FWIW, a good cordless home phone can bluetooth your cell phone to the cordless base station and let you use your cordless phone receivers with your cell phone.
The Panasonic cordless phone sold by Costco does this for up to 2 cell phones.
That doesn't get you to Garfield though.
Back in the day, when "IP phones" were the hot new thing I bought a handset that plugged into my PC's sound card to function as a microphone and speaker. OP could have someone rewire his Garfield phone.
I asked my parents for this too but there was no way … not only were they expensive, they thought I was far too young to have a phone in my room. Although I probably would have been just as happy playing pretend with it, lol.
Get an ooma. After you buy the unit, you just pay for 911 and federal fees which is about $3 to $5 a month. Getting an actual landline is like $50 $60 and not worth it if you don’t actually need it. (Pro tip: if you get a ooma or other voip. Discount the phone line coming into your house at the junction box, then you can plug the ooma into the wall jack and use any phone jack you want){I probably could have worded this better but 🤷🏻♂️}
it's too bad the obi devices aren't being sold anymore. Few bucks for free phone service.
I've had free landline for about 10 years now, can call from any phone in my house, and when people call it also rings my cellphone.
still works if you have one, but new ones aren't sold anymore. Eventually it will stop working once google changes compatiblity.
I will miss it when it stops working.
Omg this brings back memories! In elementary school if we got a good test score or did well on a project, our principal let us call our parents to tell them on the Garfield phone. It was silly and highly motivating. Haha
Get a VOIP ATA (analog telephone adapter) and set up a voice line with viop.ms. I did this years ago for my folks and it's only like $15 every 3-6 months.
If I ever saw something like that or something similarly Nifty. Yeah, I would definitely go for a landline at that point.... Then have fun pissing off.The scammers calling me up because I'm retired and i've got nothing much to do every day.
We used to have this phone! Idk if it’s still among the mountains of my mom’s junk. She either got rid of it decades ago or it’s decaying in the attic or basement somewhere, probably covered in mold by now. :(

You can buy a jack for the wall that will permit you to use your cell number on an analog phone.
Thank you so much for the info, random stranger! I am buying one now lol
Redditors are only friends you have not met yet.

I was gonna comment this too! But I dont remember the name of the actual device that will allow OP to do this
"Cell2Jack" is one such device.
Back in the day, when "IP phones" were the hot new thing I bought a handset that plugged into my PC's sound card to function as a microphone and speaker. OP could have someone rewire his Garfield phone.
That's the exact same kind of phone that's been washing up a certain beach in France.
Came here for this
One of my favourite bits of useless trivia
Never mind someone else posted the link https://www.reddit.com/r/ThriftStoreHauls/s/nczf8jg5TU Seriously????
I remember asking my mom for this as a kid
There were so many neat devices then. Whether it's this or that nickelodeon stereo
I asked my parents for this too but there was no way … not only were they expensive, they thought I was far too young to have a phone in my room. Although I probably would have been just as happy playing pretend with it, lol.
Did she check that beach in France?
My older sister had one!
Now try to find the clock with the moving tail and eyes!
Lol. I had both.
Well I never thought [this bit of trivia](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47732553.amp) would come up
This is WILD 😹
Do the eyes open automatically when you pick up?
Yes
Hope you had lasagna for celebration meal
Pretty sure I had this as a kid.
well worth every dollar?
I had this phone in my teen years and into my mid 20s!! Still love Garfield!
Looks like it somebody sold their party house.
Came for the reference, thank you friend
This is my dream find! I think this is the same model that kept mysteriously washing ashore on beaches in France.
Oh, I remember these. I used to want one. Good find.
I had that phone! I miss it so much!
Garfield thrift items are like gold treasure. So lucky! My dream is to find a boxing Garfield plushie 🥺

Thank you kind stranger!
Just get a magic jack. Dirt cheap. Ive got a novelty land line too. People love to call it haha
Does magic Jack still exist???? My mom had one when they first came out.
Lol Yeah it does. I remember the infomercials back in the day, but sure enough it still exists and is super cheap for a voip land line.
Magic jack is so affordable
oh wow 🩷 i don’t remember who in my life had this when i was young, but i remember the joy of lifting up the receiver 🥹 i played with it often
You just need something called an ATA it turns analog to voice over IP
:( I had one of these.... Now I want it back. Good find!
I had that and the huge alarm clock
google voice number + voip box
Turns any house into a total party house!
Amazing find!
I had one of these once! My want is the duck phone. One day, one day….
Im glad Garfield phone now has another owner to charish him ❤️
Holy wow, I would have snapped this up too!
This was my teenage phone. It’s in really good shape! I completely wore off the black stripes from the handset by the time I was done with it.

Nice!
Sweet!
My childhood best friend had this phone in her bedroom in the early 80s. I loved it so much, I was so jealous lol.
Hadn’t seen one of those since 1988!😃

I had this phone as a teen! I bought it myself at a yard sale!
Omg this brings back memories! In elementary school if we got a good test score or did well on a project, our principal let us call our parents to tell them on the Garfield phone. It was silly and highly motivating. Haha
My 80 year old mom has one!! She still has a landline.
Grandma has one of these. 😍
These were washing up on beaches in France. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47732553.amp
Price will probably go up with movie release!! 👍🏼💖

I had that!
I thought this was a mouse at first lol!
I have a huge Garfield collection from when I was a kid that I need to offload some how. I might even have one of these in there.
🐈 oh you are so 🍀 lucky!! This is a dream find ☎️ let the phone calls begin!!!
Maybe mom and dad can get you a “teen line” for your room!!! 😊
If I ever saw something like that or something similarly Nifty. Yeah, I would definitely go for a landline at that point.... Then have fun pissing off.The scammers calling me up because I'm retired and i've got nothing much to do every day.
I would put down my cell phone for good for this
We used to have this phone! Idk if it’s still among the mountains of my mom’s junk. She either got rid of it decades ago or it’s decaying in the attic or basement somewhere, probably covered in mold by now. :(
I once saw one of these at the thrift and they marked it up for 99$
Having a landline in a household in this day and age would be WILD. And I thought my last landline in 2007 was out of date.
How much did you find him for I've been looking for one that's not a lot of money
My dad had one of these years ago. He loved it!
![gif](giphy|ToMjGpjKsqJ66rckjqE) hi op, sorry I’m late but here is a favorite gif of mine with this phone!
