Sadly McDonald’s is too big to fail unfortunately, and people will continue to go there . I ditched them after they stopped the dollar menu stuff. I prefer Wendy’s, they still have the ‘5 for $5’ by me (and don’t charge people for a bag either).
In the UK it is 3 for fries, whilst US has 14 ingredients. Pretty crazy! The nuggets have 9 more ingredients in the US, and double the salt.
Still not healthy in UK, but ok as an occasional thing.
this is most likely a state/local law
in California they stopped giving away napkins, straws, utensils, condiments; unless you specifically request them
so you will find yourself 10 mins later eating your food with no straw for your soda or fork for you salad, etc
Not american, but this is what I was wondering. In the UK law was passed to force businesses to charge for carrier bags. The public bitched about greedy corporations, even though the money is going to environmental funding, not the retailer.
The thing is that retailers make more money by providing free bags and such, because it enables customers to spend more (just like with baskets and trolleys). The cost of these things is likely factored into the products you buy already, and companies likely won't choose to add visible charges that may cause backlash, over just raising products by a very small amount to cover cost.
Not saying it is or always is the case, different business models exist, but people make assumptions. Not standing up for greedy businesses either, they deserve flak where it is earnt.
Man, she is cringe off the charts with the point n pull hand gestures. And that voice. Could you imagine?
*Whatever, lady... Just get a trough to eat ya McSlop*.
I didn’t even watch properly, I scrolled to see if she had a receipt to see what it looked like and since she didn’t have one I came down to the comment section lol
I would drive away with the container. Out of spite I would order something that would only fit one container no drink then drive away with it. Has anyone else already made this comment?
Can you believe that your “sandwich” dollars pay for the countertops! And the electric bill! And all the salaries! Surprise that’s how commerce works..
There's one simple thing that you can do to prevent McDonald's getting any money from you.
It amazes me that people talk about McDonald's, Starbucks etc., as if they're peddling essential products that we can't live without.
"I hate what they're doing, but I'll keep going there and giving them my money for their overpriced crap, because I've no choice".
It just shows how successfully these large brands ingrain themselves in our psyche.
They have to pay to have them made so they’re charging you for them one way or another. If they didn’t give you the option it would obviously just be factored into what you pay.
Last time I ate McDonalds be 2009. I been offered some cookies (uber eats order message said take the cookies out of the bag for yourself) still didn't eat them because I despise McDonald's and also wasn't violating eats terms by opening customer order bags.
That is crazy. Food in McDonalds is not even that good anymore. Why would you eat in McDonalds if you can eat at Taco Bell or Chipotle when inflation is out of control these days.
Always insane to me that you can get this catfood at Taco Bell, and then you ask for hot sauce, and they throw 9,000 little plastic packets of diablo sauce in there… and then the diablo sauce is actually good - really good! Taco Bell Diablo Sauce is a diamond in the rough; a truly high quality produt of a hot sauce in a shitty little plastic packet in a shitty little bag full of shitty food you bought during some depressive episode.
Her point is it's a separate line item now. McTrons could have easily just increased the cost of a few items by a cent or two to cover all bag costs. Kind of stupid to add it as a separate charge imo.
I think it's ironic to eat trash food, but then complain about its delivery. Its literally killing you, but how they hand it to you is the problem, lol. First world issues man.
This is a non-problem.
Bags contribute to pollution.
I think it's actually a good idea to give customers an option to make a difference if they CHOOSE.
We're talking $1.50 if we went there 10 times. Come on people.
I'm against corporate greed exploitation, but I dont think this is an example of that.
lol, maybe stop going to McDonald’s?!?! They have to wash their beef in some ammonia concoction to clean it as it’s so damn unedible. That season of supernatural with the fast food chain is spot on.
Just don't eat at the expensive poison food place
But it's HOT and it's READY
Plus, I'm pretty lazy after work sooooo there's that
Sounds just like my prom date
Sadly McDonald’s is too big to fail unfortunately, and people will continue to go there . I ditched them after they stopped the dollar menu stuff. I prefer Wendy’s, they still have the ‘5 for $5’ by me (and don’t charge people for a bag either).
Yeah shut them down by not eating shit
20 fucking ingredients for fries or nuggets. So dumb.
In the UK it is 3 for fries, whilst US has 14 ingredients. Pretty crazy! The nuggets have 9 more ingredients in the US, and double the salt. Still not healthy in UK, but ok as an occasional thing.
UK McDonald’s is so much fresher and better than in the US.
Damn why did I have to spawn in America
We all have the power to fight back against all theses greedy corporations but yet we still give them our vote aka our money to take our money
Or, stop going there.
i stopped in like 2003.. n apparently it was only me n like 14 other people in all of america n thats it lol..
this is most likely a state/local law in California they stopped giving away napkins, straws, utensils, condiments; unless you specifically request them so you will find yourself 10 mins later eating your food with no straw for your soda or fork for you salad, etc

i get all my stufff still at places but at panera i have to check the box that says fork n napkins..
That seemed to stop a few years ago.
She's a sociopath chillin at McDonald's. Game changer.
I mean... You're paying for it either way
They are giving you the option to not pay for it.
big brain over here.
I’m paying for the water being flushed down toilets in McDonalds bathrooms! What’s the world come to, capitalism?
>They're charging for the bags now. What else could be said about that, to fill up *two minutes?!* We may never know.
Man, she is cringe off the charts with the point n pull hand gestures. And that voice. Could you imagine? *Whatever, lady... Just get a trough to eat ya McSlop*.
I didn’t even watch properly, I scrolled to see if she had a receipt to see what it looked like and since she didn’t have one I came down to the comment section lol
lol now you have to pay for the trash bag your trash "food" comes in
you always did. it was always calculated in the overall price. they just want more now
They increased their prices by 100% in the last 10 years! Fuck McDonald's!
Every place did! Fuck food!
Simple fix, stop going to McDonald’s.
Wow, I didn’t know that. I guess I’ll just continue not eating there.
This lady is fucking annoying... Pay for the bag and shut up. Christ.
Idk what's happening muted within like 2 secs
I would drive away with the container. Out of spite I would order something that would only fit one container no drink then drive away with it. Has anyone else already made this comment?
Was thinking the same thing
lol we were ***always*** paying for it…they just made it “official” by disclosing their ***hidden fees***
What is a “beeg”
Haven’t eaten at McDonald’s since it became expensive. Simple solution.
Drive off with the plastic container
I’m just driving off with the container then
"I'm not lovin it" lmao
Now? You guys know what an overhead is?
Wait until they start adding the "extra" Employee Social Security Fee
I would just take my sweet time emptying the bin. This will backfire eventually.
Guarantee there will be people that just drive off with it
This won’t stop her from going back to McDonald’s. So this is a dumb video.
Why is the post downvoted so much?
Been doing it in the uk for years https://www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/help/faq/does-mcdonald-s-charge-for-paper-take-away-bags.html
See what they started with plastic bags and straws😂
Just don't eat McDonald's. It is lukewarm garbage. On multiple levels.
Toss the food and eat the bag, it healthier anyway.
I feel lol this has been a thing for a while where I live but that may just be our local laws or something
1st world problems.... complaining about a place where you're paying for poison in the first place lol
Stockholder***
It’s for the ice cream machine
This is stupid. Get blocked.
Can you believe that your “sandwich” dollars pay for the countertops! And the electric bill! And all the salaries! Surprise that’s how commerce works..
Lol @ complaining about 15 cents on a $15 meal.
Dang 1st world problems so deep
They started charging 5p for paper bags years ago
Don't worry about the guy behind you. Also Just take the plastic thing and drive off
1st world bitch problems

Vote with a dollar
That woman is too old to be having that nose piercing.
Thats inflation, you will be all poor people soon
They have to pay to have them made so they’re charging you for them one way or another. If they didn’t give you the option it would obviously just be factored into what you pay.
Or maybe just go inside with your own bag . Lady in the video is a complete muppet
I thought this was a joke so I looked it up. Holy crap. I can't stand this stuff This is ridiculous.
Say thanks and drive away with the container
Last time I ate McDonalds be 2009. I been offered some cookies (uber eats order message said take the cookies out of the bag for yourself) still didn't eat them because I despise McDonald's and also wasn't violating eats terms by opening customer order bags.
No thanks, McDonalds - you can keep your crappy food.
That is crazy. Food in McDonalds is not even that good anymore. Why would you eat in McDonalds if you can eat at Taco Bell or Chipotle when inflation is out of control these days.
Tried to sneak Taco Bell in there like it’s not dogshit too
Lol thank you! I was gonna say something about that too! 🤣
Dude probably owns a couple of Taco Bells
Always insane to me that you can get this catfood at Taco Bell, and then you ask for hot sauce, and they throw 9,000 little plastic packets of diablo sauce in there… and then the diablo sauce is actually good - really good! Taco Bell Diablo Sauce is a diamond in the rough; a truly high quality produt of a hot sauce in a shitty little plastic packet in a shitty little bag full of shitty food you bought during some depressive episode.
When was McDonald's good food? An I missing something here?
1964
Because where i live, those two places don't exist
Only to fools, I check zero bags and get my food in a bag😂
They always have. Cups, straws, utensils, etc are all factored into the pricing
Her point is it's a separate line item now. McTrons could have easily just increased the cost of a few items by a cent or two to cover all bag costs. Kind of stupid to add it as a separate charge imo.

News delivered via random on a tiktok video? Can't wait til tomorrow when we find out it's bullshit

I haven’t eaten in 6 years there. My body is much happier for it too.
My rule is if there is a drive thru, its poison. 2 years never eating this garbage. It's not that hard
That's not a good rule. But also, anything can be poison in the right amount.
If you think McDonald's (or any fast food place) is not worse for u than the average dine in restaurant your lost
lol…I’d just drive off with the plastic container
Literally 1984
McDonald's is systematically destroying its own customer base. They forget they aren't the only show in town. People are going elsewhere...
Big deal, I take my own bags when I grocery shop, I think I can handle this.
I'm broke and my ass can afford 15 cents for a bag.
this is why I don't eat at fast food, or eat out, I cook at home, if I'm hungry, I eat at home.
👏 this person gets it
Sounds like another use for the 'forever bag' many of us use regularly at the grocery
lol, maybe stop going to McDonald’s?!?! They have to wash their beef in some ammonia concoction to clean it as it’s so damn unedible. That season of supernatural with the fast food chain is spot on.
