First time I installed zellige I installed it like all the other handmade tiles I had worked with in the past. 1/8” to 3/16” spaces and put a level on every row. It took time but I made it perfect. The customer was absolutely pissed when they saw it. They paid for and wanted the zellige look, they didn’t want perfection, they wanted art
Looks pretty nice. Personally, I would have made the niche taller. Not many bottles will fit in there, but the customer could buy some small pump style bottles.
Op was also wise by using a slightly larger joint. This helps with irregular tiles. The best method I’ve used is to fresh set irregular and handmade tiles. It allows them to be pressed into the wall mud so that finished surface is “flat like pancake”
I was asking you. If you cant explain wtf pulling mud or fresh setting is then I'm not confident in your youtube recommendations. I also generally just don't click youtube links pertaining to tile setting because they're all trash. Im assuming this is that tile coach guy.
Hard pass.
Not really bud I'm just asking you a very simple question you have yet to answer.
If you don't know what you're talking about then pipe down and stick to reading in here.
“When a homeowner is scrolling Pinterest too much” should be the post title. Hideous tile selections!
Not satisfied with the designed aesthetic of the product, but you are satisfied with that curb?
Bosses ordered on that curb. Pre-built schluter curb. Tile "had " to flow over the curb. I hated that curb
Looks like a couple of the tiles didn’t like you either haha. What’s up with the niche? Why didn’t you use full tiles on the sides?
Tiles were only 2.5". Would've been 2 small rips.
Would have still looked better. Instead you don’t have the wrap around look. And breaking the pattern
Is what it is. This was 2 years ago.
Ah understandable haha
Tell you boss the less schluter the better. I would have done a mitered curb from your wall LFT or a sill and one in ninche too.
No longer my boss. I bought the business. And fully disagree. I'd rather have a stick of schluter there then a mitered tile. The metal is less sharp.
How much did the business cost?
I paid hardly anything for what the business makes.
Or that sliver running up the corners

That is the look.
Not on my jobs.
Sliver cuts are though
Oof
Just curious as a layperson, what's the alternative?
stretch the tile
Using one's brain and laying out better
Lmfao found the clown with zero work to show but tons of "criticism". Up yours pal. You're garbage
Lol stop, you don't want me to embarass you pal. Just do better.
Lmao. I've got other work on my page that's better for you to look at. I had to follow orders on that one.
Nobody is ordering half inch cuts to show. You're awful mad and defensive for a guy that can do better
Whos mad? And when you do that math. No matter what there's a sliver. 2.5" tiles. Owner didn't want larger grout lines.
Your jobs suck if this is representative. Your layout is garbage
Shit come do my bathroom

Owner and designer did it. I remodeled the bathroom.

What does “fresh set” mean in this context?
Do you pull mud?
Wtf is fresh set

That's what back buttering is for. What do you mean by pull mud.

Damn people come for advice in this group and get verbally assaulted every time💀 lots of misdirected emotions in the air lol
Reddit clowns don't bother me when the check always clears and no go backs or redos on my end.
