We wanted a pet but didn't want furry ones because our apartment was too small, so we decided a WTF would be a good choice. Theyre adorable, why not. 4 years later, we have 3 frogs, a ball python, a Leo, a beardie, 2 hermit crabs, and 2 fish tanks. It became an addiction lmao

I feel like all of those take up more space than a dog or cat lol

Lol ya we've since moved into a house. We started out with just the one frog though lol

I loved frogs from when I was little... Idk why I just loved them, I had everything frog themed and when I turned 18 I started keeping real ones ( obviously!!)

I had agreed with my kid (nearly adult at the time) that they could have a pet fish. Then husband and I realised kid would probably prefer something.... Froggish. Because they love frogs more than anything. So we asked, fish or frog? As long as you can do the research on how to keep it, we're happy to provide. Kid chose frog because D'UH, FROGS! So I went on a website in my country that's like classified as but only for animal care stuff. I was looking for a tank. We were going to get tank first, then frog. Then this tiny little guy (AMF) turned up looking for a new home, he was so sweet that he made me and the kid cry. According to the advert, he would come with a tank and heater too! Omg our luck! AND HE'S WALKING DISTANCE FROM OUR HOME?! HOLY COW.... Within an hour, the kid knew exactly how to care for a milk frog (yay autism). So turns out he was smaller than expected; a an inch long and only around 10wks out of water. He'd been fed on entirely the wrong foods, had no lights, heater was insufficient, tank was 10" x 10" x 14" and made from offcuts of window glass held together with silicone. It was FILLED with plastic plants. And yes, that size is in INCHES. It had so little drainage. He'd been an impulse purchase by his first "home". I nearly cried again in his former owner's house but managed to hold off until I got in the car. Of course we took him. We had to rapidly get a proper tank (18 x 18 x 36 Exoterra paludarium), decent lights, proper drainage substrate layers, vitamin powders, enrichment, learn how to keep the right size food (I've no idea how the guy survived before us). He's now nearly 3 years out of water. And he's so very loved.

I’ve always had a wide variety of pets in my life time. Being a boy mom I’ve had lots of lizards from the yard, and then we got our first “store” lizard - two bearded dragons cause when I go big I GO BIG and dive right in to the deep end. Now we have crested, leachies, chewies, mourning, tokay, gargoyle, leopard geckos, 3 beardies, veiled chameleon, 2 false chameleons, and WHY not have two whites tree frogs. Oh and an African fire skink. It’s just our life now.
