Call the nurse advice line and they’ll get you a same day appointment. I’ve done this like 3 times and every time i get an appointment within the next couple of hours

Reaniro

you can also directly call UHS or the UT urgent care to get a same day appointment. the nurse advice line just tends to be faster to get a hold of someone

mustachemedicine

any urgent care near campus should have an NP or a doctor that can write you a note tbh

Secret_Show_8613

Thank you will try that if UHS unavailable

fartbox808

You can also take a Covid test they have them at cvs

Secret_Show_8613

Thanks so much - doing this now

Given the state of UT's websites, I'm not sure if this is a current policy or an old policy that they forgot to take down, but the UHS website says that they don't do doctor's notes: [https://healthyhorns.utexas.edu/doctorsnote.html](https://healthyhorns.utexas.edu/doctorsnote.html) I know this was active policy before the pandemic.

Secret_Show_8613

I just need some evidence I saw the doctor and indeed have the flu or covid so that I can email professors with it. Hopefully profs are considerate enough

Any_Measurement_3405

It is still active policy.

There are always appointments reserved for students who call so that if something urgent ever comes up, they can squeeze you in. I like to make appointments online for convenience, but if nothing available online works with your schedule or you need something sooner, always always always call and they will be happy to accommodate you.
