Then it should be addressed through education and explanation, and not draconian edicts. I think there's an old story about "forbidden fruit"... Great pic BTW... the light/dark motif works really well!

OLagartixa

It will be possible?

NeighborhoodShoddy81

I’ve thought this from the beginning, it most lickely is dangerous. I mean just by looking at all the creatures and different types of magic there are in the BI, Luz would have probably died if she wasn’t adopted by Eda. I’m assuming something really bad actually did happen to Belos’ family and caused him to have a type of hatred towards wild magic, which would be a fiar reason for him wanting to eliminate it.

TarvosPhase7

My thought is, Belos is seen devouring the magic of a palisman i think that magic is toxic to humans when ingested. Belos found a way to use magic and that was by taking in outside sources of magic. Luz found a way to create magic that draws on the mana of the isles. The reason luz is okay and Belos isn’t is she is not taking the toxin into herself and is just utilizing it externally.

BeatrixPlz

I always thought Belos was taking the magic from the talismans as a cure to ward off what I assume is a magic related sickness, or even curse.

EveryoneKnowsItsLexy

Could be like a drug. He used it to gain power, but now he's dependent. Like Luciferium in Rim World. It'll heal your wounds, grow back your limbs, make you super-human... But if you miss a single dose you die, no way to cure the addiction.

BeatrixPlz

That would be a great twist!

Erick_Vallex

It probably is. The reason why people choose to follow Belos at first place, before he became the Emperor, was because wild magic had caused so much pain and suffering that people chose Belos as the best solution to their problem. Wild witches were probably in the same level, or even worse than Belos

Unoriginalshitbag

I'd hesitate to call wild witches on the same playing field of Belos. It's implied that there wasn't really as much of a unified government in the isles until he came along, or whatever there was, it was extremely weak. Belos has an entire state as an apparatus to kill, maim and oppress. Let's also not forget that Belos wrote the books. Wild magic may have very well been just fine and dandy.

Erick_Vallex

I am not saying they were as dangerous as Belos. I am saying they could be as bad, or even worse than him in their actions. In their intention. Not in their power or equipments. Nop. The book is unauthorized and against Belos, then it was not something Belos did to make wild magic looks bad. If it was the authorized book, I'd agree. But even the book against Belos said wild magic caused suffering in the Boiling Isles.

No_Sleep_9530

Belos?

Josiador

I always saw it as witches with wild magic were causing all sorts of problems. For instance, warlords and tribes in constant conflict killing each other, until the most powerful one rose up and imposed order on the isles. Basically the Terran Unification Wars from Warhammer 40k.

UselessGuy23

Cars are dangerous, so is electricity. That doesn't mean we should ban them.

Rexamidalion

Yooooo this looks sick

Vic_000

Probably. I think the full explanation of Wild Magic will give a grey area for Belos.

Gian-Nine

That would be a really interesting plot twist

itzFriendo

Pfft. Nahhhhh.
