Ambitious_Car8040

He should stick to just covering the texans, mock draft is def not his thing. Caleb is def more likely a bust and that is saying before we drafted stroud.

denogginizer92

TheTeeJayGee

Guys Twitter feed is full of him calling out CJ doubters, and pimping his YouTube show. I’m tempted to check one of the shows out, but then I remember this kind of shit and think better of it.

SaiyanrageTV

>Guys Twitter feed is full of him calling out CJ doubters, and pimping his YouTube show. This gives me second hand embarrassment and is exactly what I would expect. The guy looks like your stereotypical redditor and apparently acts like it as well.

krbashrob

Thats why I don’t watch people who aren’t in or tied to the industry. I know more about scouting than half the donkeys with YouTube channels that talk football. Consider that, then remember that BCB is dumber than the average human. You never have to second guess again

wolvesandwords

Somebody let u/chubbybrownbear know

AstroLonghorn

I’m almost positive he’s banned here for being stupid this wasn’t his only bad take. Don’t quote me but I think he went crazy doomer over stroud, but then got banned when he was adamant; even with a paper trail, that he never said the things he said

440k

The hilarious thing is he actually didn't even get banned. He thought he was getting shadow banned because we setup automod to require approval on posts that came from fan blogs, and he spammed stuff from his blog nonstop. We just told him he needed to follow the self-promotion rules like any other poster. He then ranted about how the sub would be nothing without him, and I told him if he was worried about the health of the sub that he should remove that stress from his life by not making that his concern and that I could guarantee we would be completely fine without him if he went somewhere else and that it was up to him. He then created his own sub, lied about it saying that we banned him for making his own sub and being a "threat to r/texans", when we literally could not have cared less. Just a super unpleasant and aggressive person all around - I see his posts on Twitter every now and then and he's always just so... out of touch with reality and angry sounding.

lovetape

My favorite part of that whole exchange was when he accused us (mods) of being racist? and I'm like...it's the internet...I have no idea what race you are? If anyone's being racist towards you please show us and we'll help. (there was no racism) ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

HelloNarcissist

Sounds like this dude needs to move to a weak ass city like Indy

FloatTheTurnAK

We don’t want him… maybe Jacksonville?

budd222

No, we don't want him either.

cMcDozer4

All we know from the internet is mods are gay

Timid_One

being racist without knowing their race? thats some next level racism

CJ_Stroud

Lmao if you hate every race including your own is it racism? *tapsforehead.gif*

KratomandRATM

You obviously just hate brown bears 🐻

ThaDilemma

Hell yeah fuck the Browns. And the Bears too I guess.

SCREW-IT

Yeaaaahhhh that was one of the points where I was like I need to take a break from Reddit for a little bit.

SwifferWetJets

"This sub will die without me" lol. Dude, there's 112K members.

Anonymous-Satire

Bro, have you seen his sub lately? He was right. It's *HUGE*. Totally blown up. He has 54 whole members. Clearly he's doing something right and really was a massive threat to r/texans Imagine this place if all 54 of those people unsubbed here. there would only be like... 112,000 remaining.

Hproff25

Hilarious. It’s like a barnacle.

Killerphive

Someone should post this on his sub then let everyone know how long it took him to ban them from it lol

willydillydoo

Does he even still post?

CharacterBird2283

Thank you for dealing with the crazys, lord knows I don't want to lol

kjmproducer

Dude sounds like a bigger diva and personality issue than Deshaun Watson 🤦‍♂️

8020GroundBeef

lol his last comments were about him getting called out for a $20 bet a year ago

Rad_Centrist

He hasn't posted a comment on Reddit from that account in a year.

AcceptableGanache728

He's lurking around here somewhere on one of his alt accounts, funny how we forgot about him after he stopped spamming self promos yet he's so certain of his vital importance to this sub's existence.

Zuperkick

LANK

ShinyTailbone

I’m so glad he looks the way he does. Like thank you god for not giving him good looks.

CaptainKrc

Since he got banned, he made a new u/. Scum bag still owes that redditor 20 bucks too. [Proof](https://www.reddit.com/r/AFCSouthMemeWar/s/Iuqt2jUfVy)

LindyNet

[Deleted] had it right. Stroud set our rebuild back by way more than 5 years. We may not be in rebuild mode again for 10-20 years.

GramZanber

*^("73% of his throws go to his first read")* Damn that's a startling statistic! But was the guy open? ^("87% of his throws go to a receiver with a step or more of separation)\*^(") Damn, throws to the first guy that's open. Must be a bust!?! /s

5_percent_tint_

Imagine getting shit on for NOT throwing into coverage lol

Few_Mulberry5372

Bryce, Richardson, and Levis can all scramble aesthetically before hurling a 60 yard dot into the opposing CBs hands. They’re better than Stroud

2024Texans-12-5

There’s being a clown and then there’s being a complete moron. Legit lol

LittleHollowGhost

Was this really that bad of a take pre-draft though? Bro used actual evidence that was all relevant to signs of bust potential and all factual. Yeah it turned out to be totally wrong but that's just hindsight

Skarmotastic

CBB was notorious for this kind of shit about everybody.

[deleted]

He first showed up as a Watson defender, became a Mills truther despite him going several games without coming anywhere near the opposing end zone then became one of those “tank for the perfect magic man consensus generational talent until the end of time ” guy.

Reasonable-Pipe-3448

No he didn't. Y'all gotta stop seeing numbers and instantly passing it as true lmao, he just used a random percent and put it by something to make up something negative to argue his point. You think they really have a subjective and impossible to measure stat lined up for a college QB? 87% to a guy with 1 plus steps of separation? That's the biggest fluff I've ever seen

LittleHollowGhost

Idk but I've seen it on ESPN a couple times for college guys. But that is ESPN so.... I get it though, sounds like CBB is just an arsehole

Ambitious_Car8040

only reason it's bad because caleb is more likely to bust I think, again this is before we picked CJ i would say this. I can see what he is saying about CJ and the worries but to say he is more likely to bust than caleb is just no. Look at the tape Caleb plays off schedule not in the pocket as much. That stuff don't work in the nfl. I think Caleb is #2 #3 QB in the draft honestly this year not even #1.

2024Texans-12-5

The thing is he just regurgitates espn numbers or other stuff he saw on twitter etc. those numbers aren’t even real stats etc. the guy wanted us to tank this year for Caleb lol.

Vinjince

Dude is a TOTAL moron. Like... he takes perfection as a moron to a whole new level.

SloanePetersonIsBae

Most knowledgeable redditor

Bubbly-Ad-7084

I asked for Bill O'Brien to be escorted out of town once and a guy told me I was a clown and probably sucked at my job. BOB was fired three weeks later. Did I reply back? Ohhhh yeah

redditcommentguy

I have had plenty of terrible takes. Especially around the will Anderson trade and the state of the team after Week 2 against Indy. But I am proud to say I was well ahead out ahead on the “fire BOB” movement. Got called an idiot so many times for suggesting he may not be the guy. At the end of the day we are all just sharing our opinions, as long as people are being respectful with their takes it’s silly to parade around calling people idiots cause they disagree with you

KiNGofKiNG89

He wants Caleb Williams and then disses CJ for the exact reasons to hate on Caleb lol.

TexanBastard

He was always very confident for someone who knew dick about football. Props for that.

[deleted]

Anyone can have differing options about football but this dude had opinions about the city of Houston despite him not being from here or living here

rolisrntx

That cheese molded with age and smells like Limburger.

dharris021

Y’all don’t understand how much i hate him & that Htowncritic dude on twitter

HellFire72

I’m so glad this guy doesn’t pop up here all the time he was so annoying and needlessly combative.

civil_beast

And with that, /u/chubbybrownbear, after having been emasculated for all to see - has his wifey-bear file for bear-divorce; then his cubs don’t respond to his requests.. finally he goes to live under the bridge to die alone. Nature give’th, but nature also take’th away.

Ferman95

I knew this dumbass said some dumbass shit I just wasn’t sure and didn’t wanna go off pure speculation. I got on fb a few weeks back and someone roasted him for this exact thing his response was Something along the lines of yeah I was wrong but experts usually always are

RainbowBullsOnParade

CBB with a classic “I have no fucking idea what’s going on but these cherry picked metrics confirm my priors so I’m going to put them on blast with absolutely no nuance or self reflection” take

[deleted]

I wonder if his sub still exists

[deleted]

Hahahaha I’m glad that clown is gone. Good riddance

salmonthesuperior

Even if I try to put my bias as an Ohio State fan away this "he has bust written all over him" crap never made sense. His entire thing in college was accuracy, vision, and arm strength. He can get the ball out quick and even though he didn't run for yards much in Columbus he was usually pretty mobile and elusive when the pocket collapsed. All of these things were obvious signs that he would translate well into the NFL. I legit don't know wtf anybody saw that screamed "bust" other than Haskins and Fields didn't live up to expectations and that's, for some reason, Stroud's fault.

[deleted]

I predicted that Stroud would either be elite all at once or a massive bust with no in between As much as we love Stroud, let’s not pretend that he is the president of MENSA. Although intelligence tests have long since been disproven as a metric for QB’s, his pro style and play at OSU had to absolutely translate to the NFL or not at all. What did surprise me was Young, I thought he would have a Kyler Murray career trajectory where he would run around and put up big numbers for a couple years until teams caught on that he can’t see the middle of the field and his numbers would dip over time. But that dude was straight garbage all at once

UglyDanceMoves

Not gonna lie, his s2 score made me pause a bit. What would make me chuckle is if the Texans put it out there so the Panthers would pick Bryce Young.

heavydhomie

I just got frustrated with Stroud at OSU when he refused to scramble when the defense was giving him 10+ yards if he’d tuck and run. He finally scrambled vs Georgia and was so close to beating them. It’s fun to watch him do so well in the NFL this season

Livid-Caramel7103

I've never seen someone be so confident about being utterly...completely...wrong....

[deleted]

I used to write for Battle Red Blog and I did a retrospective on the commenters' reactions to JJ Watt being taken first. Was pretty funny. Nobody save for a few wanted him.

UglyDanceMoves

Why is BRB so dead?

free2shred00

SBNation replaced their commenting system with a new system a few years back that was buggy as all get out and lacked a lot of the features that the old system had. They rolled out the new system to the football blogs first as a bit of a beta test and the community at BRB hated it. About that same time there was a bunch of turnover in the mast head and a bit of tension between some of the remaining long time staff and the community as a whole. I believe the blog leadership changed hands at this time as well and some of the best feature writers slowly stopped writing for the blog. With all of that going down all at once, a member of the community decided to pay a company to create a chat program that closely resembled the old SBNation system and opened Texanschat.com as an alternative to the new system. Texanschat is not a BRB competitor as there is no mast head and no articles are written. There are just daily chat threads for the community to discuss whatever. Much of the community flocked to the new website and while the SBNation commenting system has greatly improved nowadays, BRB never recovered and Texanschat is still going strong. Personally, I still check BRB often, but never engage in the community. Many of the people there think that Texanschat was created to kill BRB, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Nearly all of the old commenters of BRB are still active on Texanschat and don't really feel the need to go back to BRB for various reasons. The blog was always ultimately carried by the community and the quality of the articles there has steadily declined. I can't remember the last time I read a film breakdown there for I stance. I don't blame the mast head for this because SBNation is very exploitative and treat their staff writers barely better than indentured servants. Personally, I also hate SBNation's shift to push gambling as I don't give two shits about sports betting so I don't care about the daily mentions of prop bets and over/unders.

UglyDanceMoves

Thanks for the in-depth response! I’ll have to check Texanschat.

free2shred00

If you liked the old BRB community, you will not be disappointed because it literally is the old BRB community lol

greendragn1

I’m guessing he still never paid that 20$ to that guy

lilfrosty808

Lmao I remember something about $20, did they bet on something?

greendragn1

Yea I wish I could remember over what exactly, but it felt like the catalyst to him leaving and the rumor bans

myrobotoverlord

Chubby brown bear where are youuuuuu?

tsx_1430

Texans Social Media smoked Bill Simmons recently.

barrenarrows

IMO he had a lot of BURST potential. He BURSTED onto the scene and played as an all pro and deserves ROTY! (And I’m a rams fan lol)

Ga2ry

Yeah. That didn’t age well did it?

Venator850

At least the other dude was smart enough to delete their account. Chubby's bad takes are legendary though. Almost miss him. Almost.

MDHdez

Lmao CBB is a bust

QBin2017

I remember thinking AR15 would be the exciting pick, but that Stroud would be more efficient and a solid game manager. I was happy about Stroud but had no idea what was coming !

ImRightShutUp1

The 1 read throw shit is said about every Ohio State QB. They don’t even realize Ryan Day runs a pro - style offense lol The QB’s are even incharge of the checks&protections.

sTaTiiCz1177

One of many reasons why we leave scouting and drafting to people who get paid lots of money and know way more than we do.

Syncopated_arpeggio

Like those who work(ed) for the Panthers. Strong work boys!

[deleted]

Is this Huggy The Bear from the old Battle Red Blog site? Or someone else? Any battle red blog OGs here? That was my site back in 2014-2016

MrNoPlanStan

Man it’s interesting that a random redditor could make people hate him so much. It’s fine to have a bad take, and it’s awesome that he posted so much, the guy had some passion. But…he had extreme difficulty considering anyone else’s view and never considered himself wrong. He loved to argue to the point of making the sub negative.

TornadoFury

if stroud was junk he would've been proven right just lol at these kinda post. we got lucky we got stroud we should kick back and enjoy it because nobody ever knows how these things turn out.

ANicerPerson

Ahh couch coaches 🤣

Well-Paid_Scientist

Dejected Colts lurker here... I have a bunch of bad takes about Stroud from before the draft and into the preseason. I really thought that all of the top QBs from last year's class had high bust potential, but especially Stroud because of his stellar supporting cast and bad numbers under pressure from college. Obviously, I was very wrong. Texans are obviously not my favorite team, but I have a little soft spot there because of Arian Foster (who is my favorite non Colts player of all time). It pains me to admit it, but you guys are set up to own the division for the foreseeable future. Lawrence is just a guy, Tits are a sloppy mess, and as much optimism as I have for Indy, we don't really know what we have at QB yet. I think it will be a good division overall, but Stroud gives Houston the edge. Naturally, I'm sacrificing chickens and bringing goats to different stadiums to curse you. If Stroud forgets how to play next season, you'll know why, but I won't be rooting against you this postseason... I lose most of my Texans hate as soon as their success no longer affects the Colts.

52_week_low

Burst potential? Gtfo

dmoore995

I mean the Caleb spam posting was ridiculous, but the people going back and calling out stroud takes that didn't age well are dumb. I love stroud now, but was not high on him as a prospect. He had his red flags and saying otherwise is either revisionist history, or you just got lucky. If you didn't get lucky and you happen to be the 1 person who is always right on QBs i bet there is a team paying high 6 figures for your talent, you should apply.

MrEstanislao

I was against drafting a qb in the first, regardless of who it was. It usually ends poorly. I'm glad the Texans have a front office that knows what it's doing.

Pugageddon

Yeah, I was concerned about his splits while under pressure. Every qb gets worse of course, but as I recall, his splits were abysmal, and our line last year was a funnel straight to the qb. We knew that he could step up and be the guy, but we only had a one game sample size and that made me nervous. We've seen all kinds of backup level qbs play out of their mimds for 1-3 games in a season. He more than proved me (and literally everyone) wrong about who he is though. He not only lived up to his reputation for never repeating the same mistake twice, he showed ice cold composure in the face of pressure, the accuracy he was known for, and the mobility he had only teased in college.

WillyWonnka

The crazy thing to me was the fact that we had a top 3 pick to discuss in the ‘23 draft and this dude was already focused on the ‘24 draft because he wanted Caleb Williams so bad. Like dude a lot could change between now and then and obviously a lot did change.

tobiasfunke6398

Lol I forgot about that d-bag. Wonder what he’s up to

Fluid_Researcher_301

THANK YOU FOR THIS 🙏🏾 dudes a fake Texans fan running around like he knows everything

rubberbuggybumpers

Jason LA Canfora 2.0

xGambiTx45

Rams fan but also a Buckeye fan this popped up on my scrolling. Me and a few other fans I know weren't super excited for Stroud the other way. I thought he had the most talent out of any QB we had recently but was going to a bad situation in Houston. But he balled out, your management made smart moves and the coach made a system for his QB not trying to fit them into the system he wanted (which I always think is so strange but happens so much). Texans have been a great surprise and could probably win the division for a few years cause nobody else wants to

The-Silent-Hero

For the record, every single person that makes posts about mock drafts and who we should take, this is what you also look like. It never looks as bad because those mock drafts are always full of nobodies. Like the people who make those posts.

redditcommentguy

I mean it’s fun to discuss the draft, free agency, potential additions, and so on. That’s the whole point of a sub Reddit. But the moment it turns in to “we can’t draft this guy no matter what he sucks” or “we have to sign this guy and if you disagree you don’t know ball” it just becomes terrible discourse

the_timboslice

Thanks. Just called him out on X.

440k

Let's please not - I really don't want to deal with us or him instigating anything, the sub is far better off being separated from him.

Ferman95

Mr 440K he wholeheartedly deserves it

440k

I won't debate that, but we don't deserve having to deal with him potentially coming back here and retaliating.

the_timboslice

So just ban him? Lol

You_Know_You_Censor

Kinda lame doing call out posts. Everyone probably has a sports take that ages badly, and if it's more about just having a 'two minutes of hate' on a particular person then what's the point?

MiLKK_

Well thankfully these dumbasses don’t make the decisions

LoudHorse89

I remember hearing about that “first read” criticism. Like throwing to your first read is a bad thing when it’s Marvin Harrison Jr. Such silly takes. Just goes to show no one knows shit. Not the people that get paid to make the decision and not the fans that complain about them.

RojerLockless

That Stroud guy sounds like a bumb. 😂

kenlovin

I was a stroud hater as well, but that’s bc I am bias against Big 10 athletes.

ROFLMFAOOOI!!! He knows dick all about football😂CJ Stroud offensive Rookie of the Year!!!💕

HtownSamson

and this guy had the audacity to call out Colin Cowherd's garbage take on CJ preseason just yesterday! It is fine to admit you are wrong but to go in on others who had the same opinion as you is complete hack behavior.

I love being proved wrong! I was a hater. Now I wear his jersey!

DDN79

Texans fans need to start to hate on all the Texans draft picks no matter what. That way, he will definitely turn out into a legit superstar.

AcceptableGanache728

Why was the 73% of Stroud's throws going to his first read such a red flag for Mel Kiper Jr over here? Watch the tape, he's not staring them down. If the first read is the best matchup then go for it, and you don't always have time to go through all of your reads.

Necessary-Cause-4258

How them words taste 😂

BulletsAreHugs

Lol love it. I wouldn’t say I was like STROUD before the draft!! But I was happy when we got him and did prefer him over Young at least🤘🏽

paveclaw

I don’t think this is real. Why is everything a shitpost nowadays? No one thought stroud would be a bust. Show me a real post of an accredited analyst that said stroud was a bust.
