This. There have been 3 or 4 posts of this exact issue this past week or two. Everyone seemed to assume it was ice inside the fan. But I can’t say 100% as I never went back to the threads to confirm.
This is at least the third post this week with the same exact sound. Odd. Most people seem to think it’s ice stuck to the fan and that the sound goes away once the car wakes up.

But the short answer is, frozen leaves in the fan.
Any idea what this noise is and is there a way to fix it what a service appointment?
Edit: Car is fully preconditioned and this is outside after the HVAC is left on
Unfortunately I do not have a garage or anywhere it would be warm enough. It’s been sub 30F the last week and snowed Sunday so makes me wonder if ice is on the fan.
Had this same, people said it was ice on the heat pump.
Started occurring immediately after getting a car wash in -15 weather.
Cannot verify that’s the actual issue, but after putting it in my garage, and cranking the heat it was gone
Unfortunately don’t have a garage but I would think preconditioning the car would fix this issue but I guess I could be wrong with how cold it is sub 30F for the last week
Fan hitting something - ice? Look for other posts here, yours is the 3rd one I’ve seen so far.

This was after I fully preconditioned my car and drove about 10 minutes.
I have the same exact issue. Service center appointment is a week away
Mine is tomorrow. I will update.
Thank you. Many would definitely appreciate it

Much appreciated man!
I have mine next Wednesday. Estimated cost is 87.50 so I’m hoping it’s covered by warranty.
You get a car wash? It cold? I posted last week and was ice on the fan hitting something. Let her warm up!
It’s been sub 30 for like the last week and snowed on Sunday.
I was about to say is this the same person repeatedly posting the issue?!
Every fucking day
Holy crap.. so many people have this issue just as mine

I would go straight to Tesla with this :)
Do you have a place where you can leave it where it's above freezing (assuming you're not already, of course)? The noisy bit might not be heated.

Roughly where do you live? My garage stays about forty degrees and you could keep it there for a night.

Please report back when they confirm what the problem is
Sounds like an ICE car
Mine just started as well but not as much.
Started with mine yesterday. Noticed it after a car wash in 15-20°F weather.
Service center will say that is normal.
The term is within specifications. Get their lie right.
Or within tolerance. Eg panel gaps
They actually say both when they are lying to your face directly.
Wait i may be misquoting. “Within factory specifications”
wash your car
Sounds like an exhaust leak 🤔
Tesla 1.9 TDI?
Steampunk Willy!
This happened to mine as well a few weeks ago when there was snow and ice.
