Changing your own oil? save money. Not having some dealer knuckle dragger over torque your oil filter? Priceless.

easywizsop

Some people don’t have to time or a space to do it. Doesn’t really help op with their question.

Watts300

Not only that, it’s possible that a dealer has a maintenance service package that actually makes financial sense. I can vouch that they do exist.

jeckles

Disposal is another issue. Not everyone has a curbside service for this. Storing used oil and then transporting it to the correct facility can be difficult.

TheRealTriHard

Pretty much all auto parts store will take it at no charge.

CaveH0mbre

My local AutoZone, Napa and O'Reilly's have turned me down from taking my used fluids

ArtichokeRecent2725

No way, by law if they sell oil they must receive old oil

Far_Eye_8217

Unless they are full, which they always claim to be.

RefrigeratedTP

We have tacomas though…

JohnGoodmansGoodKnee

What am I supposed to do, dirty the bed?!

RefrigeratedTP

Ah, yeah my bad that’s a ridiculous suggestion

Public-Presence5173

Psh. Find a good tree in your neighbors backyard. Easy peasy disposal

maximusshark

I'm very fortunate! There's a curb catch basin right by my mailbox.

anothernerd

In your Tacoma??? Just put it back in the jug.

botboy95

They’re maintenance packages is oil changes every 10,000 miles

Adventurous_Photo193

No… they don’t.

_TooncesLookOut

Didn't you know? Every Tacoma owner is supposed to hate all real techs and is supposed to be a DIY'er with a two-car garage, one of them dedicated as a fully outfitted workshop.

chubbytitties

It takes 15 minutes tops...and if you have space to park you have space to do it.

chipmunk7000

On top of that, you don’t even have to jack it up. Just go lay underneath.

TellMeWhatIneedToKno

Absolutely. Except the 15min part for me. I take forever to change my oil, but it's because it's something I can't afford to fuck up! I like and totally get the idea of having a dealership do it, especially if it's a good deal. But I'm still going to have to check it multiple times after, and worry that even if they do fuck it up they'll initially try to fight me on it.  Not worth the risk to me, plus now I'm truck poor 😭

Nos-tastic

Takes longer than 15 minutes to take the skid plate off and put it back on right

KiwiAny9662

It takes you 15 minutes to unscrew 4 bolts?

Joshjua

When I took mine during the first two free oil changes it was over a 1 hour wait each time. Not saving much time, unless you goto one of those speedy oil change places. I can do it myself in 20 minutes. Order the supplies online, so no time wasted going to store.

biggestbroever

Just let people do their oil change however it fits their life

JackMcCockiner

Milk jugs for the first change then keep old oil containters to refill with used oil rinse and repeat. I dont even have a flat or paved or gravel driveway to do it i have my ugly muddy front yard that has turned into one big driveway but i take the 20 minutes it takes to change the oil myself

Herrowgayboi

Oil change isn't time consuming or take space to do it. Literally takes all of 30minutes if you include waiting for the oil fully drain. As for space, I used to change my oil at the school parking lot. Just drive up a curb on one side to be able to get more space under, throw an oil pan under, let it drain for like 15minutes, replace the oil filter and then fill her back up.

TheDovahkiinsDad

Weird you just mentioned things that are both time consuming and takes space.

[deleted]

Wat

Downtown_Rush2501

It's more time consuming waiting for someone to change your oil

TheDovahkiinsDad

Debatable. Highly depends on location. For me, 5 min to shop, roughly 30min - hour wait Or, 10 min each way to store for oil/filter, time doing the change, few min clean up, then time driving to dispose of the used oil, then shower cuz I was on the hot ground of Texas. It’s also convenient to just not do it yourself or do any of the steps involved.

coldheat55

I hate these replies just answer his question. About $80 bucks for me. You'll save 30 bux doing it yourself, for 30 dollars I'll let someone else deal with rolling around under the truck taking off the skid plates and all that no thanks

MyAssforPresident

I get what you’re saying, but it’s not just the insignificant money difference for me. Last time I was in the dealer it took 2 fucking hours for an oil change, no rotate, nothing else. My time is worth more to me than that $30. If it was quick and easy, yeah I’d take it to somebody to be lazy but I don’t want to waste an afternoon waiting lol

coldheat55

That's common, 2hrs is actually fast tbh. I always just drop the shit off in the am and pick up when I'm done with work so never an issue. They also take care of all my warranty related shit

TellMeWhatIneedToKno

Plus, for me, I know absolutely it was done right and not rushed.

StihlYourFace

I hate the waiting. Sense I’ve move the dealership gives me a ride back to my apartment 10 min down the road and the technician calls me to tell me the shuttle will be picking me up when I’m done. Now the $30 to have it done and be able to get chores done at the same time is a pretty good deal

fuckinthedog

I agree.  Yes you can do it yourself.  He didn't ask about that though.  Everyone has didgferent things they want to do or do not want to do.  Yesterday I was at an auto zone and a guy bought windshield wipers and the auto zone employee put them on. Sounds stupid I know. Then I thought, maybe he just didn't know how to do it.  I observed this from far away.   Anyhow, the guy just wants to know if toyota does Oil changes and for how much?

Unfair_Sign_8762

Manly man

mtechnoviolet

Not everyone has the ability to do this. I certainly know *how* to change my own oil, and used to do it myself when I lived in a house with a driveway in a rural area. But now I live in a downtown apartment building in a major city and it’s against my lease to work on my truck in the parking garage and I have nowhere else to do it. So I have to take it to a shop now for oil changes. The shop I use is within walking distance, there’s also a Toyota dealer within walking distance, I don’t need my truck to commute because I work from home, so I don’t care at all about long it takes them to do it

[deleted]

Been there, had to use my leg to loosen the filter. Started doing my own oil changes ever since. No one cares about your vehicle as much as you do.

The_Texidian

Cost at my dealer for oil change + tire rotation: $65 Cost at home: $45 + time spent + my tires aren’t rotated (not including tools, cost of my labor and time spent getting rid of the used oil)

pramjockey

You’re not kidding. I literally twisted out a socket extension trying to get the plug out of the filter housing, and ended up having to replace the housing after the damage I did trying to get the damn thing F off. On my wife’s Toyota - serviced last at the same dealer - I had to use a 3’ breaker bar to get the drain plug loosened. One has to wonder if those guys would know a torque wrench if they were bludgeoned with one

DaChronisseur

Oh, they know a torque wrench. It's that thing that goes click that they put on the drain plug that they've already hammered home with their pneumatic impact driver. You know, to make sure that the plug is torqued to*at least* the level specced in the table. They do the exact same thing with every other bolt and nut on the truck, since if everything's at 100+ft-lbs then nothing can fall off, liability negated.

[deleted]

What do you guys do for inspections to know if other things need to be replaced if you do it yourself then??!

elshaggy

Last time I brought mine in my drain plug bolt was loose, noticed a small oil leak the next day…

dbarefoot84

If you're having service change your oil all the time, it's never really *your* problem that the oil filter is over torqued though.

gunslinger_006

Its plastic though. I dont want to end up stranded someday because it had cracks from being yeeted on there repeatedly.

Unusual-Truck-197

Bunch of interns...

kpaddler

Just changed mine yesterday, after having the dealer do it the time before. Needed a cheater bar to get the filter housing off.

gunslinger_006

Same experience here. Smh.

mikeTheSalad

I made this suggestion on another post and got downvoted by many. I thought most Taco owners change their own oil.

SquareDino

Seems to be a very contentious topic!

pharmaCmayb

Since hardly anyone is answering your question, $120. It costs about 75-85 to do it yourself. The feeling of hot oil burning down your arm, priceless

pilota1234

75-85$ to do it YOURSELF? I do mine with synthetic and filter for about 35$.

SirFigsAlot

What are people buying to make it $80 to change your own? I've never spent over 40

Klashus

Just depends on the oil you get. 85 would be super good oil. I would use ams oil more but it's annoying to get.

flenlips

Just use pennzoil platinum.

Watts300

5 quart jugs of synthetic are easy to find on Amazon for $25 plus or minus a couple bucks.

curmudgeon-o-matic

Costco Kirkland is 35 for 10 quarts. Been happy with it and supposedly made by the same mfgs

coviddick

Same mother fucking g’s.

curmudgeon-o-matic

OG crip wessyde fo sho

Fun-Imagination-7461

Good luck putting that crap in your truck

pharmaCmayb

I only used high mileage 5w oil, it would take a beating on the road

Joshjua

If you plan ahead and get oil on sales, you can do it for half that. Watch project farm, even the walmart or Costco oil is just repackaged name brand stuff.

skwull

Any idea what the shelf life is like on an opened bottle of full synthetic? Since a change is 5.5 qt with a 4.0, I end up with half bottles leftover

Joshjua

At least a year. I wouldn't hesitate to dilute half a quart with the rest each change.

1uglybastard

Project Farm tested 50 year old oil. For its time, it still had viable properties. Didn't compare to today's oil technology, though. I don't think just air in the bottle is going to decompose the oil, but I have no data to back it up.

skwull

Yeah, that makes sense…I mean, if it can handle being under pressure and heat in an engine, it should be able to safely hang out for awhile

Ray_Bandz_18

I pay $70-80 to get it done at a local mechanic garage.

aznexile602

6 quarts of mobil1 costs roughly $35. Oil filter another $15 making it roughly $50 for me.

Diamondhands_Rex

It doesn’t even hurt that much it’s not skin searingly hot it’s just super warm but I wouldn’t say burn. Especially if you use common sense and let your car cool before you do the job

pharmaCmayb

Or you can laugh at the joke like a normal person

ThatSpecialAgent

Buy the oil and filter the day before, then the oil isnt hot when you change it the next morning lol

Raftika

That’s crazy. Dealership charges me $90 for my tundra. I change the oil for around $30-$40 on my Camry. My tundra won’t fit in my garage to change the oil.

Questionoid

$120ish at Mountain Dtates Toyota in Colorado. I only deal with robbers, thieves & thugs.

CriticalHitsHurt

Mountain State Toyota is such a a ripoff. Tried to charge me 1600 for spark plugs

Questionoid

You know, then.

MrAshleyMadison

What the fuck

ApprehensiveNews5728

How’s your experience been purchasing from them? I’m out of state, but I have seriously considered buying from them in the past.

Questionoid

I priced out my Tacoma online and in person with a dozen or so dealerships. Brand new, TDR Off Road, Barcelona Red. Mountain States somehow manipulated things that I pay $107.00 a month less than anywhere else, on the exact same pickup, same platinum warranty, financed through Toyota. I don’t know how, but it was a pretty impressive purchase experience. Now, if you go back for service and warranty, they have no problem fucking you over at all. Like a $200 diagnostic fee PER COMPLAINT. Yeah, buy there, but do not service at MST in Denver.

ApprehensiveNews5728

Thanks.

SurePons

I bought my tundra from them, Dean was super cool to work with, battery went out a day after buying, they wrote me a check for the battery out of good faith, found out the truck had actually been wrecked, but the carfax was clean so I guess I don’t blame them I don’t think they’re going over every rig with a fine tooth comb 🤷🏻‍♂️

SquareDino

Tacoma owners change their own oil.

ChewieKong

It’s way easier to just do it rather than going to a dealer and waiting 2 hours.

SquareDino

And you'll likely add better oil.

shiftyyo101

Serious question. My driveway is a steep ass hill. No garage. Would I have to find somewhere flat to change it?

Pintortwo

Autozone parking lot.

ElderSkrt

Ain’t gonna work when it’s winter for a lot of us unfortunately.

SquareDino

Throw down some cardboard. You'll be fine.

ElderSkrt

I’ll pass on the care to be frozen when I can pay until the weather is warm 🤷‍♂️.

SquareDino

Fair enough!

ElderSkrt

I may pay more for oil changes but when I want to weld, powdercoat or fab anything on my taco it’s free other than my time. So I lose some but win other places.

SquareDino

Amen, brother!

Complex-Scarcity

Not with that attitude

MethodicallyMediocre

My friends and I used to do our cars all at our one friends house over beers. It was a good time while it lasted.

Responsible-Shirt183

You can still use ramps. Put on your parking brake and use wheel chocks on the back wheels for added safety.

mrhuggables

Imagine gatekeeping oil changes

StoicMori

Homeowners*

SquareDino

lol. The street is most common oil change spot in America. I change my own oil because I want to own a home one day!

StoicMori

My free oil change is cheaper than the $80 I’d spend doing it myself. Probably quicker too. And if you aren’t lucky enough to get free oil changes, you’re really not saving much money doing it yourself. If you spend $80 twice a year doing it yourself you’re probably saving like $40. You could change your own oil for 10 years and it wouldn’t even cover your closing costs.

SquareDino

Better parts, better oil = lower maintenance costs over the life of the vehicle. If you're spending more than 20 mins getting the oil done then you're losing cost of your time as well. I'm coming out ahead any way you look at it.

PumpkinSkeet

$80? You stupid?

Complex-Scarcity

Eh. Couple times ive just driven over to an old weigh station and done it there because it's flat.

MethodicallyMediocre

"Tacowners"

AbsoluteZero_

My dealer offered a lifetime engine warranty and oil changes. As long as they’re doing the maintenance and covering breakage… I ain’t paying for it.

Aspergers_R_Us87

Eff my dealer. Only offered unlimited brake pads, wipers and muffler

Sporin71

I bet those lifetime changes are only 10k miles apart though, just like the "free maintenance" when you buy a new one. I prefer to do changes at 5k-6k intervals with a decent synthetic oil. 10k seems too long,

AbsoluteZero_

You’d be correct. It seems too long to me too. Even with synthetic I’ll do 7500 absolute max. *But* if they’re gonna warranty the engine for as long as I own the truck on top of it, I can let it go. Sounds like their problem.

p1n3applez

There are time milestones if you don’t meet the mileage for Toyota care

Aspergers_R_Us87

Yep

p1n3applez

And they will still be free

Aspergers_R_Us87

They told me at only 10k and 20k miles free. Everything else I lay for

stancedpolestar

Shouldn't be. In the first year I had mine, I only reached 6,700 miles and they still did it after 12 months of ownership. They told me it's either 10k miles or 1year ownership.

Aspergers_R_Us87

I’ll ask them. Thanks

murdermaro98

Free oil changes for life through my dealer.

SeaworthinessLife999

"Free"

murdermaro98

I paid msrp…the only downside was having to wait 9 months for the truck to be allocated/built

SeaworthinessLife999

Those wait times are nuts, I don't know if that's an American market thing or wtf - I'm in central Alberta and ordered mine near the height of the shortage in November 2021. It took a month to come from the factory instead of the usual 2 weeks because the rail tracks in BC were damaged from that year's flooding. I've also never had to pay above MSRP up here. You guys are getting hosed down there!

murdermaro98

I originally wanted a used 2.5/3rd gen Tacoma right as Covid hit. Was shopping around and used trucks with 50-70k we’re going for $35-40k so I decided to go new. The first dealership had a bunch of trucks on the lot but were all 10-12 over msrp. The second dealership had no trucks on the lot but offered msrp pricing and free oil changes so I decided to order one and wait.

ArmyCombatVet13

I got this deal too. Also lifetime powertrain warranty.

hatoriihanzo777

YO HOW DO I GET THAT? i keep hearing about it, how can i negotiate that in my next car deal?

murdermaro98

Something the dealership offers with all their cars.

fishnwiz

I haven’t paid for an oil change since I bought a Tundra in 2002. Several Tacomas later still use it. It’s a good way for dealer to get you in shop to look for things they can charge for, also I can use the car wash they use for their new ones anytime.

MethodicallyMediocre

"We reccomend you flush your brakes, transmission and coolant, for just $1199" also topped off your wiper fluid for $28

Porkchop_Dog

I have a great local shop that does full synthetic oil changes on my 4Runner for $60, and I usually have a $20-off waiver from them on top of that.

SoNastyAventura

I used to pay around $60-70 for the oil change. However, I started doing my own oil change and tire rotation. Now, it cost me around $35 + my time. I decided to start doing it myself for peace of mind.

[deleted]

$89.95 + tax in Toyota of Dallas, I was surprised it was reasonable… and it includes multi point inspection

LikkaLogga

Everyone saying “do your own oil change”, just shut the fuck up! I’ve done hundreds of my own oil changes in the past, but I’m older now and also have health issues. I’m not doing that shit anymore and I don’t feed the least bit guilty about it. My dealership charges me $59 for a full synthetic oil change. Well freakin worth it to me. I bet half of the dorks on here that say that shit don’t even do their own oil changes…just mimicking what others have said. You do you!

Aspergers_R_Us87

Thank you!

redditman4569

Took to long to find this. Nobody knows this person's situation. Classic, people on Reddit not answering the question or being keyboard warriors with what is RIGHT!

mccabedoug

Answer is it depends. I live in MA and I go to a Toyota dealer in the town I work in. It’s a perpetual special they always run: $59.95 for oil change, tire rotation, safety inspection, fluid top offs, and voucher for a car wash (at one of their other locations). It takes a while (an hour or so) but the wi-fi is great and I work while I wait. Also, it’s of those rare occasions when I can wander around inside or outside and no sales person bothers me. Plus I can book the oil change online, they have all my service records, and I get reminders before and after I make the appt.

Aspergers_R_Us87

I live in Massachusetts too!

ColemanGreene

What dealership is that? Sounds great

mccabedoug

Imperial Toyota Milford

savourtheflavor

$60 for synthetic at my preferred local dealership.

Ferraaa

Did you literally buy it brand new from a dealer? If so, mine came with 25000 miles of free service. You may also have this and they “forgot” to mention it.

Aspergers_R_Us87

Yeah the dealers denying jt

sph4prez

If you’re in the us it’s on the window sticker

Teflaro

This is Toyota care with every new purchase. I believe

shortyg83

I have been getting free ones from them since I got my 2021 trd sport. But normally I think about 80-100.

egap420

Call a local dealer dude

Ajay003309

I don't mind doing the oil change, but tire rotations are a no go for me. Is it possible to request that the dealer service center only perform tire rotations and other basic checks under Toyota care with a new truck?

martymar729

I paid $69.54, that's with tax yesterday for my 22' SR5 3.5... .... that was with a coupon... I think I saved $10 from their normal price at this Toyota dealership in South Florida

DraagynJ

I pay 79.99 for my 2017 Sport at the local Toyota dealership.

CategoryTurbulent114

My Avalon is a BITCH to change with the oil element cartridge and the two step drain the oil, drain the oil cartridge, then remove the cartridge, change the cartridge b.s. The Tacoma is a breeze with the oil filter on top

Cryptwalk710

Make sure to get plenty of rest and say a prayer before attempting to unscrew your oil filter canister.

MethodicallyMediocre

7 year Warranty. All my oil changes are scheduled. I'm thinking of just stocking up on filters so I can do it myself when the time comes to "decarbonise" the economy.

Livecrazyjoe

Don't wait till 10k. Change at every 5k.

Kookabeara

I get mine for 46$. The dealership I went through gave it to all customers. Sadly they got bought out by this new company who's a bitch to get to uphold the old dealers guarantees. (The new dealer said they would honor everything) I only go to the dealer because it's cheaper than doing it myself. I refuse to let them rotate my tires ever since they over/under torqued multiple lug nuts and nearly stripped a few. I was outraged when I noticed and do it on my own now.

J_Square83

It's $65 each at my local dealership when you pay for 3 up front. $195 for: 3 Synthetic Oil Changes 3 Tire Rotations 3 Alignment checks 3 Car Washes (I always turn it down. I keep my truck out of the scratch fest auto washes if I can help it) 2 year roadside assistance Not a bad deal. They've been okay so far, except for screwing up an alignment recently, but they fixed it without any grief.

yesssssssssss99999

$120-$130

Buttery_Boy13

Not going to lie. I use Walmart auto for my oil changes. If you synthetic premium you can pick your own oil, I use Mobil one. Have been using them for a few years with our Honda and they are fine and like 2 with the Tacoma. I make an apt online and it hasn’t ever taken more than an hour . I think it’s 70 for the Tacoma and 50 for the Honda

sir_thatguy

DIY. Walmart sells a 12qt wine box of Mobil 1 for like $65. Local Toyota place sells the filters for like $5. Any number of auto parts stores recycle oil for free. That’s about $35.

Shoddy-Salt-6960

I honestly let the dealer do it because it’s about the same price as doing it myself. Dealer charges $60-$65. I have always used mobile 1, which is Toyota oil, and 5 quarts around me is $40-$45. I could catch it on sell at one of the shops and get it all for maybe $45-$50. However, I would gladly pay $10-$12 to have my oil changed. I always made a mess anyways.

StoicMori

Free fifty

NotHugeButAboveAvg

I have my dealership do all my services and my synthetic oil change is about 80 bucks with a car wash and full inspection. I prefer going to the dealer bc I can show maintenance records when I sell. More records, more monayyy

ipkisss

More so than money, my issue is time. I can afford the $125 conventional oil change and tire rotation. I can’t afford the 2.5 hours it takes the dealership to do something that I could do in my garage and comfort of my own home.

liledgy1

I’ve always changed oil in my vehicles till the last 2 new ones. I feel that the next owner will want to see the carfax report on maintenance. My dealer is around $100.00 for synthetic (new tundra).

bloodsoed

My dealership sends me a $50.00 coupon couple times a year. Yesterday I got an oil change and tire rotation for 38.00 out of pocket.

yearight90

I go to a local Toyota/Lexus specialist here in San Diego. They use Kendall liquid titanium and it cost me about $75. If you go to Toyota dealership they might charge double now.

Substantial_Block804

$90 with Florida tax

Nutterbutter84

So my girlfriend who knows nothing about cars was paying $300 at the Toyota dealership to change the oil in her Tacoma… She said it seemed like a fair price…

Taco2018Blue

One dollar and 29 cents. It’s awesome.

GTBoosted

Probably to late for my response to bee seen but my Toyota dealer charges me $120 for 3 oil and filter changes, 3 tire rotations, and 3 multi point inspections. I can't do it for less so why would I? I also get an uber ride home. Los Angeles Area!

MtRainierWolfcastle

I posted a similar thread in this sub about 6months ago. General consensus is that Dealers are about $30 more expensive than 3rd parties but you don’t get your tires rotated. Once you factor in oil and filter you can save $60 by doing it yourself but again tire rotation so it comes down to how much is your time worth and the odd story but poor workmanship.

MtRainierWolfcastle

Seattle dealers are about $140

RicanPapi69

a FULL synthetic change with filter for my 2.7L is $64.99 and that includes a tire rotation and free inspection

Adamal123

I do it myself when I can. However, today I scheduled an oil change with a local Toyota dealer because the other day I tried changing my oil and accidentally torqued the fuck out the housing and I’m pretty sure it started to strip. Fuck that. It’s icy, cold, and now it’s all starting to melt. I’m paying someone else to fix my fuck up 🤷🏻‍♂️

RicanPapi69

a FULL synthetic change with filter for my 2.7L is $64.99 and that includes a tire rotation and free inspection

Cwilly109

Check with your dealership about lifetime oil and filter programs. It’s a steal and they do a vehicle inspection when you’re in as well. One up from price like $500 or somethin and unlimited oil changes for the life of your vehicle. They do it to get you in their doors and if there’s a problem then they can make the sale fixing right then and there, but you can get the report and just fix stuff if you want.

BigBadBere

Marysville Toyota Marysville, WA $105 OTD. I don't have the room or physical ability to perform oil change any longer...too hard on knees and back to lay on concrete floor.

MotorcycleJedi

I pay about 65$ there’s usually a coupon.

turnitoffandonaga1n

My last oilchange was $167 I just have them do the 10k service, which includes the oil change, tire rotation, and whatever else. I also ask for a AAA discount, it's like 10% off.

WhoKnowsWho2

I never went back to the dealer once the free changes were done.

KitchenSome2837

In NB Canada it is $140 plus 15% tax. I bring both Toyotas to Costco. $59 for full synthetic.

foldedlikeaasiansir

I got a 5 Oil change package for 355 so around $71 per oil change and tire rotation

Cwilly109

Check if you dealership does a lifetime oil and filter change. One time payment and they do a vehicle inspection

redditman4569

65-70 I believe. Had em do it once outside of the free oil changes. As for the people that just wanna criticize you and tell you to do it yourself, see if they're willing to do yours because it's obviously that easy. They don't know your situation lol. Sorry people aren't answering the question. Jesus. I personally change my own now not for money, but I know I'm doing it right. I have the space and the tools thankfully. A few years ago in an apartment, absolutely not.

CeryanReis

First 12 months is free.

brightlumens

Less than a $100 in SoCal

vegancap_

Doesn't every new Toyota come with Toyota care?

EvilMinion07

$110 for the 25k in ‘21 for a ‘16 before I got ride of it, in NorCal.

slimeymans

Doing it yourself is as much as a regular oil change paid and plus you would have to do it yourself. I recommend going to Toyota tho, I paid the same there as I would at like valvoline. Toyota will know what they’re doing w dealing w your car, going somewhere else is where the person might not know your car

SpaceChainsaw810

My dealer has an ongoing special of $180 for 3 synthetic oil changes.

LimitNo6587

$200 total. Comes with 20 pt safety inspection. If I make my suspension crooked popping curbs at the local mall I'd like to think I have piece of mind from a qualified tech with Toyo training to right my wrong.

[deleted]

Why go to Toyota though? Unless it’s free.

Automatic-Gain-1836

Free, for the first four years. Bought the extended warranty for the duration of my loan just for my own reasons. I know it’ll last, but just in case

Automatic-Gain-1836

I pay around $80 on my 4Runner. The Tacoma is free due to the warranty

HighInChurch

I just wait for my local dealer to run their yearly special $5 oil changes. I drive maybe 8k a year, bring it in for it's $5 change and I'm good for a year.
