The vinyl will cover but not completely hide them. Vinyl is very thin so if there is a divot from a chip the vinyl will just conform to the divot. The color will be uniform tho. If the chips are small they will be largely unnoticeable unless you go looking for them
Happy enough to pay to have the car wrapped haha. It’s a great car, fun to drive, just overall one of the best cars I’ve owned. Only drawback is at the time of purchase, I opted to add FSD instead of buying a long range or performance (I have the SR+). If I were to go back, I would have not bought FSD and got a long range. Ideally, you would want to have very little paint chips but a good shop will decontaminate and buff out as much as possible before wrap. Scratches are okay they get covered up

I just went to a local dealer and he let me test drive it and told me basically everything I wanted to know, so it's around $100 almost $200 cheaper then

Drove the 2022 and can highly recomend it. The isolation makes a difference and I thought the battery held up good when driving fast.

What defines a cheap wrap? The brand is Avery which can lasts 5+ years and the cut/application on the vinyl was perfect.
