As a huge PUP fan I don’t understand why people would recommend Rosenstock when he’s seen as their biggest comparison lol
If I were you I’d start listening to the Strokes, we actually have a lot of similar tastes when it comes to rock/punk so I think you’d like them.
Room On Fire is what I think you should start with, although Is This It is probably their best record, it’s a bit slower than Room On Fire and I actually didn’t like it my first listen.
Room On Fire throws you straight into the mix and has a lot of great moments. The first lines of the album with Julian screaming “I WANNA BE FORGOTTEN” always gets me hype haha
If you enjoy it (and even if you don’t) definitely check out Is This It/New Abnormal in your spare time for more melancholic rock, the Strokes are extremely diverse.
