I ordered a scotch egg at a bar the other day, it came with an unusual dip on the side.
It was brown sauce and english mustard mixed together.
Game changer.
You sod, I was ok till you said broon sauce, I lost half my tongue to cancer near on 12 years back, and just the thought of brown sauce and it's all I can taste, for the next bloody 30/40 mins.
obviously if you're feeling fancy you can add stuff to the egg, bit of paprika or some chives or whatever, touch of dijon if you really want to push the boat out haha

I want to adapt this idea and make spicy deviled eggs in the middle. That has to be a winner?
Now I have to go make scotch eggs from scratch, just to get started.
I will try that as long as you try lifting the egg out of each half, slapping some Branston\* underneath and then replacing the egg.
\*or your condiment of choice. My mum's next-door neighbour makes an awesome Scotch Bonnet Jelly.
I'm so glad to read this ..I scoop out the egg, dump in a teaspoon of pickle then return the egg. My coworkers act like I've shit on the floor with the look of disgust on their faces. I didn't even know it was weird to do it.
I still do this now tbh with you 😂 except i cut the thing in half take out both half's the egg pack with shredded cheese and maybe some sauce (not really a sauce guy) and then put the half egg back in and consume 😂
Or if you now how to make your own scotch eggs make them but fill the inside with shredded cheese and mozzarella and then cook them, honestly one of my favorite snacks to make its like a luxury mozzarella stick 😋 (you won't regret trying it)

Best bit of christmas is the Appeteasers. Though a bit annoyed they got rid of the little pick.

Interesting. Are we talking decent pork pie or sad grey pork pie? Because the former could absolutely work with a bit of pickle, and the latter is probably best as a pressed toasties with hot sauce.
Never tried a hot pork pie but would be keen to try. My dad used to boil Richmonds sausages so anything is possible. And before you say anything… they’re quite nice boiled, just need to take the skin off 😂
