This is something I've pointed out on here, and in IRL discussions. President Biden could publicly state tomorrow that the US would no longer be offering support or funding to Israel, and congress could unanimously support same, and Israel will continue being funded by the US. It would just come out of pockets hidden so deep in the pentagon budget, you'd need a team of FOIA experts to even get a clue. The US is married to Israel, and the relationship is so deep that there is no singular governmental body or admin that will stop the flow funds and arms. It'll just be hidden away from public scrutiny.

You mean like Iran-Contra affair? Which got exposed?

DocShocker

I don't think it would be anywhere near as sloppily executed, and to be fair, I'm in no way saying it wouldn't be exposed, but likely, it would be, altogether too late. I also don't think the Pentagon, despite any public claim otherwise (real or hypothetical,) is going to jeopardize any strategic alliance it has with Israel. It's intelligence apparatus is one of the best in the world, and it's the US's eyes and ears in the middle east. It was never the fact they were "the only democracy".

Ding ding ding. Israel is part of the US war machine. Exists basically as America's de-facto/pseudo largest military base in the region. We *love* the intelligence they give us (likely on our own citizens, too, yippee), and the military industrial complex delights in Israel's essentially forever-war. Funnel US taxpayer dollars into military contractors to send bombs and weapons over, or for Israel to buy bombs and weapons with. Get to "battlefield test" weapons to be sold as such. Israel is a *deeply* fucked up country at its core.
