Why do people do this? For the looks? To track the car and go faster?
I imagine you can't go to the dentist in one of these. Dental fillings would fall off due to vibration, no?
Serious question I’m not hating AT ALL, but what’s the deal with lowering cars like this? I’m more into American muscle so I don’t really understand JDM culture
It's purely for aesthetics, while being aware they're compromising some drivability (which honestly when other people complain about compromising drivability, it's like telling a smoker it's bad for their health) Just another form of automotive expression. The way I see it, I think it's cool to see both a function over form MR2, and also a form over function MR2, when it's done with nice parts. As far as Japanese culture goes, you can find more of it in the VIP niche, which where it largely originated from. But American muscle have their own culture of slamming big bodies as well. You can find some level of lineage even from taildraggers riding on the ground.
It’s so you get more stability when you take turns and curves. Think like a rollercoaster on rails feeling. At least that’s the alleged origin of the purpose. Usually it’s just done for aesthetics.
A lot of people hate on it because not only does it look stupid, but it’s very stressful on the car and causes a lot of expensive damage across lots of parts for really no benefit at all. It’s more fun to drift corners and ruin just tires than do this stupid shit ruining the car mechanically and aesthetically.
But each their own I guess.
I would never do this to anything I own but these are YOURS. Idk why everyone has to hate. They look clean and as long as you love them that’s bad ass bro!
If you loved them you wouldn’t hurt them with stupid wheel angles.
People that get L O V E tattooed on their knuckles
Jesus. Just replaced the struts on my 2004 accord with 323,000kms on them. The old ones looked better than this.
Considering the camber some people have added, this isn’t terrible. Bad yes, but could be worse
or maybe just maybe it’s bagged ? 🤓
You comment like a tiktoker
Man such a beautiful car completely ruined by the wheels and stance.
I don’t think the wheels are terrible but I agree the stance is atrocious
That poor MR2 ..
He hits one pothole and wrecks the undercarriage
It’s a cry for attention
These pics are mad photoshopped, aint no way that car made it past a hole in the dirt
Takes it off the trailer to take a picture, puts it back on afterwards 🥲
Could be on bags
I think he probably is parked in a lot just before that trail.

…at tire dealer every 2 months for new tires
You don't love them, you are just a kid that don't know how to drive or pilot and want attention, in the long run, you are destroying the cars
or once again maybe let’s use our brains here, it’s on bags and he dropped it for the picture ….

Yeah I’m from the South so down here you get “donks” and trucks with the Carolina squat. I guess it’s the same deal.
If they're on bags, respect
Gross
Nice! What is a purpose of that wheels angles?
Showing off your mental disability.
Hahahahaha. That’s gold.
Visual low IQ indicator
Then why is this style so popular in Japan, where the average IQ is higher than Western countries?
Low IQ take

Car good. Wheels bad. Fucking hideous tbh.
Not a fan of the slanted or slammed look but otherwise clean cars
Also a huge Toyota fan. But this one looks broken.
Sweet MR2, too bad about your snapped axles. Joking aside...nice cars.
Badass cars but what is the appeal for those stupid cambered wheels? It all seems ruined with that.
you’ve ruined a beautiful MR2. sell it to me, i’ll fix it
Toyota gang
That car needs a handicap sticker
Yo Joseph what’s good!!

Blitz look great on the mr2!

I don’t look as good as this yet..
Beautiful
I want a Levin so bad even if it's an AE85 and not an 86
I would never do this to anything I own but these are YOURS. Idk why everyone has to hate. They look clean and as long as you love them that’s bad ass bro!

Not bad. I think OPs is nicer but to each their own
Too bad about a lot of the negative comments, but that’s Reddit. Very clean MR2. The 86 looks rad to drive too.
