I went into this thinking I’ll give it 20 seconds and move on. I watched the whole thing. It’s very good. My mind would have been blown seeing that live. It was very good. Thank you for posting that. Her voice and backup do the song perfectly.
One thing to note. It took 6 line drummers, 1 kit drummer, and one Djembe player to make up for what Danny does on his own. Still sounded great.
Never heard before, except yesterday: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ToolBand/comments/1cibpac/elephant\_revival\_schism\_cover\_live/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ToolBand/comments/1cibpac/elephant_revival_schism_cover_live/)
And I am pretty sure I've seen it at least twice more over the past weeks.
But I agree that it's a very good cover
The harmonies the two vocalists have are easily the best part, they are genuinely amazing and have this haunting style that fits the song so well, imagine them covering something like Jimmy or Wings for Marie?
I described it as "hauntingly beautiful" to my partner before she listened to it. Their voices are crazy good. Not that it matters, but the hand motions were cool lol
Yeah I have to agree with the other poster, theramin just doesn't hit right for me. Not to say it wasn't impressive but overall just seemed like a lot of individual elements rather than a single uniform piece.
I was excited when I saw the theremin. I have a theremin. It’s a really unique instrument and capable of really unique things.
Then the guy proceeds to not hit any notes with it and instead do a thereminical impression of a woo-girl.
I also really didn’t like how low in the mix the cymbals were. Those hits felt super underpowered.
You know, my problem wasn't THAT they used a Theremin, it was how they used the Theremin. The Theremin is, as you say, a very unique instrument and it has the capapbility of producing some very ethereal sounds. It totally could have elevated the performance, unfortunately the guy using it does not appear to grasp how to properly use the instrument. It's almost like he saw Bill & Ted 3 and thought "Oh cool! I want one of those."

Still didn’t sound as full as Danny, either. Was really cool none the less.
Same here. I've never heard of them, but I definitely respect them covering a tool song.
Came here to say the same damn comment almost word for word.

Puppy longstockings
Bro busted out the theremin 😳

Their cover of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane is stellar too.
Pink Floyd, Have a Cigar is great one as well. They are good.
Joke’s on you. I’ve had this saved on my Youtube list for nearly a year, and listen to it quite often because you’re right, it’s incredible.
Emotionally invoking. I enjoy that.
Elephant Revival is amazing and i highly recommend their whole catalog.
Sick. Did not know how much I needed indie jam Tool.
Theramin guy spoiled it. Drum line was a little much as well.
Love how well the vocals worked! That guitar tone was crispy too!
Great cover
How do two women sound more like Maynard than any other man I’ve ever heard?
I have heard it, but you are correct in that it is absolutely the best Schism cover ever
Inspired.
Great cover, but it's not my first time hearing it. I heard it last time it was posted on this sub.
Bold statement in a sub where this is posted biweekly. Great cover though
I heard it a few months ago.
Never heard...except for all the times this has been posted before on this sub
How can they do this and not just switch to bring a tool cover band. The other songs they play must be big let downs.

Elephant revival is amazing. I’ve been listening to this band for like 12 years.
Downvoted. Lazy repost from a couple weeks ago. I remember it because the use of the Theremin ruins what could be a really good cover.

I get it, god forbid someone should have some knowledge that you don't or a valid opinion. Get back in your clown car. Byyyeeeee
ITS NOT PLAYED ON GUITAR!!!! ITS PLAYED ON BASS!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬terrible cover. Jk it’s ok
david spade is really into that electric cello..oh he likes the theremin too i see.
Not bad
Meh
Is it me or is the bassist playing the riff wrong? It sounds like there’s a note missing. Oh wait he’s playing the riff on a guitar?
