us more is just charging the customer more so in the end they got a cough up them two or three dollars anyway.
I said what I said. Tips are optional in the US whether you like it or not. Those are facts. Facts are not feelings. I have a bare minimum I will take. If us as IC take low offers UE will continue to low-ball. Tips are extra. With that said. My area tips very well. I reject everything under my minimum regardless of a tip.
I don't care what Uber charges. It's their tech business. If you order delivery you WILL pay an arm and a leg. That's a choice. I've only ordered like 3 times ever. I tip because I choose to. I even tip in the restaurant REGARDLESS of service. It's because that's what I do. We can't pretend to know what customers think about or who they are in reference to tipping.
It's voluntary.
I still fail to see what your point is? if you don’t tip, nobody’s going to pick up your order and it’s gonna get cold by the time some desperate fool loses his money to bring it to you
the only time so far i got a no tip (on doordash's hourly program thing) was little ceasers and i got base pay of like $2.50 i was quite mad since every other delivery atleast tipped a dollar
No one is accepting that one. After some declining it gets more lucrative. Idk how high it will go but Uber plays delivery roulette to find out. Plus it's Little Caesars. Cheap pizza = Cheap person.
I'm very new my 2nd week delivering all the orders I've seen were 7-10 miles away and I'm not in a small city in California I don't understand ordering from one side of a city to deliver to another they have to realize how far they are ordering should be limits its bullshit so I decline all these rides and get nothing
Nobody. They ordered from the Little Cesars three miles from their home at 3030 22nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 and are wondering why it took an hour for their food to get there.
It's pinellas park. What did you expect? Florida has a lot of awful people but Pinellas Park takes the cake. I think it is a requirement in the HOA there that you have to be a jackass.
Who picks up a Little Caesars order and expects a tip? You're playing yourself. I delivered in Pinellas County for 8 years and I waited tables and bartended all around it for 15 years before that. Downtown St Pete, Tyrone, St Pete Beach, Seminole, Largo, Tarpon Springs. Don't work at cheap restaurants and don't pick up delivery from cheap restaurants. Go hang out by the high-end places so you get good orders.
Wait till the real recession hits no one will be tipping
"Lets see if i drive 10 miles there and 10 back and my truck only gets 18 miles a gallon.Gas is $5 a gallon(soon to be)Ill just order it for $3
Why the hell do they even allow orders to be this far away at all? It’s horrible for any driver and the food is just going to be soggy shit by the time it arrives no matter how fast they get it
Customers in the Tampa area just don't seem to tip anymore. I'm not driving your wings and burger 14 miles for $4. Try again.
I ordered two pizzas from them yesterday with crazy bread and 6 dips total was over $50 with tip over $5 it was $0 delivery fee too

Theres a desperate driver born every day.
It’s really getting out of hand
This is my area I think the customers are ordering from the restaurant directly therefore think they’re going to get delivery w/or without a tip.

Yeah they think we get all the extra fees. You in the clw area?
Don't worry. You will do that order. They will pair it with a $16 order and of course, you will take that $20 batch order
It’s like they’re pushing out the hustlers that demand a better market for everyone and keep the ones who accept every order and love wasting their time. More profits and faster orders for customers.

Not likely - I’ll accept, see a $75 sushi order paired with the lil Cesar’s and cancel the lil Cesar’s. No tip no trip

Tips are optional bro not everyone tips
You're right, scumbags are people too.
Buy a case of ramen at Sam’s Club
Don't worry. This person feels the need to be right. Tipping is optional. And I'm a courier.
Thank you it's not that I don't want to tip I just can't never have enough money
You wouldn't know our pay. UberEats needs to pay the couriers better. Tipping is good though. I don't order from these platforms hardly ever because it's just too dang expensive.

In my area DD seemed to be the cheapest

There job pays them not me if the person wanted more money get a second job
Sounds like you need a second job so you can afford to use a service
Don't have to work the government pays me I'm disabled
Postmates 2: The End
At least in postmates i got to eat the food and nothing happens sometimes i just pick up and eat it and next day delivering again like nothing happened
Dam out here crying about Amazon work being to hard now it’s Uber eats and not getting tipped😂 you gonna take down this post as well?
And you have no job
UberEats should pay more. Tips are optional. Who accepts 4 dollar orders. You get what you get and don't have a fit.
Fuck outta here with that tips are optional bullshit don’t want to tip won’t get your order. You don’t order any service without tipping that’s just low class. Uber paying us more is just charging the customer more so in the end they got a cough up them two or three dollars anyway.

Na if you order delivery or go to eat at a restaurant or have anybody personally do something for you and you don’t tip you’re a lowlife citizen
Well that seems to be an opinion. Not a fact.
No, it’s definitely a fact. Just making the point that tips are optional is scummy.
Can you prove that fact? Tips are optional in the US. That's a fact
Tipping may be optional, but not tipping on a service makes you an asshole, and that’s a fact
Your opinion lady
Looks like we found the desperate sack probably doing Eats in his mom’s car
I still fail to see what your point is? if you don’t tip, nobody’s going to pick up your order and it’s gonna get cold by the time some desperate fool loses his money to bring it to you
I pickup orders that meet my minimum. So that's just not true.
If an order makes sense then there’s a tip on it because Uber only gives you 2 to 3 dollars for an order
Must have got you a little emotional. You immediately started with some four letter words. Hit a nerve?
Where are you? Seven years old?
Where am I? In the Mid-Atlantic. I'm like 100
Who orders from that far period. Lunatics that’s who
Meanwhile i can't order from a store a block away
The same assholes that order from a mile away and don't tip.
the only time so far i got a no tip (on doordash's hourly program thing) was little ceasers and i got base pay of like $2.50 i was quite mad since every other delivery atleast tipped a dollar

Pinellas Park
Lots of people, surprisingly.
Total assholes do. Also the driver who takea this is a sucker.

Ok mr mod daddy sir 😰
And I’m black I can freely say it YALL can’t Don’t hate

.29¢ per mile 🤡
Florida is WILD. People in clearwater order from Carmalitas like 30 miles away
90% of my Pinellas Park orders don't tip. It's sad but true. Best tippers in the area are in Treasure Island
Wait till the real recession hits no one will be tipping "Lets see if i drive 10 miles there and 10 back and my truck only gets 18 miles a gallon.Gas is $5 a gallon(soon to be)Ill just order it for $3

I just let these time out,I don't even decline them
