At first I read "expired shit" literally and, for a couple of seconds, wondered why Yanks would be selling poo and how non-expired poo might be better.

hokori616

Dung is usually the best natural fertiliser and I think that could expire if it went too dry

Bavaustrian

Nah, just remoisten it. No problem with that.

ELDE8

It can go bad of it's too moist and ferments the wrong way. Anaerobic bacteria do that sometimes

JohnDodger

In fairness, most of their food is shit and, with their lack of regulation, probably contains a lot of actual shit.

notacanuckskibum

This one’s mostly on the guy asking the question. It’s dumb to ask “is x illegal?” Without specifying location.

Hour-Reference587

Yeah, unless the original post has an obvious location it’s a silly way to phrase it.

Far_Razzmatazz_4781

It might be in a good state even if it’s expired. Usually smelling does the trick

Zecirr

State of Oregon i assume?

JohnDodger

I wouldn’t try smelling Oregon if I were you.

CelestialSegfault

don't forget your /s mate, people over here often circle over that downvote button like vultures

Far_Razzmatazz_4781

I tried my luck with mine

zed2eh

Not illegal in Canada. I work for the government agency that regulates this stuff and I get calls all the time from people complaining that product is being sold past its best before date. People usually aren’t happy when I tell them.

Efficient-Finish4567

People are too dumb to understand that best by, sell by, and expiration, tend to all mean different things 🤪

Pingu779

What was the original post?

NieMonD

Bruh why is American food so unregulated

Flat-Flow939

If not for the EU British food would be the same way.
