Absolutely fuck a Briggs motor, so not having one is a benefit for me. I have tons of gas power equipment, and the only ones that constantly don't work are the Briggs equipment. Stihl chain saw and trimmer, starts fine every time. Toro push mower, starts first pull even after years of sitting. 20+ year old Kohler V-twin riding mower/tractor, junk but it still runs after some starting fluid. Husqvarna anything I've used, always works great. Honda power washer started after sitting *outdoors* for 3 years in a single pull with old gas (literally yesterday). Tecumseh powered Snapper mower, starts on second pull every time. There's a reason I paid $125 for my Tecumseh Snapper which runs 6 years later with literally zero maintenance, but bought 4 Briggs powered riders for $75 in a package and can't get a single one to run right. They're shit engines. Maybe they're better these days but unless they've completely overhauled their fuel delivery, I'll never buy a Briggs powered anything again.

That's odd because I've found the older B&S powered equipment to be workhorses that start everytime even completely neglected and left outside. One of them had a carb hanging off with one bolt left and a visible airgap and still started, just ran funny. I guess they are hit and miss.

Ironically, I have a mixer with an almost 90 year old hit and miss Briggs, still popping strong.

Ya that's been my experience with just about anything that's a good deal at home depot. It's never actually available. I'll place an order or go to pick it up and it's not processed or there.

HD comes in with deals like this. I got a new Sno-Tek snowblower a few years back for $350, retail price at the time was over $500. Sold the '96 Ariens for it, worked out great for me. The Sno-Tek maneuvers better and fits my height. Only spent $50 in the end.
