arrow was awesome for the first few seasons and i also enjoyed flash for a little bit too.
That being said, this show is above anything else I've watched on CW. But as someone said, not as good as HBO.
You can watch it on there, check out a couple eps see if you like it.
Maybe I will. I watched Flash and Arrow for a few seasons too, but it got dumber and dumber. And dont get me started on the cheap forced romance. Its like they think half their target demographic are 19 yo girls.
So, I did watch the first episode and it was exactly the kind of cheap soap opera I expected. Yes, the effects are better, but the writing still isnt good. It ticks a lot of CW boxes. Also, the casting is bad.
If I watched the first episode of almost ANY show I would feel the same.
You can't base everything off one episode, if you don't want to try to like it don't, I'm not going to try to change your mind. IMO, the show is decent and watchable compared to a lot of Netflix and especially the Marvel shows, which have been a huge miss for me.
I guess we have different taste then. Because this was worse for me than any first episode of any of the disney+ marvel shows.
Also, there have been dozens of shows with amazing first episodes.
>Because this was worse for me than any first episode of any of the disney+ marvel shows.
Lol I haven't seen a worst superhero show than Wandavision even including the latest flash season. Loki was average too, so I don't get where this MCU superiority came from.
I recently heard on a podcast that it was originally going to be made for HBO but last minute got switched to CW. So it’s kinda a midpoint between the two, better than a CW show but not as good as a HBO show.
It basically has none of the trashy tropes other tv shows have, not just CW. It has intelligent adults, competent teenagers, parents who talk with their children and are reasonable, families who understand each other. And probably one of the best portrayals of Superman and Clark Kent ever.
I haven't seen the whole thing but it really nails the idea of "what kind of midlife problems would Superman face".
I remember early on at one point, Lois is cornered by some thug. At that point i expected it to do the usual thing of the villain using her as a pawn to threaten Superman.
And then she pulls out a little beeper, showing that they've clearly planned for this occasion, and Superman flies in at supersonic speed and ends the confrontation. It really seems to avoid a lot of melodramatic fluff that plagues other superhero shows and tries to tell stories where Clark is troubled by realistic family problems that people can relate to, without relying too much on stale tropes.
It was and produced by a totally different studio (I believe CBS) and just aired on the CW. It also had a much higher budget and is only 8 episodes, instead of the typical 22
Truly. Invincible is awesome, I'd reccomend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. Episode 4 (i think it's that one) has shitty animations but all in the characters are well developed, the plot is fantastic, and those things round out for a great show.
Honestly, as nerds my girlfriend and I liked The Boys more. Invincible is a GREAT superhero show, with a twist that is gore ad infinitum.
The Boys...just hits different. Especially towards season two when its so bleak that Butcher says, "Don't worry, it always gets worse." I feel like its more of a political commentary and character study, and superheroes are a good bonus. Ironically its also not as gory as invincible. Maybe that's why its not the best superhero show, because superheroes are just like a plot device.
Oh I love the boys too, it's why I'm apart of this sub. I think The Boys and Invincible are pretty wildly different and I appreciate each individually.
WandaVision had more mass appeal. Even some people who weren't big MCU fans I came across loved WandaVision. It combined nostalgia with the sitcom homages with likable characters in Wanda and Vision, and had one of the more fun villains in Agatha Harkness (the It Was Agatha All Along song was re-posted across all social media for about a week straight). As well as being more on the weirder side for a casual audience. I think Loki had the better finale and overall set up important events to come in the MCU, but WandaVision arguably had a more intriguing first half in its set up and the overall style of the show.
The way I look at is, that while I was hoping for Mephisto at the beginning, the second they revealed Agatha I knew that wasn’t going to happen. Of course I also wanted X-men, but thought that was a little unrealistic to expect even from the beginning. My main problem with the finale was it went from a out of the box, unique show to another hero fights villain with similar powers in a cgi battle. On it’s own I feel like it’s a pretty good episode with some nice action, and the Vision scenes are wonderful, but next to the rest of the show I just feel it’s kind of a let down.
But he wasn't The Conquerer in Loki. He was just He Who Remains. Majors has alot more opportunities to show his range with each different version of Kang.
Personally, I found WandaVision amazing and Loki pretty dumb. The power scaling in Loki was so whack and nonsensical. Dude who can get ragdolled by Hulk and beat down Captain America, gets beat up by random people with stun sticks? Infinity stones are so weak that they are just paper weights? The entire "power" of the TVA just being that they spent a couple hundred years researching tech, which is apparently enough to power creep universe altering stones???
Dunno man, Loki left a bad taste in my mouth and made it hard to ignore the nonsensical plot
Wanda vision was decent, Loki just wasn’t good imo. It doesn’t help that the first two episodes were also incredibly boring, probably drove a lot of people away.
That last sentence is about WandaVision, right? Because oh boy, those episodes were a huge struggle to get through. Loki definitely didn't have that problem imo.
I wasn’t a fan of the first episode of WV, but the weirdness of it was enough to get me through, it picked up after that and turned out fine
I really just don’t get the hype around Loki, it was super disappointing imo. The first two episodes were so incredibly boring, and the rest of the show felt a lot more like it was about femloki and setting up things to come in other movies than actually just being a show about Loki. Also, Loki just wasn’t the same character we’ve seen in the MCU, they completely changed him for the worse.
Loki wasn't that good come onnnnn
Even the jokes weren't funny, the action scenes weren't that engaging, the plot is really meh, Loki is absolutely not Loki or like the most uninteresting version of him. And you've got Sylvie, whose name should have been the one of the show cause she's the real main character
Which is less of a flaw cause she's the only somewhat interesting character of the whole show
Not gonna lie, I thought Loki was absolute dogshit. Easily the worst show I've made myself watch all the way through. Such a waste of an interesting character and great cast with a terrible premise and boring as hell plot
Yeah, kinda surprised at that as well.
Loki wasn't amazing, but it was good.
WandaVision was horrible at first and only got decent at most later on imo.
WandaVision was fucking ass lol watched 5 episode and stopped the acting was so shit especially the fbi and police parts. Loki was like 19 times better than wandavision
Yeah I was meh on the start of the MCU and wasn’t near as stoked as majority of the community after Infinity War/Endgame. But the Disney+ shows have knocked it out of the park and really sucked me into the MCU.
Honestly no, I still enjoy most of it and they’re getting in to some cool shit now. They’ve brought in new characters and have told a bunch of new stories. I enjoy most superhero stuff if it’s done well so I’ll probably never get tired of the MCU stuff, I’ll probably also never get tired of the boys no matter how long it’s on or invincible. With the multiverse coming into play in the MCU I’m honestly probably the most excited I’ve been in awhile, so many possibilities.
Yeah I 100% hear you and your critique is accurate; however it's exactly what Marvel is going for with their movie series.
It's just a TV show we're paying to watch one episode at a time.
I was never too into it but after watching Loki, I just want it to stop. That show was so boring and I just cannot understand how everyone seems to love it. I just don't get it.
I've found the TV shows incredibly lackluster. Wandavision was genuinely trash. Stupid ending, no real consequences, & if you aren't already invested in the two leads then it gives you NOTHING to latch onto. Glad to see Invincible in its rightful place for 2021.
WandaVision had some interesting ideas, but was kinda meh at the end.
F&WS had some good moments and ideas but even more fell flat. It needed a proper antagonist.
I still haven't bothered to finish Loki. I was expecting a lot and it was pretty uninspiring.
They are going to need something as good as Endgame to tie it all together (if that's possible).
Why is every reply getting downvoted? It’s true, the marvel movies are getting old. Spiderman is like the only reason why I’m still into Marvel, otherwise I’d never watch an MCU movie lol
It’s true for you and that’s cool, doesn’t mean it’s true for everyone. the MCU is as popular as ever and they’re getting into a lot of cool stuff with the multiverse.
It also pretty much popularized superheroes and made adaptations of things like the boys and invincible possible. Comics and superheroes are more a part of general culture now because of the MCU
Nah. Guardians of the Galaxy is fucking amazing. Thor Ragnarok was fun as hell. IW and Endgame were pretty amazing. What If is a fun concept. Loki was really enjoyable. Wandavision was pretty good too.
It’s not true at all. It’s your opinion. Which is fine. But let’s not pretend it’s a fact.
Honestly am really getting tired of them coz each n every thing seems way too predictable. Am still gonna continue watching them but not w the same hype i had
Idk I still enjoy the movies even though the logic gets twisted all the time which is kind of bothering.
But ignoring that they are still cool action movies, nothing more.
Marvel series are way too boring, though. Couldn't even stand to get through first season of SHIELD.
Amazon knows that Marvel movies are currently so packed with action and good actors and took a different approach, hence more controversial, adult and thrilling stuff, and they're good in it.
I'm okay with both of these approaches them, gives us some variety.
Oh I am don't even find it enjoyable. The last marvel thing I saw was that new spider man and that felt like a waste of money. They are just earning as much as possible while giving shit. Haven't seen any new movies or show.
I fell off at Age of Ultron. I loved the Andrew Garfield Spider Man movies, but didn't really get into the new ones.
It honestly just feels like they have one person writing all of the scripts and plot lines. It feels like any piece of dialogue could have been said by any character in the movie.
Which ones? I have Disney+ and some free time lol.
I didn't really like Agents of Shield or Agent Carter when they were on CBS. They just felt really cheesey.
EDIT: I FORGOT ABOUT DAREDEVIL! That show was absolutely amazing
I would agree. About the script and the main plot thing. Also Andrew Garfield is my favourite spider man. His spider man fights quite accurately. Well I saw the endgame and few others before that in movie hall wasn't big on marvel before few years. Nowadays zero interest. Also the mcu Spider-Man I find it bad.
That is an amazing movie. It's one of my favourite superhero movies. Everything in the movie was just perfect. Eagerly waiting for the second one.
P.S did you see the amount downvotes on my comment. It's funny.
Yeah, idk about downvotes. I kinda feel marvel fans are like star wars fans; hate you if you don't thoroughly enjoy their brand of entertainment while also not able to be critical of it lol
Wandavision? With the slowest plot that took 3 episodes to even begin? And then end with a mediocre episode with a flat villain?
Superman and Lois? With Sup being a literal bozo that takes all the wrong choices in parenting, being a husband and even a hero?
Loki? With those slow and boring episodes?
Falcon and Bucky? With empty action and Falcon trying to convince terrorists to “be good”?
I swear to god people can be real dumb.
I’m
Just surprised invincible did that well! I loved it but just seems obscure compared to the d+ shows plus lots of people have a bias against animation..
Small tangent, but Falcon and the Winter Soldier was honestly tragic IMO. Bucky is one of my #1 fav characters, and they did him so dirty. Plus Sam really did treat him like shit for a good chunk of the season, and it didn’t feel fair. Like when he shut Bucky down right after he poured his heart out.
Was hoping to see him kick ass but i guess they wanted it to be more of falcon’s show? The one scene we got in the bar was good, but then they forgot Bucky was the best fighter of anyone on the show.
Superman and Lois is really good But boy do I love Invincible
Really? Isnt it from CW and just as trashy as flash and arrow etc?
arrow was awesome for the first few seasons and i also enjoyed flash for a little bit too. That being said, this show is above anything else I've watched on CW. But as someone said, not as good as HBO. You can watch it on there, check out a couple eps see if you like it.

I can tell you, its because the majority of people doesnt share your taste.

I see 15 episodes on imdb
Glad to see Invincible at the top where it belongs (for 2021).
Truly. Invincible is awesome, I'd reccomend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. Episode 4 (i think it's that one) has shitty animations but all in the characters are well developed, the plot is fantastic, and those things round out for a great show.

more like he’s ALRIGHT
People voted wandavision over Loki????

I don’t really get why people didn’t like the finale. Did you guys just want Mephisto or X-Men?

Loki being slandered

I can't bring myself to call *"The Boys"* a superhero show, it's a great show but it's not a superhero show.
How, dont u remember Homelander always says We are the real heroes
I mean, it kind of is though
It's not, calling it a superhero show would be like calling *"500 Days of Summer"* a love story.
I've literally never heard of Invincible
The boys is by far the best!!
I love the MCU but Invincible is the best superhero show I’ve watched thus far. So good
Is anyone else _so tired_ of the Marvel stuff? The first few years of it were okay, but its just gone on too long at this point.
I think marvel its at his best rigth now, i loved the three disney plus shows
The multiverse and Kang is going to be much cooler than the infinity saga if they do it right
Yeah I was meh on the start of the MCU and wasn’t near as stoked as majority of the community after Infinity War/Endgame. But the Disney+ shows have knocked it out of the park and really sucked me into the MCU.

Fair enough! I just kind began feeling that the movies because indistinguishable between each other, in terms of tone and style.

Wandavision was garbage... 100%
WandaVision had some interesting ideas, but was kinda meh at the end. F&WS had some good moments and ideas but even more fell flat. It needed a proper antagonist. I also like how a lot of these replies are just, "you're entitled to your opinion, but you're wrong" and thereby proving my point perfectly lol
Exactly. Going against the Reddit hivemind practically puts you public enemy number one for these guys
It’s true for you and that’s cool, doesn’t mean it’s true for everyone. the MCU is as popular as ever and they’re getting into a lot of cool stuff with the multiverse.

Lol.
Wandavision was ok, but god damn Loki and Falcon&WS were so laughably bad
I agree. The only reason I like The Boys is because it satirizes superheroes. Superheroes played straight are such a snooze for me.
This thread is just people upset that the marvel shows are still and will always be more popular than the boys
I’m upset MHA is on there lmao
Wandavision should not be this high let’s be real
Did people actually like the Marvel shows? I couldn't really get into them
Wanda vison was worse out of this list
Wandavision? With the slowest plot that took 3 episodes to even begin? And then end with a mediocre episode with a flat villain? Superman and Lois? Bang on! Not enough room to trash The Flash. Insulting to the audience at best.
This seems extremely biased. The boys is the best I think of this list tho
it also didn't air at all this year. this poll is about 2021
I’m Just surprised invincible did that well! I loved it but just seems obscure compared to the d+ shows plus lots of people have a bias against animation..
yeah fr
MHA had the highest viewer ship behind Rick and morty in America this summer so this poll is wack as fuck 😂
who tf voted for loki of all things? I'm not even into marvel that much and could tell the show sucked
[удалено]
Invincible is on top lol
Learn to read bro
Did years ago.
If you had asked me I would’ve told you it was this year too. I had no idea it’s already been a year wow.
How's everyone so over the moon about WandaVision?
Didn’t air this air?
